The Emperor is probably around 6 feet tall. It's his glamour to depict himself as the primarch sized Emperor. He blended in over the centuries because he could fit in things like hallways, elevators, buses and cars. He rode on his beloved Bucephalus as Alexander the Great and named His Gloriana class ship after the horse. Horses sense things and 14 feet of transhuman would be a definite "nope' in its sensitive mind. You're not riding me buddy lol. He could be 6'2" being taller than Malcador and Erda. I would love it if Malcador was taller than Big E. It wouldn't matter because it's his power that has majesty and Malcador owned a mouthy Horus didn't he? Corax could partially see through the Emperor's glamour too and was more casual with him as having a common understanding as beings. The other Primarchs wanted an epic super daddy and drank a lot of kool-aid about the Imperial Truth.
The only problem with size changing is, how did they measure the pieces of the golden throne? Did he stick to in-dorn's-eyes size since the heresy so everything would fit?

@johnson7156 so bad writing then. A marine in terminator armor is already so much stronger then a marine in regular power armor that it takes a significant skill difference to overcome the advantage. If Ogrin can body a Marine in terminator armor like that, then they're blatantly more powerful then the average Astartes, at least in Melee. That's not " Slightly stronger, but speed and precision make up the gap." That's " An Orgin is better then a space marine, and only named characters will beat them 1v1." They should just replace Astartes at that point
I think a powerful psycher can alter his physical manifestation and hence change his height, that's why emperor can be anywhere from 11 to 40 ft tall and magnus can be big or smol, but it's just a theory
I think there might be a mention in some lore book that ferrus mannus is slightly taller than vulcan, but vulkan is the bulkiest and widest of the primarchs
To all of those saying the E is not that tall read the last Siege book, his size has been cleared up. He is freaking enormous and probably closer to 18 feet tall. When Malcador sees your exact hieght and comments how tall you are after just being with Vulcan it is very clear. He dumbed down his size for others. Lastly he could not dumb down his weight, read the Last Church.
makes sense that the emperor has the same ability as magnus since the primarchs all embodying aspects of the emperor with magnus being able to be as large or small as he wants to be growing as large as the biggest imperial titans or bigger if he wanted to only being limited by the amount of force the planet could sustain as his attacks at such a large size shook the earth and caused devastating earthquakes, it can be assumed that the emperor even if just a all powerful normal sized psyker coud still be able to grow to whatever height he wanted to or project that and cause psychic attacks to follow through with the size. Also feel like it was a miss to not include magnus at his tallest standing at a whopping 105 meters or 344 feet tall likely larger due to his large head and hair. Magnus is the strongest imo and hes also the strongest psyker so i think hed probably be the only one on par with the emperor on a 1v1 but idk if his ascent to demonprincehood caused him to get stronger in general or take away some of his abilities in exchange for others as i havent heard much or at all about magnus using his growing ability after the horus heresy
Yeah you need to check again. Alpharius and Omegon were described as not being much taller than a standard astartes. If that is the case then they fell between a firstborn and a primaris.

Tallest to shortest: all these primarchs just seem like they would be tall, and of course some are actually described as tall or even through pictures Vulkan Magnus Ferrus Manus Sanguinius (seems like he would be tall) Mortarion Lion Dorn Lorgar Emperor: his height was never really a standout thing. Mid: Horus Corax Kurze Perturabo Khan shortest: Guilliman Angron and Leman Russ ( i mean cmon, just seems like they would be) Fulgrim Alpharius and Omegon (described so)
For comparison lets take DARK SOULS 3 bosses primarchs would be as tall as champion gundyr /Vulkan would be as tall as dragon slayer armor/emperor would be size of nameless ling
Bit silly/pointless comparison. We know nothing about the avtheight of anything in dark souls. Sure those bosses look big but we don’t know that the player is a regular sized human. He could be 2 foot or 20 foot for all we know
The height of humans in 40k is so stupid and something I try not to think about. So did they make guilliman his own special toilet? Does he clean it? Is there a team of workmen who clean it with special warnings to not accidentally drown?
The Spess Marines have toilet things done by their armor while they are in it. And I think Gulliman is stuck in his to keep him alive. But otherwise yes they would build him a giant ornate toilet and probably found a dynastic hereditary order to clean up the poop stains and feel they were blessed by the Emperor while doing so. Modern presidents have their own toilet detail that follows them and collects their urine and feces to dispose of so other countries don't get it and analyze it. Ancient rulers had personal butt wipers and bath aides to wash their balls. A giant magic super-general who is literally the only thing keeping your civilization alive would well be worth making a super toilet and carry it around.
The hight of space marines always makes me laugh being big isn't a benefit in the Era of ranged weapons being 8ft tall just means it's much easier to be hit
Wouldn't the Fabricator-General of the high lords of terra be the biggest human in WH40k, Its said that his body resembles a building due to all of his extensive modifications.
Two points you got wrong. On Space Marines. Firstborn are 8 ft tall, on average. As mentioned in an old White Dwarf article from around the mid/late 1990s. And Primaris would thus be 9 ft tall, on average, if the minis are an indicator.
You can't. For all that muscle... The level of IQ drops. You know that the US military can't enlist a person with an IQ of less than 86? Well... All the Ogryns put together would TOTAL about 86... "Bright" is a word they heard one time... Can't spell it though. B-)
Aw man! I would love to have a 6ft/180cm human as comparison for the later ones. I'd like to see what a human would look like in front of the Emperor. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Would be an "eye to eye" size frame. Emperor was normal Human size and made his "sons" with the power of the chaos gods bigger stronger etc. Dont know why someone thinks he is over 2m
Its funny that if the ogrin where smarter its possible the emporer would not have need to make space marines from scratch, just augmenting the crap out of ogrins
If you had to get really weird about it and calculate average male human height across European Nations, you could add about 15cm in average height for every 150-200 years. By 40k you’d have some Salvador Dali Elephant looking dudes walking around.
If you go back in time to before the invention of agricultur humans were about as tall as now, this sugest that this is just how tall well fed humans grow.
Bro, you litteraly forgot the Thunder Warriors, which as much I know where bigger then Firstborn Astartes Space Marines and had a smal lifespan of 15 years, after becoming Thunder Warriors.
Its sometimes strange how the writers contradict each others. In some of the stories Mortarion is twice the hight of his astartes as they went barely over his belt line. In one of the phoenicians books he rested his arm on the shoulder of a dreadnought. I highly prefer this version where a primarch is over 5 meters tall because it gives them more of the demigod stature like in the movie gods of egypt. Astartes tower head and shoulder over an average human so that a common soldiers hair line is level with the lower edge of the pouldrons - and with Orks being as big if not bigger. Why the fuck do Orks now have red blood by the way?
Aren't Catachans supposed to be slightly lower height but more bulkier than average human? I remember that from novel Death World written by Steve Lyons.
Cool content but it does feel like the classic list cop out to have a bunch of the entries be the same height, also just having generic characters mixed in with named ones feels lazy too, space marines, primaris marines, there's plenty of named ones that I'm sure have character descriptions with heights

From the Novel Fulgrim: "Ferrus Manus, clad in his shimmering fuliginous armour, stood a head taller than his brothers [Corax & Vulkan]"
Well now he's cut it just the same height as them. 💀
@@JoseKobeC.Sanchez cold blooded
@@JoseKobeC.Sanchez 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yes the books are somewhat inconsistent. The Phoenix in one book was described as the same size as the Gorgon. But the Phoenix is far shorter than Horace. And an Old Earth and in some other books Vulkan is described as the largest without shapeshifting abilities like Magnus.
@@JoseKobeC.Sanchez😂😂😂 superb!
The Emperor has a normal human height, which has been mentioned many times in the books. Don't mislead people with outdated information
I always imagined the primarchs bigger, something like 5m, would be way cooler
They’ve already become almost comically large from scale creep over the years
Thanks for putting the sizes in meters
the emperor cant be measured due to the fact he changes his height all the time if he wants he can be as big as a sky scrapper
Would have loved to see them all side by side for comparison at the end... nice video though - thanks for making that.
The Emperor doesn't have a constant size, it's confirmed on the novel "Sigismund, the eternal crusader"
These are the guys that girls are trying to match with on tinder
great video bug, I won't knock you but just fyi it is made absolutely clear in the novels, without ambiguity, that emps is an average sized man, his appearance is solely a function of his overwhelming psyker powers, we know this from when null maidens look at him and see nothing but a man
I get that but what about like his armor and weapons? Was it an illusion or did he actually make himself bigger physically when we desired?
@@patrickdwyer320 oh I’m not sure. But I’m sure many people handled his armor and weapons over the years of the crusade and they used shards of the armor for the crux Teriminatis’s. So surely people would take note if it was not large. Also the sword he gave to guilliman was pretty big wasn’t it?
Either the Emperor was capable of true size alteration in addition to illusions, or the Sword of the Emperor isn't a weapon that he actually used. A sword sized for a 6 ft. Human would be silly In the hands of a 12 foot primarch, behold my glorious pocketknife!
wouldn't make sense considering the emperor's sword size. if it was for a 6 ft human then that would be like a kitchen knife for the Gman
@@jarubyjane
"Guilliman drew his father’s sword. Mathieu gasped, though he had seen the Sword of the Emperor drawn on several occasions. Every time, he bore witness to a miracle, for on leaving the scabbard, the blade burst into flame.
Guilliman did not begrudge the priest his awe. There was great warpcraft in the weapon. When the blade had been presented to Guilliman by the captain-general of the Adeptus Custodes after the Emperor’s fall, it had somehow fitted his primarch’s stature. Guilliman tried to remember how tall the Emperor was, but His living image refused to be caught and examined. In some memories, He was as tall as Guilliman; in others, no bigger than a mortal man."
- Dark Imperium
Now I can see how Alpha Omegon managed to disguise as Custodes.
He forgot the thunder warriors.
That makes me wonder, what are the size differences in their dumps? A toilet for a space marine most likely could serve as a bathtub for a ratling...
Every time you double length you cube the volume, sooo... a 12' human would shit 8x as much volume and weight
Since you mentioned Yarrick separately: what about Commissar Ciaphus Cain, who’s mentioned to be slightly above 2m tall
I was hoping you would do a pull back and show all the people in a row with their height comparisons.
i love that the tts vulkan is the one standing in line
This is a great video
i wouldve liked a zoomed out image of all 20 for comparison but still a good video
A human taller than 7 feet would die very young, that's the price of height
I love the fact that the most intimidating primarch is actually the nice one.
The other Primarchs wanted an epic super daddy and drank a lot of kool-aid about the Imperial Truth.
your thoughts are boring, and make zero sense emperor is peak of evolution of mankind so all aspects of him surpassing everything of other humans
@@silverbladeofnorth7345 The Emperor created commas and periods for a reason. 😂
The only problem with size changing is, how did they measure the pieces of the golden throne? Did he stick to in-dorn's-eyes size since the heresy so everything would fit?
Horses sense things, but we're talking about the most powerful human psyker to ever exist here. I think he could probably overcome a horse brain lol
Buccephalus was a unique specimen by the way, he was a 3 fingered horse (in real life), so i guess that maybe buccephalus were potenciated by psychical emperor powers.
Archmagos Cawl after seeing this vid: "Time to Suit up in my Warlord Titan Form!!!" He's basicly a brain in a jar and doesn't even know himself if it is his actual brain or a clone XD
You forgot Magnus the Red, who I’m pretty sure is taller than Vulcan
I was unaware that Ogrins had more sheer mass, and were taller then Astartes
They are slightly stronger too but lack speed, precision, and intellect to overcome an astartes.
I'd imagine even if they were biologically a little stronger, Power Armor would more then make up the difference. At best, maybe they beat an Unarmored, 1st generation, Non-Primaris space marine at arm wrestling. No way they outmuscle a marine in Mk 10 plate, let alone Terminator armor
@@agentchaos9332mm. In book orgryn has shown to be able to take a few Bolter round on hand and chest AND knock down a chaos terminator. Then The orgryn unload its weapon point blank on the chaos terminators head. In another instance an orgryn lift a chaos space marine up and rip him in half
@@agentchaos9332in lore orgryn are almost twice as heavy as space marine in terminator armor.
Nice video but would have appreciated it if you zoomed out for comparisons
You forgot Magnus the Red. It is stated that he is/was taller than even the Emperor.
Tbf Magnus uses biomancy, I can see Emps and Magnus doing dick measuring contests but with their height.
I think a powerful psycher can alter his physical manifestation and hence change his height, that's why emperor can be anywhere from 11 to 40 ft tall and magnus can be big or smol, but it's just a theory
Sorry Shaq. You're the only soldier we can supply to the Emperor right now. Please pack your bag.
I think there might be a mention in some lore book that ferrus mannus is slightly taller than vulcan, but vulkan is the bulkiest and widest of the primarchs
Isn't Emperor actually quite short but uses his psychic powers to make himself look taller?
Personally, I don't think that the God emperor is more than 6ft 5 as the 14ft is a projection
then how the hell can he fight against horus?
Would have loved it if you had zoomed out at the end to show the whole range.
Haegr the Mountain and Arjac Rockfist, both from the Space Wolves, are said to be as tall as their primarch Leman Russ
Yeah you need to check again. Alpharius and Omegon were described as not being much taller than a standard astartes. If that is the case then they fell between a firstborn and a primaris.
Hmm while their primarchs are "short" the alpha marines are said to all be really tall
I think I read somewhere roboute met pollux and was surprised he was looking at him at eye level. Something he hasn't done when addressing non-primarchs
primarch sizes just by impression and some faq.
Tallest to shortest:
all these primarchs just seem like they would be tall, and of course some are actually described as tall or even through pictures
Vulkan
Magnus
Ferrus Manus
Sanguinius (seems like he would be tall)
Mortarion
Lion
Dorn
Lorgar
Emperor: his height was never really a standout thing.
Mid:
Horus
Corax
Kurze
Perturabo
Khan
shortest:
Guilliman
Angron and Leman Russ ( i mean cmon, just seems like they would be)
Fulgrim
Alpharius and Omegon (described so)
It would be nice to hear about the void born who are adapted to zero gravity and supposedly tall and spindly.
For comparison lets take DARK SOULS 3 bosses primarchs would be as tall as champion gundyr /Vulkan would be as tall as dragon slayer armor/emperor would be size of nameless ling
Except Magnus , he can be as big as a titan if he wants
Bit silly/pointless comparison. We know nothing about the avtheight of anything in dark souls. Sure those bosses look big but we don’t know that the player is a regular sized human. He could be 2 foot or 20 foot for all we know

There’s also the fabricator general of mars Oud Oudia Raskian described as being as big as a hab block
the more Brutish* version of ecumene forerunner-focused individual units-like, basically.
Where are the thunder warriors
Idk
we all know Big E is only that big because he wears Sly Marbo's pjs.
The hight of space marines always makes me laugh being big isn't a benefit in the Era of ranged weapons being 8ft tall just means it's much easier to be hit
Totally true. But it is how we like it.. bigger the better.
The fact that Cawl, the guy that's pretty much just a brain in a robot suit, is still considered human.
Would've been nice to have a regular human for scale next to every model to get a better reference.
Wouldn't the Fabricator-General of the high lords of terra be the biggest human in WH40k, Its said that his body resembles a building due to all of his extensive modifications.
At what point do we stop even calling these Mechanicus "human"?
you vs the guy she tells you not to worry about
Ferrus Manus is depicted in the lore as being "a head taller" than Vulkan.
There are a lot more Squats in Votann than you gave them credit for.
Two points you got wrong.
On Space Marines.
Firstborn are 8 ft tall, on average. As mentioned in an old White Dwarf article from around the mid/late 1990s.
And Primaris would thus be 9 ft tall, on average, if the minis are an indicator.
This is all conjecture, complete head cannon in most of these cases.
Wait.. so what happens if you turn an Ogryn into a space marine...
Death
You can't.
For all that muscle... The level of IQ drops.
You know that the US military can't enlist a person with an IQ of less than 86?
Well... All the Ogryns put together would TOTAL about 86...
"Bright" is a word they heard one time... Can't spell it though. B-)
"Tard Marine"
6:20 “Crismon Fist” shows the Iron Fist.
You forgott Abadon who is discribed as one of the talest space marines and couldn't even fit in a normal terminator armour
@@xoxar1 Indeed it would've been hard for him to bend in in society as he's been around since before Christ.
I think that Ferrus Manus and not Vulkan was actually the tallest Primarch and behind Magnus who could alter his height psychically
ferrus manus was at least a head shorter than vulkan
Its funny that if the ogrin where smarter its possible the emporer would not have need to make space marines from scratch, just augmenting the crap out of ogrins
What about Magnus?
Misleading title but lovely video
Saying humans are up to 180 cm is a bit of a stretch considering its below average male height in several countries in northern Europe.
You missed Magnus, even without warp stuffs
I hope they add more vilians to Space Marine 2
Well Mortarion is mostly machine so his height could vary depending on his armor at the time
Vulkan being that big is a fan theory. In the HH series he isn't even the tallest primarch, let alone the one of the biggest.
Did you know Frank Horrigan in fallout 2 is 12 feet tall?
Aren't Catachans supposed to be slightly lower height but more bulkier than average human?
I remember that from novel Death World written by Steve Lyons.
Hm, no mention of the Longshanks (also known as Homo Sapien Elongatus)?
There is no more automatically subtitles in Catalan. But they were, what happened??
Emperor is shape shifter, he doesnt really have a fixed body size.
Thunder Warriors ??
Cool content but it does feel like the classic list cop out to have a bunch of the entries be the same height, also just having generic characters mixed in with named ones feels lazy too, space marines, primaris marines, there's plenty of named ones that I'm sure have character descriptions with heights
Came here from Neuro-sama video. Maybe WH40K humans worship the time god too?
