Number one video about this. Thank you.
Exactly what I was thinking by using the anchor guide but rope will be a little more loose. Right on point. Simplicity
Love love this. Will absolutely try it.
Great job brother
Thank you! Couldn't bring myself to buy a pole for $70 off Amazon or Cabela's, glad I didn't!
wow great idea
did i miss the part where you show what kind of pole you bought?
very helpful video, it would've been more helpful if you had every item of material with the links to the materials that were used
Most of it is straight from Homedepot. Garden stake and some pVC pieces I literally walked around building it in the store. 😀
What size drill bit did you use?
Great video! Definitely a lot cheaper than the brand name versions. You think this would be sturdy enough for a 12 foot jon boat?
Yes. As long as your not in heavy current.
These are hollow stakes. They break in the current. Only good for still water.
How has it held up? I am looking to make one. Thank you
Still going strong, I made two when I made these. Both are still being used.
Awesome glad to hear that. Did they get rusty?
No. Only part that might is the Loop but I use Stainless steel, so that helps.
I was looking for that rod at hone depot but dont know what the name of it is.
8 foot garden stake. Outside garden usually right when you go outside. They use them to hold up plants
@@greatamericansurvival I searched them up on home depot site. I found them. Going for them tomorrow!. Thanks man. FISH ON!
Where or how are u storing these on your kayak? My paddle holders appear to be too big
Mine are the bungee style paddle holders they work great for that and as rod holders
Are these fiberglass or metal with coating?
I’ve seen both styles but the ones I get at homedepot are metal dipped in plastic with a plastic cap at each end.
Cool idea, but if you’re going in the salt STAY AWAY. The interior is made of metal, will corrode, and break eventually. Just a matter of time, and leads to a potentially dangerous situation.
Find a fiberglass pole instead.
Tried this and the pole broke the first time out. It's simply not strong enough.
Sorry to hear that, I’ve had one of mine for 6-7 years. Are you using it on moving water? I use mine on the Chattahoochee river here in Georgia.
Will these poles float?
Honestly it depends on the hardware you use. You can always cut a piece of pool noodle and slide it on.
Ima try that I'm sick of the anchor lol
I also use a drag chain, but I fish a lot of moving water rivers..
@@greatamericansurvival do you have a quick release on your drag chain?
