When I lived in Ft. Lauderdale I kept my sailboat off Biscayne bay. More weekend options than hanging out in the ocean or waterways. A friend lived on the water in Ft. Lauderdale and planned on 45 minute trip to the ocean. Then the bridge and train crossings when in a car will drive you nuts.
Yep! We've had 30 minute holds going up and down the New River a couple times. Often it's just a few minutes for the Brightline, but when a freighter is coming, you can be stuck for a while. If the tide is slack, it's not a big deal, but if you're running with the tide and there's other traffic, it can get stressful!
Years ago, I had a sailboat docked on the citrus isles. It was 25' and had a 6HP outboard kicker. Having to navigate between 3rd Ave and Andrews was always a challenge, especially when going with the tide.
Captain makes fun of me because I always obsess about the tide when we're preparing to run the river, but a couple times we had to run with the flow, which as you know limits steerage, some quirky currents around the Davie bridge caused us real trouble. Definitely prefer slack or oncoming tide situation even though it takes a bit more feel, that added steerage is essential in tight quarters!
@@WanderbirdLife Totally agree. Usually didn't have trouble around the Dave Blvd bridge, but I know it can get squirrely around there. I live in Tarpon River neighborhood near the 'S' curve and love to watch the big yachts being towed. The biggest I've seen through there is 200;. It takes a lot of skill to navigate that curve and the whole river.
@@jamess1314 that’s a great spot - pretty entertaining watching them go by.. I’d love to catch one that big sometime .. I think someone did a video of one that size in coordination with the tow company..
HAH - I've seen plenty of helicopters on board yachts at the marinas and shipyards inland, which is right next to the airport, but I have yet to see one take off or land from there!
I live near the river and sometimes check the ownership of some of the big yachts. Mostly they seem to be corporate owned. So if you want to complain about wealth, maybe it's time you started looking at the corporations.
Ayyyyyeee... we made it 🙌 Enchanté all day
Are you from Enchante? Or just rooting for them!?

Poor rich people.
Seriously.. wait until the next episode, 5 in a row all over 30 meters each!
its always a train wreck there
It’s definitely a challenge! I’m editing another with much bigger boats .. gets real packed!
Never mind the 1%, the problem here is the 0.1%! Too much of this shit is the need to flaunt it.
Wealth disparity is pretty extreme in the world. I just find the logistics of these moves interesting.

@@jamess1314 I think even if privately owned, they’re held in an LLC or business and chartered in order to write off expenses
