It may justbe me, but I prefer old and simple rigs similar to this. No menus and simple to operate. Besides, it can and wil communicate with modern and expensive radios. I've made contact with other hams using radios muc much older than this. 73 everyone and may you have the very best of the Holiday season with your loved ones.

I like the alignment vids.. Back when I was still green to radios in the 90's I fell for the snake oil salesman claiming they could make a big radio out of uniden 76's and 29's... In reality all they did were make splatter boxs that bleed all over the place... They impress folks by whistling into bird meters, when in reality the audio is terrible..

Great alignment money well spent. It has been my experience a proper alignment gives batter contacts and great audio reports back. Nice to see what it looks like with distortion. The cheap watt meter may like the watts . but is really just wasted power. 73 from cold windy NY !

Just got my technicians license. Is this a good option to start? Would appreciate a few tips....My Baofeng is picking up a decent bit but I'm not sure anyone can hear me when I transmit.

That a great radio ! Love the option of a Alignment for them. I find that money well spent. The 6666 has a nicer box than QT 80 but radio is the same. Someone has a chance to enjoy the radio ! I am happy to see so many nice radios put on the market ! Any radio from Scott's Radios is a great radio ! Cheers from NY !

I’d make a video of myself and send it to ya, but watching somebody put pipes together is quite boring! Sharing your knowledge and skill of what you do with your Son is something that will last a lifetime. Even if he decides to pursue other things, knowledge cannot be taken away from any of us. I’ve done the same with all three of my sons as they were growing up and becoming responsible young men. It’s just what we do as Dads. You’ve played a vital role in helping me to achieve a gift that one of my sons will truly appreciate. He’s been running a General Lee that I purchased in 1997 when I was a truck driver and the ol girl has seen many miles. I’m sure this QT60 Pro will be a great upgrade for him and I honestly cannot wait to be on the receiving end of this radio.
