I use organic coconut oil for the skin on his beak and for dry flaky feet.
❗please keep in mind that I blow dry him with WARM-COOL air to start when he's completely soaked, then move to COOL air from a PTFE free (Teflon free) hair dryer ONLY to finish❗️
For those unaware, air from a hair dryer that is too warm or on the hot setting can severely dry out and/or burn the sensitive skin around the eyes, beak, and body of parrots. And can cause dry damage to their nasal cavities.
PTFE is short for polytetrafluoroethylene which is LETHAL to parrots.
It is the Same chemical compound found in Teflon nonstick pans that are used in some kitchens.
Teflon releases a toxic gas/fumes in the air that has caused so many deaths in parrots, it is an excruciatingly, horrendous, and painful death to birds and can be 100% avoided!!
This is why I stress to do your research when it comes to adopting.
There are so many things that parrots can and CANNOT have and things that can kill them horribly in seconds.
Please Educate yourself, and know the facts before you consider adopting parrots💗💜💙❤️💛💚

I cannot stress enough how heartbreaking this sad truth is.... Too many people impulse buy parrots because of cute or funny traits they'vet seen in other birds.
A life stuck in a cage is cruel and so unfair to these magnificent beautiful creatures.
They deserve the absolute best!
So if you are interested in a parrot, adopt one because you have the time and energy and if you want to save them from a life stuck behind bars, not solely because they are cute or funny etc.
parrots are a LIFETIME commitment. They can live up to 80+ years!!
I've given up many many things the to give my two parrots the best life they can possibly have!
Please do your research before adopting.
After all, we have our friends, our jobs, and our hobbies.

When you approached him with the towel, and he didnt back away, or when you started to gently wrapped him in it to dry him off, and he showed no fear. It was plain to see the absolute love, and complete trust you two have built together. Thankyou !

Gotcha The Cockatoo I would love to have one of these lovely creatures one day, but I'm already 54 and am afraid that it most probably will outlive me. I think they make excellent animal friends, but I imagine they are also quite messy.

It's good to see that their are people that actually know how to take care of their birds. I see so many people on UA-cam that don't at all.they put them in tiny cages with no toys and take videos of they bird cussing and they think it's so funny. Pisses me off.

AnOddFurry actually he's not a cockatiel the cockatoo's cousin whose head feathers are only on the males. Cockatoo's head feathers are on some females and males it really depends on the age of the cockatoo.

Gotcha The Cockatoo Only a year and a half, and still he is that trustworthy. Well, i guess you have spent a lot of time, still. I've heard they are difficult to train. I really want a bird too, but i refrain from it, because i know how much effort it would cost and i do not have the excess energy it would require at this time in my life.
And i would want a part outside and inside aviary for them. I would want nothing less.

I have a personal friend that spent 6 years trying to build a strong trusting bond with her rescue parrot. Just takes time and each bird is so different

I watch these vicariously. I would LOVE to get a cockatoo, but it's just not the right pet for me at this time. Maybe when I have more downtime in my older years, I will adopt one. You cannot get a bird like this and take it lightly, as she said in her description. When I worked at Petco, long ago when they could still sell big birds, the cockatoos and amazon's were always purchased for spoiled children and brought back 2 months later because the people that bought them had no idea the amount of work that came with them. Broke my heart to see a cockatoo I had named 'Baby Love' brought back a total of 4 times before he found his forever home with a little hippie gal (he was "my" bird at the store, always calmed down with me, loved me, hung out with me, etc.). She still has him to this day and he's spoiled rotten! But she would come in after and visit me with him until I moved away, and he was always so happy to see me. Good little birb.
I was pretty sad but watching this adorable little birb sit all cute and totally still for his bath just made me feel a lil better

everyone can see how absolutely devoted you are to your bird. I have had conures, ring necks, rosellas, cockatiels, and now have two baby budgie's. Birds are fabulous members of the family, as long as you put in the time,love and patience. you'll be rewarded with their love and affection, and there is no better feeling, than gaining trust from your bird, whatever the breed.

I had a beautiful Moluccan cockatoo called Mahalo. He was a rescue so I don't know exactly how old he was but he brought me 17 yrs of joy until his passing. A large part of my heart went with him. Gotcha makes me smile and cry, but thank you for sharing.
