I'm struggling to choose a winner!
Then there was this test, GoPro Hero 12 vs Dji Action 2. The GoPro Hero 12 is the latest action camera on the market. It has had a mixed reception, I like it. Not always, but often. Dji Action 2 is one of the cameras I use often. The reason is simple, it is small, produce good videos. And is incredibly easy to use. The magnetic system is absolutely fantastic.
The GoPro Hero 12 clearly has its advantages. Higher resolution, slightly better stabilization. And some other things that are not that important to me. Yes, possibly the most important. It is a real action camera, the whole camera is waterproof. It's not the Dji Action 2, just the camera module. Then you don't have an sd card, only internal memory. It's a bit weird that they didn't make the whole Action 2 waterproof.
But Dji Action 2 produces much better natural colors. GoPro misses a bit here. For me, the differences are so small that I would call this a draw.

This issue with stabilising with the A2 I could see even worse with videos from my first phone that owns a decent camera, a Samsung S23 plus, which has optical stabilisation.
But, with walking this isn't sufficiant and it obviously uses the same technique additionally, yet because of a smaller sensor, less light-sensitive, with expected results.
Fact is, the phone cannot replace my beloved A2, which I hoped it would, and I don't see any reason to buy anything newer, like a A4.
It's tough to resist, though you can learn that skill 😄
Hi Thomas 😀, so glad to see a comment from you again 👍. The A2 is so good and I can't see the hero 12 being better. I can't see any reason for upgrading to the newest cameras like the action 4 or hero 12. But I think action 4 is the best camera out now for action. Have a wonderful day my friend 😀
Action 2 definitely struggles in low light especially with stabilization on. Some say up the frame rate to 60fps, and it helps. I use the steady stab on the A2 because it crops in a bit which I feel is a good vlogging look and helps with the fish eye look. I can say even though it only has 22gb storage in the camera module, it has saved me a few times when I forgot to insert my SD card after I was finished downloading on my tablet. Great comparison, and the A2 really held its own. It is my go-to camera right now. The form factor works great forbrun and gun vlogs. I'm not sure I will upgrade to the A4 yet.
Yeah it do struggle, but in this video I think the Action 2 actually looks better then GoPro Hero 12 and thats weird. Its a awesome camera and I love it. Thanks for watching 😀
Gotta say - I like the Action 2 imagery considerably more - I think it's very likely my GoPro 10 will be my last product from that stable

The action 2 is doing remarkably well, but I am viewing this on a smartphone. The GoPro looks a little bit better stabilising in low light.

Just bought a used action 2 at Amazon for $178 dollar and so far I like it. Easy to use, compact and record at 4k. I've compared it with my Gopro10, insta360 go2, so far action 2 beats them all

@EspenJohan already do! My insta360 go3 just arrived today. I'll have to compare. My last 4 vids were filmed with action 2 and I can see a big difference
Action 2 brand new it's now only $180 for single screen
Overall the gopro looks darker and the dji action looks a lot brighter than the gopro 12 and i don't like the picture quality on the 12 sadly but its still an ok camera.
I would personally say that the dji 2 wins.
Just bought as dji 2 the other day and i love it but one thing im still getting used to is the form factor.

Action 2 is brighter wider more realistic than go pro 12

Action 1 has image correction not to make all round image I think same at action 2
