Thanks! Yeah, it's both sad and hilarious how I went up a step each year. I'm tapped out, budget-wise, though... so this is it for a good long while. Too early to say if I'll keep this car forever, but it's a contender.

The GT350R in Canada without dealer mark up is almost $100,000 and the GT350 starts at $68,000 before taxes and other bullshit fees so you can imagine what price you'll really pay when you walk out the door!
At 4:40 I obviously meant the 2017 comes standard as a TRACK Pack, not tech pack.

the trans overheating issue is only when used on track because the base and tech pack are NOT track rated.
Unfortunately, some guys are reporting their tech cars going limp in stop and go traffic or just cruising the freeway in hot weather. It's rare, but it's happening. I'm sure most of us Base and Tech guys will be fine.
I'm really curious to see what tuners will do with this car just taking it stock and setting up a tune on it and getting more power. I'm really wanting one of these, and I'm getting closer to being able to get one oneday, but everyone mentions the sacrifice in torque for the higher RPM. Coming from a 1992 supercharged 5.0 that has boat loads of torque at 2500 rpm up on a light car it's hard to miss that.

Congrats thx for sharing. I'm a little bummed that i spent over 40k for my optioned out gt last year when i should have waited. Now the gt350 is out of reach for me. But I actually prefer the lower end torque curve of the coyote for a daily driver. But the gt350 is beautiful.

Only advise is, don't buy a GT350 without a Track pack. Indeed, 2017 track pack is now standard and there's a reason for that.
This is a great review. Finally someone that has there facts straight about this car. I also purchased a Base 2016 gt350 and it is such a bargain. Were you able to find a MSRP deal? Are you doing the steeda clutch spring? It really helped with the feel of the bite point. Did you book your track Attack experience yet? What is your chassis number? Definitely subscribed for more content.
Hey, man! Glad to see another base 350 owner. Thanks for watching! Yeah, I basically got the car at sticker, but I did have a little negative equity from the GT rolled in on top of it. I do plan to do the steeds clutch spring, though I find the clutch in the Shelby to be worlds better than it is in the GT. Oh, and my chassis number is G3955.

Because you upgraded your Ecoboost performance pack to GT, I also traded in my ecoboost for a GT. I think I need to get a GT350 in the near future. lol

You need the diff cooler if you drive it on the track. my performance pack cooked the diff and it throws up and error on the dash and will shut down the power
Yeah, definitely. I should've been more clear that the diff cooler is only overkill on the street. Unfortunately, even a Trans. cooler might be needed on the street since some guys with Tech and Base Shelby's are going limp in stop and go traffic on hot days.

my GTs tranny gets hot after spirited driving in the mountains too.
these cars should have all come with the oil coolers. ford knew about the issue too I saw a video of them track testing the car and one of the engineers saying the duff was getting hot. they went through the effort of adding temp sensors and programing limp mode so they deliberately took a calculated risk to not equip all cars with them.
hopefully they will do a recall or at the very least release a retro fit kit for the GT and GT350.
funny enough the previous mustangs also have the same issue on those you can get a finned diff cover and a oil cooler kit.

Why do you keep talking about "the GT whatever package"?! We All know the GT350 is far superior in every handling aspect than the GT..get to the driving, acceleration pulls, take us on a ride along on A twisty road..bro, please get to the driving. Keep the videos coming

So you bought it? I just bought my first mustang (2013 gt auto) and I am loving it. They are so rare here in Finland because they were never officially sold here. Was not looking race car after owning Cayman R, so GT was my choice.

Yes. I will buy 18x8 winter wheels and put studded nokian winter tires on them. Winter driving is no big deal when you have real winter tires(no all season) and reasonable ground clearance. My 2013 mustang gt has amazingly good ground clearance. I did some semi trail/sand road driving with it and it had no problems with big rocks or road lumps. Just had to take it slow as with any car in road that bad.

I actually had a track locked down until the dealership had me drive an hour just to find out they lied about their deal. Also, I'm lucky I have a source for my Trans and diff cooler so those won't be an issue to add on here. At that point I'm good, because I don't care about the magnetic shocks. They're cool, but i'm good saving $5000+ dollars after buying this car and adding two coolers myself if all I'm missing are the fancy dampers.
+Games&Gears great choice! That's exactly what I would've done if I were to buy one. I've driven both base and tech pack and the magna ride is nice, but not worth the price IMO.
+NDallas40 Why wouldn't you just buy the coolers they use on the track pack from Ford service parts? You'll need to buy the cooling ducts that attach to the front lower grills from Ford too.
+NDallas40 Ah, that's right. I forgot the base and tech pack transmissions don't have provisions for the trans cooler lines. well at least you could do the oil cooler.
+NDallas40 i got the warning message on my dash. and I have a GT so all s550s are affected by this problem. I've been wondering if the shelbys coolers can be retrofitted to the performance pack GTs and gt350s presumably they all use the same internals and cases. if it's just to swap the rear cover and mount some coolers and an oil pump I'd totally spend the cash to do that

I'm actually seeing comparable gas mileage when driven the same way as the GT. I'll give a full mpg report in Part 2.

How did you drive a car with magneride that wasn't a gt350? They're only available on the Shelbys. Stop lying to kick it. You lost me man, this car a: is soooo much better with the magneride. Yes I own one and driven one without. You must not be pushing this car as hard as you claim because it's noticeable when you do. B: the gt350 is built for the track but it's also meant for daily driving. You're the only one that claims different. Maybe if you had the magneride you'll know that you can. It's cool you opt for the base but pleeeease stop justifying it by claiming the upgrade isn't of value. And take it past 6k rpm that's where the power and is. Shm... pretty bad review dude, hopefully you'll do better with the next one. And hopefully with facts this time instead of what you assume to be true.
the only issue with mustangs and all ford products is that their interior is so Boring and hideous!!! Shoud they put an interior like Audi or Porsche, they would make one of the best cars ever!!!
dont say that the mustang interior is borin' n' hideous ...its still very good interior,but ford can make better interiors than porsche...AGREED...
Will you pay Porsche money for that better mustang interior...
