      Yeah, same kind of logic on his Vegetable Police channel. He’s given me lots of laughs in the past, soo many - on both of his channels. But lately I’m starting to just facepalm at his logic, and wonder why I’m still watching and subscribed. It’s been slightly off for me ever since he’s started doing more productive reviews. I don’t know...maybe he’s trying to hard? On his VP channel, we see his health journey, but he’s been slamming others still on his ‘old’ diets, and it’s like, dude they’re on their own health journey as well. It’s not cool to slam them just cuz it didn’t work for you. I dunno...maybe I’ve just run my course with him. I keep hoping he’ll go back to his older ‘less angsty’ style against others. 😞

    My cursory search for info found: Radiation that actually causes issues, could potentially cause cancer, etc., is usually ionizing radiation. It has a very high frequency and can cause mutations in DNA, possibly leading to cancer. The frequency required to be ionizing? At least 1,000,000 GHz. That is literally a 500,000 times higher frequency than what Wi-Fi transmits on, 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz. Non-ionizing radiation, which Wi-Fi falls under, does little more than transfer heat. The WirelessGo uses 2.4 GHz. Seems legit.

    • @davipt
      @davipt 4 роки тому +6

      Chad Johnson exactly. Complaining about radiation is as factual as flat earthers and moon landing deniers and anti vaccine people. Sad. Not gonna stop liking this channel but when Kassey comes with this kind of ridiculous argumentation it makes me quite sad.

      research-in test tubes, animals, and humans-has been mixed, with no definitive proof that cell-phone radiation harms human health, but also unable to completely clear it of any potential risk.
      The research into the RF signals used with WiFi is even more preliminary, focused on lab and animal studies, making it even more difficult to reach firm conclusions about their safety or risk.
      look up consumerReports dotOrg on measures to keep safe.. i mean if they're banning or limiting it in schools it's got to make you think

    • @davipt
      @davipt 4 роки тому +3

      rigby Bucolic read the top comment - “ionising radiation”. This is well defined and even if there were any doubt of what levels and periods of radiation would be dangerous, mobile networks and Wi-Fi and “technology” around us are many many orders of magnitude smaller. In the worst case scenario just don’t spend a whole day right in front of a mobile cell antenna. But with energy reducing by somewhere between the square and the cube of the distance (as the antennas are directional) even just a metre away is already way less dangerous.
      I did my research. I’ve worked on a mobile operator and had access to all the data, even any potential data that could potentially not come out if any were true. I no longer have any binding to defend them so there is zero reason for me to lie or hide anything. Basically the conclusion was to turn the cell off when in maintenance, and stay away from a FWA beam, which is highly focused and can easily kill a bird crossing it. But a phone, nothing to worry. If the phone were transmitting at maximum power continuously, the battery would be going down fast and dying in just some dozen of minutes.

      I worked on fire control radar in the Navy (used to aim the weapons). It was around the 4Ghz range and way more power than anything we use in our homes. The Navy was convinced it was the only radar it was okay to walk in front of when it was on and the science suggested it wouldn't cause issues except, as you say, heat!

    • @davipt
      @davipt 4 роки тому +2

      Business Outside The Lines - w/Chuck Peavey that’s a good example. It’s the product of the frequency, the transmitting power, and the area (omni vs. directional vs. point focus), times time, that matters. Not just “it emits radiation” or the latest wave of “5G is bad because it’s higher frequency”. I mean, the Earth is also flat when looked at short distances. LOL.

    Bluetooth isn’t “super powered wifi”, it’s underpowered wifi. Bluetooth uses about 1/10 the power of wifi, and Bluetooth LE (rev 5) uses even less still (but that transmission is only used for maintaining connections, not actual transfer of data/sound, but the Apple Watch uses LE for most of what it does). Then on top of that, cell signals use about 10x the power of wifi. So on that scale, all the while, constantly, there is FM, AM, cell tower, and all manner of other radiations currently passing through your body all the time at power levels Much greater than Bluetooth, and typically even greater than sitting in the same room as a wifi router.
    All that is to say...most of what we do aside from holding a cell phone against our heads while on an active call, hardly has any effect on the amount of radiation we’re already subject to.
    Even if it did matter, which it doesn’t so much, since cell phone and wifi radiation is non-ionizing, which means it’s weakly interacting low energy electrons. Compared to UV and X-ray radiation, which is ionizing and strongly interacts with/damages cells. So put on a sun hat, use speakerphone, and you’ll probably be just fine.

      @@shammyh Radio wave are radiation, but they not nuclear or ionizing radiation such as gamma rays, X-rays, higher frequency ultraviolet light. Nor are they microwaves or infra-red light. However, radio waves can, like microwaves induce heating. However, they would have to be generated at high enough power and they lose power in accordance to the inverse square law.
      That said, your point that people shouldn't confuse ionizing radiation, or the more biologically harmful frequencies/power of the wide electromagnetic spectrum with low power radiowaves bears repeating. Mind you, I wouldn't want to sit next to an active cell phone tower for anything more than a few minutes.

    • @uncleelias
      @uncleelias 4 роки тому +1

      @UCe_3sFV6IoSOLHYunULRibw Yes, and RF waves can be harmful at strong enough power. They can induce heating. But for the most part, we don't encounter that amount of radiowave energy even sitting next to an old CRT TV.
      The EMF bomb is a nuclear device which generates a powerful wideband pulse of electro-magnetic energy which include radio waves. That interacts with electronic equipment and upsets the timings and can cause overloads of various components. But shielding is fairly simple so the concept is more or less obsolete from a military perspective, but it can still affect infrastructure. As an example, solar storms... which are pulses of atoms and nuclear particles from the sun can cause cause havoc with radiowaves and unprotected electrical systems.

      Camera Conspiracies “7 feet or so” this is a joke, right? This entire video must be a troll. You can use the 5Ghz band to send a usable video signal over 200 meters LOS no problem with the equivalent power output of most consumer WiFi routers. Most condos and apartment complexes are channel saturated on the 2.4 and 5Ghz bands. This isn’t even considering any 700Mhz or 300Mhz channels kicking around you. If you’ve flown on an airplane even once in your life you’ve been exposed to more RF AND ionizing radiation than you’d ever get from that little Bluetooth device in a lifetime. If you step outside you’re getting blasted by tons more RF from that evil ball in the sky called the Sun. I dunno what you’ve been reading, but it’s extra wrong and doesn’t even fall into the realm of real physics.

    there are powerful radio waves surrounding you at all times from 20ghz doing all manner of things from allowing radio communication around the world, to wifi, to bluetooth, to multiband cellular telephone and data services, to satellite phone and radio, to terrestrial tv broadcast, to various environmental monitoring services to gps relays to ads-b airplane and boat tracking (mandatory beacons to help air and sea traffic control), to radio control of traffic control devices (lights), public cameras for both crime monitoring and ticketing systems for cars, etc. all of this stuff is FCC regulated for interference between licensed frequency bands and all of it uses non-ionizing radiation that has been proven time and time again to be non-harmful to animals (including humans). we've been using radio for well over 100 years now and the technology is pretty well understood. - in fact, all electronics sold in the US go through rigorous testing by the FCC to ensure that it specifically does NOT put out any ionizing radiation that could be harmful to animals (including humans) unless the device is specifically designed to do so (such as x-ray machines and other scientific and medical apparatus) and such devices are heavily regulated and require special licensing in order to obtain and operate.
    Please note, I don't mean to be a troll, I very much enjoy your content (particularly your camera reviews, comparisons, and evaluations, thank you!), but fearmongering over science that the general public doesn't seem to fully grock but has been scientifically understood for quite a long time should not go without commentary imho.

    1) Put some black tape over the logo, or color it black with a marker. 2) Wear a proper shirt with a collar and pocket, clip the mic to the inside of your pocket. 3) Use a lavalier plugged to it. Prob best for you since you are outside so much. You need that wind muff. But the convenience of these are the ability to quickly mic up yourself or others, without the wires. I'm using the Comica now, and will probably get the Hollyland Lark system. I've used Sony wireless for 10 years, but it feels old and clunky now.

    I love you Kasey. Before a google search i thought it was a stupid conversation the effects of non ionizing radiation on the human body, but i see it is a somewhat controversial topic even among engineers; i study electrical and electronics engineering and one of my telecom teachers had negative thougths about it, even after working for decades on that field, even tho hes fine, and on the things ive looked up i dont think it does damage, and if it does it not that much, surely not more than the conservatives and pesticides healthy foods can have. And that only happens with things with antennas, the pc on the desk wont radiate stuff other than infrared (or heat), and tv remotes havent killed me yet... maybe bc doctors havent seen my thyroid aids...
    That being said, industries do hide a lot in the name of profits, so hopefully the radiation concerns are just exaggerations and everything its fine, but if i have learned something is this... in the telecom world... fuck wireless lol; it loses its shit, needs batteries, costs more, its harder to set up and its less cybersecure, if you really dont need wireless theres not much point in using it... long live cables and the camera conspiracies!

    Literally finished recording with the Rode Wireless Go and was uploading my video whilst I watched this. It's the most fun and convenient thing ever, sure I look like a Rode shill because I haven't bought a lav mic to pair with it yet, but it's so easy, and easy makes it fun. The audio quality is more than good enough. I love how quick it makes recording videos without screwing around with the mic out of shot like I used to do when I was a chump.
    If mobile phone radiation was that bad, then how come we haven't had a brain cancer epidemic yet? They've been everywhere since the late 90s 🤷🏽‍♂️ I'm still waiting for the human population to be taken out by this stuff, so I can become a cyborg and ditch this weak and terrible body.
    If I was you I'd be more worried about the infra-red radiation from your instapot, that goes directly into your food! How can your veggies be healing when they're cooked with radiation?
