I don't mind shorter games. Often they are the only games I actually finish. I'll probably give this a go. Thanks Bryan!
I feel you. So many games are so long that before you beat it the next game you’re looking forward to is already out. My backlog of unbeaten games is insanely long at this point
@@imakeshoes1 mine too and it’s frustrating lol. I don’t even know if I should finish them or start new games in my backlog.
@@localnemesis94 honestly pick a couple games at a time to play. It’s helped me get through a lot of them. Usually one longer open world type game that I can grind out over a long time and then a story based linear game too
@@imakeshoes1 Thats my issue too got far too many games that take me months to finish
Yeah, but isn't it a little too expensive considering the price of a AAA game?
Well, 2.5 hours IS the length of a good summer blockbuster. But, I'll wait for a price drop, or DLC. Good review!! Meow.
I agree with your assessment... I've played it and although there's some fun to be had, it's not worth it at the current price in my opinion.
Short playthroughs are fine by me, just not at that price points. I'll wait for a sale and pick it up then or for full price if they patch it up with more content.
It's currently at $26.99 until launch for PS Plus members.
@@patfer1189 Thanks for the heads up :)
@@hansgruber9457 you gonna pre order it
@@iamaidansmith7542 No, I don't have PS Plus and will wait for a proper discount, more content or a physical version.
@@hansgruber9457 oh you should get ps plus cause you get a ton of free games discounts and some games require it it’s worth for me an I play exclusively single player games
$30-$35 seems a little steep for a 2 hour game.
Maybe some free DLC later??
The game is currently $26.99 if you have PS Plus.
@@patfer1189 For only 2.5 hour long game i wouldn't even pay $26.99 if this game was running on Sony's Decima Engine with The Last Of Us 2 graphics
@@SC0RPI0NFURY no to be honest if they did that i'd be too intrigued to see it to not pay $26.99
Damn... I was hoping to take the day off work tomorrow for this one, but not for a mere 2.5 hours at $35. Definitely going to wait for a sale on this one.
Me too. Hopefully they patch in some new modes and dlc.
Its on sale rn
The standard edition is $30 and currently has 10% off for PS+ subscribers (offer expiring today) making it $29.21 for me (after sales tax).
@@cusman still way too much for a 2.5 hour experience. Will wait until it is $15 or less.
I suppose a more pertinent question would be does the price of the game feel right for a 2hr action experience.
This game has wait for sale written all over it, as I really don't want to feel cheated when the credits role.
The short play time has me putting this on backburner for a sale. At the price its at, we needed at the minimum a 4-5 hr campaign. Hopefully, they will have dlc to make the game fit the price. Great review as always Bryan
Great review...a sale pick up for me I think but god it looks pretty and really smooth frame rate too
Here in the UK the price isn’t that bad; I bought the standard pre-order for just £18.
However this side of the pond we get charged £60-£70 for AAA games whereas you’re all paying roughly £50 (when compared with the exchange rate), therefore I can imagine the price feels a little dearer over there.
I actually appreciate it, when the developers of games like Fracked, actually charge us the same amount as you for a change.
Honestly, I would rather have a polished 2.5 hour campaign vs a 10 hour mediocre one. It does suck it isn't a bit longer but VR exclusive games typically are shorter. Hopefully they will add some DLC down the line if reception of the game is well received. I'm really excited to play this game nonetheless! Great review Bryan.
Compared to Saints & Sinners i think it is too expensive. Is Fracked PSVR exclusive? If it is, that might explain the pricing, if it's multi plat or just timed exclusive for PSVR i think it is over priced
@@SC0RPI0NFURY It’s exclusive to PSVR. I do agree the price is steep for 2.5 hours and no additional modes or challenges. $20-$25 would be better suited
Against my better judgement I pre-ordered, had a feeling it was going to be short but I wanted to support the Devs for making this on PSVR. No regrets, I'll go for the platinum to eek out a bit more play time.
Great review as always!
I was looking forward to this one. I'm glad I waited for your review before purchasing. 2.5 hours is way to short. 'Blood and truth' had it right with a great story then added enjoyable extras.
Like everyone else, ill wait for a price drop.
Wow 2.5 hours was stunning to hear. I appreciate how upfront and honest you are in your reviews. I was thinking this would be at least an 8 hour game. Regardless, I did enjoy the demo, and a small game may not be the worst thing considering I haven’t finished a full VR game in years. I love The Walking Dead Saints and sinners and LA Noire VR case files, but I never came close to finishing them because it’s hard for me to stay in VR for 15-20 hour game. I still think for the length of this game and the price they are asking for it, I need to wait for a sale. I love your passion towards VR and I can’t wait till PSVR 2!
Will wait for a sale after finding out about the length. Great review!!
"I always scrub to the end of your review"
nonsense, Bryan, I'm watching it right now as we speak and there's no way for me to know yet that you gave it an 8.2!
What !! 2.5 hours!!!
Well am going to buy this in a sale,
Thanks 🙏 Bryan what would we do without you!!
The demo was so cool. If the rest is that good, this will be my fav 2021 PSVR game so far.
Honestly I'm happy to support a well-made short game that makes every minute count -- filler-free. :D
Thanks for the review Bryan. Too bad nDreams didn’t combine different weapons and achievements like their game Shooty Fruity into Frack. It would have given it more replay value. No wonder they wouldn’t tell you how long the game play was in your interview.
I felt this review. I was gonna preorder had to wait. Now my worst fears are realized. same enemies and no cool boss battles
This game looks amazing, and I hope they keep adding to the great base they've given us. I can't see them not adding modes, etc. Great review 🐱
When I saw the number of chapters in the demo I wasn't expecting a very long game. I pre-ordered it anyway. Gonna check it out tomorrow. Great review Bryan!
Pretty short but great fun. This game makes wish for an Uncharted in VR! Massive action set pieces.
Given how many times I've played the demo, I'm not too worried about things "getting old" quickly nor the short time. Blood and Truth plus others are short but immensely fun and, who knows, nDreams might have some dlc down the pipeline
Reminds of goldeneye for the n64 a bit... Good times :)
I'm not worried about the length of the game..
It'll be 4:20 when I play this 😁
Thanks cat
Played demo pretty fun even though I smacked my face into a tree at the start when skiing lol
Thanks for the good review as always. May actually wait on this one
The demo was really great and your review is pushing me towards a purchase for sure.
Doesn’t Disney charge $30 to watch black widow and jungle cruise on Disney+ premium? For such a well-made game with very few bugs, I think it’s deserving of the very reasonable score of 8.2.
Another great review!
I get that this is a hard one to review, but you did great as always! You’re the best Bryan 🤡
Thank you so much for this review! Loving the new videos 😊.
I’m on the fence here. The demo didn’t really blow me away, it was just, alright. The cover system was great to use but skiing didn’t feel so great for me. Also the demo bugged out at one point forcing me to restart.
On the one hand, it looks like it might be a decent time, but on the other, I’m not sure it would stay interesting with so little variety. Two main guns, a handful of enemies and wave after wave of shooting might end up getting dull, especially without an intriguing story to back it up.
The cons you mentioned are the two things I worried about when playing the demo. Very disappointed I was right. They do have something great here. Hopefully they can patch the hell out of it and give us more bang for our buck.
Fantastic review as always, Bryan! I will probably wait a little due to length but definitely getting it still, it's a great title.
Definitely a sale for me. I was on the fence between this and Synth Riders but I can 100% wait for this to drop to like $15. I honestly think it's a little scummy to ask $5 dollars to play it 3 days early when it's so short. But hey I guess quality over quantity?
Great review once again hope you do more retrospectives with Jeremy soon.
I have preordered it, got a few bucks off with psplus
I already pre-ordered it, but really hoping they add more content later...
It looks really fun but at the same time it’s probably going to need a ton of updates and content to justify the full price tag
I wish there was an option to turn off hand switching of weapons. Maybe they is one??? I don’t always switch my pistol hand from right to left, but when I do, it’s on accident.
At this point, while there are some exceptions, I feel like 2.5 hours is the standard length for a lot of the PS VR games I've played, so I try not to be disappointed by it anymore.
Thanks for keeping up with PSVR game reviews!!👍👍
I'm tempted to cancel my pre-order but at the same time I had quite fun during the demo and I had my problems surviving even in normal mode so trying out for the hardest difficulty and platinum will take me a while. Then again, it will be the same thing over and over basically. Hopefully more gets added in the future.
hmm, looks like a pass for me which makes me more considering to buy borderland 2 Vr, but im currently busy with hitman vr, skyrim vr, beat saber and not yet complete my wd saint and sinner( cant wait for september after shock dlc update).
thanks for the review. :)
Wait?! What?! So it's just an extended demo?! Yeah I'll wait for a sale. FML. lol
This game really just shows the studios strengths and what they COULD do if given the right funding. I don’t think Strand will be it, but I hope they can someday make the full experience they’re capable of
2 weapons and 2.5 h? Lets start saints and sinners again...😅
I thought that the point of this was that they were going to be releasing "movies" that you play through. So a 2.5 hour runtime would be normal, and then they'll update with a new campaign for a new movie.
I actully like shorter games don’t get me wrong prefer them longggg but I like short games cause I can play the story often whereas twdss campaign I only play sometimes cause it’s so long also keep in mind it’s pushing the boundaries so it being shorter is expected
Great review as always. Definitely looks like one to put on the watch list for a future purchase. Hopefully they work on some more modes to increase the replayability.🙂
Assuming that due to the climbing sections that this isn't an aim controller game?
No AIM support for this one. You can always see which controllers are supported by checking out the review summary screen near the end of the video. :D
@@WithoutParole will look out for that in future cheers 🙂
Feeling optimistic that they will add in new content for free later. Is seems almost every good vr game does that.
Thanks for the review. It's on sale now at 55% off so at that price, I can deal with a shorter game.
That’s why I just came here as well!
For me personally, the $30 price is not a problem, but the experience has to be worth it. I was going to wait for NGVR before I play any more VR games on my PS5, but I think I will make an exception for this game because I remember really enjoying Blood & Truth and this seems to be in similar genre and ambition and polish (although with different art style).
The review mentioning that it looks and performs better on PS5 even though there isn't an official PS5 version put me over the edge into buy decision.
Damn I already preordered so I don’t care but definitely too short. Need more weapons too.
Looks like this game has stuck to the 1st gen vr rule of the better it looks, the shorter it is. I'm surprised a game this short even has a demo. 🦐
This is the Ace Combat 7 of 1st person shooters on PSVR
Im gonna wait and be hopeful for some updates on this one
No coop i assume?
Single player only.
It’s on sale for $20 right now… still seems a bit high for me personally
Hi, thanks for the info!
.. I'm hoping on Multiplayer for this Game now🤔🤗🤞
You caught me - I checked the score before watching the full review.
Wow, I was literally going to pre-order this as soon as the review was done as after the demo I was expecting it to be a no brainer but 2 weapons and a mere 2.5 hour campaign is a definite no.
I'm glad the review helped you decided! :D
I hope we'll get a free dlc..
While yes this game looks beautiful in the headset, has good cover mechanics, and 3-4 skiing areas, I felt it was a huge missed opportunity to be something great. Felt like a larger demo to me and it became repetitive and boring fast, which is a shame because I was hyped for it. Just felt empty, like a wave shooter with pretty set pieces and no content.
The demo made it seem like there was more, like the fruit pick-ups that turned out to be utterly pointless!?!
It just lacked variety for me and the polished graphics weren't enough... here's hoping they extend the campaign or SOMETHING 😔
Can’t decide if I want this or Blair witch I love horror and action which is better in your opinion
Truth and Blood is about the same run time. I think both games should get an exclusive sequel for the PSVR2.
Seriously? I remember Blood & Truth being about twice as long as Fracked (4 hours of gameplay with another hour of cutscenes). But yeah 100% both need a bigger better sequel! :D
Who scrubs to the end of the video? That's lame
It is pretty short but the last boss is so hard! Tell me I’m not the only one that had a problem with it
Yup, it's price is indicative of the content then, that's fair. We shouldn't expect Skyrim levels of longevity in games priced so low. This is their practice run. Fracked 2 on PSVR2 will be a full length game for sure. And it'll be the success of this game that makes that possible.
(Deleted: why didn't you do the end score?)
Edit.. don't watch & socialise at the same time. The score at the end is obviously there. Derp.
Didn't I?
@@WithoutParole you did. I'm an idiot. (a friend came in the room and distracted me, I looked back at the end of the vid and it wasn't there, rewound it a few seconds, but not enough to get to the score so deduced it wasn't there. Derp. lol)
This is a very good fun game to play and it bring me back how games where back in the old school days in the 90's era 😁
Honestly wish more games where this short haha
Has anyone else noticed that this games sound is a lot quieter than all other games ?
Disappointed in the short length, lack of weapon and enemy variety. Thats two slight disappointments in a row for me personally, after your Arashi review. However, I am fully confident that I Expect You To Die 2 is gonna save August for me. The first one is in my top 5 VR games, and I'm sure the sequel won't disappoint. Right? . . . RIGHT? 😇
I've been debating getting that game cause of the hype. I'm sort of newish i have a quest 2 and psvr. I recently played blood and truth and I couldn't believe how good it was. I also cant believe how much I prefer the psvr over the quest. Anyway now I also wonder if i get I expect you tie die....quest 2 or psvr?
@@wjveryzer7985 I dont really know much about Quest so I cant advise much really. But it's not a demanding game graphically, so I'd imagine that there isnt much between the versions. Get whichever one is cheaper, mate. Fantastic game. And yes. Blood and Truth is AMAZING. Cannot wait for the sequel to that too.
The best 2,5h I ever had! This made all non-VR gaming obsolete for me! The action is so heated, that I was sweating like a pig! There is some replay value had, as it is just SO MUCH FUN, that I sometimes play levels again and again!
I absolutely cannot wait what these folks are doing next! They are so good!
I had a feeling it was gonna go this way based on the demo. Glad PSVR WP was there for the confirmation :)
#gamecat
Ps starting to get more green scores on Box VR.... Still not 100% but now I'm gonna focus on combos :)
Any plans for dlc?
Made me sick so a no for me. Ski'ing part was better than gunfights imo on demo
Are most psvr games better on the ps5 vs ps4 pro? Graphics wise
There's only about 5 or 6 games that look dramatically better on the PS5 but a TON of games look better on the Pro. :D
Ah man, thats really short.. guess its a sale buy.
I played the demo but felt it was a bit overhyped, it felt like a bare bones Blood and Truth. It had some things going for it, the scenery was gorgeous almost painterly in some areas, action sequences were fun to play through but after a while just felt like an admittedly pretty but shallow shooter that lacked depth.
I wasn’t sure if I’d like this game so I’m watching this to see how it is
Game looks funs but 30$ for 2 hours idk I might wait for a sale or just stick with Blood & Truth
Ohw i want to see this one for sure!
Does this game also support aim controller?
It doesn't, you need to move your hands independently to take cover, climb, interact with the environment, reload weapons and other things. It's actually executed very well, it wouldn't be possible with the Aim, as great as it is in other games.
i really wish some psvr 1 games would get ported to 2
They're coming, just really slowly. A lot more will get ported over to PSVR2 when more studios establish themselves as PSVR2 port studios. Most teams don't have the manpower to do it themselves...
@@WithoutParole I want to believe that but I cant when I see praydog doing INSANE vr ports of non vr games all by himself and VERY quickly
How exactly is it "scaling to your platform"? I saw the comparisons of the demo and it looks completely identical on PS4 Pro and PS5.
@@nattila7713 No, what I saw is recordings of zoomed into PSVR lens, not the social screen output.
Eh I’ll give it a while and wait for it to be $10. Backlog too long anyways
Not sure the 2.5 hour campaign is worth to me, looks fun though
Less than an hour to find out if the game's as great as the demo suggested, or it all goes ' Ironman VR' on us .
I love iron man vr. The flying is amazing once you master it !!
I really enjoyed Iron Man.
@@CHROME-COLOSSUS Me too. Couldn't stand the demo. Full game was amazingly fun
Well... It must be really hard to make a good VR Game for that price, I guess. 2.5 hours... Man, I'll wait for a good sale.
Is it a rail shooter? Looks like a blast
Nope! You have complete freedom of movement like a traditional first person shooter.
@@WithoutParole I bought it either way 🙏
This channel and the vids are great, but after some time to reflect I can agree with a lot of what you said but not on the final score. It's more like a 5/10 for me. It's okay, but the lack of variety in the levels, enemies, and weapons, leaves a barebones First Person Shooter experience tht can't get by on it's style and pacing alone. I can't recommend this game at its current price; maybe when it goes on sale for 1/2 price. I would like to see a sequel though, and have them improve on what they have, which is does contain the DNA for a great game. To make a call back to the days in the 90s where FPS clones were everywhere, in the land of Doom this is Corridor 7.
Totally understandable. As I said on Gamescast it was one of the toughest games for me to score and I can totally see why some people would score it really low (or really high) :D
First honorary inductee in the PSVR hall of fame is.......**Opens Envelope"........Crisis On The Planets Of The Apes...............Here to accept the award is............What? All the devs are still hiding? Oh well. ;-)
Thanks for your review! :D i made some of the work there
[meows&swipes]
Does playing on PS5 vs PS4 Pro look better? Resolution, graphics ect
Depends on the game. With Fracked, yes. It uses dynamic resolution so it basically maxes out what the PSVR1 is capable of. There aren't too many other PSVR1 games that look dramatically better on PS5 - however Squadrons, No Man's Sky, and Dreams are all much MUCH better on PS5
@@WithoutParole thanks for the reply. This sounds dumb but is the tracking any better with the moves? I don't imagine hooking it up to the ps5 would have any impact on that right?
@@jaytpmc unfortunately the ps5 doesn’t improve tracking at all
Only two guns. Oh hell no this is a hard pass for me but amazing review as always. Thank you sir
This game really reminds me of guardians of the galaxy idk why
I need this game.
Good video. I want to get this game. 👌 :)
Bryan, try not to allude to your final score, now. There's good lad. : D
*purrrrr*
@@WithoutParoleXD
Eh that is short. May not be worth the early access amount. I do not care about skins.
Hmm... I guess the Demo is enough for me :-P
It looks for me like a borderlands clone which is not a bad thing .
