- I take a stock Burny Les Paul Custom and turn it in to Steve Jones' Excalibur that he played live with the Sex Pistols.
I change the pickups, pot caps and remove some of the parts. I also found the stickers

Pickups are Wilkinson M series and Seymour Duncan SH-5

Excellent job I’m glad you put a proper pickup in the bridge .. that version of Steve’s guitar deserved that Seymour pickup after all the trouble you went to sounds a lot better
Thank you for the kind words
Great job! I have the same mods on my Epi custom, including the stickers! 😊
Thank you. I’m really happy with how it has turned out. It sounds great and feels great. I imagine your Epi does too
@@porkpiepilgrim5302 Yep my Jonesy Epi sounds good!!
Ahh, i had a couple of transfers from that range, think they were from the 50s, but in Western Styling , Kensington Market, they had some in the 80s. Mine had gals with a leopard and tiger. Brian Setzer had the girl on the disc on his Gretsch in Stray Cats.
another Cracking Vid Mark..... can't believe you are not getting more views
Thanks Rich.
Good job 👏👏👏👏
If I was this handsome I’d be a gigalow and this isn’t even his strongest point the gowgeous fun filled handsome beast is full of amazing facts and help !!!! If you don’t subscribe it’s your loss . And when this god Is on 50 million hits and your not one of them ………… then you we re pre warned.
Did you darken the fretboard as well cos it looks like ebony at the end.
No. Did nothing to the fretboard, this how it came from the factory
@@porkpiepilgrim5302 Cool, Burny's make great modding platform I have the same Burny LP custom guitar (2008 model) which has yellowed and has been upgraded with Iron gear blues engine pickups, Grovers and a faber tailpiece, Also has CTS pots and orange drop capacitors. Sounds killer.
@@Edward1312 Nice, I bet it sounds and feels great.
Nice video. I was obsessed with Steve’s guitar when I was a teenager but the reissues are so expensive. Love that you just made your own.
@@porkpiepilgrim5302 I use the dark wood scratch remover oil on my rosewood fretboards. Makes it look closer to ebony.
Great job. These Chinese Burnys look great. How do they compare to Epiphone equivalent?
Thank you. They look and feel great. Not sure how they compare as I haven’t played an Epi LP for ages. This Burny feel’s quality and plays great so I think it is better than a low end Epi and better value than the more expensive Epi’s, but that is just my opinion. It’s a personal thing I suppose
Better than epiphone
@@porkpiepilgrim5302 Probably same quality but I hear Epiphone is using better electronics and a bone nut but they still have the hideous headstock. I just can't deal with that look on LPs and SGs. Rather just change everything out on a Burny. Because you know Epiphone screwed something up anyway and their pickups suck too.
