the way that I am 24 years old and have never understood what exactly the shining is and you just, in 30 seconds, explained it better and more clearly than anyone else ever has to me omg
And the most indulgent hot drink award goes to...... 😂. Honestly I love how you treat yourself with your hot drinks, they are so creative and cosy. A simple pleasure that goes a long way in warming us up in more ways than one ☕️🍁🤎
I have made a promise to myself long ago that i would never read stephen king, but i do love reading reciews of his books for some reason and i love your vlogs, so this is my ideal vlog to watch! Honestly the fact that you managed to read 1 and three thirds of his books in one day amazes me, you did excellently!
Loved this vlog so much! Stephen is writing a book about Holly and should be out in a couple years, according to a couple interviews I watched. 😁 I would recommend reading the Mr. Mercedes trilogy too! It’s an amazing series!
Lovely vlog as always Ciara and I'm really impressed at how much you read during this 24hr readathon. Also I really loved the music in this vlog haha xx
Aw thank you so much - I'm so glad you enjoyed! I get all of my music from Epidemic Sound and they had some great Halloween music options which I took full advantage of ahah!
Sounds like If It Bleeds is apart of the Mr Mercedes series. Have you read those? I love the mature walk you and Jay do. The English trails are just sooo pretty!! I like the Nightmare Before Christmas music you got going on. It really sets the mood!!
No, I haven't read that series - will check it out! And aw, the trails look so nice at this time of year, we're lucky to live right near some lovely parks and walking spots!
I have just found your channel and I am really excited about getting to no you more and what you love to read please stay safe and I wish I had discovered you before your 24 hour Stephen king readathon xxxxx John from Australia
Just loved the video! I´m a Stephen King fan but haven´t read these 2 books yet. Now I´m looking forward to starting The Outsider. My all time favorite is The Stand! PS: You really look like Rory Gilmore =)
Was waiting for this! I read three and I spread it out over two twelve hours days in a weekend. I was wondering if I had the right weekend because I couldn't find anything on instagram in the tags. But I was present! I read: The Long Walk, Different Seasons, Rose Madder. They were all good, but the long walk really got my attention
I was terrible with posting on instagram but so glad you took part! I'm half way through different seasons (have read Shawshank and The Body and loved both)! Will definitely have a look at The Long Walk! Thanks for joining me for the readathon!
You have such a great voice for videos. Really enjoy them. I need to try a 24 hour readathon some day. The music that played after you said you couldn’t stay awake- it sounded like Sally’s song ( can’t remember the name) from Nightmare Before Christmas. Was it? Music was great.
I was typing that you should watch the Doctor Sleep movie and then you mentioned it. It's one of my favourite adaptations of King's books. And funnily enough, it came out exactly a year ago. I remember going to watch it on Halloween day ^^
I agree, his books are very heavy, the first book took quite a while to get through but I find his novellas and short stories a lot easier to get through!
Hey I just found your channel and I'm in love. Do you have any good book recommendations,i like Harry Potter and also romance? You have the same name as my sister so that's so cool
Like most of Stephen King's books Dr.Sleep and The Outsider are more than likely connect by what the author calls "ToDash Space" which is another dimension connected to ours which is where most of his monsters come from such as It, Flagg, The Fog and some others. Very much inspired by H.P. Lovecraft.
"Rat" is quite good IMHO. "Chuck" didn't reach me as deeply as it reached King. Try Vonnegut's _Slaughterhouse 5_ to see if we see eye to eye on what goes on in the heads of unreachable protagonists. "Mr. Harrington's Phone" presented some nicely developed characters, it's unfortunate for us their lives weren't sufficiently exciting to support a full-length novel. Thx.
oooh, I'll definitely get to Rat so I can finish the collection. I'll definitely add Slaughterhouse 5 to my tbr so we can compare thoughts! And yeah agreed, it is a shame that the characters weren't given as much space to develop!
Lovely video! The music made it twice lovelier though, it was pure magic. How do you find this kind of music, how is it called? Can’t find anything like it on Spotify :(
Weird, I thought the Outsider was absolutely horrible, but LOVED Doctor Sleep. If you have read the Outsider and didn't like it, don't be put off from Doctor Sleep, because they really aren't that similar.
Oooh that's interesting! I loved both books, and agree, the overall books aren't that similar but I did notice some parallels mostly just with the paranormal elements of the True Knot and The Outsider!
The fact that you were falling asleep while reading Doctor Sleep...lol
the way that I am 24 years old and have never understood what exactly the shining is and you just, in 30 seconds, explained it better and more clearly than anyone else ever has to me omg
I'm sure you get this often but you look so much like the actress who plays Rory in Gilmore Girls!
Like it’s almost uncanny how much they look alike!
I just started reading consistently for the first time in like years n these videos keep me motivated to read more n read longer
Everytime Ciara uploads I have a high serotonin rush!! Plus love your vlogs. They are so amazing as usual!!😍
Aww this is the sweetest comment - thanks so much for watching!
And the most indulgent hot drink award goes to...... 😂. Honestly I love how you treat yourself with your hot drinks, they are so creative and cosy. A simple pleasure that goes a long way in warming us up in more ways than one ☕️🍁🤎
hahah my hot drinks are my pride and joy - a good hot drink makes me so happy!
Happy Halloween!! I've been reading Pet Cemetery over the last week - such a messed up book, but love reading King around this time!
Pet Cemetery was one of my reads last year and it is so disturbing but so gripping!
Lovely vlog! Dr Sleep (film) is brilliant! I'm currently towards the end of The Shining (book). Dr Sleep (book) is next on my list. ^_^
yess!! i just did my first ever 24-hour readathon and i loved it so much, too!!
amazing - so glad you enjoyed your readathon!

ooh, that's interesting! I'm glad you enjoyed the vlog though!
I’m currently reading “The girl who loved Tom Gordon” absolutely loving it. I really love Stephen King.
I found a really cool pop up book of that at a thrift store!
That book is so good! I just read it last month
@@Raine-97 it’s great. I’m always recommending it.
This is incredible, Stephen King books are so dense I have to take my time with them but you go!
Agreed - they are dense! I think the novellas are definitely a little quicker to get through which helped!
Loved this vlog so much!
Stephen is writing a book about Holly and should be out in a couple years, according to a couple interviews I watched. 😁 I would recommend reading the Mr. Mercedes trilogy too! It’s an amazing series!
Happy Halloween Ciara! Love your videos!👻🎃🧙🏻♀️🍁🍂🖤🧡🖤

You should read 'Firestarter' by Stephen King.
I'm a single mom and this is the most indulgent thing I can imagine. So jelly
Loooove your 24 hour read-a-thon vlogs
Aw thank you so much - I love making them so I'm glad you enjoy watching!

I think you can freeze buttercream. Depends on what kind you make.
Just loved the video! I´m a Stephen King fan but haven´t read these 2 books yet. Now I´m looking forward to starting The Outsider. My all time favorite is The Stand! PS: You really look like Rory Gilmore =)

I definitely need to watch it asap!
My husband makes me cake pops and he dips them in melted chocolate to hold them together and freezes them before/after the chocolate.
now that would have been the smart thing to do ahahah
Also how did u read this much of Stephen king in the whole day? I find his writing very heavy
I agree, his books are very heavy, the first book took quite a while to get through but I find his novellas and short stories a lot easier to get through!

oooh thanks so much for telling me this, I had no idea but that's so interesting (and totally makes sense)!
I like your acent
OMG I love your vlogs so much! This is the highlight of my day 💫
Have you read the Mr. Mercedes trilogy? That's where Holly's character is from :)
"Rat" is quite good IMHO. "Chuck" didn't reach me as deeply as it reached King. Try Vonnegut's _Slaughterhouse 5_ to see if we see eye to eye on what goes on in the heads of unreachable protagonists. I’ve read The Shining but not Doctor Sleep, I might have to read it after watching this vlog haha
This is an everything other than reading vlog.
I’d say there was quite a bit of reading lol
Next year, you should read Christine and try to be able to read it in the car at one point 😂
I don’t know why but I LOVE your accent
It's so nice
What are the rabbits name? Very cute they are
they are super cute - the grey rabbit is Gatsby and the white/brown rabbit is Willow!
@@ciarascorner adorable names !!
omg those cake pops look like meatballs with cheese sauce haha
omg they do hahahaha
You look beautiful today
please teach me your secret!! How do you read almost 2 books and bake, and sleep all in 24 hours?
I don't know why but you remind me of Rory from Gilmore Girls.
The king of Horror Books has to be James Herbert. I mean, his first horror story was about big, man-eating rats!
(Although Stephen comes second).
Definitely read pet sematary!!
I did last year - loved it!!
I'm here because of cats!
you are supposed to take off the jacket of a hardcover book before reading it!!!
don’t think it really matters tbh
I’ve read The Shining but not Doctor Sleep, I might have to read it after watching this vlog haha
