It’d be cool if every single weapon is a different part of the song. Like explosions from a weapon could be bass and one could be trap and such. This would encourage the player to switch weapons and kill, and it would make the game more even more unique!
Only 30 seconds into the video and the rhythm already feels amazing and those gunshots feel so impactful, can't wait to see where this project is going to go, huge fan of metal hellsinger so it's amazing to see more games with a similar idea

a combo + style system would be cool, buffing you for hitting consistently on the beat and for switching weapons, maybe there could be special beats that depend on the song signature ? but that would mess with custom songs

I am already hyped for this game even after 2 YT videos on this game. The game design seems like an endlessly replayable game that I would put many hours into and the game has a lot of creativity! Keep up your great work dude, it honestly looks awesome! I have a few ideas for the game that would definitely make it unique, like what if there were Swing Rhythm levels for Burst weapons that fire in Triplets (Coding hell probably)? Or what if when you reload on a downbeat it adds 5 bullets to your magazine? I digress, this game has so much going for it and I always love to see Indie Devs really sweep the floor when it comes to the gaming industry. I wish you the best of luck!

Interesting idea, I'm excited to see where this goes and how you mix all the things together.
I like the concept, and it kind of has an indie vibe with the “blueprint” look. It might be interesting to not make it look super polished, but to go for a more beat saber vibe. I like the aspect of skill mastery of hitting the targets with the rhythm. The sound effects rhythm + shooting looked super fun. Simple rules without being super complex to play. Almost like a 3D Vampire Survivors type of game.

EUREKA, i had an idea for the effects to be tied to music before on a different devlog thing but it didn't fit but it would be perfect if the upgrades were tapes for a tape recorder or something!

I think is would be good if there were other maps, and you can change your clothes like .Iron armor: +damage but -dash and speed. Burning suit: fire damage and fire can spread onto all basic unarmoured enemies ,-damage.
The game already looks sick as hell ! Can't wait to see what comes out of it :D

what if you added combo abilities related to the music?
for example, certain progression/secrets lead to the unlock of triplet pattern that does increasing damage with each successive hit (up to 3x damage on third hit) on beat, or
swing pattern that does slightly increased damage on every other shot?
These abilities can be active abilities that switch up the pace of the song, or perhaps passive ones that originate from different songs?

Hey Dadi, good to see your video pop up again. Hope to see more in the future. About the guns, do you have any plan to make them able to switch in the gameplay, of course, it still needs to be in on the beat and make it worth switching like empowering next bullet shot from the next gun, etc...
For now I think the player is going to be able to change weapons only at the starting hub. Like in Hades. Maybe I'll change it in the future. But now I think weapons should influence the general play style, changing weapons at runtime will be harder to balance.

Bullets Per Minute имеет слишком кислотный эффект пост процесса, иногда кажется что они пытались сделать шейдер Risk Of Rain 2 но не вышло.
А Metal hell singer не нравится сеттингом, ну и оранжевая палитра слишком яркая.
Тут скорее "на вкус и цвет фломастеры разные" но это сильно мешало играть.
А здесь после слов о том что технология подвязывается на магию сразу стало ясно что в это играем)
Ну и графический стиль приятный и в меру минималистичен, что плюс.
Удачи в разработке и расскрутке проекта)

I think what is important here is to allow for player self-expression. Check out games like ULTRAKILL and REAVER and see how they allow for combination of different weapons & abilities to allow players to do many more things beyond the initial scope of the game.
Other than that, I really like your visual style and the idea.
The top-comment by @Orca4YT mentions weapons being different parts/instruments of a song, and I think this would be very interesting. You could combine this with a song that gets more and more intense the higher your score multiplier is!
Have you heard of Robobeat? It's a sorta ultrakill-ish rhythm fps imo, I think you'd like it (and might be a good place for the vid creator to look for inspiration)

What I'm most impressed by is the weapon animations!
How did you go about adding movement/look sway on top of the other animations? Did you use control rig to IK the left hand to the gun?
I'm using ControlRig in the project, but not for hands. Sway, rotation, positioning, procedural walk animation almost everything calculated in blueprints and applied as an additive transform to bones in anim blueprint. If you want to know more ask me in my discord!
For me, the problem with rythm-shooter games is that the rhythm part doesn't seem to affect much the gameplay. Just the idea of making actions on beat doesn't work for me. Specially because shooters are real time games. Turn based games like Crypt of the Necrodancer makes a way better use of this system. So, to make a successful rythm-shooter in my opinion, yoi have two paths:
- Invest in music. Like pay for good original music that fits the themes of the game and that are timed with game events. Like the music changing tones or adding a new instrument when the boss appears.
- Or the harder path, make the rythim part fit the shooter part better. Other comment gave the idea of each weapon be a different instrument, so its not only a shooter but also a musical puzzle where you have to change weapons to "play" the musci better. Playing the music correctly could also give you a rank, that rises your damage, upgrade your weapons or put the player in a powerful state.
