Nice first testing! I can't stop wondering if you happened to touch the lens of your GP12 somewhere during the review. It might also somehing else, but to me the lens seems not to be perfectly clean. When filming against the light the contrast considerably drops on GP12 and the dark areas become too bright... Regarding the battery, it would be nice to have a test under exactly the same conditions. HDR on GP12 probably needs a little bit more power. On the other hand GPS should be switched off on the GP11 (if not already done). Looking forward to more comparisons.
It is very possible. Hot and sweaty 30c here today, but I guess that makes it an even more authentic test, as I think most GoPros are dirty. More comparisons on their way 🤘🏻
I think had GoPro called this the 11+ (a bit like the 3+ all those years ago), I don't think there'd be as much negativity. My GoPro 7 black recently failed (power button and leaky seal) and after looking around and researching, I went with the OA4 for my specific use cases. Liking it so far, but I think GoPros are pretty good too. I'm more surprised how little GP12 coverage there is relative to other launches, but seems the odd embargo and perhaps not seeding as many units accounts for that? Sure, if you have a 10 or 11, maybe not a need to upgrade, but I have no idea how many people upgrade action cams annually.
HDR mode looks good in this. I'm interested in seeing the lens mod. Battery life claims seem very exaggerated. Also, I'm going to keep saying there is zero reason the 11 can't have live preview. If it can stream to social media and record internally at the same time then it has all the capability, GoPro is just gatekeeping this feature to entice and upgrade to the 12. It's too bad GoPro doesn't offer some type of software upgrade for the 11 with the purchase of the new lens mod.
Great comparison. I still have one question which GoPro couldn't or didn't want to answer. For me I like to film im Flat or future then in GP-Log. For me it seemed that GP-Log also includes some HDR-features, because the background was not burned out in the parking garage at 8:21 before you started to run. The silver car in the background was with Hero12 very good to see, but with Hero11 completely burned out. Do you have an info/feeling about if HDR is also part of GP-Log?
Dlaczego obraz z kamery która była na rigu po lewej umieściłeś w kadrze po prawej? 2:48 haha, kurde jaki zonk, nie wiedziałem co się dzieje na początku...
I bought the 11 on sale a couple of weeks ago not knowing the 12 was about to release. I live on an island and thought we wouldn’t see the 12 any time soon so I was content. Today I went to the store and saw they had the 12 in stock and I couldn’t pass it up! Luckily I was still in my return window for the 11.
I did something similar… I bought the 11 before I left the USA for a long trip. That said, IDT I’m going to return it (in the near future) in order to get the 12. What do you guys think?
maybe it's too much of a request, but I'm curious about the comparison between gplog and gopro lab wide on in hero 11. for professionals, gopro lab can be set like a timecode (TCAL). supposedly you can change it yourself LOGB = logbase, offset only from hero 11. the question is whether this is all they introduced, maybe all these new things in hero 12 are proven experiments on gopro lab (I ignore the bluetooth connection). I see that in darker conditions the camera does not try to brighten the image so much, but rather maintains a fast shutter speed, they even changed the basic speed to maybe 1/50-60s, whereas in Hero 11 it is definitely 1/30 at settings 25/ 30 fps is better because I locked it at >1/100, where the stabilization still works.
I NEED SOME HELP. I am going to buy 11 or 12. and honestly, i dont think that i have so much use for the upgrade. i am going to use the gopro when hiking, fishing and maby freediving. The problem i have is that i dont really know how much i am going to use log and HDR. And when it comes to the wide camera stuff, i mean that not alot of people have 4k or 5k monitors, so am i going to have use for the upgrade from 11 to 12 camera quality? I dont really care about the prize difference, just think that i can get a tripod with the 11 and still be under the prize of the 12. If someone can give me some answer, then i would be very happy
I was really waiting for the 12 for my first GoPro. But when I heard that they removed the GPS I was kinda confused. For me it looked like a nice feature so I think I am going with the 11.
The GPS has made a lot of people sad, but I’ve never used it, much like 99% of people, so personally I’m okay with that. I do understand it might be a pain for some, and I guess GoPro will have a workaround like a GPS remote like DJI.
Good choice. The 12 is just a software updated 11 without the GPS. I am convinced the 11 remains the best action camera on the market. You won't regret it!
@@PhillipSkraba This 1% claim by GoPro is such a load of crap!!! They are only counting people using the GPS stickers in the Quik app... Seriously, how retarded do you have to be to edit videos using that horrible crappy app?!? People who use the GPS telemetry use third-party software and edit their videos on a real computer, which GoPro cannot include in their stats! And if they hadn't murdered the Dashware software when they bought it I guarantee you more people would be using the GPS telemetry. Even if you don't want to use the GPS to add gauges in your videos, I still use the GPS to make sure all my cameras are set to the correct date and time (using the GoPro Labs firmware) and I LOVE that my photos are geotagged. Concerning a new remote that could include GPS, this is also a major fukken pain in the ass because I already have the Remote and I don't feel like getting a new one just to get GPS, which was included in previous cameras. Right now I own 11 GoPro cameras so if I wanna go race karts with friends we can all have our own GoPro and we can all get our own GPS telemetry. With the Hero 12 I would need to buy a separate remote for every single GoPro camera in order to get GPS data (assuming they do come out with a GPS remote)... You can quickly see how that doesn't make any frickin sense and why I'm so pissed that they removed the GPS.
@@T4nkcommander Yes i totally agree. They just removed the GPS that you can also disable on the 11, so they could claim better battery life and less overheating. Pretty weird selution to a problem and almost looks like a downgrade to me. Personally i want to use the gopro to film my karting races so the GPS feature is something i would like to have.
The 12 does seem like an overall improvement, albeit evolutionary rather than revolutionary, but from your footage it appears to suffer from considerably worse lens flare when the light is behind you @7:16. I've got one on order anyway. I've already got the 11 so now I'll be able to have one both front and back on my motorcycle (the 11 with the GPS on the front).
So the HDR in the Hero 12 is not BT.2020 in a HDR profile like PQ or HLG? Is it rendered in SDR (Rec.709) and simply given more dynamic range by blending frames and/or tone mapping differences? And are we able to apply GoPro's various colors profiles to their HDR mode, and is it 8 or 10 bit?
@@PhillipSkraba Thanks! Here in Brazil I have a gap of +/- USD$100 between GP11 and GP12....😩 This has made me think a lot, although your opinion had a lot of weight in my decision!

I think what bothers me, shadows on face can be quite dark on the oa4.
That's why I like making videos like these, out there in the streets, like 99% of action camera users do. I'll drop my comparisons in the next coming days.
Hi Forest ;) First of all thank you for some semi low light test. I watched your video at my 50 inches TV to see detail differences between both camera and here it is what I spotted: 1. HDR is amazing if we talk about scenes in 05:16 (we see what is outside in 12, we see nothing in 11) and 11:55. Thats really something. 2. I was looking at your t-shirt and 11 gave a smooth as baby face look of it. 12 gave as bumpy texturres a bit grundge effect which is acceptable. 3. Cons of HDR we can see at you face. Its a bit overdraw 13:10 or maybe its just my feeling. Anyway it was quite nice compare. I am looking forward for next episods. I bet GP will release better FW which correct some issues. At the and to be totally honest - if not HDR I see not much differnces between those devices. Audio is same, overall quality as well. To be honest I am still do not have reason to be shame as a owner of GPH7. Lets see with direct compare test with DJI4. Greatings. PS: I am still holding like GPU potencial buyers ;)
The reason the Hero 11 and Hero 10 don't display live preview while recording is that GoPro was sued on copyright infringement for this technology. I guess they've re-designed it. Whether it is a good as originally intended, I don't know. Whereas DJI has been using its own proprietary preview for several years.
Yeah, just a software updated 11 without the GPS unit - so you are paying for downgraded hardware. The HDR saves post-processing but better results can be gotten out of the 11 if you are color grading. I'm usually the first to say get the latest GoPro as they are worth it but this is the exception that proves the rule. Shame GoPro won't update the 11 to have some of these features, since the hardware is clearly capable of it.
@@PhillipSkraba That's true - the enhanced FOV is nice. But is is frustrating knowing my 11 could do it, if GoPro just released the firmware update for it.
Sorry to say, but I cant see any difference. Yes HDR do something, but upgrading from hero 11. Nope!. I have the Hero 10, works fine. Sometimes. I also have action 4, looks better then hero 12
The Action 4 is excellent. I don't think the upgrade is needed from the Hero 11 unless you use this in a professional environment, where you can make use of GP-Log, time codes and hdr here and there. If you're on the Hero 10, sure, that's worth an upgrade.
@@PhillipSkraba Truth be told, you are actually one of the few channels on UA-cam that is honest and sincere. And the GoPro Hero 12 seems to be a good camera, but I think many had hoped for more. But possibly next year👍
Thanks, I take pride in that. I think it's a great camera, with a ton of new options for pros, and sure, maybe next year they'll be ready for a bigger sensor, 8k, fireworks and all that jazz. We'll see.
@@PhillipSkraba Ya if you have an 11, not sure why you would upgrade unless you just do upgrades just because... I'm coming from the Hero 8 and Insta X2, but I'm digging the Action 4 the most out of all of them.
Well, if you look at the first shots, it's the same, after that I use hdr and GP-Log on the Hero 12, choices the Hero 11 doesn't have, so it may appear the Hero 11 looks better, but in reality it's the first shot that shows that the standard profile is basically the same.
When you used HDR i still thought the Hero 11 on most of the video looked better and when your video got to about 6.31 the Hero 11 footage was far better than the Hero 12, i think in all the videos i have seen so far the Hero 12 is no better and in some footage worse than the Hero 11, i will stick to the Hero 11 and see what the competition brings out.
I think it's basically the same, and for hdr, you'd have to be a hdr fan, which I am not, but it does have it's use, in low light for example, there it works magic.
I don’t own either but looking at buying one of these two. I can definitely say after watching this video and several others that the HERO11 looks much better. I’m being totally unbiased here as I don’t own either but I’m in the market. I don’t even understand DJi Action 4 as every video the HERO11 looks so much better than the DJI Action 4. Trust me I don’t mind $500 for the right one, not a problem but geez I’m totally shocked the more I see. Maybe it’s the perfectionist and knitpicker in me lol. I’m sure for anyone that any of these could would be amazing.
I think it’s the introduction of hdr, but you can turn that off and it looks much more natural. The Hero 12 is by far the better choice in every single way, I’m unbiased too, I own all of them, and the Hero 12 has great improvements over the Hero 11, especially battery life and reliability.
Thanks for the great review and comparison as always Phillip. I'm sticking with my Hero 11 at this stage. Would love to see a review of the Hero 12's bluetooth and wireless GO. That said thanks again for a great and honest review and a BIG thumbs up.
@@PhillipSkraba mógłbyś przy porównaniu zwrócić uwagę na problem z ostrością w Action4? Maybe is firmware .... but im dissapointed. Hero 11 video has better image clarity , lower grain in low light, and better in general...... It seems the "battery fix" to 12 comes with a big cost. In PC, there are a few codecs and not "magic" as Go Pro says..... Hope im mistake.
I think it's all down to use case scenario. The Hero 12 is not a huge update from the Hero 11, BUT, it is an excellent camera, with a few more choices that make a difference to pros. If you're coming from the Hero 10 or lower, sure, it's worth the jump up.
I guess it really depends on your use case scenario, if it's vlogging, the Hero 11 is more than enough. If you want choices as you're filming more ambitious projects with it, GP-Log will come in handy, as will live view record.
After reading all the comments. I couldn't decide now which one is better to purchase. 😂 I added to cart the 11 and 12,. Let's see the final decision. 🤭
Something is wrong with the lenses on Go Pro 12. The glare of the sun behind you makes me think that there are cheap plastic lenses with low transparency.
Imo hyperview is WAYYY too distorted. I prefer the 8:7 shape. On my Hero11 I love using the 8:7 feature Also I hope somebody tears down this camera to confirm whether the GPS has been removed or just disabled in software.
Is it just me or does the 11 look way better? The 12 has that oversharpened over processed look similar to Action 4. 11 looks much better in terms of the overall video quality.
@@PhillipSkraba from what I’ve seen on UA-cam the colors are more natural on action 4 but I don’t like the sharpening it has especially in bushes and shrubs it looks fine in a city environment with straight lines but in nature the sharpening looks unnatural to me. And I’ve seen GoPro 11 looking a little smoother and more natural in that environment but different videos have different settings so I could be wrong but this is based on what I’ve seen in multiple comparison videos.
The Action 4 does seem more natural than the Hero 11, but we'll see, once I get to play with them a little more side by side all will be revealed. A few more days and I'll be on top of this.
Well, I'd say in the first comparisons it looked pretty much the same. In hdr, sure, as hdr will look less crisp, in GP-Log, same thing, it'll be flatter than flat. So in reality, it's the same, but with a ton more when it comes to choices and options.
@@PhillipSkraba I will take your word for it. Amazing video! 1 more question, when are you releasing the video comparing Max Lens 1.0 vs Max Lens 2.0 ? Really excited for that comparison.
I ordered that via Amazon US to Poland, to it should be here on Wednesday Thursday, as I saw it was sent yesterday. As soon as I get it I'll be on that.
71% vs 68% is not double battery life. It sounds negligible. And the Hero 12 probably had a brand new battery, and the Hero 11 not, so the difference is moot,. I have the 10 and the 11, I barely see a difference in the real world. I do not need GPS often, but it is nice to have to geotag places. I'm more surprised how little GP12 coverage there is relative to other launches, but seems the odd embargo and perhaps not seeding as many units accounts for that? Sure, if you have a 10 or 11, maybe not a need to upgrade, but I have no idea how many people upgrade action cams annually.
Annually is crazy, every 3-4 years sure. I buy them or get them for reviews, that’s all. The OA4 is excellent!
Can u shoot hdr with 4k60 lock horizen with and without max lens mod 2
I will be testing that tomorrow when the Max Lens Mod 2.0 arrives 🔥
I am going to buy GoPro 11 ..uts really heating problem? Please suggest
I’d go with the Hero 12 if you have a choice.
The hdr looks great, and believe me, I was pissed from the Hero 8 and up that GoPro didn’t have live view record.
Great video. Thank you. What bag are you wearing?
Ahhhh thanks! The Wandrd 3L sling, it’s absolutely fantastic!

Taki mindF dla was 😂
I bought the 11 on sale a couple of weeks ago not knowing the 12 was about to release. I live on an island and thought we wouldn’t see the 12 any time soon so I was content. Today I went to the store and saw they had the 12 in stock and I couldn’t pass it up! Luckily I was still in my return window for the 11.
Oh no way!! You lucky soul!! You'll love it, hdr will come in handy for some nice island shots 🔥
I think little has changed, smoke and mirrors really. As I keep saying, the Max Lens Mod 2.0 is where the real magic happens.
I get mine tomorrow at a gopro event here in the Netherlands. Can’t wait to do a review! 🥷😎
You’re going to love it!
Honestly i dont see a noticeable difference 😅
Firmware update!
I have hero 10 and got action4 last week.
Thanks for the video 🙏🏻
Well, I think the hdr, GP-Log and Max Lens Mod 2.0 will make a big difference. The Action 4 is an excellent camera, it's a good choice.
O mesmo aconteceu comigo já comprei minha 11 😢
Fantastic comparison!
Can you overexpose GP-Log like SLog-3 or not?
Nah, I’d probably keep it clean, I don’t think this sensor will handle overexposure too well.
Ủa sao xem bền cam 12 lại hơi hơi bị mơ và tối vậy,,rất khó hiểu
No idea.
Good gopro in every time gopro hero 7 black, hero 9 black hero 11 black
5:45 "Maybe that's something they'll add in a firmware upgrade" - That firmware update takes a year and is called GoPro 13 😂
Lol, you guys!
Hi, question. At 12:41 did you turn on the HDR here?
That right there is the flat profile on the Hero 11 and the natural profile on the Hero 12.
@@PhillipSkraba thank you so much, with this answer you convinced me to go with Hero 12 instead of 11. I appreciate you 🙏
Thanks Phil I just went and bought one please do all the tests that you can the let us know what the capabilities are thank you
Trust me, working hard to keep testing these. Congratulations on the purchase!
Thank you for great comparison. Just wish to see LOG vs HDR to see who gets the best DR.
GP-Log vs HDR on the Hero 12, I'll be doing that too.
Which one i buy for my travel vlogs
I dont have any experience of gopro and dji action 4
Suggest me which camera i should have to buy
I’d probably still go with the Action 4, I know it’s reliable.
Now that sounds like a solid setup. The Hero 12 will be great as you'll be able to have live view whilst you're recording now, big deal for mounting.
Hi, thanks for your video.
You used HDR on gopro hero 12 during the test ?
Sure, if you watched it, you’d know 😂
So the HDR in the Hero 12 is not BT.2020 in a HDR profile like PQ or HLG? Is it rendered in SDR (Rec.709) and simply given more dynamic range by blending frames and/or tone mapping differences? And are we able to apply GoPro's various colors profiles to their HDR mode, and is it 8 or 10 bit?
Yes, I believe it's a couple of rendered shots at different iso's to give us a hdr shot.
@@PhillipSkraba Okay cool, thanks!
Hello! Great work!
For diving, short photos and filming, in your opinion, 11 or 12?
Thank You! I'd go with the Hero 12, it's new, it's got a load more pro options, it's clearly the winner.
@@PhillipSkraba Thanks!
Here in Brazil I have a gap of +/- USD$100 between GP11 and GP12....😩
This has made me think a lot, although your opinion had a lot of weight in my decision!
I'd go with the Hero 12.
@@PhillipSkraba Perfect!
I just "clicked" the buy button! hahahaha
Do you get a lot of sun streaks when filming with the sun behind you or is this just mine?
It’s not something that is abnormal, most of these small cameras will have some kind of wild flare.
this is odd, but it seems like the GP11 is sharper than the GP12? Noticed that on your face the most. That seems weird to me.
I think they're pretty comparable when it comes to the standard profile.
Great video. I'm sticking with my 10 for a while. These upgrades on the 12 are nice, but i will hold off for the 13 possibly.
The Hero 10 is great, mind you, the Hero 12 really feels like a good upgrade. I'm sure the Hero 13 will be a monster.
@@PhillipSkraba agreed!
Lets go OA4 vs Gopro 12… please cover the low light. And maybe some selfies photography. Love your honest review, subscribed for all the dji vs gopro rivalry series. Hahah. Please make indepth interesting review. Keep em coming.
I will be dropping the DJI Action vs GoPro Hero 12 soon, thanks 😂
@@PhillipSkraba actually i bought the OA4, used so its surprisingly cheap. Waiting for a good comparison to justify trying out the gopro 12. Main usage not for extreme sports, just vlog & a lil photography for me and my wife. As we dont like to bother other people asking to take our photos. I think what bothers me, shadows on face can be quite dark on the oa4.
That's why I like making videos like these, out there in the streets, like 99% of action camera users do. I'll drop my comparisons in the next coming days.
How is the Hero 10 compared to the 11?
Pretty similar.
@@PhillipSkraba cheers
Hi Forest ;) First of all thank you for some semi low light test. I watched your video at my 50 inches TV to see detail differences between both camera and here it is what I spotted:
Yes, on the face HDR is overkill, especially in bright sunlight. I like the GP-Log, still need to test that a lot more.
Using Dji to shoot a comparison between Gopro 11 and 12. Noicee man 😂
I like to live dangerously 😂
And I’m actually considering buying that now instead of the GoPro is the footage from that looks great.
Hey Phil, when you mentioned auto boost I thought you were talking about your superlative running 🏃♂️
hahaaha, I run like I'm chasing someone who stole my GoPro!
Looks like 12 under exposes a bit when compared to 11 and thus recovering the highlight. 12 has more saturation and contrast
Yes, that's possible.
Is this good something or no?
Facing heating problem in Go Pro 12?
No, it hasn't overheated on me yet, no.
The reason the Hero 11 and Hero 10 don't display live preview while recording is that GoPro was sued on copyright infringement for this technology. I guess they've re-designed it. Whether it is a good as originally intended, I don't know. Whereas DJI has been using its own proprietary preview for several years.
Apparently so, those are the rumours on the street.
Per GoPro the 11 should get it in 2024 as an update
Yeah, just a software updated 11 without the GPS unit - so you are paying for downgraded hardware. The HDR saves post-processing but better results can be gotten out of the 11 if you are color grading. I'm usually the first to say get the latest GoPro as they are worth it but this is the exception that proves the rule. Shame GoPro won't update the 11 to have some of these features, since the hardware is clearly capable of it.
I think the real difference is the Max Lens Mod 2.0, I’m looking forward to that.
@@PhillipSkraba That's true - the enhanced FOV is nice. But is is frustrating knowing my 11 could do it, if GoPro just released the firmware update for it.
It's possible, maybe, I have no idea.
Bought your new designed feet. Hoping they come in before my next trip in the 22nd.
Oh you're going to love those, they make life so much easier.
Your run is simply... epic - like "Chariots od fire" - you're definitely GOing PRO :D
hahahahaha 😂
Best video I’ve seen. And based on it I’m about to order the 12! 👌🏻
Well thanks for that! Glad you picked it up, it's a really nice action camera!
We'll see.
If you move your eyes to the center by connecting both images, you can achieve a stereo effect in this video😄
Lol, you!
Nahh not much of a difference for what I need. The DJI Action 4 seems to be the clear winner in this video
If you're coming from a Hero 11, yeah, not so much for everyday vlog use.
@@PhillipSkraba Ya if you have an 11, not sure why you would upgrade unless you just do upgrades just because... I'm coming from the Hero 8 and Insta X2, but I'm digging the Action 4 the most out of all of them.
Hero 11 looks better than 12. Any setting difference??
Well, if you look at the first shots, it's the same, after that I use hdr and GP-Log on the Hero 12, choices the Hero 11 doesn't have, so it may appear the Hero 11 looks better, but in reality it's the first shot that shows that the standard profile is basically the same.
OA4 vs GPH12 comparison LFG
Will be coming asap.
I think it's basically the same, and for hdr, you'd have to be a hdr fan, which I am not, but it does have it's use, in low light for example, there it works magic.
thanks for doing a proper log comparison vs the hero 11, just what I was looking for
The Log looks great on the Hero 12, looking forward to using it.
Go pro 12 vs dji osmo 4 which purchase
It's a hard choice, I like both of them.

Ninguém conta que tiraram o gps da 12
I’ve said that like 10 times.
*and I used it in all my GoPros - never.
Hdr look amazing! The highlights are amazing
It really takes care of those highlights, that's true!
I buy gp12 and video resolution is awesome!! And stability.
The GoPro Hero 12 is a good choice!
@@PhillipSkraba sounds awesome, that is what I’m leaning towards myself. Thank you 😊

Just what I was looking for. Let's see which 1 of these I grab, it's time to toss my old go pro hero 5 lmao
Oh my gosh, yes it is!! Well, don't toss, just put in on the shelf. The Hero 12, that's the one to go with, no questions asked.
Thanks for the great review and comparison as always Phillip. I'm sticking with my Hero 11 at this stage. Would love to see a review of the Hero 12's bluetooth and wireless GO. That said thanks again for a great and honest review and a BIG thumbs up.
Thanks Kym! I'll be testing the audio shortly, I'm very interested in that subject too.

Najbardziej czekam na porównanie Action4 z Gopro12🤓Mega dobry test, pzdr!
Niebawem to tez zrobie 🔥

U feel like the cams were switched around like the first 10min hero11 was looking very sharp n crisp then afterwards it was hero 12
Everything was correctly tagged 🔥
I ordered 12, cuz lost my 11, but why 12 is much darker in most of your comparisons? Thats a big no for me, image looks much darker!
That really depends on what profile you’re using. It’s the same on the first natural shots, I wouldn’t say it differs.
@@PhillipSkraba THANKS a lot for the video. I Will upgrade from Hero 8. Will see Next days... you are the first!!!
Thanks, just canceled my 12 pre-orders and going to buy the 11 😂
I guess it really depends on your use case scenario, if it's vlogging, the Hero 11 is more than enough. If you want choices as you're filming more ambitious projects with it, GP-Log will come in handy, as will live view record.
After reading all the comments. I couldn't decide now which one is better to purchase. 😂 I added to cart the 11 and 12,. Let's see the final decision. 🤭
Tell me about it!! The comments really do not help in choosing lol.
@@PhillipSkraba I just checked out my GoPro Hero 12. 🥰

It does seem to go into a slightly cooler tone, yes. Thanks!
HDR making a huge difference, all that is needed in the new Gopro is a larger image sensor
HDR makes a massive difference here.
@@PhillipSkraba I'm impressed with how nice it works. Great video btw
Why 11 looks clearer than 12 ?
Where?
@@PhillipSkraba especially when there is sun behind you.
It really depends, I think they're identical until I start switching up options on the Hero 12.
Something is wrong with the lenses on Go Pro 12. The glare of the sun behind you makes me think that there are cheap plastic lenses with low transparency.
clearly the stabilisation is better/smoother on gopro 12
I think so too.
It Stays clear at all times you see it for Yourself
Still identical, except when I turn on other Hero 12 features.
HDR looks great.
It does a good job in certain circumstances.
15:40 lets hope Dji brings update, you prob mean the Go Pro
Yeah, you know me, tired, sweaty, don't know my foot from my arse at the moment lol.
Спасибо за видео bro.
Thanks!
Imo hyperview is WAYYY too distorted. I prefer the 8:7 shape. On my Hero11 I love using the 8:7 feature
Also I hope somebody tears down this camera to confirm whether the GPS has been removed or just disabled in software.
I think that would be a waste of a camera lol. The distortion is wild, yep, I much prefer the straight lines on the Action 4.
@@PhillipSkrabaI don't think it would be a waste bc of FPV pilots removing screen, battery, etc from GoPro to make it lighter for FPV drones
Well, they have the Bones, I think that's what they use a lot. I think.
Is it just me or does the 11 look way better? The 12 has that oversharpened over processed look similar to Action 4. 11 looks much better in terms of the overall video quality.
I see it the other way. The Action 4 is way more natural, I’ll drop the Action 4 comparison soon.
Interestingly, Hero 11 footage looked better and crisper in almost all the cases! 🤔
You messed up the footage with the 12 😬, that's not how it looks. Check your settings again
Nope, it’s fine, and that’s how it looks.
In HDR, it seems the only improvement is in the highlights, they're not as blown out. The shadows seem to be better on the 11. Meh...
Yes, exactly.
In your running test (Audio in camera part) looks like GoPro 11 has much more better stabilization :DDD
Well, I'll be doing a dedicated stabilisation video, where I turn on horizon lock, but I'm waiting for the Max Lens Mod 2.0.
GoPro 11 look better i think
I think they look similar.
the eleventh GoPro takes better pictures than the twelfth Gopro
It does?
71% vs 68% is not double battery life. It sounds negligible. And the Hero 12 probably had a brand new battery, and the Hero 11 not, so the difference is moot,. I have the 10 and the 11, I barely see a difference in the real world. I do not need GPS often, but it is nice to have to geotag places. Probably the Hero 10 is the best deal among the action cameras.
I am really liking the Hero 12, but yeah, it's not double battery life, not with how I'm using it at the moment.
@@PhillipSkraba how would you rate the battery life difference at 5K 60fps between the 12 and the 10 or 11? In the end all these GoPros are good enough
Go pro 11 is better, no flare better grading and better shadows .
Not so sure about that looking through the footage, they seem very similar in natural mode.
Go Pro 12 HERO OFFICIAL THE KING:::::👍
It's a very good camera, yes.
The HDR actually looks really good! The audio sounds much better on the 12 as well. Looks like a decent upgrade, even from the 11.
It kind of looks like an iPhone on my face when it gets a little too sunny/overexposed, but through windows it does a fantastic job.
Will stick with my 11 till the 13
That sounds like a plan.
