Tatzelwurms are just fucking annoying and hard to combo. They even have an unexpected unblockable attack. At least on GMGOW. Doing the mist world on GMGOW was annoying as fuck. And the stupid witches teleport if you start a combo on them, and if your 2nd attack is a powerful one, they teleport away and get their stupid invincibility back before it hits. Continuing the combo on another enemy isnt always a good idea either since the witch will power up if you let it recover in GMGOW. The game itself (in the loading screen) acknowledges that witches are the enemies that you want to take out first and prioritize. Although I guess that's what I get for being so stubborn. I mean the only reason to do GMGOW is for a shield or because many UA-camrs played on GMGOW and it would be a bit humbling if I can't do the same.
@@justrandomstuff6828 Does baiting enemies and killing them one at a time count as cheese? I've been doing that and now that I think about it I kinda feel like a pussy.
I think that's what got many of us into it back in the day...how cinematic it was and the epicness and grand theatrical/cinematic way they were depicting mythology many are familiar with. The brutal, addicting gameplay was bonus.
@@lepmuhangpa They think 3 represented the entire trilogy, since Kratos was batshit crazy by that point. All while not understanding that it was the culmination of his character arc, since the first two games showed why he got so bad. They just listened to the Zero Punctuation reviews that completely missed how the whole series is a Greek tragedy and not just an excuse for mindless violence.
It is a shame that the classic God Of War games are brushed off as just mindless button mashing by the wider gaming community. I think the reason it is considered that way is because while it does incentivize using the more advanced techniques and moves, unlike Doom Eternal it doesn't force the player to play well and just allows players to button mash. This is the same reason that Titanfall 2 felt like CoD but with cool movement to Under The Mayo, when in reality if you actually get good at Titanfall 2 it plays nothing like CoD. It is unfortunate that these games won't get the recognition that they deserve.
Agreed. I honestly think community analysis is an important part of coming to love most games these days. I've been shown time and again that there are so many more angles to most games than there first appears, so hearing someone else's story and tips can make a game feel brand new all over again.
I think most of that mentality comes from also compering it to DMC games combat , where there is more creativity and depth and skill required ,so they call GOW a lite DMC or poor man's DMC and you mindlessly mash an win all the time .
@@fredy2041 Alright, that's not to say that all community analysis is perfect, but I've appreciated how some of it has impacted my perspective on a game. XD
@@fredy2041 He kinda explicitly states he isn't averse to it changing, just that the problem is a loss of depth. The loss of skill having a rewarding purpose. I agree, and I even enjoy the game. I know for a fact I'd enjoy it more if the game forced me to adapt my tools in interesting ways. I like the game, but I don't think he's wrong in saying it would benefit from a little more focus on rewarding skillful execution or risky strategy.

@@HiddenmistSwag I know this is a year old, but how is an npc telling you how to solve every puzzle a good thing. That breaks the whole point of a puzzle.
Imagine if DMC 5 ended up like GOW 2018. No jumping, no air juggling, no jump cancels, of course no style switching, just the emotional story of Vergil and little Nero. Edit: I like how a lot of people argue with sales numbers even knowing that DMC is a niche franchise with a somewhat small but dedicated audience.
Sounds like 10/10 Game of the Year, especially if Vergil was emotionally distant and had to face the biggest challenge of his life, understanding parenting 101.
This This logic is used by fans to defend this abomination. I have seen special people that claim REMOVAL of jumping makes a game better. Flat earthers and anti vaxxers actually have a point but this is meme worthy.
There's certainly no lack of violence, haha. While moments like beating Balder to a pulp are rare, I don't feel like the orange blood of the typical zombies is a negative. I mean Doom's Cacodemons have blue blood, and the classic Barons have green. As long as there's stuff coming out of enemies, I'm satisfied.
@@RacingSnails64 I don't know man we human beings often feel disgusted with real blood cuz it looks real and stuff but orange just looks like a literal orange
Edit: Now that time has passed (and in light of more people responding to this comment) I will make a few revisions to my original statement. I still feel like this video brings up some valid points related to the gameplay. If one compares it to the original GOW franchise, yes, the combat and movement is pretty terrible. However, I feel like this review does miss the point that GOW 2018 is *not* the same type of game as the originals. The developers tried to steer this game into more cinematic and story oriented gameplay which I think they did wonderfully on. I will now offer my personal analysis of this review: *No Jumping Section:* I feel like this point relies on the viewer ignoring the context of the game itself in favor of focusing solely on what came before. Platforming puzzles work well in the original games (Again, notice the hard emphasis on comparing to previous titles) because the gameplay was designed around the action platforming that already existed. Since the old GOWs were built on a base that emphasized the player's ability to move in different ways, platforming feels like a natural part of the experience. However, GOW 2018 is built on a base of storytelling and cinematic sequences. The general flow of the gameplay doesn't support platforming well because it would bog down the story heavy sequences GOW relies on to hook your attention. It would be a complete slog if the player was trying to pay attention to the rich storytelling only to have that immersion broken when they fail to jump a gap and fall to their death. It just isn't something that fits the mold GOW 2018 is trying to grow in. *Puzzle Section*: I do agree that the puzzles do get quite dull and I would have liked to see a greater variety throughout the game. Again, I must reiterate that this is mainly due to the game's decoupling from advanced platforming in favor of a more story rich environment. It's very natural that this game would be awkward for veterans to play because they're suddenly missing the old mechanics they're so used to playing with. This issue (along with others) will hopefully be improved upon in future games. *Combat Section*: I completely agree with this assessment of the combat. I myself did fall into the "hit it until it dies" combat loop which made combat rooms a bit of a slog. Enemy variety was also a huge problem (I believe Mayo touched on this in the first review he did) and I really hate the "Oh look, your next boss is another troll" too. Again, we'll see if the next game improves on this at all. Overall I think this review suffers because it relies too heavily on comparing GOW 2018 to the old franchise. If one assumes that the new game *absolutely must follow the original blueprint word for word*, then the new game will seem like trash. I think this is not a proper, objective, and unbiased way of analyzing any game. What GOW 2018 tries is a new formula that appeals to a wider audience and if this audience happens to be total newbies to gaming, I think that's fine. I myself enjoyed this game a lot despite having seen what other games have done better in regards to gameplay. I'm not sure who else will read this comment since this video is two years old but I hope it helps! *TL:DR*: The criticism of the game's combat is valid but most of the other points rely too heavily on comparing it with the old GOW games. Many of the game's issues involving platforming and combat looping are to be expected since the developers decided on such a drastic change to the game's focus. These things will hopefully be improved upon in later games.
Basically, people who think > people who ramble/rant. You're right, we really need more people like UnderTheMayo, especially in the "Game Journalists" compartment.
While i absolutely love that game, I definitely agree that the enemy variety is kinda bad, especially among the minibosses. You're a very good critic, keep up the great videos
The enemy variety was bad because Cory made the entire game on a very low budget, he said he wanted more bosses and minibosses. He also says the large trolls are not bosses, they are minibosses with the boss healthbar because the normal healthbar glitched out, as well as the fact that he gave them names so you'd learn the lore.
This channel has been really helpful for me. I am currently learning to make games and people like you giving feedback and their thoughts on popular games really gives me a different perspective that might be helpful for me while crafting my own game. I'm really looking forward to whatever you have next, Mayo!
Looooool, perfect, its true. All these people saying that the trilogy puzzles were never complex. Yeah of course, they were pretty tamedin comparison with other games, but they also were unique and clever. Using the enviroment on your favor, and mixing it with plataform and combat, like how the hell can someone say that they are the same type of puzzles as throw an axe to break some totems. Its ridiculous.
What pisses me off is this push for "moviefing" games. Everything is automatic, with close ups and seamless cutscene transitions and sections where control is yanked from you so as to force you into looking at the skybox. Which is funny considering how cinematic the old games are.
It's unfortunate but the industry prioritizes casual gamers, it's easier to say it's good when you are not paying attention to what you are consuming. Solid video as always.

16:35 I just wanna point out that this specific game design flaw is what breaks the final boss fight with Baldur. Baldur is a multi-phase boss fight instead of being just one phase like all the other bosses are. This game design flaw allows you to go into the next phase with low health, die immediately, and respawn with full HP back at the beginning of the new phase you just entered instead of at the beginning of phase 1. It's how I beat Baldur on Give me a Challenge and it made the entire fight very underwhelming and didn't felt earned. I hope this is something that is fixed in GoW Ragnarok *at the very least* because this is a game design sin, period.
As much as I love the 2018 GOW, your criticism about the jumping and platforming is spot on! I think the dumbed down platforming is meant to highlight the growing father-son bond but, whenever the two aren’t talking, it gets pretty boring. Backtracking really got old. I hope that the 2021 follow up changes this!

I don't think it was like that. The changes to combat were questionable but i don't think they were made in a way as some protest to wanting to make a movie instead. There is a shift in game studios where combat/gameplay is used as a narrative pusher. A lot of cover shooters do this. Uncharted 4/Last of Us wouldn't be as fun to experience if you didn't see what happened next in the story.

hey, i just wanted to point some stuff out as someone who recently replayed GOW4, now i dont want an argument and sorry if i come out as someone who does. i do believe the puzzles and exploring have been downgraded, and that not being able to jump has effected the combat poorly aswell. and i do agree that theres plenty of moves in both games that fit in the "practical benefit" section. i dont nessecaraly agree that theres no big picture benefit in GOW4 however. theres the obvius example of permafrost and what ever the blade upgrade is called (sorry i dont remember the name), which if you get hit instantly removes it. but theres also the depth of the enhancments. for example, for of them is "if kratos gets hit, theres a small perk chance of slowing down your enemys" or something like that. which, while also fits into the "practical benefit" section of being HUGE risk HUGE reward since you're required to get hit, i believe its also beneficial is ome ways to the "big picture benefit" in a situation of: "should i risk getting hit by this small unit that does low dmg to have a chance of slowing down time so that i can use my runin attack on this traveler (since he cant be staggered), or should i save my health incase ill need it since i dont believe i can beat this mini boss without it?". I may be wrong on this one, but i believe you get more xp for upgrades if you preform better. for example, i remember while playing threw the game first time around i only got around 50 to 125 xp per fight, but one the second one i got around 200 to 250 xp. now, that is an incredible small diffrence if it is and i think the reward gain on playing better should be increased in GOW ragnorok, its still there. on the smaller note, if you do better you get more lines between atreus and kratos. there are upgrades the gameplay (mostly the 3 terms youve menshioned) can be upgraded. and i believe its the jump botton. but i believe santa monica has, and let me qoute a youtuber that made a 3 hour review of the game: "struck gold, and if they dig a little bit further theyll hit platinum". appologies for using your time.
Usually the intention of having taking damage effects is to offset the negative consequences of being hit since being hit is almost always bad in any game. I highly doubt the developer was wanting you to strategically plan taking damage for a chance at slows when other things in the game slow. That's the only part where you're probably wrong.
The exp is probably based on how many enemies you kill, as I doubt you beat a battle died then got sent back to before the first fight to see if you got more, and I doubt you wrote down how much you got and then did multiple playthrough’s and compared.
@@AtelierGod i had clipped some of the fights since i thought they looked cool and noticed the change of XP. Didnt count the number of enemys sadly, might be the reason of the change
Accessibility has turned games, especially AAA ones, into automated story-driven experiences. I like a good story and all, but this just makes me sad. Gameplay is still what makes a game work. That's why it's called a game... for fuck's sakes!
Real question, how do you Express your opinion on the internet, that takes alot of confidence. It's just so cool, not being afraid of expressing yourself.
I can't speak for anyone else, but most of my life was spent studying my personal interests, and engaging in debates on controversial topics through my teens and 20's. And after 8 years of my channel being mostly Mortal Kombat focused, I decided to try some gaming opinion pieces. And it worked out. I also have a very long background in editing, recording, and presentation building. I was active in the arts and journalism when I was young, live performance of poetry. Theatre. I just kinda put all this stuff together into my personal style. Find your style, and you'll make it work. Though I may take 8 years lol.
if it helps, knowing that people will disagree with you at the end makes it much easier for me to say something on the internet. there will be a person out there who will disagree, and when it comes to discussing something on the internet, a person who tries to bash someone who they disagree with is not worth the attention, because nothing will come out of that exchange. be nice about it, be understanding about the people who have different opinions, and never get down to the level of name-calling. This video is an excellent example of that, mayo said time and time again that the game had good aspects, graphics, story, characters, and such. letting the other side know you understand them is going to make sure they are much likely to listen and respect you. one more thing, the purpose of an argument is not to be right, but to get it right. if there is one thing I see in the world that I hate, its how being wrong is considered a bad thing. being able to say "you know what, you're right" is not easy, but I personally want to get to that level. being wrong is not wrong, shaming the people who are wrong is wrong, and anyone who says condescending things about you not being right is one of the times I would say they're being objectively dumb, because being admitting that you're wrong means that you are looking to know and understand, and holding you back from doing that is something I would never understand myself
Here's the thing. Video games have the unique ability to tell stories in ways arguably better than movies ever could. Yet these PS4 exclusives are all the same Hollywood approach to their games that just makes them feel... dull. They sure look beautiful, but that's just it. Look at TLOU2.
Luckily , now that the next game is announced, the devs have hopefully tackled many of the issues you had. Especially if Atreus is playable. He's a lot younger and more agile than Kratos so it should be interesting.
Yea, not to mention there's DMCV, where the devs proved that you can retain a good story without sacrificing the gameplay. Not only that, DMCV basically refined it to the point it's basically one of the best Hack and Slash in its genre. Hopefully, GOW is able to provide some of its older gameplay roots.
@@leowei771 It IS the best Hack and Slash, speaking from a gameplay perspective. DMC3 still has the better delivered story imo but the DMCV is truly a PS2 title with a triple A budget.
Unfortunately there's a prevailing wind in gaming now to make games have the same public respect movies have, even though most modern movies are dumber than they ever have been before, but i digress. The problem is that at least in my opinion, games and movies are diametrically opposed mediums. One has the goal of being an interactive experience and one is a passive experience. I don't know why they're trying to blend the two? I would say its impossible. A game can have cinematic elements to great effect, but you can't make a game that's only cinematic elements at the complete cost of meaningful interaction. I mean i guess you can, but we get to the point where i ask why don't you just make an animated feature? I ask anyone that somehow likes david cage "games" as games (beyond two souls, heavy rain, Detroit become human) or telltale games. What is added to the experience by making you press a button to open a cabinet or progress dialogue, that would be lost if it was purely a movie? To me this is like writing a book, but folding all the pages into funny shapes forcing me to unfold them so i can get on with the story.
I think maybe part of it is the broadening of the appeal of gaming to people who didn't grow up playing video games. There's a lot of sensibilities that we've just grown accustomed to. It may very well be the case that someone who's never played a video game before feels the same level of challenge and interactivity playing Uncharted on easy difficulty as I do playing Starcraft II on brutal.
@@factspeaker8518 You are objectively wrong. MGS 1 has 3 hours of cutscenes. MGS 2 and 3 five hours. MGS 4 has EIGHT hours of cutscenes. It also doesn't even matter. This is one game series compared to a larger trend of many triple AAA games favoring style over substance. God of War, Last of Us, The order 1886, etc.
Honestly the biggest bummer for me was the lack of variety in enemies. Most of the enemies encountered in the game is a fire zombie, ice zombie or a poison zombie with knife, hammer and spellcaster variants. They seem varied enough at first, but very quickly get boring. In late game, the fire zombies get a little buff, but the buff is more irritating than interesting, and it doesn't really change the way I engage with them much. This is why I enjoyed fighting the dark elves more, they were way different from the other zombie variants and I had to actually start to change how I engage opponents and adapt to beat them. I want more enemy variety, more enemies that make me think instead of mashing buttons, rolling out and spamming runic attacks until they die. I want less trolls and ogres, more creative bosses like the Valkyries, Baldur and the dragon.
Mayo, if you read this, thank you. You convinced me to grab a ps3 emulator and try out the first three games. I'm having a lot of fun. I forgot what it's like to be challenged. I'm currently in the first game, almost reached Pandora's box. I'm gonna whoop Ares's ass soon.
It's simple. The entire gaming industry is dumbing down its games. It's a trend that exists all over various industries, cheapening products. We're moving towards a mass society full of mass produced products that are replaceable and without substance. Gaming is largely dead in terms of creativity.
But people will STILL say this isnt true. And thats when you understand that "people" are not "individuals". (check the men in black movie's scene on this)
If you think in a bigger picture, gaming industry do not want to challenge 'gamers' anymore making them think that everything is achievable as easy as auto-jumping in GOW 2018 and this is going to become very very common. On the other hand TicToc is making people extremely impatient. The dots start to connect , dont you think?
You know what annoyed me about the combat more than anything else? Atreus's arrows. It'd almost have the same impact as a passive damage buff. 90% of the time you're just pressing the button without thinking for the extra damage/stun.
God of War 2018 was my introduction to the series but after recently playing the trilogy I can never look at the new game the same way. I also agree with everything you’ve said in the video and you made some great points, here’s how I rank the games I’ve played so far 1. God of War III 2. God of War II 3. God of War (2005) 4. God of War (2018)
sorry dude but you dont get a say 20 years later after playing the originals. youd have to play them first and then tbe most recent one to have a proper opinion
Agree that the enemy variety is severely lacking, but still greatly enjoyed the game. I feel like people that played God of War for the adrenaline pumping combat might find themselves extremely limited with the tacked on RPG mechanics; just depends on what you're looking for in a game.
What I find rather annoying is that most modern gamers seem to be fine with an unnecessary RPG aspect that doesn't grant new tools that can further be used to optimize and further specialise in different playstyles with their respective challenges shifting with them. Dark souls is a game of this nature (though it could be argued about how the game favours ranged weapons over melee ones being a thing) , god of war shouldn't be like the boring and brainless RPGs where there is always a highly effective strategy that turned out to be painfully tedious and serves to only test one's patience, in essence this ends up a big waste of the player's time.
Carter Smith I didn’t really enjoy the rpg element but people treat it like it’s combat is shit and some are like oh yeah but like first god of war never was in my opinion as good as bayonetta or dmc combat wise so going to something new and it seems like people are angry that there is no jump button but I think while sure it made combat better in og if it was in this it would’ve just screwed everything first kratos is to muscular and serious so change his design for jump that camera would need to be moved back a good bit actually which would make the areas need to look very different maybe even go back to the old square arena style and every single boss would need to be changed with increased tracking which could just be annoying he treats this like it’s a style thing but it’s a very important part of the gameplay that there is no jump
I went into this video expecting to disagree with you, not because I like the new GoW, but simply because I assumed your expectations would be coming from an angle the devs weren't concerned with. But I really agree with everything you've said here, you make your point well and I think you're correct- particularly on how they've left it so the only part remaining that isn't for "Story" players is the combat, which is a shame.
I noticed a similar issue with Horizon Zero Dawn in regards to platforming. Fairly big open world but you can only climb very specific rocks and platforms but from then on it's just mash the direction button in any one direction and occasionally pressing the jump button. It feels so low effort compared to Assassin's Creed Origins and I used to take the downgraded parkour from ACO for granted.
I think with horizon zero dawn it’s acceptable, as there weren’t any other games in the franchise before it that established a plat forming system, and it is mainly meant to be a game that revolves around a kind of “hunting” style gameplay. To clarify, I mean that the game doesn’t have the same issues as GOW 2018, because it didn’t ‘retcon’ the plat forming.
At least in that game you can fall and die. Rock climbing in GOW today is just filler. Ragnarok was horrible with this. Non stop climbing without risk.
Totally agree with all of this. It feels to me like it was designed as a fancy walking simulator and they decided at the last minute to add in some combat. You just walk through empty areas listening to "story", until your reach an obvious clearing. In spawn dozens of the same damn enemies again and again, which you MUST kill to move on through another empty area and more "story". There seems to be no option to run away from fights or sneak your way past enemies - it's just "here's a room of baddies. Kill everyone to continue". To me this makes the world feel completely artificial and un-lived-in. Combat feels bloated and yet somehow insufficient at the same time, and I can't actually believe that they opted for that disgusting off-screen attack prompt system rather than just zooming the camera back during combat. Oh, and one other thing - if this is meant to be all mature and serious, why the hell is the blood orange?!

I think what kept me playing is that it utterly *nails* "unga bunga". It didn't feel extra rewarding to play with any kind of depth, but the animations, choreography, and sound design made every attack feel like I was swinging a building around. And while that is my favorite thing in a combat system...it's kinda the *only* thing in this combat system. I won't come to try a combat system that doesn't feel viscerally satisfying. But I also won't stick with one that doesn't make me adapt my tools, or even teach me how. That's why DOOM Eternal is a masterpiece to me. It teaches you how to become skilled, it rewards every ounce of that skill, and the combat feels like you got ripped from your gaming chair and plopped down straight into the Vietnam war.

Part 1 opened my eyes to why i didn't LOVE this game like i did with the original games. I liked 2018 when i played it, but that was it, it felt like a "prologue" of sorts too with all the story being more of a set-up than anything for the rest of the norse gods and beyond, best example of this being the realms being displayed on the teleporter but locked. So i didnt feel satisfied but had a good time so i just didnt know what i was missing cuz everyone around me was praising it as this marvelous acheivement and great evolution for the franchise. Then i got recommended part 1 for no reason i can think of really. Mayo's points were pretty spot on with what i missed about the old games, (even tho i wasnt that good at them i tried my best as a kid on normal and sometimes hard as i grew older). The puzzles, platforming, and sense of satisfaction from the combat being taken out are the reasons i dont love the new game and Mayo's video made me sure of those feelings.
Let's be honest. This game is the "The Last of Us: North Mythology Edition (featuring Kratos from God of War)" I loved the older games and played through them many times. Making my way from the lowest to the highest difficultys, as I got better. In GoW2018, once you know the story, there is no reason to ever play it again. They took the game out of Videogame and made it a boring interactive video. The combat of GoW 2018 was fun in the beginning but got boring fast. As soon as Kratos got his Blades back, things started to feel very wrong. The Blades of Chaos and there different incarnations, were perfect to control the Arena. The changed camera perspective and limited view, completely negates that advantage making them little more then fan service. (At least they got us a Variation on the "Spot point an throw weapon at it" puzzles by having to combine to points and adding a timer) Kratos moving outright slugisch at times does not help either. I know he is supposed to be older but come on. He uses trees like Baseball bats and can litterally flip entire rooms upside down. Not to mention move entire tempels without, as he puts it, "having trouble with his back".
The God of War franchise went from a video game series that epitomized interactivity and player reward to an interactive film with some gameplay. You summed it up perfectly.
@@garfieldlogan8682 I am aware that the series ended, yet the ending of God of War 3 made it seem like the franchise would continue. Additionally, the games had a characteristic design which should have been in God of War (the alleged reboot). If the studio behind the franchise wanted to give a new idea fruition then they should have done so rather than using an established character to guarantee consumers for their "reboot."
@@troubledcat I mean tbh Ascension pretty much was released after GoW3 and it wasn’t that popular compared to the previous titles, that’s when it was starting to go down the path of being washed up and thankfully Santa Monica quickly picked up on that and changed shit up with GoW4. Im seeing more people hyped for Ragnarök than they were for Ascension.
@@christopheryanez Ascension suffered from failing to provide variety when it came to gameplay in terms of weapons, as every other weapon in the game was the Blades of Chaos with a different skin and/or ability. An issue that was present in God of War 3. Ragnarok is only receiving hype because the game involves Kratos and acts as the end of the franchise's soft reboot. If those two were removed then the sequel to God of War 4 would hardly be hyped.
This is why FromSoftware is such a brilliant and cherished developer, because they don’t absolutely neuter their games for the sake of “accessibility” and mass appeal. They have great respect and trust in their fans that they can face the challenge and overcome it. A game without a fail state, that doesn’t allow you to miss jumps for example is just a qte interactive movie, without risk there is no reward. I don’t think I can go back to playing other games, i’m gonna be stuck playing Sekiro, Dark Souls and Elden Ring for eternity.
@@kellbagz563 That’s not true. Monster Hunter World is for people with obscene amounts of time on their hands. But Sekiro can be beaten in a day. I work a full time job dude and only play on weekends, so I don’t have a lot of time, it’s just what I like to play

@@kellbagz563 Yeah it’s not for everybody, most people don’t beat Sekiro. Their games are catered to a specific type of gamer, some people can’t get into it and there’s nothing wrong with that. I have very good reaction time and hand eye coordination, things like that make it easy for me to enjoy their games, but not everyone has it. But I too was a beginner once and it does take some time to develop the skills, but once you do then a lot of the bosses become relatively easy. In souls games there’s ways to kinda cheese your way through it, so you really don’t have to be a god gamer to beat it
@@kellbagz563 That’s not really true. I can only play about once every 2-3 weeks, and yet I’m still about at the end of Bloodborbe. The games are challenging, but still fair enough to be mainstream, and generally deaths are your own fault except in weird cases.
18:50 is a DIRECT response to what I've heard a few days ago on Reddit(though I can't find it) Someone said - "if there are skippable cutscenes, why can't games have skippable fights for people who just want the story ?" And now we have God of War 2018 for those people....
Im glad I found a video that gives a different perspective on this game, its like youre saying some of the stuff I thought when 2018 God of War came out. I played God of War 1 2 and 3 and Ascension when they came out and I agree those are better😔
You would love DMC. The game doesn't have a combo counter, it has a style meter- instead of rewarding you based on the number of individual hits, it rewards you for things like using a wide variety of attacks, hitting multiple foes with one attack, dodging properly, parrying properly, etc. This naturally encourages you to experiment and discover all the applications of your whole arsenal, because the higher your style rank, the more orbs enemies drop on death, and the more orbs you'll be rewarded with at the end of a mission. The combo also doesn't fully drop if you wait too long, your style rank just starts falling- which is good because it doesn't badly punish the player for backing off when there clearly isn't a safe opening to attack.
Yeah dmc 5 is so refreshing honestly. I was afraid that after the success of God of war 2018 they would dumb down the gameplay too and make the game boring, but nope. The Anime style ridiculousness of DMC is back and better than ever
@@SAMSARALIVEEEEEE And now special edition is announced, and Vergil's new battle theme slaps harder than a tank shell. There has never been a better time to be a DMC fan than now.
there is something different about gow and dmc. When gow 1 was coming u.had dmc3 which was already great. Gow qas giving u this attachment to character and his path of vengeance. Dmc3 and similars were giving u really heavy story about demons, religion and insane characters.... like lady shooting rocket at u abd u cutting it in 4 pieces.... @Michal Litecký I would not call god of war 4 a cinematic movie. Detroit become human is cinematic movie type game. If it was there would be no reason for me to pick it up I could just watch it on UA-cam.
I understand that God of War 2018 isn’t something that old GOW fans didn’t like. It was necessary to change because Sony Santa Monica were nearly shutdown after God of War Acession failure that almost completely robbed them. The God of War situation wasn’t like Devil May Cry. So this soft reboot was big risk and it was successful for Sony and SMM. But i know some old fans don’t like new direction which is understandable.
Oh my god an actual reasonable statement in this comment section? I might go into cardiac arrest. Imo I dislike the direction they went, but i can see why people like it.
They probably ran out of ideas in that style of games too i'm not too sure though, maybe they were bored and burnt out of it and wanted some new like 2018. Better create a new and good game then milk the old trilogy essentially, *cough cough* rockstar *cough cough*
There many things to appreciate about this game. This game (as well as Doom) is a pure representation on why sentiments such as "Gamer's don't like single player games anymore. They want more multiplayer live service games" needs to f*ck off. I will say that your case is rock solid. In the eyes of average gamer's especially those who haven't played the previous games. Its a great games. Probably because they were more or less were hungry for quality game at the time given how many trash tier games they were getting from greedy anti-consumer publisher like EA and Activision. But in the eyes of hardcore veterans especially those who did experienced the OG God of War see this God of War as a big downgrade compared to its predecessors. Gameplay speaking. And they would be right. Although i never played any of the God of War but from watching the gameplay i definitely can say that God of War 2018 is less awesome than its predecessors. (gameplay speaking) One thing that developers needs to understand is that God of War is not the Last of Us, its not Heavy Rain and its not Detroit Become Human. Honestly i do have worries about the following sequels of God of War 2018. I worry that they could end up screwing up big time the next time. I also worry that sequels could be canceled and i hate the stories that doesn't have proper conclusions. We have to hope for the best but you also should expect the worst. In fact, here is a quote from Kratos himself. "Keep your expectations low, boy, and you will never be disappointed." While it may not be the best quote but it tell that it would be wise to keep your expectations in check.
I tried playing this game, made it about 2 hours in before I had to put it down; It was extremely boring and if I had to climb one more fucking chain with an automatic animation I was going to flip the table. Mayo, you NEED to play the Devil May Cry series, those games are the father of the Hack 'n' Slash genre, and to this day still hold the gold standard for them. Onimusha is sort of the mother/proto hack 'n' slash that Hideki Kamiya based DMC off of due to a glitch he encountered playtesting, wanna know the glitch? JUGGLING.
I remember playing Gow1 and there was a specific room in the beginning of the game that spawned endless harpies until you figure out you have to plug up the holes to stop them from flooding the room while you make it across the fragile ceiling.... without telling you This is an extremely small but effective style of gameplay the first 3 games was filled with which made up a larger picture of unique gameplay that's very vacant in 2018 I love the 2018 game but it's not as great as any of the first 3 games That's how groundbreakingly amazing the first 3 games were in creativity and execution
@@LusciousTwinkle GoW2 is just easily over shadowed by the events of 1 and 3 but it's still very solid. They used alot of obscure Greek mythology though so it's like full of crazy stuff we never saw again. What didn't you like about it if I may ask ?

Love this, was born in 2003 and grew up with halo and the Nintendo stuff but never had a snes until the recent re release and played all the older harder games I had never realised how dumb down games had become until then I for one like a challenge and personally think it carrys immersion through difficulty
SOOOO dumbed down. Its very sick. It was like this in the 80s and we had a glorious backlash in the 90s...I dont think you GenZs are up for it though...
When you finished with the Grandpa example and started into the type of experience they wanted GoW 2018 to be I was like, “Oh! You mean like the modern game critic!”
The moment I realized the focus was on story was when I noticed there was no trophy for finishing the game in the hardest difficulty. Platinum was made easier to achieve so that even grandpa can feel rewarded.
As someone who has platinumed both the old games and the new game, fighting Sigrun on the easiest difficulty is harder than fighting any boss in the old games on the hardest difficulty. GoW was never a hard game series. It was always easy because it was geared towards people who wanted to feel like a god and steamroll everything. This game actually gives GMGOW mode for people who want a challenge, which is more than the previous games ever did for hardcore players.
@@RockyLXXXVIII But the game also gives a reason to not steamroll everything and play flashy and different. Doing that in very hard difficulty is a challenge. But i have to admit that the bosses have broken exploits that make gameplay very easy. I thought Ares and Zeus were super hard bosses from what I remembered but I've watched some videos and they're meh
@@RockyLXXXVIII that's amazing dude, my first playthrough of GOW2018 was in "give me GOW", when I realized there was no trophy I restarted in "give me a challenge." My biggest issue with GMGOW was incentive. After beating the game I wanted to complete it in GMGOW until I found out the only reward you get is skins for the shield the mode is extremely brutal and all the player gets is a couple skins for a shield, maybe it's enough for hardcore fans but they would still complete it even without the skins. The difference in rewards between highest and lowest difficulty is too slim, there's no reason not to take the path of least resistance within the game itself.
Ethan H “GoW was never a hard game series” I disagree with you, there’s a trophy on God of war 3 that’s given to you if you beat the game on the hardest difficulty, and i remember how hard that difficulty was, there’s a part where you’re locked behind a gate and you have to fight Cerberus and a few other creatures and that part was way harder than anything the new god of war throws at you in GMGOW in my opinion.
Somebody get this to Cory. I actually enjoyed myself the first time I played it on (GMGOW Immersive). But you have opened my eyes. I actually went back to GOW3 and realized how fun the combat was.
This game was such a travesty to me when I first played it in 2018. At first I was pretty optimistic and hopeful that they would make it great, and Norse mythology is one of my favorites in existence. However, aside from the story I really didn't like the rest of the game. The combat was far too clunky, the camera was annoying when being swarmed by enemies, the puzzles were a complete joke, and the walking...mother of god the walking segments. Please let this die in a fire come next gen. I've often seen people claim the reason they changed the gameplay was to show how much "calmer" Kratos had become after dealing with the Greek pantheon, but if you ask me the combat should have been more like Breath of the Wild or just Zelda in general. Also, and I know this is a controversial take, but please let players do what Kratos does in cutscenes. We see him jumping around, throwing boulders, and acting like the badass demigod he is, yet we can't do that in the actual game. Were they trying to ground Kratos? A freaking demigod? I get the devs wanted something new, but this game just wasn't it for me. Very lackluster gameplay, a bad camera, overly long walking segments, poor puzzles, and attack sponge enemies just killed it for me, and that's a shame coming from someone who's been a fan since the first. In fact, the first game was my very first M rated game I ever owned, bought by my dad when I turned 13. So it's pretty special in my book.
For me i would say that the combat can have a good flow to it but there many scenarios where it feels awkward like a small corridor with a lot of enemies or like you said not getting all the information in combat due to the camera.
I completely agree with all your valid points. I have completed all of GOW in a very hard mode and I definitely missed the combat, puzzled, platforming part from old GOW. But at the same time I wasn't emotionally attached to the old GOW compared to this. However, We have to also consider that Santa Monica rebooted the franchise which definitely requires a lot of effort and time. (Watch the documentary raising Kratos). We can understand what they faced during these rebooting of the franchise. They spent most of their time just building the foundation of the game. That is why they couldn't focus on the other areas. As foundation is done on this 2018 part, I am hoping that they will bring back everything by the time as they can spend more time on combat, puzzle and platforming. Thank you so much for the video.
What because a father has difficulty relating to his son? Because the sons mother presumably kept them distant? Thats not really feels. Its a minor happening. I CANNOT believe youve played all the old game "on hard setting...like that makes a difference) and seen ALLL the BS that Kratos goes through...and you relate to the piss weak watered down plot of the new game more??? WTF???
Gauss Cannon and Super Shotgun in DOOM 2016 are proof that people will naturally use the easiest and most effective combat options no matter how boring they get
The health and magic management system (in the older games) made a lot of my encounters tense and fun. Alongside with the addition of health/magic chests around the game, and only giving you one of said chest made it even better. If you managed your resources right and were good on health, then you'd have free magic recovery for the next section. If you played too rough and forgot to use your magic, or kept it strategically, then you'd have a free health recovery. It wasn't how it'd go most times tho, as combat would leave you half empty or barely filled in magic and health, so you either took the safe route of picking health, dodging and doing safe combos, or went ballsy and filled your magic bar in hope you could kill your enemies easily. ALSO, since killing enemies with the QTEs rewarded you health or magic, taking the dangerous route was viable. Being a glass cannon for the start of the fight until you get some health back was doable, potentially giving you more red orbs most of the times as well.
Thank you so much for making this video.. I never cared this aspect of Skills/Combo-Counter/Reward mechanism in original GOW games.. Now that you mentioned it so well, makes me wanna play the original games with new set of lens.. Although I love GOW 2018, I respect your opinions about it so much. And i Hope this aspect is addressed in GOW Ragnarok game. Great Insights and great video..
You’re a good critic I can trust. Honesty over greed. Look what happened to YongYea after fanboy appraising Cyberpunk 2077. He lied to us about the game being good and I no longer trust him
I came to get mad but I heard nothing I really disagreed with. You're argumentation style is very clear, concise and persuasive; and your points are made very clearly with the aid of your examples. Good work my guy
I was shocked when I learned that playing on harder difficulty and on the lowest difficulty gives the same amount of loot. So it really is just longer fights with bashing enemies over and over if you want a challenge
I don't mean to hate but I never see games that give you better loot just for playing on a higher difficulty. I mainly see games give out special items for completing the game on higher difficulties like this game does. Where are you getting your standards from?
@@youremother8354 well in a game like this I think there should be better loot for playing on the harder difficulties because at a certain point you're not getting hit anymore by any enemies so it's just boring to keep fighting enemies with huge health bars for no real reason.
To me they ruined the game, the originals were so fluid in terms of combat, the new game is so clunky, slow and not fun at all, the camera angles are shit where your own character blocks what's in front...
i think that God Of War (2005) have the best puzzle and challange. Like every time i wanted to play it again,it always pissed me off and frustated me especially at The Path of Hades lol
May God bless you for calling out these “stunning” new changes. It’s horrific. I’m 24, but I still miss the old style games where it was actually a video game and not a blockbuster movie
I think this is a very well-made video explaining your problems with the game clearly without belittling those who enjoyed it. Although I have disagreements with you, I completely understand your position and where you're coming from.
It's funny that early on hard difficulty many moves had to be unlocked, yet enemies can tank so much damage and you ended up using the same moves over and over again because you haven't unlocked anything yet. Later on, you have so many fun and exciting moves but you're so overpowered that you can just breeze through everything so they're already dead before you could do any combo.
Another issue is how many enemies seem to ignore your most damaging attacks such as the wulvers or an enemy that is one level above you, it makes you play tediously passive where your just waiting for them to stop attacking just so you don't get hit
When I heard the part about grandpa and being made for people that can barely hold a controller I was like ah yes the game journalists and suddenly the high reviews made sense
I liked GoW but you make good points specifically about how the game doesn't give you incentives to get better. The Valkyrie fights were the only really epic and scary moments in combat. Too many quick-time event cinematic for my taste. Gorgeous game, though. And I enjoyed the relationships and banter quite a bit. Exploring the world was a lot of fun. I do think a lot of it has to do with how accessible a game will be in order to sell more units. If a game gets a rep as a hard game, it'll sell less, and if you're sinking $100 million into something, that's a valid consideration. And it can be difficult to account for the development budget of features that most users will never use or see if they're locked behind higher difficulty. I also think grounding Kratos had to do with the tonal difference and the over the shoulder camera instead of the floating cam. If you make a decision at x-point then it has already made decisions for you pretty far downstream. I haven't played GoW in a while but I do remember not enjoying the camera much, I'd hate to try to wrangle it while also doing platforming and jumping. But again... focus, priority, budget, and deadlines. For me, the universally adored game that I just can't get into is Last of Us. Holy shit, the controls are crap and the story and setting and graphics are just so ugly. Blekh.
I know this vid is old, but you know whats the best comparison on this argument? DEVIL MAY CRY 5. DMC 5 didn't really change drastically like GoW did, but its core gameplay and visuals was only improved upon. Much flashier gameplay, better looking than what it once was and higher skill ceiling. What's the result? One of the best action games to date which is DMC 5, I still play it to this day, and DMC 5 is 2 years old. Couldn't agree more with your points, also if they really wanted to do a camera work that's 3rd person which is similar to shooters like RE:2 Remake, they could've made it so without dumbing down the gameplay. I do not understand nowadays why games always sacrifice gameplay for a more cinematic experience. It's not a movie, it's a game, and people enjoy immersive and a well thought-out gameplay loop.
To be fair DMC and GoW have completely different histories for doing what they did with their recent games: Yes DMC5 didnt change munch of the gameplay style and just improved what they did with DMC4 like mechanics and other things(they did more but trying to keep this short lol). Why though? Looking at DMC's history 2 was completely different from 1 and 3 was completely different from both which the end resulted into an amazing game/style. 4 made small changes and combat wise some would argue its better then 3 because they found the style for their series but as an overall game(level design, repeating enemies, rushed development, ect.) people would say it wasnt the best it could be as a follow up to 3. Then we have a HUGE gap till an actual proper sequel is approved. So as a developer it would make sense to keep things combat wise as close as possible with more and do a better job with the issues that were in 4. Essentially it made sense to keep things the same because 1. Can have a 2nd attempt of making the game they wanted without interference 2. The series didnt stagnant because there were only really 2 games people remember fondly over(combat wise/style) and it had a LONG gap since the last game was out so makes sense that people wanted more of 3 and 4. With the GOW series history; 1, CoO, 2, GoS, 3, and Ascension were all essentially VERY similar. Thats 6 games in the same style(w/ not that much of changing the formula) and with not that much time in between releases. By the time Ascension came out many people felt a little burnt out of the style and its possible the devs were too. Im not saying the end result of GoW 2018 is better then the old games or that its perfect or ect. Main point being, I would say the comparison of why GoW didnt just stick to the same formula like DMC did isnt really a fair one to make since they went through completely different histories of development, success, troubles, higher up medaling, ect. for why they made their choices to change their core style or not.
I definitely got bummed out when I realized Kratos could not jump. That was my favorite way to fight in the original trilogy. I would always find some way to fight in the air. I like RPGs. Something about meticulously choosing armor and weapons to have the perfect setup before combat is oddly satisfying to me. But even I have to admit that sometimes it crossed a line into frustration, since few enemies had many extreme weaknesses or strengths to justify me sitting there for 5 minutes picking out specific armor for them. After a while, I just learned to stick with armor that gave the most health and general damage reduction. I would much prefer a progression system that rewarded riskier play styles, rather than walking around trying to open hundreds of chests.
IKR? HOLD that triangle!! RPGs have their place but GOW was specifically a pared down game so you could concentrate on the combat. and if there is a gold ticket anyway, what the point. All those stats work better with ongoing online games imo.
@Lola Twinkle Also, it goes against the character design because the devs for the first GOW game realised that giving their protagonist more armour only robbed him of personality, so they stripped the armour off and the result? One of the most recognisable, unique, coolest, intense characters to ever grace video games. Even if people never played GOW, they will still recognise Kratos.
I definitely enjoyed playing the new God of War, and while I didn't have as much of a problem with certain parts that you expressed (wall climbing and magic recharging) I also haven't played the original games (which I intend to fix in the VERY near future.) It is annoying to me that there's no incentive to get better at the game, and it becomes trivialized near the end without intentionally making it harder on yourself. By attempting to play the game in a more fun way, you sabotage yourself without any form of reward aside from 'I played this fight good" or "That combo was really flashy" which is basically patting yourself on the back for playing in a less optimal way, as opposed to gaining actual rewards. Not to mention there being around only 6 types of enemy that you deal with in the exact same way.
What separates you from other reviewers is that you go very in depth with game mechanics. Probably the best at doing so. You fit a nice niche since most just address the story and overall whole presentation while lightly touching the mechanics
Talking about the combo bonus in the original games reminded me of the Hydra, the fight that started it all, and how I was able to get a 100+ combo while fighting the smaller heads.
Thanks for providing such great commentary on this game. I really enjoyed it when I played it two years ago, but watching from watching this video and taking the time to listen to what you have to say, you make a lot of good points. Here's hoping the next game improves on this formula. Keep up the great content!
Real gamers will likely agree with u. Game journalists...... not so much. Game journalists want the game to be as easy as possible becuz they hate they jobs....they dont really like games.they dont want to get good....or admit that they lack the skill to succeed at a game

They think 3 represented the entire trilogy, since Kratos was batshit crazy by that point.

I will now offer my personal analysis of this review:
*No Jumping Section:* I feel like this point relies on the viewer ignoring the context of the game itself in favor of focusing solely on what came before.

I hope this is something that is fixed in GoW Ragnarok *at the very least* because this is a game design sin, period.

hey, i just wanted to point some stuff out as someone who recently replayed GOW4, now i dont want an argument and sorry if i come out as someone who does.
i do believe the puzzles and exploring have been downgraded, and that not being able to jump has effected the combat poorly aswell.
and i do agree that theres plenty of moves in both games that fit in the "practical benefit" section.
i dont nessecaraly agree that theres no big picture benefit in GOW4 however. theres the obvius example of permafrost and what ever the blade upgrade is called (sorry i dont remember the name), which if you get hit instantly removes it. but theres also the depth of the enhancments. for example, for of them is "if kratos gets hit, theres a small perk chance of slowing down your enemys" or something like that. which, while also fits into the "practical benefit" section of being HUGE risk HUGE reward since you're required to get hit, i believe its also beneficial is ome ways to the "big picture benefit" in a situation of: "should i risk getting hit by this small unit that does low dmg to have a chance of slowing down time so that i can use my runin attack on this traveler (since he cant be staggered), or should i save my health incase ill need it since i dont believe i can beat this mini boss without it?".
Good takes all around, thank you for sharing.
I found most of the chance based perks to be not so good, since they are heavily reliant on RNG instead of your skill.
Didnt count the number of enemys sadly, might be the reason of the change

if it helps, knowing that people will disagree with you at the end makes it much easier for me to say something on the internet. there will be a person out there who will disagree, and when it comes to discussing something on the internet, a person who tries to bash someone who they disagree with is not worth the attention, because nothing will come out of that exchange. be nice about it, be understanding about the people who have different opinions, and never get down to the level of name-calling.

Its comes Uncharted series were they automate platforming while the characters have dialogue.
I think RE4 was the game that started it all with automated platforming. Kratos jumps over gaps in the exact same way as Leon did.
Did we play the same game? 😂😂 combat was everywhere, and there was never just empty places to walk, each area had things to do, boxes to get to
Its just trendy to say it's a bad game. Most these people are idiots who never played it

@@smarty1268 I get that. I was a huge fan of this one first time I played it too it has a bunch of fan service and I appreciated the story as a fan of the series.but I try and think if this game had no cut scenes would i really like this game?

Part 1 of this series was the reason I subbed to your channel, and I’m a big fan of GBG also. I just miss feeling like a ‘god’ when I play GOW2018. ✌️
This game is the "The Last of Us: North Mythology Edition (featuring Kratos from God of War)"
I loved the older games and played through them many times.
(At least they got us a Variation on the "Spot point an throw weapon at it" puzzles by having to combine to points and adding a timer)
Kratos moving outright slugisch at times does not help either. I know he is supposed to be older but come on. He uses trees like Baseball bats and can litterally flip entire rooms upside down.
Not to mention move entire tempels without, as he puts it, "having trouble with his back".
Jumping was so integral to the original games, that in MK9 Kratos actually had a slow motion jumping air combo.
The God of War franchise went from a video game series that epitomized interactivity and player reward to an interactive film with some gameplay.
You summed it up perfectly.
The series ended though. Did you really expect a new God of War after God of War 3? This is basically a reboot.
Bruh, now that's an exaggeration. It's not am interactive movie. Stupid
Who would win-
A furious god relentlessly obliterating countless opponents with intense combos

This is why FromSoftware is such a brilliant and cherished developer, because they don’t absolutely neuter their games for the sake of “accessibility” and mass appeal. They have great respect and trust in their fans that they can face the challenge and overcome it. A game without a fail state, that doesn’t allow you to miss jumps for example is just a qte interactive movie, without risk there is no reward.

(gameplay speaking)
One thing that developers needs to understand is that God of War is not the Last of Us, its not Heavy Rain and its not Detroit Become Human.
JUGGLING.

@@RockyLXXXVIII
But the game also gives a reason to not steamroll everything and play flashy and different.
Doing that in very hard difficulty is a challenge.
But i have to admit that the bosses have broken exploits that make gameplay very easy.

My eyes almost rolled out of my head as soon as brought up doom eternal, but still I saw it coming lol
Somebody get this to Cory. I actually enjoyed myself the first time I played it on (GMGOW Immersive). But you have opened my eyes. I actually went back to GOW3 and realized how fun the combat was.
Wait really ?
When I first saw that the combat was going to be over-the-shoulder, I thought they'd take some inspiration from God Hand. That would have been nice.
It's made more important by the fact that chests give less orbs on higher difficulties, so there is even greater incentive to play smart.
Off topic, but from which manga is your profile picture from?
Blekh.
I know games need to evolve but what's wrong with making a classic GOW game ? BTW your first video on GOW was great bro. Keep it up.
Indeed they had the chance to improve but they chose to go different way unfortunately
God of War 4 changed to a character focused piece with slower combat to more thoughtful Kratos.
To be fair DMC and GoW have completely different histories for doing what they did with their recent games:
Yes DMC5 didnt change munch of the gameplay style and just improved what they did with DMC4 like mechanics and other things(they did more but trying to keep this short lol).
I am starting to hate all the "murderdad" games
I really like how concise and well thought out your script is, it's very compelling and fun to listen to.
Good for you then..
What separates you from other reviewers is that you go very in depth with game mechanics. Probably the best at doing so. You fit a nice niche since most just address the story and overall whole presentation while lightly touching the mechanics
Man this video was very professionaly done. Just watched the Part 1 and commented on it. This Part was needed for extra explanation.
"I don't hate it because it changed"
Also: Hates it because it changed
These are all valid points and I agree with you 100%
Also in all gow games previous to 2018. Depending on how you killed certain enemies you got health, magic, or exp orbs also.
Certain bosses will drop a couple of health, magic and red orbs when you
stagger them in the original gow games.
@@arjuna6224 um is this meant to be a disagreement or an addition to what I said?
Talking about the combo bonus in the original games reminded me of the Hydra, the fight that started it all, and how I was able to get a 100+ combo while fighting the smaller heads.

I respect your opinion and I understand your point of view. I still like the game
And good day to you too!
@@HK-07 the things that i was the most agree with him was the fact in the new GoW the combat isn't really rewarding in how well you play
@@hypernel1798 uuuh yes it is????????????????????
@@datboy038 how?
Great video you really understand game design and you put all my thoughts into words I feel like most GOW 2018 fans didn't even play the trilogy
Game journalists want the game to be as easy as possible becuz they hate they jobs....they dont really like games.they dont want to get good....or admit that they lack the skill to succeed at a game
game journalist are ruining the industry. proof of that are the game awards
Why is every Fromsoft game sitting around a 90 on Metacritic then?
Completely agree. The GoW games use to be my favorite games of all time until this latest one. I don’t know why they changed what worked so well. I bought a PS4 for it and I’m completely disappointed. I hope they go back to the type of game GoW is leave this version behind.
