UPDATE: There have been a ton of patches to Wanderer since launch and I swear this game is nearing perfection. As far as I'm concerned it's one of the best games on the platform - and I'm really hoping for a PSVR2 version when the new headset launches.

Really glad to see they actually pulled this off. I just sold my PSVR because I moved with my wife and my daughter to a different country, so, I'm not sure when I'm going to be able to play this, but I will play it. It looks really good, and I can't wait to see more of it. I'm hoping for a patch maybe for PSVR 2... Oh, and GT7 of course.

Great to see a visually realistic title again. The saturation of the Quest means that most new games target simple, cartoon gfx for development reasons, but it's great to see what the old PS4 Pro and PSVR platform is still capable of. I wonder how much of a resolution hit the base PS4 takes?
The review is spot on. I literaly lost an item and was searching all over for it. The drum section made me miserable. Did they think that was gonna be entertaining? Having to guess which drum you're supposed to hit. I had to redo it 15 times. Other than that and a few oversights, this was one of my favorite vr games.
Just bought this after watching! It is 100% an experience, almost passed on this too, thank you!

I was worried this would be a high priced 5-6 hour game with somewhat simple puzzles, I'm very happy I was very wrong.
I would rather have a low-priced 5-6 hour game with simple puzzles, to be honest.
@@cvdinjapan7935 Mostly my concern came when I saw the price of the game, 39.99 EUR is a bit much, not too much but more than I expected. Haven't bought the game as I have enough games for now though.
I can understand wanting a shorter and cheaper game though but personally I like the somewhat longer VR games. Then again, one of my favorite VR games, Shadow Legend VR, is around 5 hours with all trophies done but with that said, my biggest complaint about the game is that it was so short.
But I understand that not all gamers have the time to play longer games so they prefer the shorter games.
@@zwippie92 Oh, yes! Shadow Legend was awesome. One of my favorite games on the system! I am so glad the length wasn't padded with a lot of wandering around and busywork. I prefer Shadow Legend over Swordsman by far for that reason. It was tight and didn't overstay its welcome or introduce any drudgery. I want more games like that!
They don't need to push the envelope graphically or have mind-blowing graphics. I just want something fun and affordable!

Good news. I don't know when the last patch was but I just started this earlier this week and there IS a crouch button, and I haven't had any crashes at all, and just a very few minor bugs.

Just got this game on a new physical copy for £10, I was blown away even playing it on the psvr 1 its just updated to patch version 1.15
Utterly stunning game...very taxing puzzles thow in some areas.
Now THIS is an awesome puzzle game. The 7th Guest could have learned a lot from Wanderer
So I guess I was worried for nothing! May jump into this game sooner than I thought!
Probably only me but this makes me think back to playing Tass Times in Tonetown when I was a little kid.

Looks awesome just wished they used the song. The Wanderer by Dion for the trailer. It's an old school song so it would fit with the vibe. They had a great opportunity.
Is it possible to go back & just replay the drumming mini game multiple times? I never got to try it on hard setting but don't want to replay the entire game just to replay that one part
Looks cool, I'm terrible at puzzle games and always find them frustrating yet I never learn my lesson and will probably buy this at some point. The PSN store (in the UK at least) says not available for purchase and gives no explanation why, hate it when it does that, and I can't even add it to my wishlist. Hopefully will be available eventually.

I was intrigued by this game for a long time now mainly because I adore time travel.
After watching some gameplay on the Perp channel I was really skeptical because the gator scene looked wonky but now I‘m probably gonna buy this game.

I don't know about this one. From the trailers, I expected it to be an 'on the spot' escape room à la 'I expect you to die'. Which by itself I enjoyed. So I'm kinda glad you're not stuck at single spot of predetermined spots. But then again, I also only enjoy a game like 'I expect you to die' because you can play them in short burst. I don't know how I feel about a prolonged escape room. I think I would more easily jump on board if it was more of a puzzle adventure (like for example how the original Tomb Raiders games were).
Although I have Move controllers, i find it odd when VR games excludes the DS4 controller. Especially in genres that have proven it also is doable with such a controller.
I haven't gamed for about a half a year now and although I want to jump back in, then I feel guilty because I still have my own VR-project that has been collecting dust, where I should be back at working.
I wish PSVR2 was out already so I can play this.

Hi Bryan. Really enjoying Wanderer but have a question and thought you'd be my best bet. There is an area with a typewriter and some letters you can remove but I left them alone thinking I might need them later. Anyway, everytime I go back to that area the letters have now gone. Just wondering if I'll need them later in the game and if you know a way of retrieving them. Thanks. Always come here first for PSVR.
You're going to need those keys later on. If the keys still aren't there when you quit the game and reload your progress, your best bet is to use the chapter select screen which resets a lot of the items in the world. The downside is that you might have to redo some of the puzzles or re-collect shards that you already picked up to upgrade Samuel.
@@WithoutParole thanks for the quick response. I thought I might need them😰 I've done quite alot after I first saw those keys. I've just realised the 'G' key is always there but the others have gone? Not sure weather to carry on and hope they reappear when needed or do the chapter select like you suggested.
If you carry on and unlock the next chapter (which should unlock after you acquire and actually use the next fragment you find) then at least you won't lose as much progress if you have to revert to the chapter select screen
@@WithoutParole so decided to restart a chapter like you suggested and the keys are back! I will have to replay some of what I already did but to be fair that's not a bad thing as the game is so good. Thanks for the advice. This is the kind of game I have been waiting for. Is there others kinda like Wanderer you can recomend?
Red Matter is similar, gorgeous graphics and good puzzles, but way shorter.
I enjoyed this for the most part but it really annoys me having trophies in which require insane precision when the game and tech aren't quite up to the task. Massive kudos to anyone who can get 31000 points in the drumming section. You must be a Rock Band god! #gamecat

It just gets better and better the more you play. Pretty easy to overlook some annoying bug when everything else is sooooo good! :D
I don't know why anyone would want to pass on this game. It's very good. You get a solid 8-10 hours of game play, and that's if you don't forget what future/past you left an important needed item. Plus there's literally many unique things to see off the beaten path that could lead to extra story down the road. It's a solid 8 for me right now.

It's right after you disarm the bomb in the myan temple and have the solve the circle puzzle to get out but the watch tells you to get a psychedelic frog and you go catch a blue frog with the fishing rod down the elevator shaft of the apartment in old Boston there's no clues after that he just keeps saying you need a frog and I have the frog lol.

Bit the bullet after seeing this review. Oddboy and M-Theory definitely crafted a winner on par with Blood & Truth (these production values definitely earn that price tag), but just like with that title I'm already feeling the constraints from the PSVR1's limitations preventing it from reaching that pinnacle of greatness that it deserves. I cannot wait to move on from these garbage Moves and get proper controllers with accurate tracking and analog sticks.
I hope the rumors of backward compatibility come true, because this game with proper PSVR2 support will be truly sublime.

Not basic, no. It's one of the most complex escape room games (disguised as an epic adventure) I've ever played. But if you don't like puzzles, this one isn't for you! :D
This was my last PSVR 1 game and I ended up giving up with it because of bugs. Too many frustrating moments throughout for me too. F@“king puzzle games…never again! 😂
The bugs in Wanderer were terrible but there have been a lot of patches since. Hopefully the PSVR2 remaster will finally deliver a perfect version of this one.

Had fun right up until that moving ring puzzle in the temple. Doubtful I'll ever figure it out. At least I got to see what I'm assuming is most or all of the time periods before I literally hit a wall.
I've heard from people who said that took them upwards of half an hour, but I accidentally stumbled into the answer within minutes. Hopefully you'll give it another shot at some point!
