Lana Turner is 20 years old in this flick . I can't believe how beautiful she was . Thanks again for this great film . It's wonderful seeing all these older actors who know how to act . Happy New Year everyone . God Bless
Now that was a Movie. Incredible directing and imaginative story line. Very well done. Masterly woven bits of information that just hint at the possibilities.
Lana's father was murdered when she was 11 years old. Rough going. It's obvious Marilyn copied her style, mannerisms and speech, but slightly more exaggerated.
What a cold-hearted character Johnny Eager was! Was he a Sociopath or just a bastard who cared for no one but himself? Whatever he was, he sure was good at it. And his companion, Jeff Hartnett, played by Van Heflin, was the counter-balance to Johnny. He seemed to care too much, but he was also a pathetic character. I really enjoyed watching Van Heflin and think he did a very believable job with the role.
Proper stuff - character development and moral alteration thro’ experience. Iago’s story. ..bloomin’..bloomin’ sweet mutt - fantastic character delineation - him taking an interest in the dog-races…!
A truly great movie, love the complex relationship between Taylor and Van Heflin, thanks for not ruining the print with an ego logo, Lana Turner really had something, her nervous breakdown in a car in the bad and the beautiful is really a superb piece of work. Spoiler Alert Very heavy irony at the end, if Johnny had of gotten cop number `711' that cop would not have killed him in the end.
I m only 20 minutes in and they hit me with Herod Agrippa and Cuerno de Bejerack (sp?)!! My dumbed-down brain is beginning to emmerge from it s coma Merciful heavens!

Update the 3 speed on the steering column was authentic...also you can tell the difference between 1940 and1941 Cadillac because the headlines on a 1940 are mounted on top of fenders and the 1941 is the first year headlines were covered by fenders

Lana Turner was a star! She loved her fans and always looked like the glamour girl she was. Right up to her last role on Falcon Crest in the 1980's.
You can't get it any better than Robert Taylor and Lana Turner for great memory lane viewing. TY 4 posting.

🔵LANA TURNER WAS GORGEOUS, AND I LIKE ALL HER MOVIES, ESPECIALLY "THE POSTMAN ALWAYS RINGS TWICE".🔴
Buena película, buen final.como debe ser. Muy recomendable.
I never was impressed with Lana Turner but I admit she is gorgeous in this.
And talk about life imitating art, I never believed it was her daughter who offed Stampanato.
I like Lana in The Postman Always Rings Twice, but nothing else.

Very good movie, surprisingly powerful scenes and backstories. Really enjoyed it
Lana Turner is one of those very few actresses you fall in love with...during the movie
Rita Hayworth was another you fell in love with
Maureen O'Hara could do it to you too
This movie is great...because in part Van Heflin who was the sod buster friend of Allan Ladd in "Shane"
"Shane's in there!"
This is sure Lana Turner Movie Robert Taylor is the Supporting actor
What a wonderful story ❤
Damn...cant take my eyes of Lana....talk about Star charisma.

Was that a movie trying to get in between the commercials?
Love of a woman makes a bad guy do good...even if it killed him
25:22 A unique early performance by Van Heflin.
He won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for this film.
I've never seen him so young.
poetic justice ... #7-11 ....

wow, the murder scene sure turned out unexpected.
Robert Taylor's real name was - get this - Spangler Arlington Brugh.

I was planning on saying this was a surprisingly good movie. But the way they ended it was terrible. 😔

ROBERT TAYLOR WAS A WAR HERO....PILOT...
Our hero drives a 1940 Cadillac with a 3 speed on the colom? I am not sure about the availability of that tranny in 1940 Cadillac
