Yeah alot of the Dev ghosts always fuck up right at the end. I think its so they at least remain beatable, otherwise the only people who would beat them are like WR grinders.
They definitely make some mistakes on purpose, they are not their "best" times, but they definitely are really good times with like one mistake or two or three + not 100% optimal cormering.
Imagine Wumpa lewis has a nightmare where he's sleeping, and William p appears to his bedroom, turns on the xbox, erases all the data off of ctr, and writes him a note saying "Have fun beating me again".
Lewis be like: What the hell?! Wheres all my data! Tropy,Oxide, Velo, and William P: Ha, ha! Sucker you are gonna have to beat all of us again! See you in your time trial nightmares!
And at that point Lewis will probably have OCD and start randomly checking the PS4 every second. 😐 Edit: he will probably also have PTSD since hes virtually scared of losing his data 😐
Despite being a horrendous god of chaos, William P. is actually merciful, as his "screw up" on lap 3 in Turbo Track finally gave me the upper hand after more than 50 attemps. Thank you, William P., for teaching me how to "git gud".
Too bad they allow him to touch Turbo Track and Dragon Mines. Two tracks with a horrendously designed section that even after mastering the system still feels like a ballache to do because of that one section and I say this after beating all of the Dev Times.
For Slide Coliseum I highly advise looking at the wr video because there is a tyre jump that the dev time doesn't use and the movement for the first 2 corners will make it considerably easier on you
@@thenameyoushouldknowthekin8998 Velo's Drive-Thru Danger is fairly easy to beat compared to Spyro Circuit or Gingerbread Joyride. He fell off the platform during the 2nd lap and that should give you more than enough time to catch up.

I still don't understand what problem everyone has with Spyro Circuit. It's super easy, I did it on my first try. There aren't even any tricky shortcuts.
He never made a reaction, but in a CTR Benox-Dev Live Stream where they got together and played CTR William P as well as a few of the other devs joked about losing fire with the phrase "Flames Gone" So it's safe to say they've definitely seen his videos 👍
Lewis, try to use the Drift style on Slide coliseum, is the only track I changed engine and it worked quite well for me! Also, don't torture yourself too hard with the time devs, you'll beat 'em, I'm sure of that. Good luck with the rest of the tracks!
Yeah the thing that depresses me is as much time as it takes to beat his time, William should have had a much faster run but he intentionally screws up. Guarantee you this isn’t his record on this track.
if you look at most of the dev times, he makes a ‘mistake’ on lap 3 on a lot of the tracks. I can gaurentee that these are intentional. Willy P is no joke.
ItsMrBison These times really give players the opportunity to learn how to start attempting world records, so an intentional hiccup here and there definitely makes sense. There really aren’t any tracks where there isn’t some sort of forgiveness.

At least I’m not the only person who gets so frustrated with some of these tracks. When you said “shit barnacles” it made me piss. I’ve struggled on this track as I always lose my flame after the U-Turn section. Your method to hit the first pad after the section looks like a good way to counteract my problem. I was trying to land into a slide to keep the flame going which always makes me go wide around that pad.

I am trying these now. I literally just beat Velo's times and now....my fingers hurt and I've made zero progress. I thought I was ready. I was not. Great job on Turbo Track, that u-turning segment seems impossible. Best of luck with Deep Sea Driving when you get there.
Grats on beating Turbo track!! I agree imo it was the hardest track to win. You can definitely do Slide Coliseum, the trick is to always go for perfect boosts & cutting grass towards the end. Definitely would like to see your top 5 favorite tracks & hardest tracks in Dev times. Keep up the awesome work, patience is the name of this game :D

I use to hate when Turbo would pop up online cause I couldn’t do it but after doing these trials I’m now able to do the zig zag consistently so when it pops up I vote for it immediately. LOVE TURBO :)
Funny how a game with so many wacky race-tracks, the two most "normal-looking" ones are the most awkward ones... Is there any chance of you using Fake Crash while doing this dev times?, no particular reason, I just like the character!
A couple people have mentioned trying out drift on certain courses. One thing to add about using drift; I've found that since it has the biggest boost when you get 3 perfects in a row, it seems to build up reserves the fastest which can help a ton for those places you have to cut/hop through grass a lot or early in a track.
You not giving up is what helped me push myself to beat Oxide on all tracks. I was struggling to beat him on Gingerbread Joyride most of all, but just like you, I didn't give up. Got closer and closer each time until I finally beat him. So I just wanted to say you've been a great source of... Is inspiration the right word?

Slide Coliseum was my favorite time trial because there's no need to hold a blue fire and there's more time to think and react because of that
