- part 7 in my Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled developer time trial series! This was probably the most successful video yet, even though there were a few moments of pain throughout. I completed 3 tracks in the video and offline (gameplay at end) I completed 2 more. I did complete 5 in part 4, but they were the easiest 5, these were all tough minus Electron Avenue and Mystery Caves

He's probably the best player among the devs,that's why there are so many trials done by him.

When you finish the dev trials you should equip all the rarest and hard to get items:
-Digital N.Tropy
-Platinum Relic Paintjob
-Champion Kart with Velo decal
-Master wheels
It would be so sick to see a video like that.
I think master wheels make velo decal and digital n tropy redundant.

Problem with that set up is that no one will race you online
Honestly only the master wheels are hard to obtain. The rest is super easy in comparison.

Yeah, for being the beginner baby track, Crash Cove is surprisingly difficult with its time trials. Guess they want to set a precedent for what you're gonna be up against.
That was the case with the original CTR as well. That was one of the hardest oxide times to beat.
It's probably because it's super short and has almost no obstacles in it, so they want you to drive almost perfectly.
And it's break time at work, which means another daily dose of Lewis losing his mind at Nitro-fueled

Lewis, just want to say thank you. Thanks to you I beat Velo in Deep Sea Driving by taking your advice on not drifting in the tunnels.
Because of that I beat Velo by 2 seconds and shaved 10 seconds off my personal best. Keep up the good work man. I have respect for you.

If it makes you feel any better, you're either facing a. Programmers who know how the game works from the inside out, b. Playtesters who probably played each track hundreds of times, or c. level designers who know the exact geometry of the tracks cuz they made them.
And look at the bright side... if you beat all these time trials, online will be fuckin' easy

This series is way more satisfying than someone one-shotting all of the courses. It's great seeing you build your kart muscles.

Much respect. The CTR time trials are no joke. You need so much focus and concentration to hold flame and run 3 perfect laps (luckily, sometimes the attempt can at least be near-perfect and you can still win).
Any small mistake can cost you valuable time and it can be extremely frustrating. Some ghosts _require_ you to master each shortcut. This game can be a total mood swing on some races! 😅

You should make a soundboard for "What the hell was that? I didn't even hit it!" So you could play it approx. 3 times a minute while playing Out of time.
I renamed that map to Out of will to live after the dev trial, Dragon mines took me 1/5 of the time it took me to do OoT... good luck tho

Learning so much from your videos, dude. Only 5 more Velo times to do. Drive-Thru Danger, my pb is within 1 second so that should be easy. Tiny Arena I haven' tried yet. Out of Time I attempted a few times and I'm tacky close. Cortex Castle and Oxide Station, I've never tried U-turning so these are a little tricky. Going to try and finish them all before RE3make at midnight.

Don't give on those next two. Slide Coliseum is pretty hard, you'll be behind the William P. for most of the track, but I found him easy catch up in the third lap if you maintain a solid line (trajectory) through the track and keep your speed. Just do whatever the dev does.
Turbo Track on the other hand... Be sure to look at a tutorial before going into it. The grass is even harder to deal with than in Slide Coliseum. You'll have to memorize how many times to slide, boost and jump, which turbo pads to hit, the angles from which to jump into the grass, how wide to take some curves, how to enter the "S" and how to exit from it in order to take the boost pad William P. skips over, among other small details. I'm telling you, man, it was a nightmare to me. But be persistent and I know you'll get it.
A little tip on TT and Slide Coliseum:
--In Turbo Track he mess up a little on the last lap.
--In Slide Coliseum William goes a little to the left on the fourth pile of wheels,so make sure to cut to the right side and u-turn.If you will turn slightly faster than him you'll be able to catch up,or get a small lead.
Quick tip for anyone who's just now getting around to trying the dev trials that's been working for me so far: Do ring rally on Crash Cove and practice U-turning the first corner while keeping the Blue Flame, get ground U-turning down first, then quick U-turning (hopping and swiftly doing the input) then add drifting into it.
Obviously this won't be perfect practice since you can't get Blue Flame on Crash Cove in the time trial, but getting that level of control will be immensely helpful, I haven't beaten the time yet myself, but I'm already far better at the input after like 2 hours of practice

Not gonna lie. this got really intense. i was sooo nervous when the william was centimeters away from passing you in the last lap. Great job my guy!
I did notice something tho. you boost a little to early when drifting(not always), and you're hitting the corners a little to close to home making you lose your flames. Thats why i think the William always passed you constantly. I think if you wait untill the boost gauge goes all the way and then tap to boost,you might keep you speed and flames perfectly to either catch up or simply not even get passed at all from the other developer times.

Crash Cove's simplicity is what makes it so unbearably difficult. No room for error and no places to make up time.
You definitely have the skill to win those master wheels. For a while I thought I'd never be able to, but eventually did.
Don't give up. Giving up only wastes your sacred fire.
Congrats on getting Crash Cove done and don’t worry you’ll get those tires eventually I know you will do it. Here’s a small tip for you, before the race starts instead of pressing the accelerate button once when the light turns green, try to press the accelerate button repeatedly to get a bigger boost at the start than just pressing it once.

I finally was able to beat Slide Coliseum after studying a world record vid for better lines but Im still ramming my head against the wall for turbo track, I just dont know how to improve my time other than by just getting better at the U-turn section which seems impossible

honestly. i switched back to the OG kart. with small wheels. it makes hugging those corners far easier as the kart model is tighter.
We are working through these almost at the same pace. i just spent yesterday doing nina's nightmare, electron, prehistoric and roo's tubes.

I raced on Electron Avenue so many times in Single Race and Ring Rally to grind wumpa coins that I beat the developer on my first try making this easier than Tiny Arena for me!

I'm assuming they just cheated somehow but if a blue flame is actually impossible on that map then I'd know for sure.

Yeah, took me some tries, glad I have done it. I have done things in order so far and have beat the times for Crash Cove and Dragon Mines, which I was happy with. Dragon Mines wasn't as hard as I would have thought, I just had a tendency to mess up. Now I am at Hot Air Skyway, but I skipped Turbo Track when I got to it, and I really want to get used to u-turning, so I am doing for now. I am really bad at u-turning.

Just a quick tip, always go for perfect boosts when you can. They add way more to your reserves than "good" boosts.

I've beaten Oxide on about half of them (15/30). I probably cant beat Oxide on all 30 but the fact I've beaten him on 15 tracks is still pretty impressive.

In general williams times seem to be particularly hard. I would say you have a good few hard ones done for me velo cortex castle was hardest velo. Crash cove is possibly the hardest of all.
