Revolva ND Adapter vs Canon VND for RED Komodo

- One of the missing features of the RED Komodo is built-in Internal NDs you get standard on other Cinema Cameras. The Kipper Tie Revolva ND tries to solve this issue by adding NDs before the lens. It almost makes the RED Komodo feel like it has built-in NDs. Not only that, it converts the RF mount to EF Mount. The build quality and color accuracy are amazing, but it comes at a price.
I also compare it to the Canon VND drop-in filter adapter which is much cheaper. However, if you want to keep your Komodo to a small package while having a fast way to drop in different ND filters that will not introduce any color variance, the Revolva is the best option.

Nice to the point review. Thanks
+1 can you still get autofocus?
Do you loose auto focus abilities?
Looks like a solid system but a bit overpriced for what it is. Thanks for the info dude
Yeah, it seems that way. I have to return the Revolva to my friend before I accidentally break it and I have to pay for it :)
I completely agree. I have the Canon system and it is very loose and I think all together cheap in build although not in price. The other thing is that all cages I have tried (and I have tried most) will not allow you to remove the filter without removing the lens. I am not sure if any of the third part versions of the canon are better as I have not tried any. If anyone has I would love to know.
I have the regular Canon RF to EF adapter and its fine, but it does wiggle somewhat. I've learned to have some kind of lens support to get rid of any movement.
Great video Marcos. What specific ND filters do you use with your Matte box?
I use the NiSi 4x5.65" IRND filters
hey what is the letter of the cartridge you are using and what is the small rig monitor mount you are using? Thanks.
