When these Liverpool fans compare that cross spamming merchant TAA to Beckham, u know they were crying during Becks glory days. Beckhams crosses were sooo accurate, TAA literally dashes out 50 crosses a game and closes his eyes, hoping it hits it target
It's crazy to think that the standard of these two sides since the late 90's is better than the level they are at now, considering this is nearly 25 years ago. Both united and Arsenal from this era would still be good enough to compete for the title now.
Newcastle fan here, there's a some bona fida legends in this game.. I loved seeing overmars in full flight and Bergkamp is in the top 3 strikers ever.. to name but 2
Scholes had a nightmare in this game, can see why Ferguson took him off, Arsenal did have a superb pressing game at that time. Becks was superb in 2nd half & Keane showing great finishing composure, not just a leader but a good footballer too
Keane mentioned this game when queried about his best game ever. Nick Culkin :) How bizarre that his entire Man United first team Career was one kick out.
Roy Keane!! What a skipper he was...! Definitely there are very few teams in football history who could claim to have a captain being as good or better than Keane (I mean not as a player but as a captain, with his capability of pulling the entire team to victory, and making every player give his 110%...then of course, he was a super strong player as well). In the latest years my mind goes to Baresi, and I think Simeone could have been a top captain of Inter, but they decided to give the armband to Ronaldo instead.... Also Tony Adams was a great captain. Still among all of them, to me Keane is The Captain..
Everyone knows the football and entertainment at this time is far superior to now but so is the commentary. Well timed energy, genuinely engaging statistics on the players and an all-round upgrade on today’s “fantastic, by (insert player)!”
Seems like players actually fought a bit back then. And then some player discovered that if you fell down and over-dramatized your pain, your opponent could get a red card. And thus, was born, the diving/writhing in pain culture.
There is so much to take away from this one game. Keane, a guy who usually reacts emotionally to adversity for some reason chose (uncharacteristically) to not respond to Vieira's antics on this particular occasion and look what happened. Keane got the last laugh, he kept his cool and got his revenge by scoring the last minute winner. It just goes to show what can happen if you just keep cool and be a better person. Vieira on the other hand...How did this guy avoided being sent off, I will never know. He headbutted TWO people in the same match and somehow didn't even get a yellow card. Lightly headbutted Keane, then grabbed/shoved Jaap Stam and followed that with a headbutt which led to Stam grabbing him by the throat. Stam a guy known for being quite a chill dude. Vieira should have been sent off and that clusterfuck right at the end with the Arsenal players literally kicking the goalkeeper in the face when the ball was clearly in both his hands. Granted, it was almost certainly out of pure desperation but still, if you have to resort to kicking someone in the face to score a goal, what does that say about your team? Still a great game, though and yeah, it is nice to see real football again, with real men and not this watered down, PG shit we get now. These were the magic golden years.

@@davetherave3511 the key there was keane, keane was the crucial element, but beckham was definitely more important than giggs, he added a level of creativity, crossing, assists and goals that giggs never did, but also he was a hard worker
people like you is why I made my initial comment, and obviously I was vindicated, I do wonder if you watched united at all
When these Liverpool fans compare that cross spamming merchant TAA to Beckham, u know they were crying during Becks glory days. Beckhams crosses were sooo accurate, TAA literally dashes out 50 crosses a game and closes his eyes, hoping it hits it target
Kanu was most talented player
Inter benched him
He wasn't bench player
EVERYBODY stopped Staam not Vieira 😂 Jaap was an absolute UNIT
To anyone who ever doubted or doubts how good keane really was, games like this are a perfect example.
Culkin the only man with 100 % goalkeeping record in the premier league......
I never realised how good Kanu was for Arsenal until I started watching these old games.
Great nostalgia here. I'd forgotten what an underrated commentator Alan Parry is.
Poor Culkin. Only saw 5 seconds of gameplay at the end. Ever. Lol!
Mark Arcee my uncle just
Still, give credit where it's due: he kept a 100% clean sheet record. And you can't argue with that!
I was just looking at that, that was it for him lol
He was our answer to Chris Pile......
It's crazy to think that the standard of these two sides since the late 90's is better than the level they are at now, considering this is nearly 25 years ago. Both united and Arsenal from this era would still be good enough to compete for the title now.
Keane 1999 in his absolute prime
Newcastle fan here, there's a some bona fida legends in this game.. I loved seeing overmars in full flight and Bergkamp is in the top 3 strikers ever.. to name but 2
This is how real man should play football... Players like Sterling and Salah won't survive a single season in this version of EPL...
Beckham makes it look effortless, absolute class
I would any day have giggs ahead of beckham.
Most fans would
men playing football. now days its a shadow touch his on the floor like a snail.
Keane dived to win a penalty against West Ham 7-1.....no player has never cheated.
I love old Highbury fields
It was sir Alex n this group of players that made Man Utd the best club in the world ....my favourite childhood team ...
The class of '92 plus a few newcomers, unforgettable.
Man's age. Stam is man. Kean is clever. Vieira is huge. That is legendary tough game.
now that's football even the ref played his part well
Scholes had a nightmare in this game, can see why Ferguson took him off, Arsenal did have a superb pressing game at that time. Becks was superb in 2nd half & Keane showing great finishing composure, not just a leader but a good footballer too
Kanu was a magician. His control, grace and strength is unmatched - one of the underrated stars
you spelt keano wrong ;-)
Reminds me of how Ighalo played vs City
@@jenga111 nah you're just mistaken
@shubhangdkulkarni kanu was part of that great Ajax 95 team so it's no surprise how good he is here.
18:45 fighting time.
Keane mentioned this game when queried about his best game ever. Nick Culkin :) How bizarre that his entire Man United first team Career was one kick out.
Good old Nicky Culkin. Record Breaking sub and a 100% Premier League win record in a United shirt!
Legend!!!
Please take time to appreciate the premier league at its best. Look at the quality in the 22 men on that pitch!
One of the two greatest managers in English football ❤️
What a game!
I'm watching it with no volume at half 2 in the morning... and still... WHAT A GAME!!!
Overmars, Bergkamp, Vieira, Ljungberg, Seaman, Suker, Henry...
One of the best Arsenal squads to not win anything :(
Shows that Wenger was always a bang average manager. We should've, at least, won the FA Cup that season.
come on guys arsenal were a force around this time
@@redflag8970 exactly
HighburyAFCSoul You have no idea what you’re talking about
They did win 1997/1998 season
Everyone knows the football and entertainment at this time is far superior to now but so is the commentary.
Well timed energy, genuinely engaging statistics on the players and an all-round upgrade on today’s “fantastic, by (insert player)!”
Laughs in Peter Drury
Honestly i miss these moments; I wish this rivarly to come back
Nick Culkin the only goalkeeper that Arsenal could not score against🤣🤣
I love Manchester United from Indonesia
This era these teams that was when footy couldve been on PPV it was that good
Good old days ! I was 10 religiously watching with my old man !
This was a real excitement football match with full of thrills.Arsenal had an upper hand, but lucky was not on their side. But all in all,Big up MAN U.
Quality football. Better athlete's now but this pace is so good.
I remember that Man Utd away shirt. It looked really good, it was just made of an odd fabric and felt strange when you touched it
i had it. a poxy sort of terry cloth affair
Like a rugby shirt
Viera playing that high ball leading to Keane scoring the second goal is poetic justice.
It was a real football. Game of the men!
Kanu's passes were out of this world
Seems like players actually fought a bit back then. And then some player discovered that if you fell down and over-dramatized your pain, your opponent could get a red card. And thus, was born, the diving/writhing in pain culture.
Listen to that crowd! What an atmosphere.
Dennis Bergkamp what a player he was
Was out for the game in the pub. Teally enjoying it from..a man utd fan forty years
Too many legends in one video 🙏🙏
Herning Berg and Jaap Stam were immovable objects at the back
There is so much to take away from this one game.
I remember this I just started high school and I wish I could live them days again 😭 best football ever the late 90s and early 2000s The invincibles
Lost in Europe so not invincible whatsoever
