Hey Becky great video as always love the videos with your mother in law she's so chill and supportive, one of our family's favorite recipe to make with tomatillo salsa is a beef short rib cooked in the salsa served over white rice you should totally try it.
I love to see when you show videos with your mother in law and your mom. When will the new we site be up? I always have a hard time printing the recipes on the site so I just write them out. The page is off and some words overlap sometimes. Not sure why. Thanks again for all the recipes and all the hard work you put in with videos too. I hope you can post your garden from the beginning too so we can see how to start a garden for us new gardners. I would love to know what soil to use and how to start down to building the boxes. Thank you again!
Going to make salsa Verdi out of all my green tomatoes that I have. Since my tomatoes won't ripen this year. But will leave out the cilantro (tastes like soap) and the garlic, as I'm allergic to it.
I miss my mum in law while watching this. She taught me how to cann and I miss her presence in my kitchen during this harvest season. 6 years since I had a helper and Simone to chat with while working!! Great recipes are definitely found here in this video!! Thank you for sharing!! ❤
What a blessing to have such a great relationship with a mother-in-law/daughter-in-law! Josh's 1st love and his last love in the kitchen, getting along and making a preservation memory. Love it!
I love how calm yours and Josh's moms are on camera! It can be so hard for people to just be natural on camera and they both just take to it like they've been doing it forever!
That is wonderful for you and Josh that your families are so loving and cooperative with each other. Renee is clearly a sweet person and fun to be with, as is your mom. Would love to hear more about Renee's complete meal canning!
Rene ,how a sweet mother in law. Those grandchildren are soo lucky to have such wonderful grandparents from both mom and dad. Becky and Josh you both have wonderful parents
I just canned for the first time yesterday, at 51, my grandma’s sweet pickles. You were my inspiration. I heard you in my head, “you can do it!” I did it, they all sealed!!! Thank you!!!
I am 62 and my husband passed a couple years ago and I have been watching your videos avidly..my health is not the greatest but I think next spring I am going to start a small garden and get a few chickens. You have inspired me and it will be just what I need to give my life meaning. Then maybe I'll try canning if my garden works. I love you and your family ♥️ I will keep watching and learning as long as you post😊
I started a message to you and it vanished. . .ugh! This post is about a year old and I hope you see this. I hope you have found hope and joy in your garden and chickens. ❤❤
@@sharonb.7867 thank you I actually started a few fruit trees and strawberry plants. Had to keep it small due to my health but it’s been fun. My only issue is the squirrels keep eating the strawberries and I’m trying to figure out how to stop them from eating the fruit on the trees if and when they start fruiting. I am getting a little greenhouse for the strawberries so maybe I’ll actually get to eat one. I had to put a hold on the chickens cuz my daughter’s dogs had pups and I ended up keeping 4 of them so they keep me pretty busy too.
@@pamelamarsh998I heard somewhere painting rocks red and putting them around the plants before they fruit, the animals try to eat the rocks and learn pretty quickly it's not food, so when your strawberries come in they don't bother trying to eat them... Not sure if this works 🤔 Oh and congrats on getting your little garden going. I had a little garden this summer too. So much fun!
If Renae can be convinced to start a youtube channel, id definitely watch her videos! She seems like the sweetest person, youre so lucky to have two amazing mother figures ❤️❤️
Renee seems like such a joy. So great to have a mother in law as your friend. I had a great mom in law as well. Beckie, you look so happy. Josh is just giddy. Love you guys.
Sure wish I had a mother-in-law like Renee! She's just awesome and I for one can appreciate her honesty when asked about the 'heat' of the sauce. It's nice to have people tell you the truth and not just what you think makes a good video moment. Thank you Renee for that!
Becky, you are so blessed to have such an amazing mother-in-law! I, too, was blessed to have had one! Your child will be one fortunate child to have such amazing grandparents! What a fun day in the kitchen! ❤️
I've been watching your channel since early this year, I think March or April. my 3½ year old daughter just watched your video with me for the first time and she was ADORABLE! "Who is that? Is that Brooklyn's mommy? Oh Becky?" "That's not our Renee. She has gloves. They're not goopy. They're clean!" "Look they're cutting onions!" "Oh that's Josh! He makes silly faces, like this!" *demonstrates her own silly face*
Really loved watching Renee and you together in the kitchen. She should start her own UA-cam channel she has your talents for being on camera and teaching to can. Hint Renee teach us to do those meals you can
I can’t wait for the ketchup canning video. I canned ketchup a few years ago, and it gone FAST. The only problem was I used the last of my best, sweetest beefsteak tomatoes and kind of regretted it because they were absolutely beautiful, meaty and sweet. I’ve got my home canned tomato sauce that I’m going to use this year to can ketchup. I’m telling you, Becky, I’ve been canning for over 50 years when my grandma taught me after I got married, and you a true gem. I was once asked why I watch canning videos since I’m an old soul at canning and food preservation, and the only way I can explain it is why a NASCAR driver always watches the races with other drivers. You’ll always learn something new, a new way to do it, or just remember the steps, especially at my age lol. Watching young canners warms my heart because they’ve learned the value of canning and food preservation.
Thank you, Becky and Rene, for inviting us to share in your fun on such a great cooking day! I was lucky enough to have a mother and mother-in-law who enjoyed time together in the kitchen with me. Now I have a son and grandson to cook with. There is no more cozy setting than gathering in a kitchen together as a family. Becky, you'll making cookies with your baby in no time!
Renee seems to be such a lovely lady. That is why your husband turned out so wonderful! Its fun to have helpers during canning. I am lucky enough to have a husband to join me and help out.
Your videos are a perfect example of the fact that you don't just marry a person but you marry a family. You all make a wonderful picture of what family could and should look like. Thank you for sharing your blessings with us.
Both of you ladies are so fortunate to have the relationship that you do. Mother gained a fantastic daughter and daughter lucked out with the best mother in law possible. And, I'm sure Josh appreciates that both of his favorite women get along...so rare these days.
I did a lot of this when i had a house full of young'ns - we were foster parents and young, so we got many high energy toddlers plus those who belonged to us, which was so much fun. I did 'big cooks', along with picking apples, tomatoes, peppers, pumpkin, and berries. I canned salsa, jams, and pureed pumpkins. The kids had fun with the process and probably ate more than they picked but they learned where food comes from. I wish I'd had your recipes though, they are much better than the casseroles I knew to make. No internet or pinterest. Still, It did really help with meal prep and between what we picked and regular visits to a farmers market (there were a few in the Toronto area) we offered many more healthy natural food options to my kids. Probably 20 years ago! So much fun.
9:11 Your mother in law is so fun! I probably would have actually thrown a "mystery pepper" behind my shoulder too instead of just pretending haha. I can't handle really spicy peppers. -Cara
Happy to see Renee! How sweet of her to spend the day working with you. I’m not into hot stuff but how impressive to see you making and canning food your family enjoys. Love as usual.
Hi Becky, Renee and Josh. This video was just what I needed. I wanted something fun to watch and while looking my bell went off. You posted a video. Yay! You not only have amazing parents but awesome in-laws too. This is a joy to watch. Thank you all. 👋🏻❤️🇳🇱
Hi Ms. Renee you’re a cool mother in law it’s so nice to see a mother in law spending time with her daughter in law in the kitchen Becky you are truly blessed to have a mother in law that loves to can home grown fruits and veggies I love it thanks for sharing ❤
Try saying "toe-muh-tee-oh's" in place of "tom-muh-tee-oh's". Great video, and tips, thank you! I think in the spring you had planted Nadapeño? That were a non spicy variety, and latinos normally use fresh lime juice in their salsa verdes, ceviche dishes, cervezas, jamaica (huh-my-kuh) and posoles, & such, lemon juice is usually reserved for some seafood items, try lime juice sometime the difference is huge.
So glad to see you using the Presto digital canner. I’ve had mine for about a year and I LOVE it! So many are afraid to show them on camera due to the canning police backlash. It is so easy to use and takes the fear out of canning for new canners. It’s great for smaller batches.
I love that you and your mother-in-law are close, we need more wonderful examples like you and Renee. I hope Renee comes back for more food prep ideas.
I love canning meals in a jar! It's AWESOME to be able to open a jar and have a ready made meal. I've done tons of soups, chicken cacciatore, beef stew, chicken stew, pork carnitas, apple spiced pork, Italian beef, pot pie starter, spaghetti sauce, chicken corn chowder starter, beef stroganoff.... You should give it a try so you have easy meals for when the baby comes. 🥰
What a great video! I went to my daughter's last week for her first canning lesson. We canned tomatoes and also dried beans. I went back this morning and showed her how to make burritos in a jar and she did more dried beans. I am very interested in meals in jars. Hoping you can have Renee back to show us her recipes!
This is exactly what I was hoping to see today. I hope you had a nice weekend Becky and took some time for yourself. Can’t wait to see what “we’ll” be doing today ❤😊
I fell yesterday and wrenched my back and ankle. My son who lives an hour away asked what he could do....I told him to peel apples. He and his wife too some of their accumulated PTO and came over and helped me can 22 pints of apples today! I'm hurting, but proud of my accomplishments.
As a retired woman I have the blessing of stopping whatever I'm doing and grab a cup of coffee whenever I realize you have posted a new video. I feel like you are my Grand Daughter and I'm beaming with pride every time you post. Bend say's "HELLO".
I hope my husband realizes that the only way I get so much done in the kitchen is because I watch and listen to you while I’m doing it. I love your videos! You and Josh are blessed with such wonderful families.❤
My favorite full meals in a jar are chicken soup and pot pie. You could make chicken, beef, or turkey. My neighbor broke her hip last fall and these meals were able to help her and her family as she recovered. I still make them for her because she enjoyed them so much. 😊
What a great video! I love the dynamic between you and Renee, and you and your mom. I have never canned and am going to buy a canner after the holidays. You are so inspiring.
You and Josh have the best families ever! Renee seems to be the coolest MIL and I know your mom is the same. Having extra help especially when your pregnant and or just doing these huge canning marathons is awesome! Love you all and your videos and can't wait to see what you do next!
Oh so awesome to have your loving mother in-law, Renae sharing her love with you and Josh on your busy canning day! Like I have said before; you and Josh are so blessed with family that roll up their sleeves and get the projects done! Thanks Mom! Josh, you were so darn cute testing the sauce with your honey! Hope cool that you found a home with this many ovens and your awesome sink in the pantry! I am sure when both your families get together it is a smiling great time! Bless you all!
Because of you, Becki, my husband was ALL about getting a vacuum sealer. He and I have really enjoyed having it because we only have two people in our family but we have a freezer and love to have our own little food storage. And now that I’ve found that we have access to a great farm for beef, YAY!
I love pressure canning meals for our family. It’s so nice to have dinner in 5 minutes on the busy days you don’t want to cook or an appointment runs long, etc. I’ve done beef chili, beef pasta sauce, chicken soup, veggie soup (minestrone flavors without the pasta), beef stew (my favorite, going to do a lot more of this!), lots of beans and plans for a lot more. My kids love raw packed chicken with just salt served over rice. So nice and easy for mom. But I want to do some raw pack chicken with a bit of Buffalo sauce for mom and dad. 😉 I’d definitely recommend getting some of these done up before baby for those times you want a little something different, maybe not a whole freezer meal and you’re hungry NOW. Lol. Nursing mama problems. 😂
You are such a joy. Thank you for always sharing your garden adventures. So therapeutic and inspiring and calming. And! Just this morning I watched a video by YT’er Anti-Chef who made Julia’s “Aïgo Bouido” (garlic soup) and it looked wonderful! Not super complicated as her other recipes and I’m almost positive every ingredient you have in your homegrown pantry! Thank you again for sharing with us. You are a gem. 💛
I just jumped to your website to get the recipe for your hot sauce. It couldn’t be easier to follow! I know what everyone is getting for Christmas this year! THANKS!!!
Love getting to see you can with both mom’s. My mil taught me to can 20 years ago, she has had several strokes so she can no longer have a garden or can. Treasure your time with ya’lls moms/family.
I love these big preserving days and when you do a day of massive cooking for pre-made meals for the month . You make it look easy and joyful even though I know it's a lot of work.
I don’t water bath double stacked at all. For the apple sauce I love to use the red hot candies as the sweetener and the pink color it adds. This is a old depression recipe for apple sauce that I grew up with from my grandma
Becky, for the vacuum sealer, check out Avid Armor vacuum chambers. Oh my gosh I love mine! It seals mason jars, mylar and plastic for my freeze dried foods, freezer and refrigerator foods - short and long term foods! So easy just put it in the chamber and it vacuums and seals.
Becky, l looked back on Three Rivers Homestead, (Pantry Challenge of 2021) and Jessica peeled her cloves of garlic by putting them in a Tupperware container about 1/4 full and shaking it. She did this with baby Benjamin on her back asleep in his carrier and Gabe also tried his hand. Maybe you could check with her.
Becky, your channel is the best. I live in a city but have been harvesting my little garden. I enjoyed homemade tomato soup and grilled cheese with homemade bread. You are really, positively, influencing me and we are really enjoying the results. Kudos to you!
My husband saw part of your video, where you made your salsa verde, and said " wow honey,we could go through all that salsa in les than a month".when my kids were teens we made a stainless steel bowl of pico de gallo full like yours and it lasted 2 days.Since we still live in florida we grow everything year round here..It's nice your mother -in-law is there to help you,and you look like you both have fun anytime you ladies cook or can..Awesome!..
Growing up my family and extended family all lived close together and all had large gardens. We would have family processing/canning days from August to November every year. Everyone got a share of the goodies after we finished. During the winter we did the same for making pasta, ravioli and tortellini. I love how your whole family helps out!
I need help I'm easing into homesteading. I started off with a small pot garden with a few veggies. But I'm purchasing 5plus acres. I purchased quite a few of Becky's canning tools, but I'm at a loss for where to turn for proper canning techniques. Please suggest a good book to try for beginners, thank you😇
Maybe Renee would do a video with you when she cans some full meals again? I’d love to see that. And she is just so sweet. Maybe another thrifting video as well? Lol
I recently opened some applesauce that I canned at the end of last fall and I was so proud. It was my very first canning project and I definitely credit you for giving me the confidence. I hope to get one of those electric pressure canners! Apartment living means tight kitchen space but I feel like it would be worth having.
Usually I cant watch a full 30+ mins video of cooking without skipping minutes. But! Yours are great! Clear recipes, calm environment and somehow it is not boring like other long cooking videos. Thanks!

Wow that was action packed. I love how organized you are. Your Monther-n-law is so wonderful to help you. She is the best. Thanks for sharing.
I can really appreciate Renee's sense of humor. What a great MIL to want to come help! God blessed you with a wonderful mother AND MIL!
Your mother-in-law is awesome (and she looks so young). What a productive day - awesome stuff!
I hope my husband realizes that the only way I get so much done in the kitchen is because I watch and listen to you while I’m doing it. I love your videos! You and Josh are blessed with such wonderful families.❤
You have a lovely mother in law. It’s great that you get on so well and she comes to help you it really is a blessing xxxx
That extra sink is pretty niffty Becky, Thank you for sharing your afternoon with us!
Renee should totally be on more often!

Yes we like Renee!
3 ovens sounds like a dream!
Because of you, Becki, my husband was ALL about getting a vacuum sealer. He and I have really enjoyed having it because we only have two people in our family but we have a freezer and love to have our own little food storage. And now that I’ve found that we have access to a great farm for beef, YAY!
I’m getting a food saver myself!
I loved watching you and Renee cook together almost as much as I loved watching you and Josh cook together. Lots of fun and chemistry there.
I love Renee!! You are so lucky to have her as your MIL.
I’d definitely recommend getting some of these done up before baby for those times you want a little something different, maybe not a whole freezer meal and you’re hungry NOW.
THANKS!!!
Renee is awesome! What a blessing to have a mother-in-law like her! You all have a great family,, that's how it should be!💞
Love getting to see you can with both mom’s.
Renee and your mom are such BLESSINGS!
Josh was braver than I would have been tasting the salsa.
What a great day ‘s work! I’ll be looking forward to seeing some of the whole meals that Renee does. An efficient use of your new kitchen!
Renee is so sweet! What a wonderful mother-in-law!! I know you appreciate her so much.
It is super fun to have a mother in law that like to can,and like to hung up with you. You did win the lottery for sure, you are so bless.
Your mother in law is a gem! You look amazing! So glad all is well. Hugs
Love when you incorporate the family!! Good job! Keep doing what you do! Thanks!
Please make your Garlic Party live too! I have 30ish plants to process😃 Great idea!
What a great day! I love when you have your mother in-law and your mom in the videos. Would really like to see canning a meal. You are awesome!
Please suggest a good book to try for beginners, thank you😇
Homemade apple sauce is so yummy! 😀
Thanks!
Would love to see more of Renee’s full meals of what she cans. I need more of those!
You did the double decker in your metal water bath canner… take care dear Becky, Thank you Renee … you are a very special mother in law.
wow! y’all kicked some canning butt! thanks for another great video 💕
