Two years later I come back and visit this video. Since then I retired after 34 years LE. I switched over to the .40 and .357 Sig for my EDC carry guns now. Recently got a Glock 27 and I LOVE it! I love felt recoil with that caliber!!!! I can comtrol double taps without issue. Long live the .40!
The 40 S&W has the most energy of the three common calibers and is on par with 9mm in pressure and almost on par with velocity while being a heavier bullet than the 9mm. All of this means that the 40 obviously has the most kick (and arguably so called “power) out of all three. People need to stop being surprised that it kicks more than a 45 acp, just do the math and you’ll understand why the muzzle flip is always more.
@@GassyBastard I would say rather equal. A 180gr 45+p has about the same velocity than a 180gr 40. There are some hot 135 and 155gr 40 S&W out there, they could still have more energy.

Gerlon Two Fingers I shoot 40 at work, and I agree that it’s snappy but controllable. I still prefer my G26 over the G27 because there’s not a benefit to the 40 over the 9mm anymore. It’s just personal preference.
@@SargeC4Defense I don't mean to be the "numbers guy" but, I'll give you a little data. Just recently took some round files to a G27 gen 2.5. A trigger guard undercut makes it much more ergonomic and comfortable as does Pearce PG-2733 pinky extensions with the top lip shaved off to stop pinching. Also, a threaded G23 barrel gives 100 more fps to Underwood 200gr Hard Cast. All that, plus a 9/16-24 compensator gives faster follow-up shots against lions, and tigers, and bears, oh my! Woods carry ready!
Got the G27 & G30 . The G30 is a sweet shooter but I couldn't hit jack until I put a Talon granulated grip on the G27 & now I have no problem making accurate shots with a 2 finger grip.
Glock 26, the best concealed carry gun which comes with three 10-Round magazines. It's also compatible with a 15round Glock19 magazine and a 17round Glock17 magazine, so you can increase the capacity by swapping magazines. It can also fit a 33-round magazine which makes it unique from other sub compact concealed carry guns.
You can see the plates swing more with the .40 than the 9mm. Some say “modern technology has made the 9mm better than it used to be”... which is true. But that same technology applies to .40 (and others) as well. Some complain about the “snappiness” of the .40. True, it does have more felt recoil than shooting regular 9mm ammo, but most people who say that, practice with regular white box 9mm ammo, then load +P+ in their guns for self defense. The problem here, is that they don’t TRAIN with +P+ 9mm. If they did, they wouldn’t notice much difference between felt recoil of a +P+ 9mm VS the .40. As for service life, my agency has been carrying .40 since 2009, and we VERY rarely have ANY issues with our handguns. All that to say this: Great video and all 3 are good choices! Enjoyed the video!

I really struggle with accuracy with the 10/9rd mags with no pinky extension. The 19/23 mags with the sleeve (or even without the sleeve) is how i roll now. I keep 2 17/22 mags in a carrier for reloads. Ill always feel i am sufficiently ammo’d up and have confidence in being accurate enough to do what needs done.
You can learn to shoot it just fine with the pinky tucked under the bottom of the grip, but running the pinky extension is fine too. No one is gonna notice you’re carrying anyways, so what does the extension matter?
You left the KING out! The glock 33...ounce for ounce the most POWERFUL carry subcompact glock. Capable of 500+ ft/lbs...and maximum penetration!! Energy and penetration!!
I just bought a gen 4 27 last week. The box was missing all of the backstraps and only had 2 mags. Now I need to bitch at Glock to send me the backstraps and a magazine.
Really good video that shows the actual difference between the 26, 27 and 30. Just the type of video people can use to make an informed decision about which of the three to carry. On a side note, you obviously live in a state where they respect Second Amendment rights. Here in New York State we have a autocratic, dictator of a governor, who is also afflicted with Stage 4 megalomania, who wants to take away all of our guns and our civil rights.
Glock 27 is my everyday carry. Plus one in and 15rnd backups. 26 is my backup. 27 definitely kicks a little more but can still put 10 holes in a paper plate at 20ft in less than 3 seconds.

Nice comparison. I’m looking for a little more oomph than my g42 delivers for another conceal carry option. Considering the g30 or g30s. Had the g26 and traded it for a Ruger 45LC for the woods.🙂
I have three Glocks, a 17, 22, and 27. It There is not much difference in recoil and control with the full size Glocks in 9mm and .40. Chico McCombs ; appreciate the thumbs up. Yeah I’ve carried about every popular caliber. Went back to the 9mm before the police started switching back. Love it. Cheap ammo, great penetration, and these days with all the mass shootings high capacity makes more and more sense. Citizens can end up in honest to god shootouts. Hope it never happens but nice to not be helpless.
9mm only has the advantage of higher capacity magazines when compared to the 40 S&W. For a duty gun I carry the glock 19, because when on duty it is unpredictable on how long and how many shots I may need. 9mm takes the cake for duty situations, but for off duty conceal carry, and for personal defense situations that tend to be close quarters I prefer and firmly believe the 40 s&w takes the cake, because it delivers a higher yield of foot pounds of energy. A 40 s&w when in close quarter combat would put a bigger incapacitating wound and would cause the assailant to bleed out quicker. Not to mention terminal ballistics of 40 S&W are higher when compared to the 9mm.
@@SargeC4Defenselmao at saying “zErO aDvaNtaGeS”. There are plenty pros and cons to either. The person commenting literally admits he’d choose 9mm for longer engagements. But he’s not wrong in the idea that if he needed 1 round or a few rounds for self defense then 40 could be considered optimal when it is in fact more powerful with similar capacity. Hopefully your smooth brain can process there are not “ZeRO” advantages 😂

Sarge, thank you so much for the great comparo. I EDC an easily concealabe G19, have a G26 with +2 extenders and X-Grip G19 mag spacers for outfit versatility.....and am (was?) considering a 19X. It's grip is only 1/4" or so longer, and not too much longer for concealment on my body. Then 2 weeks ago at the range a friend tells me I can shoot a box of 50 rounds thru his G38 .45 GAP. I steadied for it to try to jump outta my hand. BAM! (Thought: "Huh?...What the hell? This is a damn .45?") BAM! BAM! BAM! Well, felt no truly discernable (read: additional) recoil after just shooting my 19, 26, even the wife's 43, was every bit as manageable, very accurate right-handed, off-handed, or one-handed with either hand. Blew my mind. May rent one, but after checking out 5-10 shooting reviews after yours, may not need to. Glock CLEARLY has shut down the recoil discussion. So, since the 30SF fits nicely in between size-wise, has 10+1 with G21 spare mag capability....I am sold. Again, much appreciated & take care.
@@SargeC4Defense Oh, okay....was not aware of the GAP ammo issue, so I'll stick with the 30SF for sure. I love my Gen 3 Glock 30! Sweetest gun I’ve ever owned.
It is a simple, yet brilliant handgun.

Got the g30 gen 3 and g26 gen 4 both and love my subcompacts hands down !👌🏼💯💥💨
@@jonsmith8083 shes definitely a thick bitch but still a really awesome firearm
Jordan Nguyen the shortened frame version is much better
Very good video. Liked how you showed all the different magazines in them 👍🏼
Glad you liked it!
Awesome video, definitely earned my sub. I wish there was more content on the G27. Really looking foward to purchasing one.
It's a snappy little gun, but it's a good performer
RuNGun 99 I just picked one up and can’t wait to practice. My shooting club isn’t open yet.
Great review man. Cleared up things for me. Now I know what direction I'm heading. Thanks
There really no bad choice here, it’s all personal preference.
Try all 3 and make up your own mind. What works best for one might be garbage to someone else.
You forgot one...the Glock 29 . Excellent video and thank you Sir.
Good call!
Great video. Very informative
Glad it was helpful!
Great video sir. I have Glock 30 gen 2,5 (without rail) and i love it
I had my G30 out today. Love it!
Nice work man
Thank you
I really struggle with accuracy with the 10/9rd mags with no pinky extension.
Needed this video, thank you!

Great video. I'm new to the channel. So far so great. I have the g-26 and love it.
Thanks, I’m glad you’re here.
good stuff, Sarge.
i'm sure i'll wind up with another glock one of these days.
It just kinda happens.
Just got my first glock the 21 and now I really want that 26 for EDC
The G21 is one heck of a weapon
@@SargeC4Defense I finally shot her yesterday. She shoots pretty soft for a 45.

Welcome to the club. I’ve been carrying a 2.0 shield. But a Glock 26 is about as good as it gets for a carry pistol
Great video thanks 👍🏾
Thank you
All great offerings for conceal carry from Glock.i personally go with the 26 gen 5 🤠
I’ve upgraded to the Gen 5 26 a while ago
You left the KING out! The glock 33...ounce for ounce the most POWERFUL carry subcompact glock. Capable of 500+ ft/lbs...and maximum penetration!! Energy and penetration!!

Great video and purdy darn good shootin!😎 I love my Glock 30SF. Stay safe Brother. 😎🇺🇸
😃👍
I just bought a gen 4 27 last week. The box was missing all of the backstraps and only had 2 mags. Now I need to bitch at Glock to send me the backstraps and a magazine.
They probably will. If not, you can find that stuff pretty cheap for n gun broker.
what no G 29 10mm???
I’d love to shoot one of those little beasts!
Or 33
Same.
If he had the G29, there would be nothing else to discuss.
Great video bro
Appreciate it
Really good video that shows the actual difference between the 26, 27 and 30.
Glad you enjoyed it
Glock 27 is my everyday carry. Plus one in and 15rnd backups. 26 is my backup. 27 definitely kicks a little more but can still put 10 holes in a paper plate at 20ft in less than 3 seconds.
Jeremy Steele 10 shots on a paper plate, from 20 yards, in under 3 seconds? I’m impressed.
@@SargeC4Defense yes. 4" pattern on rapid fire from 20 yards. Me and My oldest son have been going to the range every other week. I can also draw smiley faces at 20 yards.
That's amazing! Skill like that should be recorded on video for everyone to see - even Jerry Miculek would be impressed by that! I was so disappointed to see no gun videos at all on your channel. But, I'm sure you can hit a paper plate-sized drum 10 times in under 3 seconds.
Jeremy Steele 👌🏻
@@GizzardGary Thanks. I'm a drummer so most of my posts are of bad drumming lol. Thanks for the idea though. Next time we go to the range I'll have to do some recording. Had a couple local police stop me at a range one day because they thought I converted my Glock 27 to fully automatic. I showed them the sweet spot in the trigger pull and by the time I left they were having a blast with it. I've got both my sons shooting as well. My oldest is getting his permit and gun soon. My youngest is going to be a sniper lol

I’d like to see a video with Glock 27 with a 9mm conversion barrel compared to the Glock 26.
That would be interesting 🤔

Thanks brother!
Kinda wanted to click off the video when after 2 or 3 shots I didn’t hear any “pings” off the metal targets. Glad I continued watching. Wife wants a new gun and I’m not too familiar with anything other than glock 22 and the 19. Great video.
Thanks brother.
40 cal and 45 doesnt kick bad at all when I shoot them and I'm 140 pounds
Lil Git 😃👍
Nice comparison. I’m looking for a little more oomph than my g42 delivers for another conceal carry option. Considering the g30 or g30s. Had the g26 and traded it for a Ruger 45LC for the woods.🙂
Good choice. Treat yo self
Love my 26 and 30S. 30S will fit into my 26 holster. I’ve never been a 40 fan but to each their own.

I bought 2 gl9 mags for my g26 1 is causing the slide to lock back when it still has rounds and the other is reliable.
That’s odd. What is pushing the slide lock up?

I have three Glocks, a 17, 22, and 27. It There is not much difference in recoil and control with the full size Glocks in 9mm and .40. But there does seem to be quite a bit of difference between the baby Glocks. If I had it to do over, I would probably have got the 26 or even the 23 instead of the 27.
I’m gonna get my G26 optic cut in the next few weeks.

The Glock 30 never ever came with a 9 round magazine it has always came with 10 round mags. The 9 round is an extra purchase item!
GunsHarleysUSA apparently they did when they first came out, according to the rep, that’s why he had them in stock when I ordered it. I may contact Glock to verify either way. Thanks for watching and commenting.
My 30s came with a 9 and a 10 round magazine.

That joke still hitting after a year
I started a joke !!!!! , Just saw your reply. Thanks for the thumbs up. Man, I wish would have bought more 9 mm ammo now. Have plenty to hold down the fort but no much to train with. Have tons of 45 ACP but don’t lug around my 1911 anymore.
Great Video! I have a fun stick for the 27 and it holds 31 also.
Wow, that’s a lot of 40 cal!
Agree totally brother.....
👍
There’s zero advantages of .40 over 9mm, so that’s why 9mm > .40.
I thumbed up, but personally I'm all 27!
I love feeling the shot I place on target
#(ck) common knowledge
I’ve always described my G27 as violent but accurate. It’s definitely a good choice.
I conceal carry the G27 and love it. The G30 was harder for me to conceal.
The G30 is a little bulky
I got the 30s with a SLR +3 on it total of 13 rounds (12+1) and im in love with it, I’m thinking of getting a slide slide for optic and coward serration make it a ultimate CCW
Good job; all good choices, just depending on how much power you choose.
Very true
Thank you
😀
I have the Glock 27 and it’s awesome great video 👌👌👌
Right on
Great job.
Thank you.
I’m a big fan of the Glocks in 9mm and 45 acp. They handle the recoil very well. The only concern with the 45 GAP is ammo availability.
@@SargeC4Defense Oh, okay....was not aware of the GAP ammo issue, so I'll stick with the 30SF for sure. By the way, the wife and I drove up two weeks ago and were in Fletcher for a week at her cuz' house....didn't realize C4 is just a stone throw away! Very cool. Anyway, coming back up for Christmas, as we do every year and hope to move to western Carolina one day. We love your neck of the woods. Take care, Sarge.

If I could only have one handgun it would be the Glock 26 gen 5. It takes all Glock double stack 9mm magazines and you can make the grip longer with mags and sleeves if you want too. My favorite Glock

Well pay for it and wait 10 days , then pick it up 😂
