what is the difference between ultra and HX8 ??
They're both fully synthetic, so it all comes down to what car you have.
HX8 are more suited to newer and smaller cars and are better on emission control than the Ultra (Hence ECT).
The Ultra on the other hand, is more suited to heavier vehicles with high-performance engines ( 2.0 or up).

@@aziz9a3 That’s some very wrong information. Shell Helix HX8 is manufactured using d conventional method of creating Fully Synthetic oil while ultra is made from natural gas(pureplus technology) which makes the oil even purer n free of contaminants hence d higher price point. HX8 can be used in all engine sizes. As long as u use the recommended viscosity by yr vehicle manufacturer, you’ll be fine. HX8 is also certified by Mercedes Benz, MB229.3/MB229.5. Bottom line is both r great oils n offer similar protection. However, if u plan to use yr car in extreme condition like a race track, you’re better of with ultra.

Get rid if this oil. Louder engine us a big problem IMO. Bad batch of production, making low film strenght psi.
