    Excellent basic understanding of fitment. Well done Alex. I have a red 2002 Miata LS. I purchased white CP23 Circuit Performance wheels. 16X7, +35. Tires are 205/45/16. Great fitment to keep it near stock. They were only 1 lb. more then my stock wheels that will get refurbished and stored.

    Been watching for a while, enjoy you videos. I would have thought 15x7 with a +25 to 40 offset would have been most popular well size. I’m running a 14x7 +20 wheel. I wanted to be different.

    • @AlexPerrucci

      15x7 is pretty popular too, im biased towards wider wheels though haha. Probably should have mentioned it. Nice! I'm a fan of tiny wheels on Miatas too.

      @@AlexPerrucci tiny! Lol right sized I say. From the beginning of my build I had decided I was gonna make more of a GT then some sort of track car. I have the Flyin Miata koni kit with their rear mounts. With the 195/60 tire it makes for a really good riding car.

    When I was picking out wheels, Discount Tire wouldn't "stretch" a 205/50R15 onto 15x8, so I went with 15x7.

    • @jameshamlyn4172
      @jameshamlyn4172 2 роки тому +4

      That’s not even a stretch? That’s really no different than putting a 195 on a 7” wheel.

    • @AlexPerrucci
      @AlexPerrucci  2 роки тому +3

      Yeah its hardly a stretch but big name tire shops will often give you a hard time about it.

    Good job as usual. I am happy to see I did not screw up on my wheel choice. Just got and am installing my TEIN Flex Z coilovers + waiting for my Advanti Storm 15X8 + 25 wheels.
    Now I have to decide on tires... I only want to cruise around (a little aggressive some times .... you know what I mean ;-) ) and go to car meets. (This is not my daily and I do like 4-5K summer only miles a year) I do not want to roll my fenders AND I want the best 'comfort' for this size. I don't need to slam it down but I want it low for sure... a bit higher than yours... Roads are rough up hear in Canada. I am debating a 205/50 or a 205/45?!?! I like the Toyo Proxes R1R but I am no expert. What would be your suggestion?
    Keep up the great work... love your stuff.

      16" tire sizes are weird haha. Heard good things about the R1R. I'm a big fan of the new Falken RT660. Looks like theres a decent selection in both of those sizes. the 205/50 will probably be slightly more comfortable.

    Hoping i can get some help. I just bought a stock NB miata. Im looking at the konig hypergrams. I would love to run the 15x8.5 +25 on a 225/45. I want to know if im going to have issues at stock hight, debating about a modest 0.5” drop one day. Im not too thrilled about rolling fenders, i can live not going full lock. Main concern is tire to body contact. If theres major issues i think id just go with the 15x8+35 with 205/50. Any info would be amazing.

      @AlexPerrucci  Рік тому +1

    I don’t understand the craze for wide wheels on tiny cars? You got 100hp trying to rotate huge lumps of rubber. All show no go. Throw some light skinny 6” wide rims on 185/55 or 195/50 at most and feel the car dance through the corners. Tire should match the force applied on it.

      aesthetic. when you buy a super car it comes widebodied with wheels fitting the body. most true sport cars follow that too maybe not widebody but fitted. miata is a true sport car but a base entry level one. if they gave it more hp from factory it would have gotten wider wheels and possible flares. 15/8 is actually more functional than the 6 j you want on a miata with more hp
