From what I understand, no, you can't, because they're separate maps. The 2P mode arena is based on the 1P level however so most of the objects from the original Cosmic Wall are still present as leftovers, but the level itself is not there.
This glitch is great for me because no one ever asks to hang out with me or plays games with me, so I'm always alone. Ah well, more time to do what I love.....
A small but useful glitch you can do with Tails and Eggman is quickly using hover the second you start jumping (so quickly pressing jump again). If you get the timing right you'll do a slightly higher jet assisted jump.
I think the reason why Digging is possible with Rouge in Sky Rail is.... To Sonic and Shadow, this is Sky Rail; to Eggman and Tails this is unknown, but to Rouge and Knuckles this is Pumpkin Hill... Really, think about it! Both Stages look similar, heck even on the 1P stage select you can see it on the map, and the terrain is just the same!

The buried items are random by digging so if knuckles/rouge were to dig in a normal spot they have a random chance to get a random item
what if you dig a hundred times in the same spot?
I think if you dig in a certain area more than once you cant get anything from there but you might be able to get a skull
