❗️❗️❗️85% of parrots are either resold, given away, or abandoned within just 2 short years of being purchased. ADOPT DONT SHOP! Rescues are full of these wonderful birds, neglected, abandoned, and thrown out by inexperienced and most uneducated people that didn't know the kind of work and commitment it takes to have birds. STOP UNNECESSARY BIRD BREEDING FOR PROFIT, and help these magnificent creatures.
If you are unable to adopt then please consider donating to a rescue/sanctuary that volunteers their time to help these animals in need. 💚
I cannot stress enough how heartbreaking this sad truth is.... Too many people impulse buy parrots because of cute or funny traits they've seen in other birds. ❗️No two parrots are alike...
A life stuck in a cage is cruel and so unfair to these magnificent beautiful creatures.
They deserve the absolute best!
So if you are interested in a parrot, please research, volunteer at a parrot rescue/sanctuary, KNOW what you're getting yourself into before you take on the work that comes with loving and homing a parrot.
Parrots are a LIFETIME commitment. They can live up to 80+ years!!
I've given up many many things to give my two parrots the best life they can possibly have! (Night out, gone on weekends, vacation time, a clean quiet house, extra money.. Etc.)
But to me it's all worth it, my parrots are my family and I love them like my children!
Please DO YOUR RESEARCH before adopting.
After all, we have our friends, our jobs, and our hobbies...

He was in the park with bird Edward protecting their special rocks and water pool from bad birds and other things and got a challenge from a city bird to see who is the prettiest bird.

When he tells you I love you and I got you you can tell he understands those words are attached to feelings he says it to with such a sweet voice....

I don't think so. He is of the I Gotchu and I Love You flock. He is making sure that the rest of his I Gotchu flock is around him by making the flock call. Take a look at some wild cockatoo videos.The Lady taught him the flock calls.
AliM i totally agree with you. I've watched all of his video's and it seems he understands that these phrases mean something. Cockatoos are a very smart breed

That'd be nice, but I suspect it's more likely because of the way birds pick up mimicry of human language, and that's probably the way he heard "I love you" said. It's not like you hear people aggressively shout "I LOVE YOU" at their birds, haha.
Another example - when birds learn to say "peekaboo", they don't just say it flatly. They say it suspiciously like their human owners probably said it to them a thousand times, with the sing-song inflection.
I had once a friend with a parrot who knew what „I don’t like this“ meant. When my friend did something that would upset the bird, he would keep saying „I don’t like this“ over and over till he stopped

We need to collect these, and when Gotcha goes, we'll pay tribute to him by making a story based on all of these.
When writing the story make sure to note how intensely Gotcha talks about Bird Edward and saving the rocks and water! But then he's very sweet once his mama scritches his head feathers.

I'm a truck driver, I just came home, lare, fighting chicago traffic all day long.
So to hear Gotcha, saying nonsense, with your translation makes my day.
Once in a while, I watch him running up and down the hall yelling, and when you put the comb under the bathroom door, and he says it is Evil.

geoffrey walker they don’t know they are not speaking proper English and don’t know what their saying so they find the words u say and try and make it make sense ! It’s cakatoo ! I think what he was tryna say was I’m gonna protect u and scare off meanies or harmful things..
I had a budgie that learned to tell people to go away. He always used the phrase appropriately.
They first start saying it without knowing what they mean, then they’ll start understanding based on how you react
my roommate’s bird says “hi, bird!!!” when we walk into the room, and he also says “come heeere!” when we walk away from him! he also says “good biiiiird” when he feels he’s done something that deserves praise (note: he doesn’t deserve praise for half of these things 😂)
