Yeah, Yorke was the far better of the 2, though. Especially in the 2nd leg of this tie. I never realised before. Yorke was absolute class that season. 29 goals 19 assists!
@@DirtyJamesUK That's just so far from the truth. Yorke was amazing but Cole was better. 121 goals in 275 games and no penalties. He was also insanely well positioned and did not get off-sides. Yorke had 65 goals in 152 games which was also great. Both extremely talented but Cole is the fourth highest goalscorer in the history of the PL !
People may not remember, but from '96 to '00 Juve were THE team to beat. Even in '99 United and Bayern were probably tied for 2nd best in Europe, and Juve were 1st. Makes this win for United that much more significant.

Both the current Madrid and Dortmund are nowt special. Madrid got battered for 75% of the city game. But were clinical at the right moments

People inevitably go on abpit liverpools 2005 win but this must be the best ever comeback by an english team in europe. 2 nil down away from home and winning 3 2 by completely outplaying Juventus on their own ground. Ive never seen anything like it before or since. Extraordinary.
I watched this live in the pub and after Juve scored their second, said, “If it’s any consolation, there’s 80 minutes left!” Never envisaged we’d actually pull off the win. What’s more surprising is that we won the final without the great Paul Scholes and Roy Keane in midfield! Shows the depth of talent we had then. 😊
I was 15 but could remember every minute of this game. I was so scared to go to school the next day if United lose because of the backlash I will face from my school mates. I woke up 3 hours early the next day after United won just being excited to go to school.

I feared for the worst but my team responded very well . Still one of my best memorable matches . And man u everywhere:) I cried when they left Mya barca in group stage, then I was on inters side becouae of r9 and baggio, still manutd won. Then I was on juve because of barca and inter. Even here Zidane shined. My favorite ever player. At that moment I supported Man U until I discovered Zidane. This game has been the greatest Man U game in their history.
I watched this game while doing an exhibition with work the venue was inside the main stand at Aintree racecourse , small screens were scattered around the room which normally would be for the horse racing however someone had asked for the game to be on !! The atmosphere was superb and quite a lot of Reds and some Everton lads loved the game obviously the Liverpool fans didn't, a very surreal night and massively memorable as a lifelong Red. 👹

I think, teams in seria a and laliga where stronger back then. Just look at Milan and juve etc from this era, far better than the elite teams now. Don't get me wrong, i think city would have competed, but not dominate teams like they do now. That's why utds treble i hold in a higher regard than citys.

C'ero anch'io nella curva sud della juve. Fu la prima volta che vidi il mu più forte della juve, fino a quella partita eravamo sempre stati noi i più forti. Come ricorda Fergyson, la juve di quegli anni fu uno spunto e un pesante banco di apprendimento per il suo MU, e quella sera constatai che erano davvero arrivati al nostro livello. E dal campo questa sensazione si oercepiva chiaramente anche quando eravamo in vantaggio 2-0, si vedeva che lo united quella sera era più forte. Era comunque una juve che, nonostante fosse fortissima sulla carta, secondo me mancava in qualcosa... non era più il rullo compressore che era la squadra di Lippi. Infatti perdemmo anche lo scudetto sia quell'anno che l'anno successivo. La magia della squadra imbattibile di Lippi stava finendo inesorabilmente e non ho mai più visto una Juventus forte come quella delle 3 finali consecutive. Comunque fu una bellissima partita anche se molto amara, seppure meritata come sconfitta.

That bloke built that football team the way he really wanted, he did it time and again. You wont see another club run like this again. It was the old way, and Ferguson perfected it.
