- A quick video to show the best way to seat gas checks, in this example I am using Lee 9mm bullets but the process is the same for all calibers. There are other less ways to do it that I don't cover with less than perfect results.
Nice job Dima. Loving my dies. Getting ready to check some Cal for my 300blkout. Thanks again.
Hey man good to see you. Still have not broken out my reloading stuff it's still packed up for storage from where I was going overseas. LoL you do offer great gas check makers. Might call you this week working on a 1.6 mile perimeter fence this summer it's my summer project. Adios
oh fun LOL. I remember when I was putting up short fence in the house that was lost in housing crash of 2008. It was crappy job but I learned something :)
Great video sir I mounted my lubber sizer after we talked great job on your powder coating very nice bullets my friend
I keeping mine for now. When I am pushing them 105gr cast bullets to 1650fps (lyman data), I want to make sure it has plain base gas check. These are pretty fun to shoot since they don't have full magnum recoil but high velocity tears things up.
Slick! Ya, the lubrisizer is the way to go. Hey Dima! How have you been!?
Hi Kenny, I've been slowly grinding away with the dies. Need to talk to you about CNC. I been thinking of building a bolt action (ordering from you, not sure how much you are allowed to do) with Pre fit barrel barrel from x-Caliber. I am thinking of getting custom 24" barrel with medium/light profile in 7.62x40 WT (I would go with 300 HAMR but they don't have it) to be my short range (150yd max) shooter / hunting rifle. I don't know what platform to go with. Savage? Remington? I already got Ruger I don't want low end, something nice with option of getting nice stock from Boyds. What do you think?
@@DimaProk give me a call
@Reloader 308 I like Rem 700 but I hear it's harder to install the barrel. I got one in 221FB and its a beauty and a shooter! I wish I had grandfather like that! That's awesome!
Good to hear from you! Guess I should look for a lubrasizer. I’ve got a new NOE HTC356-130 hp mold ive been using for 9mm but I’d like to try it in 350 legend. Not sure how fast I’ll be pushing it but I may end up needing to gas check it. Hope everything has been going good for you:)
Hey Jeff, i always wondered if you can shoot lighter 9mm bullets out of 350 legend. If I was shopping for new mold I would pick one with actual gas check like Lyman 158gr SWC. Makes me want to buy another gun lol. Right now I got a 140gr plain base MP mold and its 8 cavity!
Great video. I saw a video on Willie Bulletman's channel showing off your gas check makers. I was hoping that I could get in touch with you to order a pair from you please and thank you.
Sure, contact me dimaprokgc@gmail.com
Do you sell this tool to make gas checks for my blackout? I’d love to purchase one for sure!!??
Sorry, I am not taking orders anymore.
I wonder if you ran them upside down in a lee sizing die if it would keep them from ripping?
Yes, but there is a point where if the lead is too hard and you're sizing too much it can still rip.
@@DimaProk Thanks. I’m using 7.5, 11.2 , and 10.5 BH. Pretty soft
@@tripplebeards3427 That should be fine then. You should be able to do it in one go and yes, sizing through the lee sizer - you HAVE to do it upside down.
@@DimaProk thanks good thing I guessed up side down was the way to go..lol. I already powder coated abs sized them. My plan was to install the checks and I might put a tumble coat of clear over them to increase diameter and make sure the checks stay on.
@@tripplebeards3427 You certainly can, but there comes a point where return benefits do not warrant time spent on it. I frankly think that powder coat alone is good enough 9/10 times, but in certain situations you can benefit from flat gas check like when you're pushing a 357 magnum to the max velocity or using pretty soft lead.
I had customers who said they couldn't cure leading problem until they used these gas checks. I came to conclusion if you can get a mold that is cut to take normal gas check I would pick that over flat base. A thicker gas check will handle more pressure.
Where are your gas check makers available to buy at?
Sorry not taking orders now.
Do you sell any of your gas check dies?
Tim Ryan not taking orders indefinitely.
Extremely Depressed about you No Longer making the Gas Check Makers !!!!! I had planned on ordering a few from You !
Secret Squirrel I can make exception if you're willing to wait :) did you contact me through email?
