    Great video! I've worked on a lot of different kinds of engines, but I've never seen a valve adjustment set up quite like this. (Needless to say, I haven't worked on a lot of motorcycle engines.)

    do you get much variance between doing it on the bench without tension on the cam sprocket and when you do final fitment?I've sometimes found that when the head is fully assembled and the chain is tight it pulls the clearance in a little on the sprocket end of the cam. the earlier Blade motors seem to be the most susceptible. I've always told the apprentices to make sure they do a final check one the tensioner is tight and before before they button it all up.

    Hey Shane. I'm shimming my cbr 600 f2 head on the bench but I'm starting from scratch with no shims and I need to know what cylinders to check when the 1 and 4 pistons are at top dead center. Can't find good info at the moment

    why you dont use metric when measuring gaps befuddles me.

    • @owain6207
      @owain6207 6 років тому +1

      People use what they are comfortable with you have to realise metric is a modern system from europe.
      I believe in the US they mainly use imperial but alot of machinists around the world still use it too as all of the old lathes/mills/micrometers etc are graduated in imperial and it works well for small precise measurements. hope that helps
