Most Minimalist Youtube Studio Build: How & Why
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 вер 2021
- This is the most basic and minimalist youtube studio I could come up with. For those filming at home and don't want their entire room looking like a studio. This is pretty minimal with 1 light, a mic boom attached to the light stand, and your camera on a tripod. It takes up very little space, budget setup for a very minimalism like studio that is out of the way.

I'm recognized by your granny world wide already. ;)
Proof that Fuji is a real living being and not just a piece of tech.
I've watched this dude like 10 times. Today in the middle of this old video, when he cuts to his side view with messy cords, soccer shorts, pale legs, he got me. What a character. 💛
Most important gear you did not mention: a chair that doesn't f$cking squeak.
I like your lighting setup. Most youtubers spend a crap load of money on lights, to make their studio as dark as possible.
So true
Yeah!!! Finally someone said it! It’s like that all are filmy in a cave…
I’m shocked at how many vids you put out on your show. You’re a damn machine. It is brilliant content 💯
I appreciate hearing how you think. We all come at this video thing from different places and it’s cool to watch you work through your priorities.
Oh... a thought about what you could remove to unclutter your studio... The XT4... put it in a box with any un-needed Fuji lenses... and ship to New Zealand. I live in Auckland.
That Fuji joke @4:10 was hilarious. It got me and I laughed for a good minute. Had to rewind the video to actually pay attention.
That chair "B-Roll" While you were discussing mic, cracked me up bad!🤣
I use a much smaller LED light and point it at the white wall behind the desk, so it reflects in a much bigger and softer shape back to my face. Works brilliantly. And the light is hidden behind my Monitor so it doesn't even clutter my desktop.
I tried that but unfortunately my wall is cream coloured and textured so ended up getting a Godox ML60 with a 60cm softbox, not too big and made a HUGE difference
Such an underrated channel. Love your work!
Ha I was just researching about what to buy to start a youtube channel from my bedroom and this video came up. Lol. Thanks Kasey.
I have a candle, it gives a very warm light and it heats up my tiny studio during the winter. You should try it.
Another great video, loved the gear summary at the end!
The color from the light is scrumptious.
That music when Kasey goes in his poor-me "victim" mode lol
So cool video once again. You are really one my UA-cam Hero. Congrats for reaching 100k on this channel! And love the effort you put in sound in all your videos, it is so cool for the ears... Big fan here.
I am definitely intrigued by that light. I would go for the 18" because my wife hates all clutter, except her own which is by definition essential.
I also like your new "*pause* .... subscribe" outro. Waiting for that is like waiting for your "Photographers. ............. LOSER". 😂
Ummm...define 'too many hotdogs as children...' LOL Great content shared.
Good one, please continue making videos about how you shoot your videos, how you sync them with audio etc, like your journey from A to Z. Much appreciated
Great minimalist setup, I wonder how it will evolve over time.
The Falcon Eyes 68 TDX is even thinner. Love mine.
Haha god damn it I forgot how much I enjoy your videos! Finding you back, so fun! Thanks for another one, really down to earth, exactly how I feel in my setup and old pc builds lol
LOL. Wow. I loved every second of this video. First time seeing you. I'm now subscribed.
That switch laughs were epic
you are so right about the rgb led's...
Love your humour - very watchable
Missed this one somehow. Very Nice.
Hey fuj’ love when you just breathe.. lol. A laugh is great way to start the day
Nice cable management behind the PC
lol o/
Well, I watched Gerald U’s latest video. You’re gonna need 4-6 ‘Sound Blankets” up in there!
How do you only have 100k subs? I expected that you had at least 200 billion. Amazing content. Fantastic affiliate links. Amazing light. Great auto exposure on the Fuji. You have it all! :) great video again. That mic… probably a good solution for me. I don’t need it. I want it.
"Nono I was paying attention.. " lmaooo
LOL at 4:07 when the Fuji camera changes exposure!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Best computer cable management ever 😎
subscribed for that intro...
It’s a beautiful 🦅
New word to add to my vocabulary “Fooge”
My preferred spelling:
Fhuge
🥸🥸🤪
Got that same ikea table 😁 and I felt excited I fkn hate being old and into furniture 😂😂 28 btw very old
Hello nice video thanks. Saludos
Hahaha… that light is insanely enormous ….what the 😄. Having said that, it’s a glorious scene.
Kasey's B-Roll rocks -- that's what *I* said!
You could illuminate your slightly colored wall using a series of remote controlled RGB led lights bulbs (they are cheap) then change their color to cancel the tint of your wall.
Nice setup ... Yes, im subscribe 👍
I wonder if your grannies use Pepper bras.... because... I was slapped with shapely nubian beautiful AA,A,B,C cup... I dunno the difference... but I enjoyed that part of your video. UA-cam algorithm got it right! Pepper isn't in your affiliate links... but you could ask them for a sample... they'll have one to fit you I'm sure! Oh and the pulsing Fuji.... I want one.
LOL kasey this probably your most helpful post ever
Gerald would not approve of you referring to the Zeiss Lens at 'T2' haha.
You're the best
It's so thin, she said. Get a bigger one she also said 😂🤣
I like your cable management! Man, that 55 Zeiss is magical. Just get that 24 GM! Why do you think 25 Zeiss got cheaper?
I have to say I like your chair.
Minimum build with a $600 light?
In 6 months you're gonna have a kicker or hair light and see how much better your shot looks and talk about how stupid this video was. That's what I love about you! LOL
Great lighting. Gerald Undone sees this he may dopy by for a cable management intervention.
New host would make your videos so much better. JK!! Thanks for sharing nice setup dig the lighting
I do love your channel. Funny and yet informative. What a blend ❤️️
Question. Is the SIRUI the 'stick' you walk out with? For instance, your R6/15-35mm review... was that done using your SIRUI?
Sirui or the Nebula.
dynamic mics reject even more room reverberation, you should try one with high treble response. Of course a noiseless preamp is required. No crappy Focusrite shite.
ua-cam.com/video/afXQ9vqmx4I/v-deo.html
I especially like your minimalist starfish of computer cables that hang in front of your printer...
Feeling a bit attacked by your RGB background lights comment tho...
The little Gator mic boom arm in your video has two segments. The Gator arm in your Amazon link has one segment. You should link to the 16 inch clamp arm, not the 9 inch one.
You can't link that one for some reason or I would have. The link still goes to where you can choose the 16 inch one if you want it.
@@cameraconspiracies Aha! Strange. I just wanted to point it out for others since I clicked through and almost bought the wrong one.
Funny made me laugh! Poor Fuji! Lol
Woo hoo!
you could jimmy-rig thumb tacks or duck tape some white bed sheets on your wall and let your light bounce off from there.
but you are more respectable this way with ur set up even tho us hobo viewers won't see it behind the camera.
Only thing missing is a accent light for the eagle! Maybe something red?
I'm interested in you audio setup - but don't understand it. I'd appreciate more detail and how you incorporate/edit it.
Thumps up for your map!!!
imagine still believing in "up"
@@markifi Haha 😁
How tiny are you to make that aeron chair look so huge?
สวัสดี Very enlightening and informative and funny!
You forgot the excellent middle of your Studio -> You
I feel you. My wife would divorce me if I turned our bedroom into a studio. Tripod, camera, mic, little light. Simple.
Hey bud Sony user here switching to Fuji XT4 Kit lens 18 to 55mm. Have you test this lens? They said it has good AF
Paint one wall white for $20 or a new fancy kickass light for several hundred $. 🤔
New light!
I wish Audient would make an in-line preamp like the cloudlifter, their preamps are gold.
@UCt_XMGy20mIncpQHEg5gqOg I know but cable-management wise it wouldn‘t be as clean as something like the fethead/cloudlifter + I would like to go via XLR into my interface. Do you know if the audient ID4 mkii needs to be connected to a pc or can you just connect the usbc to a power brick?
@@owlmostdead9492 id4 ii can't output signal without the brain which is the software running on pc or Mac
@@frankluo230 That sucks, well Audient needs to make an inline preamp
compaing a youtuber to a startrek security guard is like saying there are unicorns in heaven
Super Bokeh Bros is coming back baby 👍😎👍
Cool set-up. NEW QUESTION: (So don't get snippy) ;) - Olympus Em5 Mk3, Em1 Mk2, OR Panasonic G95? Hiking and vlogging, so smaller is good. Hoping to future proof a little, so thinking something a little better than the super bargain G85. I like the size of the Em5 mk3 and the video quality of the G95. Thought about the G9, but it is getting too expensive, is even bigger than the G95... and does it really offer much more? Anyway, be good to hear your thoughts. Hoping to pull the trigger on something in about 6 weeks. Binge-watching your vids is getting me through the lockdown.
Are you planning to vlog while hiking? You may be underestimating the G85. Its a little smaller and lighter and cheaper.
@@dkeberhard Yep. I'm aware of how good it is - but things have moved on. It is a difficult choice. Go bigger with G95/G9 and have much superior dynamic range, Or go smaller/lighter (EM5) and have less good video in 1080... but better autofocus and stab. The price of G85 is very hard to ignore though. Just worried I'll get it and wish I'd waited, saved a bit more money, and got something better. The price difference between the G85 and 95 gets closer every day and makes the 95 look like better value.
@@dkeberhard Yep you might be right. Looking a little deeper I'm thinking the other cameras don't really have significant advantages over the G85 and apart from the Olympus, they just get bigger and heavier AND a lot more expensive.
being illuminated by nothing but fire would be great.
Kasey the RF lenses just got more expensive by around a 100 bucks on their ✌️pro✌️ lenses. Say something about it in your next vid PLEASE!!!!!!!!! OR just mock them for doing it😂
Regards from Poland 😉
Any suggestions for a one camera setup for me??!! **I shoot Macro & Motor-cross** [JOKES] ... Love every upload please don't stop. :)
The Fuji dimmer switch is obviously faulty, I have a spare one if you want it, no charge.
nice, compact and easy to use set up compare to mine... lol I have those cheap large softbox which are a pain in the A** to put together but have a great soft light so... poor fuji, If only you finally learn how to expose manually.. :p lol
Unfortunately this set up would not work for me😂🤣😂 I have a channel that involves shaving in front of a mirror.
My current set up is
1 x Sony ZV1 camera
2 x Pixel G1S RGB LED light panels
1 x Zoom H1N
3 x Fat Gecko suction cup mounts
I also own a Canon 5D Mk4, a Fuji XT3 and a Ricoh Gr2
shoutout to flat earth Santa!
All you need is an eagle in the background that you got from value village
So Casey ! I see you believe in cable management ! 😂 if I was your girl , I’d leave you just for that ! You need some rode wireless Go’s in your life ! 🦄
He doesn't want the radiation beaming into his body.
still waiting for the 'cinematic' girlfriend video .. vid or the girlfriend never actually exist
Switching every 5 seconds does work though, have you ever Seen Baby Einstein, they had it figured out!
heyyyy I have a pink wall 😛😂 but it’s bc it goes with my grown up art, I swear! (no I’m not a youtuber and yes my soft box is too huge)
LOL, you TWSS yourself. Takes a brave man 😅
What chair is that?
Over $600 US for a single lightly? My goodness, show us how to get the same result for $200. 👍 That would be great!
I did, in this video lol. The Colbor.
Lighting is all about control the amount, direction, softness and the area where you want the light to hit. As Markus pix demonstrated, multiple smaller lights better than one big one.
I watch 2x when im stresssed and need time but I never commit the sin of playing music at any other speed than 1
Love that light. One issue is that the window light was also in the mix, so the X-T4 was trying to figure out which light to use for exposure. Maybe get a more opaque shade of some kind instead of the shear curtains.
Kasey should have just manually exposed the B cam. Easy peasy.
@@JohnDrummondPhoto Yeah.....but, was it intentional? His videos are so funny and ripping on the Fuji once in a while is part of that. LOL!! :-) Love his vids....
@@charliejg sometimes it's hard to tell because Kasey constantly reminds us he knows nothing! Any camera would struggle with auto-exposure with that backlight. But yeah, his ripping on various cameras for one thing or another is pretty funny, and I'm a loser photographer who shoots Canon. 😂
To downgrade the lighting to a more minimalist UA-cam hobo setup, try hanging some white fabric to the wall and then projecting a desk lamp on to the fabric, I’m not sure if it would be any good, but should be fairly cheap to try
Just buy a white flag so when people see it, you can easily explain that you gave up on Panasonic rather than saying you're a UA-camr hobo and a loser photographer
he's started the video using an expensive Sony A7Siii and a $500 light. How is this minimalist? I used to watch his vlogs from Thailand all the time and he was using a Sony x3000 and a Panasonic G85 using the light that came into his apartment (or out on the streets) and those were outstanding videos all the time!
(I use 2 Godox LEDP260C Bi-Color LED Light Panels (90 each) mounted on two cheap light stands and a GX 85 with a Rokinon 12 mm lens (2.0). For audio I use a H1N plugged into my computer and all funneled thru OBS.)
LMAO!!! OMG! So hilarious!
Can you make decent looking video with a phone, in your studio apartment, with light and a microphone?
Or a Gopro, with light and a mic?
@@MX-CO once you got light and mic sorted, camera and lens really don't matter all that much.
@@frankluo230 just wondering if there is a reason to get a camera, or just use a phone if you have good lighting and a mic?
@@MX-CO depending on whether you just vlog or sitting down talk, headshot or demonstrate a product. Any tool can do the job but dedicated camera workflow is easy to adapt and adjust. Phones can be cumbersome if you want to edit footage
I'm looking to make some talking head, documentary typ videos, with some live streaming and b-roll
Use a microphone that plugs into your $4,000 camera that would reduce some crap.
Only with super wide lens though. How can he get good audio with Zony 55mm magic
Oh yeah buddy, that looks minimalistic AF. LOL
