I had thought that my GX was sluggish for a V8 and I read my manual and leaving it in D was Eco Mode so no throttle response unless you slam the pedal to the ground. The fix was to tap your shifter to the left and use your +- upshifts and down shifts. Now I have that power I desire when needed.
Through the menu, you can shut ECO off. I've been using S+- alot. Around town, S3 and highway S5 or 6 depending how fast I'm going. MY problem is I'm used to a manual, and up-shifting from 3rd to 4th was straight down on the shifter, so I find myself shifting from 3rd to 2nd too often for my comfort. the AI in the trans wont let you blow your trans by down shifting and red lining, from what the manual says, but I dont feel good about it anyway, and Ivve made the mistake enough that I feel the money for a throttle response controller is justified, vs buying a new trans
I recently installed the identical device on my 2020 GX. As soon as I put the vehicle in reverse and stepped on the accelerator, all I can say is: OMG. What a day and night difference. I left my setting at P2.6 and now my V8 feels like a V8 should. Thanks for the video, super easy....I followed your suggestion with controller in the center console.
@@ATLASAUTOREPAIR Thanks, yes I understand this. My question was: after I set the desired parameters on the controller/display unit- can I disconnect it or it always needs to be connected for the throttle module to function.
The only way it wouldn’t use more gas as if it was forcing it to run lean which would be bad for the head temperature especially with the valley plate issue and type of gasket they use on the heads. I know the guy below says it doesn’t but it’s so counterintuitive it’s ridiculous. The reason why this car was tuned as such was for longevity and also that it’s an off-road vehicle that’s not supposed to burn out every time you hit the gas. Personally I’d never do this mod but to each his own and a lot of people don’t keep their cars long so here’s to the poor people who buy used ones😂

If you want access to the full power band - do this.

Glad the video helped! Yes, the difference is amazing!
This is how i turned my porsche carrera into an unstoppable offroad monster
Hey man, would you know the part number for that center console box storage tray by chance?
Can it function without the display panel connected? meaning just use display to set desired level and than disconnect?
The controller is part of the display. You can set it and tuck it away if you want.

@@jdesmo1 no it will not. The controller is integrated into display mechanism. Without a plug in it will not work
Hey buddy will this work with 2017 Lexus Gx460 . Need to be sure before i order

@TipswithRuss appreciate you taking time to reply . Will order soon .
What mode do you normally keep it in?
P2 level 5
Does it kill your gas mileage?
It doesn't

No valet mode, no lock out?
It does. I don't use that part
What is the 0-60 with that?
it doesn’t make the suv any faster
It will ruin the mpg from bad to terrible
Be very carful with these brands they have known issues with going into limp mode or even worse your car will take off on its own
Toyota has the laggingest throttles in the business.
On the 460 they are but still very fast.
I’d rather have some lag than a chinesium box in control of my vehicle
Two bad options 😂
I know, $55 bucks to control what a dedicated Japanese team spent decades perfectioning....no thanks
Just wear the wife's platform shoes. Same effect lol
Hahahahahah
Already too complex for my simple mind
