the reason your hands hurt after doing the boost around the whole lap trophy is probably because you switched to the alternate control scheme, the game was designed around the drift boosts, and holding R2 and having to constantly pay attention to boosting with L1 and R1 is just really uncomfortable, that is why acceleration is set to X by default, so you can keep your index and middle fingers free to move and control the jumping and drifts.
As a very seasoned vet of this game and the original being one of 4 games I played growing up, beating adventure mode on hard is actually a decent challenge. And that's coming from someone who has beat all the Velo ghosts and some of the developer ghosts.
I actually 100% all the game and its DLC that Velo's and Developers were super tough but I did em all. Got the Master Wheels as well as the main prize for defeating all the developer times.
As someone who did all the dev ghosts, booting the game up once a year for a hard adventure mode session utterly destroys me the first few races. Not only do I have to refresh muscle memory, the early tracks are also the hardest to shave off time without any blue fire to get a safe lead.
Nice work on getting the platinum. Nitro-Fueled is one of those games where the actual difficulty completely depends on if you’re good. For me, I’ve always been good at keeping Ultra Sacred Fire so I didn’t have too much trouble getting the platinum. But of course not everyone is going to be good at it. If anyone needs help, switching engines to Drift or Speed definitely helps. Also, if you can get used to the D-Pad that helps a lot with turning around corners (Especially the U-Turn and Mid-Air Breaking. Anyway again, great work getting the Platinum!
I have to agree with that based on my own experience I played the original game and Nitro Kart back when they first came out and found myself having a pretty easy time with getting the platinum trophy for Nitro Fuelled. Some difficult parts definitely most notable one being the Oxide Time Trial for Sewer Speedway which was before the game got patched to make the shortcut on that a bit easier to get
@@MrPerfect2000Z I eventually defeated Oxide without the Shortcut back then and was VERY GLAD when I noticed it's patched when Velo times got introduced.

@@jtplays1 It's one of those games where when it clicks, It's super satisfying :D (It takes me a while to focus to finish a video so may take a day but will watch it all) Good luck with Rumble, I heard they were killing servers or stopping support soon so hopefully that doesn't affect the player base and you can get the Plat without any issues.
I needed this video exactly to get the Platinum Trophy. I am now playing Crash CTR on the hard difficulty and this is the best video to watch while resting your fingers after the race xd
In case you still need help, I would recommend changing the engine type to Drift or Speed (Drift being the overall better. However, Speed is still faster) and also using the D-Pad to Steer. As strange as it might sound it’s actually a lot more accurate and lets you make sharper turns and thus save times in the time trials. This helped me a lot and eventually was able to hold Sacred Fire/Ultra Sacred Fire for entire races and get really fast times and make hard mode easier.
Thank you for all these tips. Indeed, changing the type of engine helps a lot, but I will need a long time to get used to the new driving, especially using the D-Pad, because it is strange and I have never used it before👍
It's been years zince I played but I don't remember Hard being that difficult. Legitimately one of the hardest openings was the first level with only one shortcut. Later levels are easier with more shortcuts and the NPCs are fast but never use them. I never went for full completion though, did that on a Normal playthrough. You need to understand and use the drift mechanics though. EDIT: I got the platinum using the Acceleration style kart and used the thumbstick for steering. I knew all the shortcuts and mastered the boosting mechanics but at the time I didn't understand advanced mechanics like the air brake. So the point is I got a really good understanding of the game but there was still more and it wasn't required to to get the platinum.
I honestly could jump into Hard out the gate having played and mostly beaten the original CTR and Nitro Kart. But that setting clearly is for the people that know and have mastered the mechanics pretty well. Driving without any knowledge of the few boost mechanics is a guaranteed last place on hard. But for a few tips... SPAM DRIFT BOOSTS. This is going to keep you at top speeds a lot more. This is also why a trophy wants you to hold your boost for an entire lap, and 2 other trophies want you to chain boosts. You'll make hard FAR less challenging with this. Also try to get the starting boost too. If you accelerate at the right time when you're starting the race, you can fly right off the line. Also can be used when you're placed back onto the track if you fall off iirc. Try to get timing on jump boosts too. Greatly helps. You can also flatten other racers with the boost powerup. This is pretty obscure though, so I'm not surprised most don't know this. Lastly, you may want to hold powerups from time to time. That trophy for blocking a missile with a bomb, TNT, or potion? yeah, that's a hint on how you can deal with some of the powerup spam hard does. And if you think Hard difficulty is no joke... don't even try Velo time trials, platinum relics, nor online without knowing these tips inside and out.
Small pro tip for the tight corners like the one in Dragon Mines: If you hold the down direction while using the square button handbrake, you won't lose your Sacred/Blue Fire ;) Reserves is a big hidden mechanics too, basically every boost pad/drift boost you make add to a hidden reserves counter that will elongate the boost time. So if you got enough reserves, you could just go in a straight line for 30s still holding your Blue Fire. Mastering the reserves is how you'll get from good to great in this game. I love CTR it's the best kart racer mechanically IMO, the fact that I played for 630h without getting bored doesn't make me biased at all :D
I did the dev times a year and a bit ago It’s the second hardest thing I’ve ever done in a game and to this day it’s the sole reason I struggle to revisit ctr since it actually makes everything else in the game feel Easy af and like a joke
@@Jhas14ducks What is THE hardest thing you've done in gaming? Also, are you able to record and upload gameplay videos? If so, I have a mini request (dont worry, no racing involced).
Over 20 year vet of the game. So for the "Photo Finish" I got it by winning a online race so fast no one finished the race. When you win a race the others have 30 sec to finish, if they don't they're time comes out as 0:00:00, this for some reason triggers the achivement.
Meanwhile be glad you didn't have to true 100% because those platinum relics are torture on some races. Also the Dev times are at speedrun levels of skill.
I played during every Season of the game. Unlocked all Skins and Cosmetics (even the Top 5% stuff during each Season) and even beat the impossible Dev Time Trials. This was game insane. Took me 400 hours. I would never suggest anyone doing this.
Correction it is a remake not a remaster, if it was a remaster it would’ve had the same graphics as the PS1 version just with smoother graphics and it is just ported to current Gen consoles, a remake is when an old game is made from scratch with modernized graphics.

I got all the trophies except for the time trials, even did adventure mode 100% on hard my first playthrough. 3 hours of not beating Oxide on the very first time trial was enough for me.
It's a good thing we don't need the Velo time trials or the Platinum Relics... those are a nightmare to do. Also, beating all oxide times was how you unlock him in the original. I think the Velo times are the original oxide times, but oxide in the original had maxed out cart stats in all 3 categories.

I have played this game professionally for 3 months... To get the Lambo skin when it was released. It was fucked up... Required me to play for 1-3 hours a day. To get the daily and weekly challenges completed. I love this game with the bottom of my heart. But the dev trials killed my entire motivation.
With the controls, you can use either L1 or R1 to initiate a boost when using standard controls. The button you didn't use to start the drift will give you the boost. As arguably a veteran of Crash Bandicoot games, I beat it on Classic difficulty to 101%. I started a new Nitro Fuelled save and beat it on hard, but not to 100%. The crystal challenges caused the biggest problem on my way to platinum. Got to drift to win. Keep that fire up.
I took this remake as a love letter from the devs. The feeling of having the USF during races is so satisfaying and it has a really good challenge: devs time trials Im sad it didnt come to PC because i don't touch my ps4 anymore but man i loved every second of this remake . The caption said Im gonna hear it, but the voice clearly Said “I don’t wanna hear it” hahah just a comment. Love the vid! Ctr was a childhood favourite
I grew up with crash playing the OG one many years ago, believe me when I tell you, hard mode per se is a different beast but it is way too rewarding once you beat it.
Good job on this! Imo, the only truly tough trophies are the ones that ask Hard difficulty Adventure Mode and Oxide ghosts. Can you explain the 26:17 stats? Btw U-Turn tip for PS4 players: reconfigure buttons (swap down dpad with L2) and this makes u-turn easy. You just hold down L2 and press square+R1.
Didn't neq about the blue gem trick. Had to do the level twice because the first time Crash walked threw the gem without picking it up. So twice without brealing a crate and without dying. I hate still that level.
CTR is my favourite kart game! I still got the original one and damn I had so much fun back in the days and also with the remastered. Spent lots of hours in the last one, it seemed like I went back in time when I was a kid
I know your pain. I platinumed this over the grieving period of my grandmother and my thumb was trashed for weeks because of that bastard dragon mines! Literally the only track that I struggled on! I never want to race that exact track again!
i play hard cups in general so playing in story mode on was walk in the park since i played all cups on hard a hand full of times. oxides trophies on the other hand was a nightmare and headache. some races took 30 tries and others took 50 or more tries but i was pround to platnum.
In the perspective of a beginner/casual, it can bring some difficulty. Comments already mentioned that the game being "not that hard" is just people who have played the game before.
By far my favourite game from my childhood yes I’m that old I did eventually platinum this this year after getting into trophy hunting 260 hours of fun and adventure I still play this game every now and then for fun. Standard settings plus I did all the platinum grind with stick drift😂.
Fun fact some of these trophies couldve been grouped together... like the drifting and boost related ones along side the time trial ones... since all of that goes hand in hand
@Caddicarus gonna beat ya! You've still got the old games to 100% beat. And on the run also as there are time trial relics too and also 100% completion too? Should do a challenge live with him.
I got like a year ago or maybe even 2 every trophy besides playing through the game on hard, it's just too hard When I played on normal I thought I am pro already but when I switched to hard I couldn't even be 1st on a first track lmao
I kinda hate that I discovered your channel because ive been replaying the N-Sane trilogy myself recently and now you've tempted me to go for these trophies myself..... thanks?
I will say a big part of your fingers hurting likely came from the control style you were using, since I don't think I had any problems while playing with the classic control style. Also as a whole using the shoulder buttons to drift means you can just hold X down, and put more attention to timing your boosts. So I had to raise an eyebrow when you recommended switching, it's a person to person thing, but I personally think original controls feel better over all.
27:36 So i think what happens here honestly is that obviously milliseconds are the only thing recorded here, however there is smaller (frames etc) because even people who tie to the milisecond can still lose races. So likely what occured here was that in what was NOT being tracked, you were just barely faster
To everyone saying "this game is more of a remake than it is remaster", listen to yourself rn: The devs even stated it was originally going to be a Remaster, but got turned into a Remake Instead, fully focusing on how fun it is to play as well, beginner or veteran as well. However, to toughen up old veterans, they intentionally made the higher difficulties much higher to teach us veterans a lesson, & not get too cocky because they provide more of a challenge for seasoned veterans as well; The problem of course being the meme in the beginning as well: If someone is going to play it on whatever difficulty they like, they are going to get SHREKT, HARDCORE STYLE because their actions didn't consider the possibility of it being too hard from itself as well, stimming the possibility of the meme itself as well. And for Veterans who are good at it, Veterans who successfully beat the Dev Times are rewarded with Master Wheels, & are still obtainable if you are new to the game, offering a decent challenge to those willing to up their games a little bit as well. The problem being precisely that as well. Of course, when faced with such adversity, most players stem to abusing those who are clinically disabled or hurt, which only furthers the get gud mentality altogether, creating the toxic environment altogether as a "git gud" type of game altogether, as one that relies more on skill than actual chance as well. This takes in the dichotomy of Diddy Kong Racing & MK8DX & Hybridizes them both together to create a brand new kart racing game that is also familiar to old veterans as well, who have also played the old game as well. Case in point being, don't be assholes like Blizzard, since this is a psyops from them.
Tbh I didn’t have as hard of a time on the plat. Idk if it’s just because of how many hours I sunk into the game but I was addicted on day 1. (It’s in my top 3 most played) I was hoping they would add a ps5 upgrade so I can plat it again. even though they said they won’t be updating the game.
The way he plays the game hurts my soul. Games plat is really easy if you ppayed it right. For those that don't know, all you have to do is keep drifting with perfect timing. Not good timing. Do it consecutively and you'll be able to keep the boost/flames
One of the first trophy what i got 4 hour after release the "Yeeee HAW!" 2019 06. 21. 4 :20 (Crash Cove is 1 hour from this) and get "Woah!" at 2019 06. 25. 22 : 03. It was a wild run.
as someone who played the game religiously in the past and gotten almost all the Dev time trial records because I could, thank *GOD* there isn't a trophy for going after the dev times in the game... they make the Oxide's times look like a *JOKE* by a long shot. but if you want to give yourself arthritis, by all means, go for the dev times but I personally don't recommend it at all in all honesty
On Hard mode, the cpu racers average speed will be faster than yours. The only way to beat them is to get lucky with items or keep a boost pad reserve for the entire race. your boosted speed will be higher than their racing speed.
getting the crystal challenge trophy is so annoying the hit boxses on these crystals are so small you drive through them and it dosent pick it up its like picking them up with your butt cheeks fml
You should give the dev times a go. You have to maintain your Blue flame for all 3 laps. You think Dragon mines is hard? Try Turbo. If you master U-Turning, it will be easier.
Doing the hardest difficulty on a game that is already hard isn't gonna do much, and usually it seems that doing things on the hardest difficulty seems to be common enough that you might as well just get it over with.
the reason your hands hurt after doing the boost around the whole lap trophy is probably because you switched to the alternate control scheme, the game was designed around the drift boosts, and holding R2 and having to constantly pay attention to boosting with L1 and R1 is just really uncomfortable, that is why acceleration is set to X by default, so you can keep your index and middle fingers free to move and control the jumping and drifts.

Am not sure you will see this or read it, but I follow many, you are the only one from few who platinum games which makes you enjoyed them, and not any game just “for work” . You play them because you want to
You deserve more subscribers
You need to practice U turn to keep your blue fire easier.
I have more than 300hours in this game but im not play anymore cause there is no more update and monthly new characters but he's still good to see someone enjoy this game 🙂
The caption said Im gonna hear it, but the voice clearly
Said “I don’t wanna hear it” hahah just a comment. Love the vid! Ctr was a childhood favourite
Also, rare view? That’s smart but it is simply called rear view
Probably my Aussie accent or pronunciation 😅
@@jtplays1 I get that, haha I too am an aussie
I grew up with crash playing the OG one many years ago, believe me when I tell you, hard mode per se is a different beast but it is way too rewarding once you beat it.
Good job on this! Imo, the only truly tough trophies are the ones that ask Hard difficulty Adventure Mode and Oxide ghosts.
Can you explain the 26:17 stats?
Btw U-Turn tip for PS4 players: reconfigure buttons (swap down dpad with L2) and this makes u-turn easy. You just hold down L2 and press square+R1.
That was my childhood favorite game 😢❤ I didn't know it was remastered till now
Didn't neq about the blue gem trick. Had to do the level twice because the first time Crash walked threw the gem without picking it up. So twice without brealing a crate and without dying. I hate still that level.
I see that you collect Platinum Trophies. Maybe you wanna give a shot to Crypt of the Necrodancer *maniacal laughter*
I'm good for now 😂
CTR is my favourite kart game! I still got the original one and damn I had so much fun back in the days and also with the remastered. Spent lots of hours in the last one, it seemed like I went back in time when I was a kid
Knew you could do it bro😮💨🔥
Thanks bro!
Man i thought i was the only guy who after playing this game for extended periods of time had their hands raw...
My cousin played the original CTR he would always come in first. And that game is why now I don’t like racing games lolol
I’m working on beating the game on hard difficulty and ai are no joke they want on dark souls mode on me
excited for the vid on crash team rumble been enjoying this series so far
For me tiny temple was by far the hardest time trial as you had to have perfect sacred fire for the entire last two laps
In the perspective of a beginner/casual, it can bring some difficulty. Comments already mentioned that the game being "not that hard" is just people who have played the game before.
Trying to get a full boost lap on Blizzard Bluff is certainly one of the strategies of all time.
By far my favourite game from my childhood yes I’m that old I did eventually platinum this this year after getting into trophy hunting 260 hours of fun and adventure I still play this game every now and then for fun. Standard settings plus I did all the platinum grind with stick drift😂.
Nice man keep it up🔥
CTRNF is super easy to plat. I did it in less than a day. By far the best Kart racing game out there.
Fun fact some of these trophies couldve been grouped together... like the drifting and boost related ones along side the time trial ones... since all of that goes hand in hand
Its the time trials for oxide and ntrophy that are just ridiculous
@Caddicarus gonna beat ya! You've still got the old games to 100% beat. And on the run also as there are time trial relics too and also 100% completion too? Should do a challenge live with him.
I got like a year ago or maybe even 2 every trophy besides playing through the game on hard, it's just too hard
When I played on normal I thought I am pro already but when I switched to hard I couldn't even be 1st on a first track lmao
Nice!
30 hours at least just for time trials for like one trophy. Hell nah.
Your math is always so off when you're telling how close you were to failing/succeeding a time trial :P
Man I hope they port both Rumble and NF to PC
01:23 HAHAHAHAHAHAHA not only 5 years late to the party but you consider Oxide’s times the difficult ones??? that’s adorable
Not everyone plays all the games as soon as they come out, what a fucking stupid comment.
As a speed runner of nitro fueled and the original seeing you not drift boosting hurts me
This is the only video game that hurts my hands after only a few races. Maybe the u-turn mechanic is just brutal on my hands.
Finally he's BAAAAAAAAAAACK!
What did you think of this games mechanics compared to Mario Kart?
To everyone saying "this game is more of a remake than it is remaster", listen to yourself rn:
The devs even stated it was originally going to be a Remaster, but got turned into a Remake Instead, fully focusing on how fun it is to play as well, beginner or veteran as well. However, to toughen up old veterans, they intentionally made the higher difficulties much higher to teach us veterans a lesson, & not get too cocky because they provide more of a challenge for seasoned veterans as well;
The problem of course being the meme in the beginning as well: If someone is going to play it on whatever difficulty they like, they are going to get SHREKT, HARDCORE STYLE because their actions didn't consider the possibility of it being too hard from itself as well, stimming the possibility of the meme itself as well.
As a seasoned player, even the hard setting for career mode was quite difficult 😰
2/10 difficulty for me. Probably because CTR is my favorite videogame since 1999
I would say around 6/10 difficulty for me and im also a fan but since 2007 or so lol
Look Nice. Can the local coop split screen possible?
Tbh I didn’t have as hard of a time on the plat. Idk if it’s just because of how many hours I sunk into the game but I was addicted on day 1. (It’s in my top 3 most played) I was hoping they would add a ps5 upgrade so I can plat it again. even though they said they won’t be updating the game.
"By far the hardest trophy in the game, beating Oxide's times"
So basically it's a cakewalk.
wish this game got some more seasons
The way he plays the game hurts my soul. Games plat is really easy if you ppayed it right. For those that don't know, all you have to do is keep drifting with perfect timing. Not good timing. Do it consecutively and you'll be able to keep the boost/flames
Finally got a plat sadly couldn’t get it on mw2 but I got it on rocket league
You should see the jump-air brake-boost :P That's an insane move only really usable on one map :P Required to keep the divine sacred fire for it :C
Hell yeah
I wish you had to do the dev times for platin bcs i had alot of fun beating them.
I played this game badk in 2019 now im gonna be back 😎
Nts 24:59 29:31 30:30 32:04
27:05 Tropy's Cortex Castle time is 2:40:39. You got the exact same.
On Hard mode, the cpu racers average speed will be faster than yours. The only way to beat them is to get lucky with items or keep a boost pad reserve for the entire race. your boosted speed will be higher than their racing speed.
hahaha I'm also working on wolvenstein 2 😅
getting the crystal challenge trophy is so annoying the hit boxses on these crystals are so small you drive through them and it dosent pick it up its like picking them up with your butt cheeks fml
you can not call yourself an og crash fan if you never played the original ctr lmao second best kart racer of all time your childhood busted fr
bruh you lucky you didn't try the dev time trials, that shit IS TORTURE
You should give the dev times a go. You have to maintain your Blue flame for all 3 laps. You think Dragon mines is hard? Try Turbo. If you master U-Turning, it will be easier.
😂
I did all this on switch and xbox but now have ps4 version so doing all again yay ......
Only annoyance is platinum relics
Doing the hardest difficulty on a game that is already hard isn't gonna do much, and usually it seems that doing things on the hardest difficulty seems to be common enough that you might as well just get it over with.
When video about Crash Team Rumble?
