I grew up with this movie. I don't care how many people hated it, its one of the reasons I'm taking 2d animation in university. This movie has a special place in my heart.
I might have liked it if I was younger but sadly I have seen it in my teen years and didn't like it much. the only saving grace is this exact song. The villains always have the best songs.
According to Don Bluth's memoir, when Cloris Leachman showed up to record her lines she instantly started snatching all the crew members' takeout burgers and fries, tossing them in the trash and lecturing the hell out of them on healthy eating. And that, Bluth says, is why she was so perfect for the character.
Oh it is, Bluth's worst. And yet that song is just fantastic. I actually like the lyrics because it is about a villain lavishing in being evil, and those songs are always fun.
+Augusto Franco Well, I do agree with him that in Quest for Camelot the villain song is atrocious. Nothing against Gary Oldman but the melody is abysmal.
BladeBlur Nostalgia Critic is a dick. Not Don Bluth's best, but I've seen worse movies. Still would rather watch this than some of the garbage that's released nowadays.
As a fellow animator, I admire Don Bluth's artistic style but I was never a big fan of his storytelling. Nevertheless, the villain songs in his movies due the artwork justice.
Stanley has positive energy because he can grow flowers and Gnorga has negative energy because she can turn anything she touches into stone. That is the symbolism of this movie.
hey, I have an idea...what if the Queen's husband, with him being far less evil than other trolls, (lol),... what if he is actually one of the good trolls and is actually an inside informer? letting plans of Gnorga leak out to the good ones, giving them a chance to run or hide? just an idea I had for awhile.
I maybe wrong about this but it is interesting to see that King Lort is at least a LITTLE bit nicer towards Stanley. I mean it was HIS idea to banish Stanley to a place of rock and steel where nothing grows so I guess could argue he already knows that turned to stone by Gnorga would be a much worser fate for Stanley and that by banishing Stanley to a place of rock and steel where nothing grows was the only way to save him from ending up in the hands of Gnorga. So I think in a way, Lort is kind of the hero when u really think about it.
i literally grew with this film as many of us did, watched before school, after school.....realizing it was Cloris as gnorga makes me beyond happy, idk why except Cloria was amazing, glad to see she jumped on the animation bandwagon

People Yzma was Eartha Kitt This is Cloris Leachman Two different women and roles that were played wonderful and respectful by the actress who played them.
Yzma and Gnorga both wear purple, and they're both from different movies. Gnorga is from _A Troll in Central Park,_ and Yzma is from _The Emperor's New Groove._
Say what you want about Don Bluth's films in a negative light, you can never deny how so bad it's funny this song is along with Tim Curry's song in Pebble and the Penguin.
This movie was amazing and still is. Just a shame that Don Bluth was rushed on making it. It would have been a lot longer and more plot behind it. Still a wonderful movie.
This movie really isn't that bad. There are certainly much worse animated films out there. However, it is definitely the weakest of Bluth's (Pebble And The Penguin doesn't count because Bluth himself disowned it) and I think it's because he was trying to do something less dark and more traditionally kid friendly and he simply didn't know how. He learned by the time he did Anastasia, but on this one he was still figuring it out.
No it isn't. If you are at all familiar with the original Anderson story, you'd know that it's even more random and silly than Bluth's version that actually improved it significantly. We can debate whether or not Thumbelina is a good story to begin with, but Bluth's film is an excellent adaptation of it. Tell me, why is it that Frozen gets tons of undeserved praise when it's nothing like The Snow Queen (despite allegedly being based on it) but Thumbelina gets tons of undeserved hatred for being faithful to the story when most animated fairy tales are not?
bartsimpson83 Huh I didn't know that about Thumblenia if that's your opinion than okay and I actually kind of agree with you on that (Though there are a few tweaks that could make it better)
What I liked about Cloris Leachman’s Gnorga is that she has that deliciously wicked voice of Ursula, the stylish wardrobe of Yzma and an insane cackling laugh of Cruella De Vil that just rings in your ear and that she just relishes in just being despicable. Plus her villain song though not the best well written or right up there like Poor Unfortunate Souls or Be Prepared but it’s still pretty catchy and badass and the orchestration is kickass.
Wow... so many memories from this movie. This was way back in the day when 2D was (and still is IMO) the shit! Wow. Thanks for this man! Gnorga was the meanest bitch around!
The only good things I can say with this movie is some of the scenes look pretty well design, the Kingdom of Trolls, and the only good song is this! But besides that, heck this movie!
Can anyone else imagine Bette Midler playing the voice of Gnorga and singing this song??? She was so AMAZING as Winifred Sanderson in "Hocus Pocus" and singing "I Put a Spell on you", that I know she could play this role and sing this song no problem.
JayThe Mann Oh, the Great Goblin! He is not the Balrog, though. The Balrogs are a race of demons that roam around Middle Earth, one of them appears in the LOTR movies and novels in the caves of Moria. I wonder though, do you know him from the movies or the books, because in the movies he's a tad badly represented.
Finally, everyone forgot Descendants and remembered the REAL Queen of Mean.
Absolutely
Mr. Levy. 🎉.

+Luke Garner AMEN
+Luke Garner Mine would probably be Be Prepared from Lion King. another question: what's your least favorite villain song?
+Luke Garner I didn't like it because hell was in the title and I wasn't allowed to that word. but it's not my least favorite, it's mad madam mim
GoNuts ForJoNuts These 2d movies are ALWAYS better!! Look at how many people love Disney's old classics!
Cloris Leachman voiced her? Perfect!
Wow 😮
That's ironic, considering she was also Grizelda, the Witch in Hansel and Gretel 😅😅
Levy mg. 😂
I don't care if NC hates this movie, this song is the best part of it.
Oh it is, Bluth's worst. And yet that song is just fantastic. I actually like the lyrics because it is about a villain lavishing in being evil, and those songs are always fun.
***** Yeah! Villain songs are always guaranteed to be the best part in anything, no matter how bad it is!
I would really would want to upgrade and jazz-ize it
" No face shall smile"
...she says while smiling
No face shall smile exept herself.... Beacause she is the Queen Of Mean
Axl CritiK What about her minions who are all smiling during various parts of the song?
there's a difference between smiling from being happy and from enjoying cruelty.
Mckenzie .Latham Enjoying causes happiness...she is smiling because her cruelty makes her happy. There is little difference.
Well, she did say, "No word be true, no rule be fair"
0:36 - 0:50 . Oh boy that needs a lot of air, Cloris Leachman did a stellar job for that alone.
As a fellow animator, I admire Don Bluth's artistic style but I was never a big fan of his storytelling. Nevertheless, the villain songs in his movies due the artwork justice.
Well I find his storytellings of his movies interesting I don't see anything wrong with his films
I had adored his artwork with the characters.
Evil Queen. 😢.
My childhood, one of my favorite.
I miss this film, used to have a giant disk of it.
Cloris Leachman is so amazing
Definitely read that as "Gonorrhea: the Queen of Trolls."
lmao!!! same here lol
It'd explain the warts.
What the heck.....!? The mind goes to some weird places for people.
With three mirrors shattered, the minions who hold them had to pile on top of each other until Gnorga burns the last one to ash.🤣🤣😂😂😂
That poor bat. He was just flying by.
+The Wannabe I agree but he also stick his tongue out to her so he made her mad ^__^"
Жестоко е да се убиват животни
R.I.P. Dom Deluise and Charles Nelson Reilly
R.I.P. Cloris Leachman
R.I.P. Will Ryan
Maylin Manson should make his goth interpretation of this classic :-D That would seriously kick ass.
Sohave OMG YESS
Lmaoo
Stanley has positive energy because he can grow flowers and Gnorga has negative energy because she can turn anything she touches into stone. That is the symbolism of this movie.
Yeah. Stanley has a green thumb and Gnorga has a black thumb
Not just that, but she place curses, destroy areas, and turn a human into a troll controlling their thumb in the process.
I love Flowers 👍🏼💚✨ Stanley is better than Gnorga is nasty and evil.
*S U B T L E .*
Cloris Leachman, goddamn what a talent.
Cloris Leachman has always been one of my favorite movie stars because she's so funny.
Idky but I'm getting a weird Hocus Pocus vibe from this
LOL
Except Hocus Pocus is far superior
SnakeStaffMagic I like both equally
hey, I have an idea...what if the Queen's husband, with him being far less evil than other trolls, (lol),...
what if he is actually one of the good trolls and is actually an inside informer? letting plans of Gnorga leak out to the good ones, giving them a chance to run or hide?
just an idea I had for awhile.
Well, the ending did say that Llort took over after Gnorga was beaten and the trolls were much happier.
Well he could be secretly planning her downfall like having Stanley be banished instead of being turned into stone as part of his plan.
I like this movie for its visual appeal and comedic moments
Not to mention this villainess
Happy Halloween
Man, I am diggin' that drumbeat! Probably one of my favorite villain songs of all time, in terms of sheer catchiness.
Poor minions. They always freak out every time they see Gnorga come walking down the stairs.
They should have made this movie about her.
Someday you might get your wish
A movie about who? Hillary Clinton?
KodytheRedFox Stop being a little bitch.
This movie always got me on a disturbed mood... and it still does.
Love “have no doubt about my clout” she was the OG influencer
Gnorga is cruel, vile, chaotic and negative - because she's pure evil! She hates flowers and happy faces.
And she got what she deserves at the end!
Yeah. Queen of Posies.
Hahahahahaha😂
Maria Posada, on the other hand, is beautiful, pretty, nice and positive - because she’s pure good! She likes flowers and happy faces.
Hercules. ❤
i literally grew with this film as many of us did, watched before school, after school.....realizing it was Cloris as gnorga makes me beyond happy, idk why except Cloria was amazing, glad to see she jumped on the animation bandwagon

my dear, you are breaking your own law
Nobody can smile EXCEPT for herself.
She also said "no rule be fair" so
no matter the movie, the villain's number is always the best one in the film.
Underrated Villain-Gnorga
I gotta say that song is pretty catchy.
"I'm so animalistic,
to be cannibalistic
Bad is rad and I'm ballistic, woo-hoo!"- Doug Walker/Nostalgia Critic.
msmissjordan1 I came here to type the same shit, fuck you! (playfully though, not in an assholish way)
msmissjordan1
lol
***** (Ok, understood) Muahaha I beat ya to it!
Shamrock 298 IKR?
what dose dat mean????
Childhood nostalgia overload!
"wow, Lindsay Lohan really let herself go!"
in all honesty, I like this song.
"Whoa, Lindsay Lohan really let herself go, didn't she"
- Doug Walker/Nostalgia Critic
"No face shall smile"
*proceeds to smile through out the entire song*
Jadis from Narnia likes this song
That’s what I said. Lucy and Susan Pevensie resurrect Aslan from his grave and helped him to rid Narnia of Jadis for good.
This movie gave me persistent nightmares years 3 - 5 and watching it now I am not sure that I ever truly recovered
poor little bat
This is probably my favorite part of the movie.
In my kingdom
No flower shall grow
No face shall smile
No star shall glow
No heart shall care
No word be true
No rule be fair
I promise you
Touch our queen and turn into stone
Touch our queen and turn into stone
Touch our queen and turn into stone
Touch our queen and turn into stone
It feels delicious
To be so vicious
I'm Gnorga, the queen of mean
Mean
It's so delightful
To be so spiteful
I'm Gnorga, the queen of mean
If I choose, I'll destroy and demolish
Arrest and abolish every troll I've known
Stand in my way, and you'll stand there forever
Because I'll turn you into stone
(Stone)
I'm the queen of mean
(She's the queen of mean)
I'm the meanest queen you've ever seen
(The meanest queen)
You should have no doubt about my clout
I'm (She's) the queen of mean
Touch our queen and turn into stone
Touch our queen and turn into stone
It's simply yummy
To be so crummy
I'm Gnorga, the queen of mean
Mean
I'm so grateful
To be so hateful
I'm Gnorga, the queen of mean
Mean
When I want, I will pillage and plunder
Bellow and thunder
Make you shake and moan
Get in my way and I'll get you forever
Because I'll turn you into stone
(Stone)
I'm the queen of mean
(She's the queen of mean)
I'm the meanest queen you've ever seen
(The meanest queen)
You should have no doubt about my clout
I'm (She's) the queen of mean
Touch our queen and turn into stone
Touch our queen and turn into stone
Absolutely the queen, the queen
I'm the queen of mean
(She's the queen of mean)
I'm the meanest queen you've ever seen
(The meanest queen)
You should have no doubt about my clout
I'm the queen of mean
Unh! Ah! Unh! Ah!
Turn into stone
Uh! Uh! Uh!
Stone
I love her husband's facial expressions!
I admit I love the bit where she goes through the various mirrors and each one reflects a different face^^
Big chill!
This should be British prime minister Theresa May's theme song.
KodytheRedFox 😂😂
Elizabeth May for Canada, AOC, that one british feminist from the news recently
First time I watched this movie, I was laughing through this entire song. I just couldn't take it seriously.
That's because you weren't meant to.
Gnorga is an underrated and funny villain.
this song deserves an awesome metal cover.. luv it.. !
The original queen of mean. ;)
Happy 30th Anniversary To A Troll In Central Park (1994-2024)
This sounds like a song my teacher would sing.
The song is - ok, and it is pretty catchy. But HOLY CRAP THE DRUM BEATS ARE AMAZING!
We need a remake with thunderclaps and a choir.
Cats don’t dance. The emperor’s new groove. 😊
I never seen this before, I’m being exposed to this 100% out of any context.
Holy shit, i am terrified.

"noone will smile" she says while smiling. Classic politician.
This movie was amazing and still is. Just a shame that Don Bluth was rushed on making it. It would have been a lot longer and more plot behind it.
Still a wonderful movie.
Amazing, I finally found someone like me who actually enjoys this movie! High five!
I loved it growing up tbh

I don't remember it well, but that would explain Rocka-doodle-doo as well. honestly the worst animated movie I've ever seen is Fantastic Mr. Fox
Part of it's problem was that it got little to no advertisement as well
I'd say Thumbelina is by FAR his worst. At least this one is kind of a guilty pleasure. Thumbelina was a painful pile of horseshit.
No it isn't. If you are at all familiar with the original Anderson story, you'd know that it's even more random and silly than Bluth's version that actually improved it significantly. I Love How the Guards Change.
omg my memories is back
I do my makeup to this song when I'm going out for the night. 😁
What did your parents say?
Before Gnasty Gnorc, there was Gnorga... honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Gnorga is Gnorc's mother.
Yes. Spyro defeated Gnasty Gnorc in Spyro the Dragon (PlayStation game). Dragons rule. Gnorcs drool.
I never really liked this movie, but I love this song. Villians, man, they always get the best musical numbers.
Cloris Leachman is awesome

It's telling that the only likable character in this movie is the villain.
Just a head's up, that's usually a movie's death sentence.
I agree. Gnorga and Llort were at least bearable, and funny in their own right. Stanley and the kids....
CJCroen1393 I found Stanley very likable. The film itself is a guilty pleasure; I know it sucks but it's still adorable and I do really like it.
Not always. Sleeping Beauty had a pile of awful people and the beautiful mistress of all evil, crowning fae jewel of that movie, Maleficent.
@@TheMovieDoctorfulI found Stanley sooo adorable and sweet. 😊
While the film was bad, really BAD, this song was great! Proof that this film actually could have been grest.
It came out back in around 1994 I think
R.I.P. Dom Deluise and Charles Nelson Reilly R.I.P. Cloris Leachman
Is the lipstick in the beginning from The Little mermaid? Ursula did the same thing if I record correctly
I remember i used to watch with my friend whenever i went to her house. Another non-Disney classic.
Boy, Lindsay Lohan really let herself go, didn't she? - Doug Walker/Nostalgia Critic
She doesn't look much like Lindsey
Screw him
Imagine if Shade and Goth found out what happened to their cousin in the troll kingdom
Happy 30th Anniversary, A Troll in Central Park!!!
I Love this Movie, This Song Is The Best.
Who else thinks this song deserves to be in a better movie
That makes an non-disney villan a fashion icon
When I was a kid watching this Gnorga was my favourite character. She was so rad and funny, the protagonists were kind of tame.
This Movie Should've been On Blu-Ray
I have always loved this song the most out of the film xxx
Can anyone else imagine Bette Midler playing the voice of Gnorga and singing this song??? She was so AMAZING as Winifred Sanderson in "Hocus Pocus" and singing "I Put a Spell on you", that I know she could play this role and sing this song no problem.
watching this while im older and i have the same response, Poor bat ;(
The turtle reminds me of Spike from The Land Before Time.
The one good song in the movie: not by any means original, but it is pretty catchy!
I forgot about this movie and I had it on vhs, a real classic. ;D
Seeing this now I realize how time flies :(
>_>
I wasn't sure until she put on the black dress.
i love this song no i love the entire movie. i was only 5 when this came out and i still remember every word
Great villain song!
+Elisa Huberman Not bad for an opening number but Cloris Leachman has a little bit of show stopping quality in her voice
Who else thinks she would have readily married Bahlrog the Goblin king?
Who's that?
He's a character from The Hobbit
JayThe Mann Oh, the Great Goblin! He is not the Balrog, though. The Balrogs are a race of demons that roam around Middle Earth, one of them appears in the LOTR movies and novels in the caves of Moria.

Scenes like this are the reason that I like most villians better than the hero's.
Now this is the real pokiemain.
Anyone else here after Descendants 3?
Yoooo, that's my mother The Queen of Mean!! STONE!!!
There should be more amvs to this song, I only know of one
i love this movie ! :)
