Wish me luck my wash room is small and I'm by myself this is going to be fun no no wonder my clothes stink I hv 2 dogs in afraid of waht im going to find.
I wish I could fix the problem using the old-school nintendo game trick too but a lot of these modern-day electronics unfortunately don't respond to old-school methods anymore. =(
That is cruddy design if you actually have to pull the back panel off to get to the water filter! My old LG front loader had this in a front panel, you just open the outer panel and then unscrew the filter and clean out. It should be done once a month to maintain the unit. No wonder my Duet never drains; I bet the old owners of the house never checked the water filter in 10 years... wow!
Absolutely agreed! After all, these washer/dryer sets are stackable and in fact are displayed that way on showroom floors. Our laundry "room" is actually a short hall by the back door, so short that stacking the washer & dryer was the only option. That makes it impossible to access/remove the back panel (to get to a filter in the back) or lift the washer onto blocks (to facilitate removing the lower front panel if the pump filter is in front). The engineering is even more needlessly cumbersome for changing the gasket. You're supposed to remove the top panel in order to remove the control panel, dispenser tray and door panel. Again - impossible with a dryer sitting on top of the washer. Anything the owner can repair, replace or maintain themselves should be accessible from the front of the machine, with minimal disassembly required. Just saying... After considerable time and effort wrangling the gasket to deep clean all the disgusting gunk trapped underneath - ew!
I had no clue you had to do this ! Maybe if it was on the front I would have investigated it. Heck I’m 70 & I’m trying to figure this out. If it’s broke…then I’ll either have to buy a machine that doesn’t match in style or color & I just bought the new dryer like 3 years ago. Pain in the but !!!
I am having the E01 F01 code nightmare! I removed the filter 🤢 and it was disgusting! I removed the black hose that was clamped on the back and dug out almost $10 worth in coins! Of course no one owns up to being responsible for that! 🤨 But it’s still not working. 🤦🏼♀️ Any more ideas one of you can throw my way?
There is a sensor located in the top of the washer that is probably gone bad. Try unplugging it and leave it unplugged for like 5-10 minutes and see if it works also. Sometimes it will reset itself
@@RunwithBrad I’ll try that! I’m wedged in here behind it now. I’m going to flush the hoses out like you did, just so I can say I did it too 😬 and then I’ll go from there. So you spend money on a repair or better yet buy a new one- but they are screwing themselves, as I will never buy another WP if the trap is not in the front. Bet that genius lost his job
Stupidest design ever! Making the filter so inaccessible is a poor design decision by Whirlpool engineers. What were they thinking!?! The Duet stacked washer/dryers came with the condo I bought. The towels always have a funky moldy smell after a couple of days after a wash. I now have to seriously consider buying a new washer/dryer set by another manufacturer because of this stupid filter design. Filter access will be #1 must-have on my future machine buy.

Repeat as necessary until no gunk comes out. Then tell your partner it was a huge job and that you're a hero not giving up and not calling a plumber.
🤣 your a genius!!
I wish I understood the easy way-but I don’t🤷♀️🙄
That's not going to get any socks or AA batteries out of the filter 😂
Did you ever do the 2nd video?
Haven’t had too, ever since I cleaned the filter, it didn’t show code again. I also unplugged washer for 5 minutes which is something else I researched and it has been working fine
@@RunwithBrad I drained the filter (didn't really clean it... or tried to look into it).. .the water was pretty clear coming out, so I didn't think to clean it... but didn't really clean it or take off the hose(s). We've been getting the error codes for awhile now. Decided to just order a new drain pump. Might get back into it again tonight, see if the internal hose has any type of clog. Thank you!
My Whirlpool washer is showing F8 E3 and the door is locked. Even if I unplug it to restart, it still says F8 E3. Don’t know what’s the problem.
If you look under the top panel there is a book for maintenance and it has all the codes.
did you open filter drain from the rear or can you open from side?
Went through the rear, do not see side entry point. The drain is at an awkward position
Sometimes taking on a something like this can be daunting and a huge inconvenience which, don't get me wrong it is! But hopefully this video will show you its not that bad!! Thanks for watching and checkout some of my other content!
YES! Thank you soo much! I felt really great that I could fix this problem...Except that it's not finished...can't seem to screw the cap back on....Help???
Isn't that the out water filter? So that would be it's what's off your close...not what's going into the clothes.
That is correct Marikie Marie
Damn it, man!!! Hate when that happens!!!
That’s why I don’t have that POS any more 😆
Wat is SD code meen as well
Not sure, i'll have to do some research
Suds code. either too much detergent being loaded, or not using h e detergent.
What does code SD meen
Sadly Dysfunctional, sorry I don’t know
And did that fix it?
For the most part, sometimes I will get an error code and I’ll unplug it till it completely powers off and then plug it back in and it works fine.
@@RunwithBrad That's what I've found to do as well
I’m sure, if I would just replace the sensor it would be fixed all together though
@@RunwithBrad Oh...in the video you talked about it, I thought maybe you had done that.
Thanks
@@jaykrappenshitz4992 Had all intentions too, but didn't have any problems for months after cleaning filter, then I resorted to unplugging it. I have a ton of content, you should consider subscribing!
Wish me luck my wash room is small and I'm by myself this is going to be fun no no wonder my clothes stink I hv 2 dogs in afraid of waht im going to find.
Oh man!! Good luck Tommy! I have a new washer now, thank God haha. Let me know if I can help
I wish I could fix the problem using the old-school nintendo game trick too but a lot of these modern-day electronics unfortunately don't respond to old-school methods anymore. =(
For real though!!
That is cruddy design if you actually have to pull the back panel off to get to the water filter! My old LG front loader had this in a front panel, you just open the outer panel and then unscrew the filter and clean out. It should be done once a month to maintain the unit. No wonder my Duet never drains; I bet the old owners of the house never checked the water filter in 10 years... wow!
You are probably right and the next time I purchase one, I am making sure it is easily accessible. Please subscribe! I have a ton of other content!
Whenever I try to remove the filter didn’t work didn’t came out how you do it????
thank you for your comment! Is it the same exact model?
I used a tool to grasp the handle to use my arm instead of my wrist to push
Mine are stacked, so my dryer is on top of the washer. I was trying to be all tough and do it myself before I call for a tech. #shortgirlproblems
@@DrKLightsey Me too! and I was really proud of myself for getting as far as cleaning out the filter. But now I can't seem to screw the cap back on. It won't tighten. I'd hate to have to call a technician now....
@@marjelana oh no! It isn’t double threaded is it? It’s in such a cramped space! I know how hard it is to get your hand (and knuckles) in there. I decided to get a 4” hole saw and ended up cutting a hole in the front of my washer so I could get to the darned thing. I did all that, and it didn’t fix the problem. I have a burnt out connector on one of the computer boards in mine. $275 that I’m trying to decide if I want to buy. They won’t take it back if that doesn’t fix my problem. 🙄🤦🏼♀️
@@DrKLightsey Yikes! They sure don't make repair easy...
Sometimes the only thing you need to do is unplug it and leave it unplug for a minute and it will reset and work again
Yes I also find that unplugging my appliances does a really good job of cleaning their filters!
I hate the design of this model of washing machine. The drain filter on the washing machine we had before was much easier to access via the front kickplate.
You are not kidding Jon!! Consider subscribing, I just created a Home Improvement playlist that I am going to start updating more. Thanks for your comment
Instead of your mirror, use your cell phone in video mode. 5:01
🤔
What causes this ?
I will have a video revisiting later this week actually
@@RunwithBrad I think the same thing happened last year and I wasn’t here during repair but my wife said they told her we use too much soap🤷🏼♂️. We use the pods
Why the hell did they make it so hard to reach 🤬
No kidding!!
So you spend money on a repair or better yet buy a new one- but they are screwing themselves, as I will never buy another WP if the trap is not in the front. Bet that genius lost his job
cool
For something so important to do wtf do they make it so it’s impossible to get! Seriously! This is insane!
For real though
This design is absurd. Why not have a readily available clean-out. You have to dismantle the machine and it's in an incredibly awkward place. Crazy.
No kidding!! It’s such a pain in the butt!!
@@RunwithBrad Wish me luck, brother, I'm doing it today after seeing your video.
Worst desiign to put the drain plug in the back. Pain in the azz to get too.
Foreal
Use your phone next time and take a pic inside the drain
Next time take a picture with the phone
Definitely!!
I wonder if it’s better to get wheels for this unit since we have to pull it out to access the back 😒 they designed this for hobbits apparently…
That’s a great idea!
No kidding!! I have a new one now
please get rid of the music, it is distracting
thanks for the feedback 🤙
