In this video I talk about a budget aquarium heater that I purchased and I've been testing for the past 6 months and I'm happily pleased with the performance and reliability, the CNZ aquarium heater seems to be an excellent option for the budget-minded aquarium hobbyist.

Just curious, are the heaters still working after year and a half?
Any problems with them so far?
I have to buy 3 heaters; one for 40G breeder and two for 2 x 20G standard.
100W heater does the job for 20 gallons, but I am not really sure if I want to go with one 300W for the 40G breeder or with two 150W. My philosophy is, if one heater fails, I’ll have a little bit more time to prevent a disaster.
Yes all heaters are still working very well
I went with 2 150w orlushy heaters for my 40 gallon. Wish I had seen this video sooner! My thinking is if a heater life span is based on on/off cycles having 2 heaters=less on/off cycles, in theory.
Just found your channel. Subbed. My bristlenose do that too, it's like when a shark falls asleep when upside down
Thank you, yea it's pretty comical
Have you checked out the Nicrew mini submersible heater? I love those and they have a remote. They are like $20 for a 100 watt
Ive seen them but never used them. Not sure how I feel about the remote.
Good video? The thing is I don`t need a heater because I have a goldfish 😂A question not related with this video is can I mix my goldfish with a Dojo loach?
Yep you sure can, Ive done it in the past with no issues. Also goldfish are temperate and can be in all water temperatures but most prefer to keep them in room temp water so there's no need for the expense of a heater.
@@TrafishAquatics Thanks 😊
Hey I recently put fish in my tank on may 20th it is currently may 30 and the day I put the instant bacteria starter I put the fish the next day, they are looking healthy right now just wanted to know why my tank is still kind of cloudy, I’m not going to due a water change until June 3rd which I was told to wait 14 days after adding bacteria, I tried Aqueon water clarifier, using the algae sponge on the tank, putting polyfil(on my hang on back)I have a 65 gallon btw, I have 3 goldfish and a mystery snail, and a sponge filter there is still many particles and it’s still cloudy I need help please. I keep it away from light outside I keep the fishtank light on all day except around 10:30pm
Because the tank is new the bacteria needs to build up enough of itself to be able to break down the ammonia that is being produced by your fish, in order for the bacteria to do this it blooms into the water column and makes the water cloudy, this is completely normal and should not be a need for worry, this will clear up on its own once the bacteria reaches an equilibrium with the ammonia production.

@@TrafishAquatics thanks you got me worried you helped me learn a lot when I started my fish journey
Your welcome
I am always on a budget so thank you ALOT for this tip!!! Oh poor plecko....... I sleep like that too so mind ya business lol
Your welcome 😆
We need a new video! Will we get to see one tomorrow?
On vacation currently, hoping to get back on the grind when I get back
Hey! Just found your channel watched the pond video and liked it and subscribed. Enjoyed the tank reseal video, thankyou so much for this heater video I’ve had too many heater fails with the name brands so I’m giving cnz a chance. Can’t beat the price!
Awesome! Thanks for subbing!
Great review, pricing is great.... Thank you from NYC
Your welcome!
Are you still using these? How are they holding up?
Man I was just looking a getting a cheap but effective heater for the sump for my 90 gallon salt tank. Thanks.🙂
Your welcome
@@TrafishAquatics oh btw the Betta you gave me advice on when another nipped all of his fins off...well it was absolutely excellent advice and my betta who I named, Success, he's doing great! 😇🙂
That's great to hear!
Go figure... They don't offer the 200W in a 2-pack
They did, it may just be out of stock currently
Question in your opinion does having to big of a airpump or to many bubbles coming out of sponge filter raise your ph. My ph is 7.4 out of tap and goes to 8.2 in tank. Curious what is your ph out of tap and ph in tank. I’m thinking I have to much oxygen to high of oxygen in tank and it’s raising my ph
You may actually have some small amounts of CO2 in your tap water, CO2 can lower pH and as that gasses off your pH will rise
@@TrafishAquatics I figured it out . To much oxygen in tank . Turned my air pump down now it is perfect
Another question for you. I bought some aquarium sand at the pet store. It stays cloudy unless I put filter floss in the H.O.B. Then it clears right up. I have a Fluval 50 and a sponge filter going in a 40 breeder that isn’t over populated. No plants either. Do you think the filter is stirring the sand up all the time, or maybe the sand is junk? I appreciate any insight you may have.
If the sand is very fine, the hob filter could tend to kick up the sand.
My Eheim 300 watt is 27 years old and still is going strong....
Much like older appliances, They were definitely built stronger and made to last, newer models are made cheaper That way they're easier to produce and they'll make more money off of their products because people will be buying them more often, That's the unfortunate truth of the society we live in now.
How do you get rid of hair grass off of live plants
Probably not much use but i just kept trimming the hair parts of the plant off. Did treat it with Tetra anti Algea stuff but not sure if that helped
Thanks ill give it a try
You could try adding a Siamese algae eater, They usually control hair algae is pretty well, If your tank isn't large enough for one of those you can spot treat with peroxide with a dosing syringe, No more than 1 ml per gallon
@@TrafishAquatics ill give it a try with provide but ill will not get siamese algea eater again they started to eat the tails off of my sword tails then they end up dying
Ah that's understandable
Had new heater fail! Fryed all my fish!!!!!!!!
What kind of heater and did it get stuck on and overheat?
@@TrafishAquatics It was a SZELAM 300w in a 30 gallon tank.. It looked fine. It was dead when I got to it, so were the fish!
That's unfortunate, sounds like it overheated before it died, a heater that size will overheat an aquarium that size very fast. to prevent runaway heaters I reccomend using a heater controller, this will manually turn the heater off before it has the chance to overheat your fish
I’ve listened to you for a bit and I really like what I hear. All meat and potatoes, as they say. Continue the good work.
Thank you!
Great review and recommendation. I need to order my backups. I will definitely go with these. Thanks
You're welcome Glad you enjoyed the video!
I got one the same. 250w. Looks exactly the same £10.
Awesome! how's yours working?
If It’s good enough for you…, it’s good enough for me. I did go with a SunSun 3000 on my new 75 gal goldfish tank with a large aquarium coop sponge filter and an intake sponge
Awesome how's that set up doing so far?
@@TrafishAquatics I have 6 common goldfish and 6 Rosy Reds
3 of the gold fish are probably about a year old and 3 I have for about 3 months. It was interesting when introduced to the new tank the 2 groups of 3 stayed separate. The now have blended and the Rosy’s are dancing all over the tank 24/7. I think they like the flow of the canister filter. Within minutes of turning it on they were 100% more active. The SunSun is a beast for the price. I have 2 Sicce Whales on 2 different 55 gal tanks that I love. The SunSun was just a little more difficult to prime but I think the capacity was the way to go for these guys. I took a Nicrew light I had on a 29 gal that I think was just too bright and pancaked it on top of the 75 gal. It seems to be the perfect amount of light
That sounds like a great setup!
I have some of those. I like that the know is easy to adjust without taking it completely out of the tank.
