  • Time to match some gems! Let's have a look at the gameplay of the Bejeweled clone called Jewel Land which is featured on the 32-in-1 Cartridge, on the cheap Nintendo Wii knock-off called HG96 16bits.
-- Jewel Land, a clone of the popular and classic Bejeweled --
Jewel Land is based on Popcom's Bejeweled, the highly popular match-3 game franchise that started the whole Match-3 craze. Over the years, tons of clones have been released. Some of the most popular Bejeweled clones being Candy Crush.
    -- Gameplay --
Jewel Land is a Match-3 style game. The goal of the game is to matc 3 or more gems in a row to make them disappear, which causes gems above them to fall, creating cascades which can clear many gems at once. To win the level and proceed on to the next, the player needs to clear a certain amount of matching gems before the time runs out.
    -- A Cheap Nintendo Wii Clone --
Like mentioned earlier, this plug and play TV game device is a clone of the Nintendo Wii and includes various motion controllers. The HG96 16 bits console comes bundled with 2 motion controllers, a gamepad and an extra controller in the shape of a soccer ball which can be strapped onto your foot. Also included are 2 game cartridges, today, we will focus on the 32-in-1.
    -- About the HG96 16Bits (Plug & Play TV) game console --
The box also includes additional add-ons for the "fake" wiimote's "motion" controllers to play the games featured on the 7-in-1 Sports Games cartridge. Those games include: Boxing, Tennis, Table Tennis, Bowling, Golf, Soccer and Baseball.
An alternative version of the HG96 16Bits console got released as well and included a third game cartridge, adding a lot of extra bonus game to the device.
Many different rebrands of these cheap Wii clones were released over time, most of which are more or less the same and often only offer a few small differences or changes between them, both in terms of the looks of the device, as well as recycling most of the same game titles. Some include the same games, some included a few unique ones.
Same can be said about these clone devices themselves as some cheap Wii knock-offs would store the game titles on the internal storage, instead of using a cartridge like the HG96 over here does.
Some of the other Nintendo Wii knock-offs are being sold under the brands, including:
    Zone
    Sport Vii
    WiWi
    WiWi 32 Bits
    X-Wei
    iSports
    iPlay
    Q3
Ultimotion series (manufactered by Jakks pacific)
And many others. Most of which were released around 2008 and 2009.
Of course, on top of that, the HG96, as seen in this video, which also was sold in various different versions. Some of the HG96 plug and play devices includes more or different games or 1 different game controller.
The box does not mention the manufacturer, nor shows any website link to the company who sold this gaming device. Could not find any info on this device online so I figured I'd upload some of the game footage for those who are curious or used to play these games back in the day... Enjoy!
