This year's inktober is so good!! Your art literally gets better every year (TT)
Also, I'm just a big fan of Japanese folklore. There's another version of Oiwa's tale where even Oume and her grandfather were into the plan. Instead of pushing Oiwa off a cliff when the poison wasn't enough to kill her, Iemon sent a friend to assault and kill her, thus giving him enough reason to leave her. The friend couldn't do it and instead shows Oiwa her disfigurement using a mirror (she didn't know what was happening to her face as they were so poor, they couldn't afford a mirror). Taken by anger and anguish, Oiwa cuts her neck with a katana that the man was carrying, cursing Iemon until her dying breath. So that no one else would know of the horrible tale, Iemon kills his friend. He then nails his corpse along with Oiwa's to wooden boards to float along the river.
The wedding part is also the same although in addition to Oume's death, Iemon also kills her grandfather. Driven mad by Oiwa's appearances, he flees to the mountains but is still haunted by Oiwa's vengeful ghost. Fortunately by the end of the story, Oiwa's brother finds out and proceeds to kill Iemon. I think Oiwa also played a part in making sure her brother kills Iemon.
That's all! Just an extra bit of information ^^

High key really wanna hear her tackle some indigenous North, Central, and South American folklore this year (especially if it comes from any tribes in the Amazon or north of the Arctic Circle).
Also Aboriginal Australian folklore, that’d be cool too

I'm ot indiginous but Australian! I agree that Aboriginal dreaming stories would be very cool. It would also be good to teach people about aboriginal culture and awareness.

extra info or not so fun fact, Cathryn Howard wanted her execution to look perfect so she actually practiced putting her head on the the thing so she could look beautiful and perfect while dying, but unlike Ann Boleyn they didn't hire a professional and so he cut her on her back (I think, anywhere but her neck) and so all that work she did to try and make herself look beautiful while dying was for nothing cause the executer missed her neck.
I once read that it was rumour that the sword missed her head, as there were no accounts of the death being anything but swift.

Another cool thing I read (idk how accurate it is) is that anne boleyn disliked her uncle Thomas Howard (she thought he was cunning and opportunistic) which is probably why she never met her mother's family (including Cathryn). When Anne was trialed Thomas made sure he did not appear conected to her and sucked up tooo the king too gain his favour. This same grovelling saved him from being prosecuted along with the rest of his family when Henry discovered Catherine's past.
@@ryangee4634 Also to add that he also judged her as guilty when on the jury, granted he had no choice, but still low blows hurt. K Howard was roughly around 13 I believe when Anne Boleyn died so basically the age she started getting groomed.
@KL-ki8db There's so many what if's in poor Cathryn's life it actually makes me go nuts. I know it's strange, considering she's dead, but it's hard not to sympathise when someone is so young and, by all accounts, kind meets such a tragic end. Sometimes, I wonder what her life would've been like if she stayed w another relative or served as maid of honour to another queen before anna. Perhaps she would've gained more experience, or we might know a little bit more about her.

I am a bit late to the party lol, but did you know that the image of Melusine was the inspiration for the Starbucks logo. Next time anyone of you get your Starbuck's cup of Joe, look closely at your cup, and you will see Melusine's two split tails in the upper corners of your cup. And amazing artwork BTW absolutely gorgeous work.
I remember reading about the borley rectory when I was a kid, it was one of my favourite stories along with this one story of a French noblewoman who was beheaded during the French Revolution. I adore your stories and art, keep it up queen 🔥🔥

Btw I believe that Oiwa was pregnant and when her ex husband gave her the medicine he claimed it was pregnancy medicine to help her, since she trusted him she drank it but it turns out it was poison.

if i'm not wrong,Yuki-Onna had a child with a man,she told him that he could never tell her child who it mother is and the man promised her.But then one day he acidently tell the child about Yuki-Onna.That night she came back and that was the last time she ever came back to visit he husband and child,i don't really know what happened after but i don't think she ehem ehem her husband and child.
