Dave is thinking to himself " Bloody hell, woken at the crack of dawn for 18 quid, I may call that Tom dude and see if he has any VT work ". Keep up the good Kipper fight Mark.
I guess it’s a case of the cabs returning to that long line and jumping to the front, I would feel aggrieved if I had waiting 3 hours then a load of local tickets came back and jumped ahead of me at Heathrow they go straight into the terminals so the feeder park never sees them, add to that so many more jobs here would probably be local. Thanks for watching
Funny, I asked another driver on the rank about that and he said some do and some don’t I didn’t as I thought it would be a bit thrifty. And the meter just goes up in increments of 40p I think. Thanks for watching
Even when it's flowing on the streets the rankers sit there leaning on their elbows on the stations, I've never understood them. Two hours on the X for a kings cross rd. Keep rolling is my motto.
Great vid, I think the airport rank would be busy due to quite a lot of green badges coming from Essex, it would make sense for them to use city airport to get them into the city
that was tough to wait three hours for a local job i know ppl rank up at the airports all day but i couldnt do it. id rather be running around in town more chance of grabbing something good video mark thanks
Had a couple of good jobs out of city but 99% of time you get a canary wharf or city. I only rank there now if dropped off and it’s between 7-9am. Well done for carrying on working I would have gone home.
City Airport where incidentally when it first opened Taxi Drivers were given a free return Plane Ticket to a place of their choice and when on the rank most drivers were yellow badge but i used it a number of times never waited too long as Computer cab had a desk inside terminal can't remember but got a lot of jobs to City area,,,,
Hey mark, what camera do you use making your videos. Could you do a video of inside your taxi and set up also a taxi drivers everyday carries and taxi essentials.
Mostly GoPro10 and then iPhone bit of a mixture of both. I’ll have to check with Dave about the what I keep in the taxi vid 😊,, but I’ll certainly get into it
Nice to see London from the road. Super interesting and beautiful buildings. Glad I don’t live there though. It’s a termite hill 😉 You could monetise the name-dropping of hotels etc. I checked them out. Relaxing. Best of luck. Be kind to north American tourists.
Are you sure it’s kipper season?!! was up and down Bayswater road yesterday and almost every cab had passengers I couldn’t believe it! So I just went to the rank on great Cumberland place at the hard rock hotel
Guess you won't be making a habit of starting at LCY. "The excitement is palpable" 😂. I've ranked there a few times if dropping and it's late afternoon/ early evening. Hotel around the corner/ St Johns Wood, Hertfordshire, Greenwich. It's a big gamble. Wouldn't recommend.
Hi mark another fantastic vid mate just my opinion but sitting on a rank for 3hrs travelling 1hr 10min for a £19.20 vid 🤔🤷♂️🤔🤷♂️🤔 is definitely not worth it my guess for guess the fare today is £13.80 btw I’m surprised London flag fall is cheaper than Glasgow £4.40 & 20p onwards
This particular journey of discovery definitely wasn’t worth it however if I’d got a Heathrow connection this would have been a completely different vid but I enjoyed the day. Thanks for watching
Nice to see you again, Mark. Perhaps I shouldn't, but I would have my humble go at the "Guess the fare". My guess is £23,60. My February visit to London is approaching. I can't wait to see London again! I have a question. I know there are about 13 green cabmen's shelters. Are they really open in February? Did you happen to pass one or which were open? I'd like to go and try one of them. By the way, I've never seen such a long line of taxis as you've shown at London City Airport! Greetings from Krakow.
Yep! As far as I know they are all open, I urge you to visit one as it’s a unique experience. But be aware most are all closed by 3 pm. Thanks for watching
Why would anyone do that City Airport job when its highly likely that you’ll be dropping off close by at Canary Wharf or the City. I just dont get it unless you get very rich businessmen on private planes giving big tips.. Three hours for 20 quid and no return. At least with Heathrow youve a good chance of getting a job dropping off further afield
Hi mark good morning hope you are well done you keep it up you are doing a great job and having fun making some brilliant videos superstar Ali Walsall west midlands england junction 10 m6 Walsall churckery up the walsall
Im so confused why so many cabs park up at these long ranks? Do cabbies enjoy the downtime? Surely at 8am there are plenty of fixed daily school runs cabbies can find or just jobs from stations to workplaces etc
It is the same waiting time at Oslo airport OSL. if I accept a trip to the airport I will return without a passenger. I will make the same monye driving 30 km in the city instead of 100 km to the airport. The Peninsula seems to be a nice hotel according to Walk with me Tim, but expensive! The Rolls Royce is to pick up passengers.
I feel bad for you at the airport, sad you was unlucky. But I guess many isn’t since they are coming back to rank. I guess it is about using the time when in rank, aka reading or watching a movie or so.
Probably worth it if you lived local to the airport and were starting your day there. At least Heathrow let's you skip the queue if you get a local job.
I don't know about City Airport having the longest rank if 'they' say so then it must be true but I've flown into Berlin Schonefeld a few times and the rank there is Huge.Row upon row of Taxis.Needless to say I wasn't able to count 'em but I would bet on there having been at least as many, but in the final analysis....who cares.😂
I think in this instant it’s just measured as a single line in distance terms. I liked the old airport in Berlin, very quick to get to the centre of town. Thanks for watching
my guess fir GTF is £25.80, LCY is an utter crap place to go, mostly, you will end with a short job, it is quite uncommon to get a further job due to the DLR
Waiting at the longest rank explains why we haven't seen you for 2 weeks :)
I won’t be rushing back 😊
You're honestly starting to become one of my favorite UA-camrs. Keep up the great content.
Thanks, will do!
Dave is thinking to himself " Bloody hell, woken at the crack of dawn for 18 quid, I may call that Tom dude and see if he has any VT work ". Keep up the good Kipper fight Mark.
How do you not have 10,000+ subscribers?! Your videos are brilliant!
Hopefully this year! Thanks for watching
In all the years I’ve flown in/out of that Airport, and all this time I thought the only rank was just the one outside the terminal😂😂😂
I certainly wish it was! Thank you for watching
Great video as always. So smooth with the delivery of the commentary and to camera shots
Much appreciated!
Great video as always Mark👍
£32 (great video as always Mark) 😁
Also, I can’t get my head around how unfair city airport seems compared to Heathrow in the regards to local jobs!
The first part of this made me laugh a lot. What a performance.
Greetings mark very interesting seems like ranking always is a long wait not always worth it great video as always be lucky
You gets what you gets I guess. I was informed Canary Wharf was a popular local and that exactly what I got. Thanks for watching
I reckon £18.20 for guess the fare.
Excellent video again Mark, cant believe Dave trumped in your cab.
Keep up the good work.
I’ll let him off this time as it was early! Thanks for watching
Even when it's flowing on the streets the rankers sit there leaning on their elbows on the stations, I've never understood them. Two hours on the X for a kings cross rd. Keep rolling is my motto.
Another good video. Sack that London City airport lark Mark.
Not rushing back for sure, many thanks for watching
Great vid, I think the airport rank would be busy due to quite a lot of green badges coming from Essex, it would make sense for them to use city airport to get them into the city
Guess the fare £25.60
Yep that makes sense, my trip from Ealing was more of a discovery mission
Heathrow north and south feeders hold 500 cabs plus those at the terminals !
I know but this is “ longest” rank not largest
They do, this ep is about Europe’s longest taxi rank the distance as if measured in one straight line. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Wow what a line ...er.... QUEUE as they say in London. Cheers Mark. 2:25
Great episode Mark
Guess the fare £31.20. Loved the video again.
that was tough to wait three hours for a local job i know ppl rank up at the airports all day but i couldnt do it. id rather be running around in town more chance of grabbing something good video mark thanks
Nice one Mark 👍
That noise! Put it in neutral 😂
Had a couple of good jobs out of city but 99% of time you get a canary wharf or city. I only rank there now if dropped off and it’s between 7-9am. Well done for carrying on working I would have gone home.
That makes sense, I enjoyed the experience as it was a first for me. Thanks for watching
Brilliant video, very educational & interesting to know how it works .
All these movements in the taxi my brain thought you were talking about bowel movements at first 😂😂
Guess the fare £18:40
I’d be happy for 4 movements a day at my age
City Airport where incidentally when it first opened Taxi Drivers were given a free return Plane Ticket to a place of their choice and when on the rank most drivers were yellow badge but i used it a number of times never waited too long as Computer cab had a desk inside terminal can't remember but got a lot of jobs to City area,,,,
How very interesting! I bet the cabbies didn’t waste much time in booking their trips to Spain. Thanks for watching
Another good post keep it up mark can you tell me where you got your. Brown leather badge holder please .
Knowledge point school! Pop in they have lots of great cabbie accessories and are very welcoming
Hey mark, what camera do you use making your videos. Could you do a video of inside your taxi and set up also a taxi drivers everyday carries and taxi essentials.
Mostly GoPro10 and then iPhone bit of a mixture of both. I’ll have to check with Dave about the what I keep in the taxi vid 😊,, but I’ll certainly get into it
I used to be a yellow canary , can get good jobs , street work is very slack in the subs , it does add diversity to the job
Nice to see London from the road. Super interesting and beautiful buildings. Glad I don’t live there though. It’s a termite hill 😉 You could monetise the name-dropping of hotels etc. I checked them out. Relaxing. Best of luck. Be kind to north American tourists.
Great video mate.
One thing can you reject a job at an airport if it’s say going out east?
As far as I know you can’t even though I guess it would be out of the metropolitan district. I’ll have to check to be sure thanks for watching
Great vid as always. Going for £14 guess the fare.
🤞
Lot of waiting around for £19
£18 as you have to pay the pound for access to the job.
@@quintuscrinis ah yeah, even worse then
What time would those cabs at the front of the rank arrive at the airport?
Well at least 6-6thirty I guess. I’m sure they all know what time the first flight lands
Are you sure it’s kipper season?!! was up and down Bayswater road yesterday and almost every cab had passengers I couldn’t believe it! So I just went to the rank on great Cumberland place at the hard rock hotel
That’s good news the drivers and myself, I’m currently away at the moment so hoping February won’t be too quiet when I return. Thanks for watching
Yep! I got what was the most probable outcome I think. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

I was thinking the same thing. Why do the drivers do it?
Maybe most of them cabbies reside nearby, so that's a convenient way to start their day ?
I’m yet to rank up at Heathrow when I do I’ll hopefully share the experience. Thanks all for watching
Is your cab diesel?
They are all petrol electric now the newer ones
Electric as reflected in the comments, many thanks for watching
Hi mark good morning hope you are well done you keep it up you are doing a great job and having fun making some brilliant videos superstar Ali Walsall west midlands england junction 10 m6 Walsall churckery up the walsall
Could do with some updating looks like the Berlin wall where you all hanging out waiting for a fair.
£12.60 for guess the fare. Great video
Hi mark is the cab paid for now Ali Walsall west midlands england junction 10 m6 Walsall churckery up the walsall
Hi Ali thanks for watching! Hope you’re well and keeping busy

Yep they have 15 high spec vehicles ranging from Rolls Bentley and BMW all for the customers use
From Ealing … don’t you ever rank at Heathrow Mark ??
Haven’t got a tag, have applied but it will be a long wait they said around 18 months
@ yeah … I’ve heard there’s a long waiting list … all the best 👍🏼
An interesting experiment!
Very risky with no immediate return for local jobs
Got to be more cabs ranking at Heathrow … too much of a gamble ranking at LCY with no return on locals.
Good to hear City Airport expansion with low coat Airlines applying to use City Airport in the future.
Ahh ok, I wants aware of that. Thanks for watching
I feel bad for you at the airport, sad you was unlucky. But I guess many isn’t since they are coming back to rank. I guess it is about using the time when in rank, aka reading or watching a movie or so.
Or reading a copy of ‘war and peace’ from cover to cover thanks for watching
Please do a weekly video.
I promise I’m on to it!
Why would any driver rank up at City first thing in the morning. Interesting video at the start, thanks Dave for your input.
Yep I’ll tell him 😊
Probably worth it if you lived local to the airport and were starting your day there. At least Heathrow let's you skip the queue if you get a local job.
Once I get my tag I’ll be giving Heathrow a try for sure. Thanks for watching
Do you change the £1 on extras?
They are not allowed, it is illegal to charge more than the meter rate
@ don’t Heathrow drivers put on extras for feeder park?
@ no, they have a tag system, the only time they can do extras is for New Year’s Eve (After 4pm) and Christmas Eve (After 4PM)
I'm guessing the fare from Aldwych to Victoria Station was £22.00
I know it's kipper season but would you be bothered waiting in that rank !

Excel please mate
Heartbreak
DLR killed city. Used to move well, but thats life.
It’s balanced out with a big reduction in YBs in that sector, it’s now predominantly Green I see.
Yep Darren the Marshall told me many more greens now. Thanks for watching
I would of counted the time you started working to dropping off your first job
As how much you earned per hour
About £4 per hour minus running costs
No I’m feeling even worse! 😂 thanks for watching
I’ll go £22.20
I reckon the fare was 13.60
£68.20 inc tip
Well you must be the customer all those ranked up cabbies are waiting for ^^
Answer in the next episode! I hope you’re right then I can retire. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I'm going with £23.80
my guess fir GTF is £25.80, LCY is an utter crap place to go, mostly, you will end with a short job, it is quite uncommon to get a further job due to the DLR
How can anyone make taxi ranks like that work Jesus
£18.60 guess the fare
I'd give you 20 quid for that fare, buddy... Keep the change, thank you ;)
27,5
Dave is not a morning person. Guess the fare; £22.40
Driving from Ealing to city airport empty, jeez youtube must really pay !!
He was just trying it out for the channel
Absolute waste of time lol 😂
First and last time at City Airport 🛫
I think you could be right!
16.80
Gonna guess the fare £27.40
My guess is £26.60
9.00
Going for £18.80. That just doesn’t seem economical to rank up at City. Just gambling.
For me it certainly wasn’t thanks for watching
£18.80
You’ve not picked the best time of year to do this lol. Any other time would’ve been 30 mins
30 mins seems very reasonable! Thanks for watching
Guess the fair - £25.50
Guess the fare is £16
20.00
£23,40
Guess the fare I think £35.60
£17
Guess the fare- £28.80
GTF £17.80
£24.60
Guess the fare £25.60
Guess the fare: £22.60.
£32.00
That’s precisely why I hate airport ranks Mark a waste of time
12 pound 20
Guess the fare: £19.20
£14.80 please sir
City Airport really doesn't seem worth it
Glad you don't have a speech impediment....im not very good at ranking....Apologies for being coarse😂
Yes, could have gone very wrong 😊
You’re mad going out to that poison. 3 hrs r more
I won’t be rushing back that’s for sure, thanks for watching
Longest rank in europe 🤥
Heathrow is bigger
It doesn’t take anywhere near 400. At about 60 cabs it’s full up
Longest as if measured in one straight single line of taxis. Thanks for watching
