Hardcore fans will release King isn’t a horror writer at all. He’s a writer that just writes horrific characters and thrilling plots. People just seem to levitate towards that genre via his name because they’ve only read 2-4 books that are a little scary. When you read 20+ books of his you’ll realise he’s a master craft of the field of writing. ✍️ It’s actually hard to pinpoint what sort of writer he is but he’s definitely not strictly a horror writer. I’d say it’s definitely more towards a thriller writer!
Took a break from fantasy to dive into King this year. Misery, Pet Sematary, and recently just finished Salem’s Lot. Loved all of these! Misery though for some reason is still my favorite.
I’m super into horror, have been since a child. I read this book for the first time a few months ago… the end had me literally trembling in fear! I literally cried I was so scared! 🤣😭
@@ryanlocklear750 I was planning on picking up Christine this month! And I think I’ll do a “reading Stephen King for a week” in the fall. I have a bunch of his books on my bookshelf 😊
Been reading king singe the 1980s the first being it like the the finders keeper set off books mr mercedes finders keepers the outsiders end off watch if it bleeds and holly
My first Stephen King book was Cujo... I AM TRAMATIZED!!! If you have ever read it before you would understand. I think misery was less tramatizing. Cujo is... something else. And may I say poor Tad. Poor poor Tad.
@@Mireille_Miller 😂😂😂 It is really scary and I cried a few times too. I would love to see a book vlog over Cujo. I want to see what you think of it. And, if you do read it I give you this 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
I don’t really recommend Billy Summers, the book is all over the place and it involves a completely young female character getting Stockholm syndrome for the older male character (that male character being Billy Summers) it also kind of describes the said female character's r@pe, and she’s grossly used in a lot of sexual situations, like I think I remember her being told to lift up her skirt for another guy
I don't think that's entirely accurate. He's got a religious background himself, and the religious characters that are evil are religious extremists. Then there's The Stand, which King himself calls "a tale of dark Christianity" and one of the forces of good, Mother Abigail, is a very religious woman herself.

you picked an amazing book to start off Stephen king Annie Wilkes is one of the best female villains
She was a FANTASTIC villain! So creepy, so complex.
Misery is more scary than it becouse it more posable to hapen than a alien spider sleeping under you town wacking up every 30 years or so to feed
27 years.

also and I'm a Christian also i find it ironic with the bible quote knwing how awful king makes Christian characters
Haha I guess that’s true. I didn’t even think about it

@@PoppyMorreale you might not like reveille then
I don't think that's fair to say. He has many good Christian characters too. Read Desperation for example.
