As someone who considers themselves a casual racer watching your videos gave me enough confidence to try Oxide Time Trials. And after a few days I finally beat him on all the tracks. Even managed to get the platinum trophy too.

I just did Hyper Spaceway too and I struggled keeping the flames too... But wait till you get to Prehistoric Playground... Man I had over 80 attempts on that one... The hardest track for me so far! :O
I've been playing nirto fueled since its release and it's crazy how greatly you can improve your skills in this game; by watching others, racing online, or just by playing jungle boogie over and over again grinding for skins. I remember before the grand prixs started where it took me weeks on end just to unlock n. tropy and after that I swore I'd never play time trial mode ever again. But now, after months of practice and watching these videos of how much you've improved and how determined you've been, I've recently gone back to face Oxide and surprisingly beat a few Velo times along the way. Some of these dev-trial videos are painful to watch just because I can feel that secondhand struggle as you go through each attempt, but I get just as excited as you when the words "You beat a Developer!" finally appear. I don't think I'm ready for the dev-trials because I still use Acceleration and I kinda suck still, but watching your determination makes me want to try. Amazing work dude! And stop saying you're bad at this game, you've beaten William P. for God's sake! Good luck on the rest of 'em ❤

Attempt 15 you have over the top reserves. Play back that meter you had a full bar thru a few chains. Love that shyt 9:40 ish. Then u used that to win it. That was fire bro. One sided figure 8 and going left on 1st ramp is the only thing you could have got some more breathin room with. Good Pb there my dude
Here’s just some help for Gingerbread Joyride. 1. To get into the shortcut easier, do a triple drift before you jump. 2. While you’re in the shortcut, immediately to your left is a lump of snow. Go to the right side of the pile and jump and it gives you good distance. But be careful, if you go too far to the left then you will hit a weird hitbox and lose all of your speed. 3. To avoid the Jellies easier, jump over the corner at the top of the ramp so that you can see them and have more time to react.
Nice work on hyper spaceway! For anyone else who is having trouble holding blue fire after the end of the laps, what I like to do is start a drift on the very last pad of the lap and mid air drift boost as I go through the last teleporter. Then start another drift and do some more mid air boosting as you go down the big ramp. This helps build some reserves where you otherwise would be losing them
Lewis, got a tip for you on Slide Coliseum, make sure you get a full boost gauge if possible before you boost in a power slide, getting enough height with a jump over a tire is sort of timing and luck based, stay off the grass if you don’t have enough reserves, hop repeatedly on grass to maintain speed, and u turn out of wall or tires to dodge them to save your reserves, that’s how I did it. Good luck, you got this.
you did the advanced technique twice in a raw at 14:38 to reuse the jump bar boost (everytime you jump the jump bar boost get reset, the idea is to not jump to keep that bar up. You big jump once to get that bar loaded and then you have to powerslide while landing and, if you get airborn again during that langing powerslide, you can retrigger the jump bar releasing the jump button and landing again on a slide)
I would suggest to drift going through the portal before the "8" section instead of jumping. I think that little adjustment and you don't have as much reserve issues
The dev times makes us feel better playing CTR, I mean I never utilized U-turn on any circuits until I learnt it on Turbo track (watched some vids), and that's where my gameplay has improved!
12:46 you have to jump over the two lasers and immediately start drifting 2 times (one before and the second boost THROUGH the portal) that’s why you’re not holding reserves
I just beat my final Dev Trial (Turbo Track, 144 attempts), and god it feels so good to finally have done all of them. Keep going bud, you're almost there!
Guys... fun fact: Remember someone here commented about "getting EXACTLY same time as dev time and winning and or losing"?! And another comment that this game counts "BEYOND milliseconds"?! Well, i just had an encounter with this myself... and a PROOF that whoever said that this game counts beyond milliseconds... is indeed true. So, i was trying to SUB 2:10 on N.gin labs.... and... i finished the time trial... and my time was EXACT 2:10:00. BUT, in the best time/ n.tropy's ghost time etc etc menu... it said 2:09:99, ALSO when i calculated the time myself via counting up 3 laps... ...the time technically should have been 2:09:98. So there is definitely something else to the timer that counts beyond on what we see. Just thought sharing that with ya all. ;D
I've gotta say I love that they made the magnet thing start from the left position in the Assembly Lane remake. I've been doing the Velo ghosts on CNK recently and trying to hit the box so it moves and you can take tighter lines is a pain in the ass sometimes.
Lewis if you want more boost of turbo you jump and get hanging meter filled up and you can abuse it... how?... well if you have hang meter filled up it lasts 2 seconds unless you drift... with drifts you are able to hold it 6 and more seconds... based on how many drifts youre able to do without jumping... and now if you have hang meter filled up and youre drifting while you are in the air (it means the next edge you wont jump but just drift) you will let go off drifting and then right before you land youll press and hold drift button in order to go into another drift... if you do this... you will see that once you land you get extra turbo boost from previous jump if your hang meter was filled up... and this you can do over and over while you are able to keep hang meter filled up with drifts... in thunderstruck for example youre able on the beggining until you hit blue fire pad make reserves for 1 and half next lap
Meteor Gorge was hard af. For me there were only 3 tracks that I struggled with. Turbo Track, Meteor Gorge and Slide Colliseum. Out of Time took me max 5 attempts so it's often personal
I think the hardest 3 for me were Turbo Track, Dragon Mines and Megamix Mania (took me a bit longer than Meteor Gorge). Out of time didn't find it that hard either, maybe because they fixed some collisions. I have my TV placed high up, so I can't see dark things that good (unless I play while standing which isn't comfortable) like the bump to do the second snow skip on Meteor Gorge or the entrance of the minecart shortcut on Dragon Mines. That plus I never really play those tracks made them particularly hard for me.
Turbo track is literally the really really really easy dev when you know what to do same thing with slide coliseoum Btw out of time is the hardest with 100+ attempts for me same thing with megamix mania
Watching you do these make me want to attempt the time trials not even dev lol I’ve haven’t even finished Oxide times. I’ve got Velo done on Roo’s Tubes and Deep Sea Driving, but can’t for the life of me do Oxide on something like Twilight Tour.
just a tip, if you dont jump at the ramp. 9:36 you do not gain any altitude for the reserve. notice how the meter doesn't move. you're drifting off the ledge, this isnt calculating it as a jump and thats how you're losing reserves so easy.
Can someone explain to me why you have to restart when you lose your flame? If your right next to a turbo pad that gives blue fire, why does it matter?
I grinded the everloving shit out of Hyper Spaceway months before the dev times came out. It was the only track I had a better highscore than the dev before I made an attempt. It helps to know that you don't have to hit the portal directly.
