The Japanese title for the Pizza Cats game is Kyatto Ninden Teyandee, the Japanese title for the show. I was on the hunt for that game for ages! I finally found a really nice complete copy in Tokyo for a decent price last month! The Puss in Boots game is based on an anime Tōei made back in the 60s (it was released in the US too) inspired by the European fable. The cat character is named Pero, he became their mascot after the anime did well :)
A few months ago I asked about what what systems/games you had in your collection. You responded at the time that you'd consider something in the way of showing what you had. I think this "Saturday Show and Tell" is great way to do it! Thanks!
Yo! Erin's at it again! 😁Your love for older more rare/obsure games and gaming gear is contagious. Stuff before the 1980's pre NES. It's crazy how much video game tech there was!
Samurai Pizza Cats was rad. Used to watch that religiously as a kid. Stuff like that, Star Fleet and Bravestarr no-one ever talks about these days. Loving how you seem to have all the obscure Vectrex stuff. Never seen that carry case before. Looking forward to seeing all the random obscurities in your collection!
Quite the collection you have... you have also earned my admiration for delving far deeper into gaming than I have ever gone. Oh yeah... your Let's Play segments are AWESOME!
That Video Pinball by Atari and Olympian 2600 on the shelf just reminds me how cool and futuristic game systems used to look. Awesome collection, and great series concept: simple, informative, and excellent delivery. 5 gold stars
There's a side scrolling Sailor Moon game on the DS that was exclusive to Italy, also there are a bunch of beat em ups and RPGs on Super Famicom and Mega Drive.
Perfect video to start my saturday. I absolutely love u Erin. I wish you could do more videos every week. Also loved the lunchable ones. I really wouldnt want a guy reviewing those, and you do know way more than some guys on youtube about retro geekiness. So thanx for being real and not being a poser
I played that Puss n' Boots game when I was a kid. It was definitely very flawed but had a certain weird, simple charm to it. I still think it has its own charm today.
Fun fact about Diner: it was originally supposed to a He-Man game. The player controlled He-Man as he ran around the 3D-ish world. However, after Mattel sold off everything Intellivision after the video game crash, INTV Corp (who later owned the rights to Intellivision) took the incomplete He-Man game and converted it into Diner.
The Puss in Boots game is actually based on a 1976 Toei animated film called Puss 'n Boots Travels Around the World Which is actually the third film in Toei Animation's Puss in Boots trilogy that started with 1969's The Wonderful World of Puss 'n Boots. The franchise was so popular that the cat became the mascot for Toei Animation.
Samurai Pizza Cat. Thats the game I played in my childhood. loved it very much due to the big sprites and I even forget about it, thanks for bringing this memory back, Erin
Samurai Pizza Cats' Japanese title is Kettou Ninden Teyandee. I just knew it as Ninja Cats as I wasn't familiar with the cartoon when I was a kid. Yeah, it's a pretty great game.
I discovered your channel thanks to Mike Matei. Definitely subscribed and will watch every Saturday! Don't have enough time to watch all of the streams though. This is enjoyable!!
Looks like you have a real nice sizable collection there, Erin! I love the setup of yours! I remember when Samurai Pizza Cats used to be on. It would come on channel 17 here in Philly, then it was the WB station. Thought it was a fairly decent cartoon, though the one thing I could never stand about that show was the live-action segments with those kids who even back then I thought were really annoying, unfunny and uncool. Never played the game before, it looks pretty cool, and I love Tecmo NES/Famicom games too, and that Vectrex carrying case is badass! Sailor Moon I can admit I watched a lot back when it first started in 95. I used to watch it right before school on UPN 57, now CW. One of my very first crushes ever was Sailor Jupiter, mostly because any girl who had special abilities like electric powers I thought was really cool, and the theme song has been in my head for many years and never left. The Game Gear game really does look like a generic platformer. I never really played Puss n Boots all that much, but after watching you play it on your stream the other night, I feel like giving it a play real soon as it does look like a fun one. Toei is also the same company that bought us Power Rangers and VR Troopers. And Diner, complete in box, that is fucking awesome! That goes for a killing complete in box. I gotta try the ROM of that one sometime as I love Burgertime. Loving the idea of these Show and Tell Saturdays, Erin! There's some potential for those to be even better than James and Mike Mondays and Rental Review Fridays xD! Great video, Erin! Looking forward to the next one! - Mark
The nice thing about Diner! for the Intellivision is it doesn't rely on a tiny amount of levels repeated over and over with added difficulty. I think the highest level I made it to was 15, and each level was completely unique, no repeats. To me that's absolutely crazy knowing how little memory they had to work with. I've always had a love for the Intellivision. Around 1987 I bought a co-worker's old Intellivision II console (with completely ruined controllers), and more importantly a catalog from INTV (the company that bought the rights after Mattel dropped it) and started collecting all the games I could get my hands on. Toys R' Us was a a great resource, all their classic Intellivision games were maybe three dollars each in their clearance bins along with lots of Vectrex cartridges that I hate myself for not picking up (It'd be 2004 before I found my first Vectrex console) but in my defense I was only making $3.35 an hour part-time, so it's not like I could waste money on games for a system I had never actually played at that point. I pretty much have the majority of the Intellivision library after all these years, and I'd say that Diner! and Hover Force would be my favorites. When it comes to the ECS module (the computer add-on) then Mind Strike would have to be my all time favorite Intellivision game. Too bad my ECS stopped working a couple decades ago.
I used to watch Samurai Pizza Cats as well when I was a kid. Only difference is that it would air on YTV after school. Just before supper, if memory serves me correctly. I really, really liked the show, and had that Famicom game came out on NES back in the day, I know I would have had a blast playing it.
Oh hey! I just played through _Samurai Pizza Cats_ on the NES a few months ago - it was on a multicart and (along with a half-dozen or so other games) completely patched a fan-translation in. I actually looked into it after playing it, and was SHOCKED to find out it WASN'T a domestic release. Like , we had the show, and the fan translation is SPOT ON in terms of dialogue and tone... it was surprisingly good. AND from the old "Team Ninja" (the Tecmo group who made the NES Ninja Gaiden games)! How did that get stuck in Japan? I really enjoyed the heck out of it, even though it was real short. What a fun game - awesome to see you have a genuine article for the Famicom right there :D
I have the Kuro VGA version of the Dreamcast box. My new TV doesn't have VGA so I just ordered a Hyperkin HDMI converter to use instead. I heard the Hyperkin is slightly better than the Pound version.
I remember Samurai Pizza Cats when I was 9 and 10 in 1996 and 1997. It was on UPN, Channel 13 here from Los Angeles, California. Yeah, watching Samurai Pizza Cats, not just that Anime. Also I remember Dragon Ball Z, Saban Eagle Riders, Disney Mighty Ducks, Superman: The Animated Series, Freakazoid!, G.I. Joe Extreme, Street Sharks, Skysurfer Srike Force, All Dogs Go To Heaven: The Animated Series, Beast Wars: Transformers, ReBoot, Wayne Head, Road Rollers, Princess Gwenevere and the Jewel Riders, The Magic School Bus, Arthur, Kids Songs (with puppets or muppets characters on it after 80s and early 90s, like mid 90s change Kids Songs) Story Time, Wish Bone, VR Troopers, Goosebumps, Power Rangers Zeo, Big Bad Beetleborgs, and some other TV Shows for kids and cartoons in 1996. Remembering the year 1996, in my time when I was little boy.
I remember Bananas in Pajamas coming on after Sailor Moon, and VR Troopers coming on before it. At least, that was the lineup in my area. Very cool that they made a Samurai Pizza Cats game, though! And that Vectrex carrying case is awesome! I wonder if mine would fit in it with the speaker the original owner soldered onto it. By the way, I have some info on Puss N Boots for you. It’s actually based on the Puss N Boots animated movie, “Puss N Boots Travels Around The World”, which itself is based on Around The World In 80 Days. That was one of the first animes I ever watched as a kid. The premise of the anime is that Pero makes a claim that he could get around the world in 80 days, which is quicker than Count Gruemont, the final boss in the game, ever was able to get around the world with all the money he spent. Count Gruemont makes a bet with Pero that if Pero can make it around the world in 80 days, Gruemont will give Pero his vast estate, but if he doesn’t make it, Pero will become Gruemont’s slave. In the US release of the anime, Pero’s name is changed to Pussty and Count Gruemont’s name is changed to Rumblehog. In the US release of the game, they change the plot considerably by saying that Pero already worked for Gruemont, and one day Gruemont say a mouse in his castle and ordered Pero to kill it, but instead Pero set the mouse free outside the castle. In a fit of rage, Gruemont sent Pero through a time warp, and he is trying to reach Gruemont’s time ship so he can return home. There is even a Captain N episode called “Once Upon A Time Machine”, which is based on the Puss N Boots game, so it did have some significance back in the day! I recommend seeing the anime and Captain N episode if you get the chance. I also recommend the Sailor Moon DS game if you like the concept of Sailor Moon side scrollers. It was released exclusively in Italy, so the text is all in Italian, but it plays just fine in our DS systems, and even in 3DS. You end up having to play as all the senshi because each one can get to areas that none of the others can reach. If you get it and have trouble, feel free to ask me any questions you might have, as I have beaten it and got all the collectibles.
Was that The Great Giana Sisters theme song at 2:26? Now there's a blast from the past, I played it on the Atari ST, but apparently there's also a modern.. sequel or something for PC
This was quite interesting and I always enjoy watching you and Mike as well on streams when I can catch you live. But most of the time I have to watch them when they are uploaded. Anyway this should continue on when you feel like making them. Something different to bring to the table. :) I just got a Dreamcast in the box last week at a local used video game store and have been enjoying it. I only have three games for it so far, but want to get more. As for the Vectrex, that is a system I want to own before they get super expensive. But of course I really want a Turbo Duo PC Engine, Turbo Grafx etc... lol
Puss & Boots is neat; I like the green burgers you get underwater! The gun at the bottom of the screen is to show you which weapon you have selected. It's been a while, but I think that if you pause the game and press left and right, you can switch to the boomerang or bombs. I've never even heard of Diner, but it looks cool; I'd always thought that the sequel to Burgertime was Peter Pepper's Ice Cream Factory.
I want a Vectrex but my local retro game store wants $450 for the one they have. I just started a channel myself, I’ve done one unboxing and have no clue what to do next😂.
So, the last few days I've been watching the past live stream you and Mike Matei did for Resident Evil 2.... that made me look up your channel and this video! Anyway, I always love seeing others games, game rooms and collections. AND, thanks to Mike, I found out about you.
that nes puss in boots game, was also a movie called The Wonderful World of Puss 'n Boots. there was a and two more from its franchises: Nagagutsu Sanjūshi and Puss 'n Boots Travels Around the World
I enjoy your random collection videos :). There is an English patched nes rom for samurai pizza cats. Haven't played it yet, but that's cool how you switch characters during levels for different abilities. Similar to bloodstained for switch and other systems.
Hey fellow ginger! You were right. Samurai Pizza Cats DID follow Sailor Moon on UPN back in the day. I had to be at school in the middle of Sailor Moon so if it was an episode I hadn't seen I just started in with some serious coughing and a puny voice and BAM! No school. Playing hookie just isn't as fun as it used to be. Keep up the good work. You're a credit to our kind.
I always hoped you'd do a video like this and it did not disappoint! You should try Chu Chu Rocket for Dreamcast. It's a puzzle game where you have to get a certain amount of mice into a rocket ship before they are eaten by cats! It's really fun and really crazy. Also you can make your own levels too
I actually was playing Chu Chu Rocket the other night, and that is definitely one of the harder puzzle games I've played! I love the idea of it and how it looks, but I admittedly suck at it XD
Glad to see Rainbow Islands on your shelf. I loved that game on Amiga. Its weird people talk so much about Bubble Bobble but not the sequel, which in my opinion is far superior. Are you a fan of RI?
I'm completely loving this Show and Tell Saturday business. Looking forward to more installments. Endlessly entertaining.
Erin's Show and Tell Saturdays > Saturday Morning Cartoons
Awesome! Thanks for showing us your goods!

Yes, I love this! A great fresh take on showing collections, keep this format up! It's like life, which is like a box of chocolats!
Wooo! Diner! Great game, and not all that easy to find. Great vid Erin! Thanks for bringing love to my beloved Intellivision.
Excellent collection. You know, in each video lights more and more beautiful. I love you Erin, you are a dream, beautiful 💓
A few months ago I asked about what what systems/games you had in your collection. You responded at the time that you'd consider something in the way of showing what you had. I think this "Saturday Show and Tell" is great way to do it! Thanks!

Awesome format with the ‘Show and Tell’ theme - looking forward to more of these! 🙂
This was a very entertaining series Erin, Saturdays are always enjoyable when your videos come out.
That Video Pinball by Atari and Olympian 2600 on the shelf just reminds me how cool and futuristic game systems used to look. Awesome collection, and great series concept: simple, informative, and excellent delivery. 5 gold stars
Right? I think that's why I love those old pong consoles so much. The packaging and presentation was perfect. And thank you very much!
That Vectrex carrying case is awesome! More Vectrex vids please!
There's a side scrolling Sailor Moon game on the DS that was exclusive to Italy, also there are a bunch of beat em ups and RPGs on Super Famicom and Mega Drive.
I didn’t know about the Italy exclusive. I’ll have to look into that, thanks!
awesome! a new Erin plays! WOOOOOOOOO! something to watch before Church :D
Love the new series so far! Looking forward to next Saturday :)
These won’t necessarily be every Saturday, but when I do one I’ll release it on Saturday :) thanks for watching!
Perfect video to start my saturday. I absolutely love u Erin. I wish you could do more videos every week. Also loved the lunchable ones. I really wouldnt want a guy reviewing those, and you do know way more than some guys on youtube about retro geekiness. So thanx for being real and not being a poser
I never skip your adds that way you get something for your hard work, don't ever stop doing UA-cam!
That's super nice of you! Thanks :)
Boy Erin, you are quite the collector. I'm jealous!!👍👍👍
Thanks Erin. Now I can enjoy this video during my lunch break at work.
You're video's put people in a good mood. The work of a saint. More please!
a big yes for Dreamcast games
I played that Puss n' Boots game when I was a kid. It was definitely very flawed but had a certain weird, simple charm to it. I still think it has its own charm today.
Yes please show us what you’ve got! (Wink, Wink)

Love it! Stoked for the next one
came here cause i saw you on cinamassacer. i love it, you have a great show.

Puss N Boots was an anime feature produced by Toei in the 70s, I believe. The character became their mascot. THEN came the video game.
The cat lady is from season 3 she was made from a puzzle.
So many famicom gems! 8 and 16 bits was the best era.
Taurus Orion to die for . Yes.
I discovered your channel thanks to Mike Matei. Definitely subscribed and will watch every Saturday! Don't have enough time to watch all of the streams though. This is enjoyable!!
Thanks! I’m glad you found me :)
Same, are you too dating?
I watched samurai pizza cats on UPN channel 69 also.
I didn't think anyone else knew about the cartoon.
Oh WOW AWESOME Collection So COOL😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️
love your collection
Samurai Pizza Cats :o I remember that show! Soooo classic.
Good find on that Vectrex carrying case.

Loving the idea of these Show and Tell Saturdays, Erin! There's some potential for those to be even better than James and Mike Mondays and Rental Review Fridays xD!
Great video, Erin! Looking forward to the next one! - Mark
Love this! Great idea for a series! If they had kept coming out with more games, the Burger Time Extended Universe would rival Marvel today.
Dont forget the most valuable addition to your collection.
Mike.
and james as a bonus
That head of lettuce on the Diner box reminds me of Madballs.
I watched Samurai Pizza Cats as a kid too, it was so goofy.
Saturday vids? Yeeah im down. Thanks, Erin.
Your videos keep getting better and better Erin 😊 maybe someday do a game room tour video?
Thanks so much! And I’m sure at some point I’ll do a room/set up video :)

I could watch this all day i want to see everything!
I am glad you talked about Pussnboots. It was one of my favorite NES games as a kid.
I played intelevision on the controler I got from save a lot they have a blast from the past games like astrosmash, shark shark, sports and more.
Yay Erin!!
This was a good idea
I have the Kuro VGA version of the Dreamcast box. My new TV doesn't have VGA so I just ordered a Hyperkin HDMI converter to use instead. I heard the Hyperkin is slightly better than the Pound version.

I really enjoyed this new feature. Please do more :)
Yeah - definitely some DC coverage. A Bangai-O playthrough would be cool!
Erin, nice video. I want that Samurai pizza cat game so bad!
the Best Sailor Moon game ever, is Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon for arcade. It kinda follows the anime and has really cool cut scenes.
Ah the good old days waking up to sailor moon before school
Was that The Great Giana Sisters theme song at 2:26?
Now there's a blast from the past, I played it on the Atari ST, but apparently there's also a modern.. sequel or something for PC
Kyatto Ninden Teyandee!!! Aka Samurai Pizza Cats!

Ooh you've got the double player controllers. I got those with my nes, they are so rare.
You are getting much more comfortable in these videos. Onward and upwards!
Thanks!
@@ErinPlays It is hard to be in front of people! It takes time to find yourself.
I think Peter Pepper's Ice Cream Factory is in the same universe as Burger Time. I want to play that some day!
Awesome 😁
Please, introduce Mike to the MSX, as always I highly recommend Penguin Adventure it'll blow his mind like it blew mine back in the late 80s.
I want a Vectrex but my local retro game store wants $450 for the one they have. I just started a channel myself, I’ve done one unboxing and have no clue what to do next😂.
Do whatever you feel like doing! Talk about a game you like :)
I will see how it goes. Thanks for responding, I didn’t expect it.
So, the last few days I've been watching the past live stream you and Mike Matei did for Resident Evil 2.... that made me look up your channel and this video! Anyway, I always love seeing others games, game rooms and collections. AND, thanks to Mike, I found out about you.

I think the cat is flying with nunchucks.
Never heard of Samurai Pizza Cats... sounds like a cross between TMNT and Garfield.
My brother's & I used to watch Samari Pizza Cats while waiting for the bus to pick us up for school. might have to try that game. 😁
I bought Samurai Pizza Cats a couple of months ago and I am still stuck on the first level. I can't figure out how to blow up that wall.
Gotta switch cats!
I loved upn
The Dreamcast looks amazing through a vga cable, I have mine set up with a pc monitor in my game room. Do more Dreamcast! :)
Yeah, it can be tough. The one way arrow tiles don't make it any easier! The look of it is instantly iconic though!
vectrex is the key to life
I want one
It was ok. Great display limited by the hardware and a flooded market. Shame really
Glad to see Rainbow Islands on your shelf. I loved that game on Amiga. Its weird people talk so much about Bubble Bobble but not the sequel, which in my opinion is far superior. Are you a fan of RI?
Diner! NIce!
Would like to see more of your McDonald's stuff. I'm sure you have enough to make series on it.
I’ll totally incorporate some of that stuff into upcoming episodes :)
wow that atari video pinball was my first console
Nice Video Erin I have played Samurai Pizza Cats before I have too pick it up
Puss N Boots is a solid/fun game. Got stuck towards the end, in the factory level I believe. Recommended though
Erin you're awesome af!
Excellent video Erin and Mr Driller is awesome! You should do a whole video on Mr Driller one time
Thank you! And maybe . . .I'll at least stream it :)
Great collection great video
BTU, British Thermal Units? Good Vid, I've actually been looking for Puss n' Boots just recently. Can't be as bad as most NES games.
How is it I could remember Thundercats, Swat Cats, and Garfield, but forget all about Samurai Pizza Cats?! I'm so ashamed 😓 Love you for this, tho.
@Boco Corwin Nah, I could pass on them. Frankly, I don't know why that segment and those characters even existed.
Shout out to Jose!!!!
