I used to be mad with Usopp, i mean even after the time skip they did gave him power ups and he had some good moments yet he still never did as much as i feel like he could but i think it will be worth it in the end.
When theyre on reverse mountain and go over their goals again usopp says he wants to be the bravest warrior of the sea. Now think about it, being brave is overcoming fear, if you have no fear you cant be brave, so for Usopp to finally show everyone hes THE BRAVEST means that he needs to have THE MOST fear, im calling it, the more usopp gets done dirty now the crazier his eventually moment of glory will be they're keeping him down on purpose!!

the only reason they changed robin’s skin tone is because toei didn’t know what color she looked like since there was no colored image of robin before they showed her in the anime so they just guessed and then post time skip, took that opportunity to change her back to oda’s original color for robin (imo oda shoulda just went with what the anime colored her as, so this is all oda’s fault😂)

On the Nami part
It’s clear that Oda just has a type
Franky is based on an action figure and essentially wants to be a human action figure. The strong right, nipple lights, etc I like his post ts design more because it fits what he wants his body to be better than his pre ts design. Although his pre ts design was still super action figure-y with the fridge in his stomach and all, idk the post ts franky design hits different for me, instantly made me like his character more.

2:21 Option c. Make really, really long openings and endings to fill out their weekly 25 minute time slot. Like 5 or 6 minutes each. It’s more skippable than filler episodes because it’s the same thing each time. If you decide you don’t like the songs you can easily skip to the episode and dip but if you do like it you can just vibe to the music for a few minutes before and after each episode.

1. I agree with Chopper becoming more and more of a mascot as time went on, and that being a bad change (to me at least). But I’m almost certain that Oda Sensei has said that he originally wanted to avoid making Chopper a mascot, but the Japanese VA’s adorable and excellent performance influenced his own perception of Chopper as he continued the manga. I can’t give a specific source for this, but I’ve heard it enough times from different people that I’m almost positive it’s not cap.
2. The Nami copies post time skip are excessive, but I think it’s important to remember that a decent number of girls matched with her design before the time skip as well. Vivi, Nojiko, Bellemere, Tashigi, the blonde girl from Skypiea (can’t remember her name), and Camie were all pretty darn similar to Nami in terms of figure, face shape, and eye shape before the time skip. That doesn’t excuse all the other Nami clones post-time skip, but I feel like it makes sense for other characters that were already similar to her to remain similar to her after the time skip.

main reason i dropped one piece was because of the pacing, started reading whats coming out and it seems good for the manga, but knowing the anime, it'll get stale so quickly for the people that only watch it.

I don't think I'll ever understand how one piece has so many fanboys. The only good thing about it is the story, and it's absolutely not worth warching 1000+ episodes. A 2 hour youtube video is more than enough.

I personally feel like the anime is straight shit, except that it is less shitty when watching it on a streaming service since one can just skip the boring sections of each episode. I stopped watching just after the Arlong Arc but I have watched the conclusion of Gear 5 and the first five episodes of Egghead and I have come to the conclusion that the show is good whenever the whole crew is together no matter if they are doing boring stuff since they all have good chemistry. The anime would be better if they did lose crew members through death from time to time but Oda/Toei are too scared
I only have 2 things that I don’t like about One Piece
1. Sometimes the fan-base makes some of the wildest takes I’ve ever heard (Zoro fans 🫵)
2. I think Oda should have killed off some characters like Bob Clay, Pell, Kinemon, etc.
I think that lack of Oda wanting to kill characters often messes up with the flow of the story

"read the manga" is usually a dismissal of people who prefer to watch the anime for any show, but I would say One Piece is the only show where it's basically a necessity. I got up to Whole Cake Island in the anime before finally switching to the manga and that's a gigantic amount of time wasted I'll never get back.
One Piece really suffers so much from being weekly. These days, seasonal animes often do a lot to improve the way the story is told. Sometimes the mangaka will even say that it's the better version of the story. One Piece is such a cash cow for Toei though, so they'll never switch it.
I think we're all excited to see what WIT does with The One Piece. I have full faith in them to do adapt it both faithfully & well. One Piece is such a massive beast, I hope they're able to keep the rights long enough to get through the whole story.
Just saying, Oda gotta give Usopp Greenbull's DF. That would go insane.

I was fortunate enough to not catch up until Roof Piece started, but one thing I noticed about Dressrosa was that current viewers at that time basically went through a month of needless filler just to see Luffy come back for Round 2 vs Doflamingo. That's crazy to me. No other significant fights, just fodder characters trying to fight Doflamingo for 10 minutes in 4 episodes.

TLDR: One Pace goated, Usopp as a favorite is wild buff the man, so long as Oda dont troll us the haki evolutions aint a big deal, Oda trolled us hard on Franky and Chopper. Robin could be more distinct. Nami is just Oda's ideal standard for feminine beauty, lol.
1. Probably going full seasonal is best or they just stop money grubbing and make 3 to 4 chapters a whole episode.
2. Damn having Usopp as a favorite character is crazy. Couldnt be me. Nah in all seriousness. Guy deserves to have his spotlight and upgrades as much as any strawhat. Maybe his time will come in Elbaph. Really more Strawhats on the team should use Haki. I can see Nami, Brook and maybe Franky passing but Usopp, Chopper and especially fucking Robin should at least have basic haki down. Robin would be a menace with armament with her devil fruit.
3. I dont think its a problem right now but I definitely get where you're coming from. Its good to have established rules and fundamentals in your power system. It is true that being too vague just lets you do whatever you want. Hunter X Hunter, Fullmetal Alchemist, Avatar and even One Piece with its Devil Fruits, are great power systems with established rules and such. Jojo is great as well with its stands beyond part 3 which was just Araki experimenting which is his whole writing style lol. The only thing vague regarding stands are the stats they show. For now I think Oda has been good on making the advanced levels of haki, not outside the realm of expectations.
4. Yeah I was not a fan of the same designs as well except for Robin which is minor in comparison to me with easy changes. Chopper is bastardized and flanderized. Oda really compromised himself just because he wanted Chopper to mesh more with Pikachu, The King of Mascot Characters.(same voice actress) I could forgive Chopper's design like I could tolerate Franky's, if he didnt fuck up his other forms. Chopper was enough before while still resembling a reindeer. Almost all his other forms had these cool wendigo looking vibes to it. They contrasted well with Chopper's normal form. Now they look just as cutesy or goofy. All the intimidation and mystique is gone.
Franky, you summed it up perfectly. One Piece Ace Ventura with a cool pompadour and Popeye arms. Guy looks like a toy now and not a cool one. The pomp rarely shows. Its not even that Franky's new design is terrible, its just objectively worse than the old one. I can see his new design being a transformation or something but not his regular design. It would be like if SSJ3 was not a transformation but Goku's new base design. It would be goofy.
With Robin, I definitely see your points, me personally I dont mind either skin tone though yes the tan made her stand out more. I think if the face didnt change too much, you changed the hair and kept some of her fashion from pre-timeskip, she'd stand out from Boa and others.
With Nami, I prefer her pre timeskip, I aint one to bitch about sex appeal or whatever, we all got our vices and shit, but i just feel her pre-timeskip design is better. New one just has Nami looking like a bimbo. Also yeah, sucks that Nami is the foundation for like 60-70% of prevalent female characters but hey her bodytype and appearance is for Oda's personal enjoyment.
Man made his waifu, married a cosplayer/play actress for Nami, its been set in stone ever since. The ideal female beauty is big titty, shirtless, hourglass, wide eyed ginger lady and every woman should aspire to her appearance.
I dont think as MANY female characters resemble Nami to such a degree but its definitely prevalent enough that its no joke.
1. One Piece can't go seasonal at this point because of timeslots on Japanese TV and how if they go seasonal, another company takes that timeslot and uses it to air their shows in the process which would cause Toei to lose most of their viewership that they can't get back.
2. Usopp will get HIS defining moment in Elbaf, I'm calling it here and I don't think its bad for all of the SHs to not have Haki bc they all have unique fighting styles that all cater to them.

4. I don't agree with the fact that chopper's design should get in the way of how he has performed post-TS. Chopper with the Blood Transfusion and defeating Dosun at FMI, Chopper helping the kids at PH, the Mirro-World stuff at WCI, and Wano with helping with the breakout at Udon Prison, holding back Queen, and curing the Ice Oni virus are all contributions he has made with ensuring the Straw Hats victory.
Also, character design isn't objective and people can like his post-TS design better than his pre-TS design and Nami's design shouldn't get in the way of her post-TS performances.
