Please folks when you get your President Washington get the moodification already done. You can do the modification yourself but it is a pain in the rear! Pay the extra 10 dollars and let the conversion done by your dealer. Also order some cooling fan kit for it. It gets pretty hot if you key up for long. They have made fan connectors inside! I highly recommend the George 2 and the Washington. They are great radios. Best 73!
Hi I’ve just a question about fitting the fans as I’ve bought from a well known Chinese site, is there anything required to be done after fitting them or is it good to go once set the APM to a desired temperature In menu
I personally would wait for the President fans. I'm sure there will be some type of documentation one can only assume. There might also be information in the radios user manual on how to set it properly.
These radios have the AMC locked down so that they remain clean even when talking through the microphone. A lot of other models will start to deteriorate with voice where they won't with the one kilohertz test tone.

70-80% is usually cleaner.
