A father's love, giving his son scotch he hates but at high proof because he likes high proof stuff. 😄
“No peat” then gives him Springbank lmao
to be fair its very lightly pleated? its 12 ppm whereas Ardbeg is around 45-55 ppm. longrow is there more heated whisky..
Mossy brick as a note for Springbank…oddly accurate 😂
“None of the girls are around today”
Except Trenton when he tries peat.
Love the Vernor's reference. Most people outside of Michigan have no idea what it is. It isn't like any other ginger ale.
My dad’s favorite!
It’s popular in Ohio. Drank it all the time while growing up in Cincinnati.
@@brienburke4382 I didn't know it made it that far south. It needs better distribution.
Vernor's = ginger ale in Ohio
available in Calif.
Springbank Distillery has three product lines: the Springbank line is lightly peated, the Longrow line is heavily peated, and the Hazelburn line is the unpeated line.
Trent has his clean t-shirt on 👍
I love American single malt whiskeys
That Bunnahabhain Cask Strength is so good! I found the 2023 for $80. Couldn't believe the price so I had to pick it up
He's the Flash!
Weirdly enough the only scotches I like are the peated ones… as a bourbon and rye lover.
Vernors Ginger Ale is the best!!!!! Great Show as usual!!
Totally agree Springbank 12 is aaaaamazing
nah fam.... you ait getto Trenton.....
great vid Kurt!!!!!
Since we moved to PA.... Zacatecas everywhere........and lightening bugs!!!!!
Vernors baby! My favorite ginger ale!
On a random note after Kurt bragged so on the new Jim Bean 7, I'm going to set up a budget Beam blind for myself. It will feature White Label, Black, Devils Cut, and the new 7. I've drank all but the 7. Of the previous three Devils Cut has been my favorite. I don't mind the old White Label though regardless of the hate it gets.
Vernors is the only ginger ale I'll drink, too. Delicious. Especially with some Tennessee Honey
Have you had Red Breast in anyone of your tastings?
If not, try find one!
I’d bet my old sneakers 😉 you both like it.
Go for the 15 year one, it’s most bang for the buck.
Superb Irish whisky.
That Springbank 12 cask strength is so hard to find. The last time I saw a bottle in a store they wanted $500 for it and that was years ago.
I don't really understand how you can be a hardcore bourbon and rye drinker and not understand also the awesomeness of peated scotch. Cmon Trenton get over yourself and just enjoy the sip! Hug it back! :P
I can understand it, even though I don't agree with it. I always ask people if they enjoy smoked meats and BBQ if they're in question about peated scotch. If you love whiskey AND also love that, then I'm not quite sure how you can hate peated scotch. I can't even drive by a street vendor grilling certain meats while my window is open without immediately having a sense memory of wonderful peated scotch.
Sprinbank is so hefty because of the configuration of the stills, very heavy spirit. Campbelltown funk very evident in that, call it mushroom dank or mossy brick, that's it. Raisins and figs are the best of the Scotch sherry bombs, and that Bunny has something special with the casks they used. The 2022 is even better than the 2023.
I wasn't able to score a 2022 but I get the gist it's a sherry bomb. I can see why a bourbon drinker would prefer the 2023 though with more bourbon and less sherry influence and higher proof.
I’ve got nothing against scotch, but the star of this show has got to be the Vernor’s (did not appear on screen). 😍
LOL Springbank is most definitely peated - not heavily peated, but peated nonetheless.
Good job Trent 😂😂
Bunahobbin is AWESOME!!!
Always love a scotch blind!
Springbank 12 year cask strength is pretty much the unicorn 12 year scotch. I can't think of many others as hard to find in the US.
One year from now Trent will have his own scotch channel
Hey! Springbank is AWESOME!!!
Belgian waffle at Big Wheel was spectacular back in the day

I like the Liberty Pole peated Rye or bourbon. Some peat but not overpowering.
Old Elk still one of my favorite picks.
You should do Silkie Legendary Dark and Brother Justus Single Malt Cold peated.
I would have loved to have seen this filming session. That Springbank 12 is one I tasted there for the first time and fell in ❤
Easy ranking for me: Springbank, Bunnahabhain, Raasay, Old Elk
Japanese tend to use white oak in their distillery process
Springbank is incredible stuff. I’m taking a trip to the UK in August and I’m making a 2 night detour in Campbeltown to do all sorts of Springbank and Kilkerran tastings and blending sessions!
I wonder how Trent would like some of the unpeated or less peated expressions from springbank/Glengyle such as Hazelburn. Or if we’re talking high proof, Kilkerran 8year Sherry cask (cask strength). Funky and coastal, but also a dark fruit bomb.
Just introduced my friend who only seems to enjoy bourbon and rye to scotch with Arran Barrel Reserve, and it was a hit! Springbank and Port Charlotte, my first two attempts, were a big swing and a miss 😂
Thanks for another great video!
Would love to see you guys take a tour of some Scottish distilleries.
Ahhh! Going after Canada Dry?? Best ginger ale
I’m a big fan of the Wee Beastie by Ardbeg.
Springbank is always a great dram.
The only Scottish whisky I've had is Dewar's white label (awful), Glenlivet 12 (pretty good), and Laphroaig 10 (wonderful stuff).
Trenton, you have to learn to like peat. Peat is what separates the men from the boys. 😂
9:51 I've had Vernors ginger ale, and I like to gagged. Canada Dry is astronomically better.
11:05 There are locusts in Albuquerque, but they've never got to this part of town. In the South they're out in force every year, and they're *loud.*
Cicada tacos pretty much just taste like shrimp tacos. Just a fun cicada fact
Never heard of round the clock. I live in Albuquerque, NM. Also great point about waffles being priced crazy
Boo - Springbank is the Bomb
bunna is class
Peat and Repeat fall into Trenton's glass. Peat climbs out. Who's left?

@Kurt, for reference, if it says single malt on the bottle it is not a blend. I don’t think any campbeltown distilleries do any blending. There are IBs that source from campbeltown to make a blend. But not their own expressions, I think.
I think Kurt meant blending in terms of blending casks, rather than blending malts from different distilleries. A lot of distilleries will blend casks of peated and unpeated single malt. I'm not 100% sure if Springbank does this, but other distilleries (e.g. Ardnamurchan, Highland Park, Loch Lomond) certainly do.
@@elliottdickson1200 ah okay. That makes sense. I think calling it a blend versus a batch threw me off. Good call!
@@MaZarems Yeah scotch can be weirdly confusing like that. Sometimes there can be many different types of casks (of the same single malt) in a batch. For a hilariously exaggerated example, look up the bottle Holyrood Arrival 😂
@@elliottdickson1200 that looks like a wild bottle. May have to track one down.
Kurt is Lit😂😂😂. That's said I love Scotch
Some high proof irish might have been better. Rye is easy to pick out even with the rum barrels.
I am a big fan of the Bunnahabhain, though I have not been fortunate enough to lay hands on a 12-year cask strength . . .yet.
Cat like reflexes 🐾
Happy National Bourbon Day!
I just can't so scotch. I've tried many, and I can't get past the old dirt taste. JMO
I'm the same, I've tried some that are ok but not enough to even consider spending money on
@@jaredthomas1809 Same.
Love the Bunnahabhain 12 CS! Picked it up based on a past video. Thanks for the recommendation! My only Scotch to date... also not a fan of peated!
I have a Springbank CS and it is wonderful. Mine is 54.1%. Thick Rich and delicious. It’s hard to stay out of it.
I love peat smoked.
Fun review! I think Bunnahabhain is about 3% peeted but it’s not very noticeable. Cheers
Yes!!!
No mention that today 6/14 is National Bourbon Day!?
Springbank is not a blended malt and it is mildly peated. Very expensive if you can find it.
Picked up a Westward cask strength at Binnys because how much you guys talk about it. $99.99 on sale for $89.99. I’m excited to try it!!!
That’s a good one, for sure.
Calling Springbank 12 CS "not expensive" is debatable.
I'm guessing he hasn't bought one in quite awhile. The last bottle I bought was in 2020 during the covid lockdown. I found a store that had it for $100 with free shipping. I wish I bought multiple bottles. I never see it anymore unless it is marked up to some ridiculous price like $500.
I'm looking for suggestions for a non-peated scotch that won't break the bank. Preferably one that isn't too hard to find...
Where did you fine the Springbank? I can’t find it in my area.
Personally, I had no use for Scotch before I discovered the peat of Islay.
7up notes... that's a Trent kind of note.
I wish to have a chance to taste the Springbank, nearly impossible to find in Asia
Elijah craig b254. Is hot..and plentiful in pa 75.oo
This should be a laugh!!
Squirrel!
I've only tried a bottle of Springbank 10 and it really let me down overall. It is obviously a quality dram but it comes off very farmy to me. Think of malted hay type flavor. High end Dewar's or Glen Scotia for me is better.
Springbank is a bit polarizing. Some people love that Springbank funk, while others hate it.
With the current prices on a Springbank 10, I'm sure you can get a higher quality Glen Scotia for the money, like one one their festival releases, a cask strength or older age statement.
, natural color.
Trent I think you would like Macallan 12!!
For a proof hound like him, I think it'll be way too soft
Been looking for both the Bunnahabhain and Springbank Cask Strengths for 6 years now.....never seen in stores, have entered lotteries for both several times...no luck so far....
Occasionally the Springbank shows up in Total Wines. Got my Bunnahabhain from Harry at Bee’s in Hobart, IN.
The Bunna 22 is leaps and bounds better than the 23. The 23 taste like a CS version of the 12, but the 22 taste like a 18 CS.
Round the Clock restaurant? Only in Indiana.
I'd watch a Fast Food Restaurant Blind, but Hmmm. it would be to easy to tell the major players' products apart.
I live in Indiana and have never seen one. Maybe they closed here in central Indiana or I have just missed them entirely.
@@MaZarems Google search is my best friend sometimes. Hahah
It is national bourbon day!
Springbank 12 cask strength IS peated......
I think Trenton is growing up 😂 a little.
PEAT is DISGUSTING
tastes like a Railroad tie!
😂😁🙌🏻🥃
Trent how did you get so much shorter than you dad
Trenton is a Doobie 😅
I enjoy your videos but dads smacking is lips are annoying
you wont ever want to hear this. but you want to take this to the next level and be top tier you put your son behind the camera and only have yoru brother next to you. sorry but thats the truth.
Another scotch hater, it's crazy not knowing how to appreciate great stuff.
That Springbank is incredible. So hard to find these days.
