Which belt are you picking? The €5 fake, €28 by craftsman Dimitri, or the €60 luxury flex? Next up, watch me bust some scammers trying to fool tourists: ua-cam.com/video/Gl-PPrI5pmc/v-deo.html.
I bought the €60 one before we met Dimitri. Otherwise, I'd have just gotten two from him! Anyway, the quality is great, and it's super comfy. It's well worth the €.
When my husband and I went to Florence 6 years ago, we went straight for the local Craftsman's shop and bought a wallet and purse from him. Such a down to earth Italian guy and his work was beautiful. Our wallet and bag are still like brand new. Always always support the locals even if it costs a little more. Heck I would pay more for that work.
I've been living in Florence since I was born, and those guys can be friendly but also weird. I once was walking with my friend there, when one of the men who worked there stopped me and told me that he knew my father. I've never seen neither talked with that man before... I've been following you for a short time but personally I really like how you show a little bit of the real world we live in, putting the "beautiful" side in a corner.

You should try Québec in the winter for its winter festival. Lots of tourists. But for some reason not many scammers. For some mysterious reason it seems that -20°C exceeds the operating temperature range of scammers. Bizarre.
I hope you enjoy your time in Florence Karl!!! I did my master's there and lived there for 10 months. As a person who has lived there I higly recommend you try and visit a lot of places there!!!

in dharavi mumbai you can get this below 1000 or maybe 500. you should take this belt there on your next trip to mumbai and maybe you'll have some viral content :)
Man, this really sucks. Tourists can't get those nice handmade real products and are scammed. And on other hand real businesses miss customers and don't get to benefit from tourism.
When Karl approaches a South Asian street vendor I immediately start to smile. Speaking of prices, I order from time to time Ayurveda products from India. Thus I get to experience what the huge difference in prices mean between Western countries and India. It's easy to observe since the prices are on the bottles of Ayurvedic products, in rupees. This allows for instance the online vendor to offer totally free express DHL shipping including all custom fees and anything DHL or FedEX can bill me for later concerning an order. Any bill is sent to the shop and it's paid. It works like this since the margin of profit is totally incredible. They sell products at Western prices, prices that we are used to. I'd like to buy in rupees, heck, I'll pay DHL and any fees myself if the products are sold to me in rupees ! :)
