I love your content. Don't you DARE stop posting and pursuing your dream. I know where you live
Does he live on isle goblin?
@@placeholderdoe duh
I agree with this guy
Is that supposed to be supportive or a threat?
@@CrimSimGrimyes
I love the idea that as part of goblin culture, it is both rude and also expected for the mayor to read people's diraries
😊😊
I love how you implemented the animation for the exploding mushroom. It cried before it explodes, to make you feel bad - but then you get a “mysterious reward” for killing the mushroom mother and all of its spawn. That’s a hilarious contrast within itself.
The game is gorgeous - I cannot wait to play.
Killing a mushroom before it explodes should drop their tears which you could craft into a potion that grants instant depression to an enemy... Love the game so far and the videos. You clearly put a lot of time and effort into these and it really comes through. Hope you have the strength you need for each week and looking forward to more content :)
Soloing the final boss with a depression droplet
@@placeholderdoe THAT WOULD BE SO FUNNY LMAO
I noticed that you added vanity slots, which is the greatest feature of all time. I can not express the amount of dopamine that entered my brain when I saw you were adding hats. thank you so much. do you think there is any chance that you can add a potato themed hat? maybe as a low chance when farming or from an achievement? potato hats automatically make games 10,000% better.
You unlock it by farming 500,000,000 potatoes
Now that you mention it, getting plant hats for each plant after you farm a ton of them sounds fantastic, I’ll definitely do that
@@WattDesigns thanks
Loved the unhinged human goblin drawings!
I’ve got a friend-group of 5 and hearing that the max player limit was 8 is unbelievably hype. We will watch your career with great interest ❤
This game looks honestly absolutely amazing. I love that a lot of ur mechanics have meaning and purpose that goes further than the mechanics use. Some of the best content in the space.
Watt, this game is amazing! I love terraria AND stardew valley, and this is an amazing blend.
This reminds me a lot of the survivalists in a very good way
bro is the most chillest person on youtube change my minde
You my good sir have a dream. You followed it. That alone is more than most can do. I really hope you succeed.
you should add a violin item that basically has the effects of a death whistle
I LOVE THIS YOU ARE THE BEST UA-camR
Hi just discovered this channel! I can already tell this game will consume my life, and it hard reminds me of the survivalists. So excited to watch this game develop!

This is very similar to how the game littlewood solved this problem :D
It felt great to play like that in littlewood, more personal.
I wish more games would do the same. But think it would get tedious once you have a lot of characters all asking at once.
Balance is hard, cant wait to see how you go about it :D
I don’t really care for these kind of games, but your passion and amusing style makes me wanna try make mushrooms cry. Wishlisted.
You should give a way to befriend the mushrooms, or maybe less hostile mushrooms you can trade with. But great progress so far!
I remember when the game did not look polished and was in early development, but now as I look at it, it looks amazingly smooth and polished. The fact that it's multiplayer just adds the icing on the cake. I will get this game because of that. I love to see how amazing it looks and all the content that's in it. AKA YOU DID A REALLY GOOD JOB. Expeashuly the fact that you're doing this on side of a full-time job just makes it more amazing!
I saw the notification for this pop up while I was at work and got wicked excited for the end of the day when I could get home, eat my one big meal, and relax with some UA-cam! I love the progress you're making and appreciate the updates. Keep em coming!
Fantastic to see all 14 months of progress. The game is looking really great!
I love the idea of gizmo. He immediately reminded me of Arthur Weasley, studying muggles.
"Can you tell me what exactly is the function of a rubber duck?"
I absolutely ADORE these new UI designs. The inventory vermin idea as amazing and the idea that they turn ito pets after you get them rid of your inventory is genius. Also the other UI like the toolbar being a pelt and other menus bein filled with trinkest and shoddy made leather feels wonderfully goblin.
I also got and idea to add to the inventory vermin, it would be kinda cool if they vere slightly animated and maybe the inventory could have a trashcan feature to get rid of unwanted items. And maybe that trashcan could be you dragging the items into the mouth of the possum or racoon and them just eating it. But I dont know how it will work after you get rid of them maybe after vermin leave your inventory there would remain a tiny possum puppy that could be used as a trashcan. But i feel like that puppy cant even take up 1 inventory space otherwise the players could want to get rid of them too
I can tell already that this game is going to be amazing! It has so much personality
i love the lil gerblins cant wait for more updates! Taking a break and making atmospheric additions to the game is not a waste of time, those are the things that get overlooked. Maybe adding tumbleweeds to certain areas or leaves blowing with a gust of wind effect would be fun to make.
It's really comforting to see that other devs are working full time, and the come home and work nearly full time hours on their games.
It can be maddening 😂
Hey, hey you! Goblin Guy!
You have some amazing ideas for your game, both for those of us who will get to enjoy playing it but also for yourself while making it!! Putting things in place now to make things easier in the future is brilliant.
I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to play this when it's ready 😊
This is the most patient I've ever been for a game and I'm not about to lose that patience-
I always liked rare events and surprises that could happen. I havent stayed caught up enough to know if there are weather events, but rain storms that help crops grow faster or lightning strikes that leave scorch marks on the groun sound like they would be really cool! Maybe even a rare creature during the events or maybe something perhaps like a wyvern mayhaps, who knows...
I have struggled to find a path in life since i first went to highschool, at first i stuck to engineering even entering an engineering uni, then i found out that doing something im just "ok" with but not actually passionate about doesnt feel right and even thought it might be the "dummer" choice, I switched it up for film and philology. Started to get more and more into the things i actually always cared about... TTRPGs, writing, world building, character building, emergent storytelling, etc. etc.
Now i am at a point in my life where i struggle to keep my hopes up for the future, afraid nothing will work out. I have a solid project in mind (writing/ttrpg/game related) but i just cant get any real work on it done... Cant manage to dig myself out of the hole of doubts. Lost in the "where should i start? How should i start? Whats the best way to start?"
Seeing you, truly inspires me. Following your dreams, dealing with income, making content and being super smart about all of it. For as little as i actually know you Matt, i aspire to be a Matt just like you. Keep up the great work and if you ever doubt yourself, know that you are my rolemodel. ✨
Thank you for the kind words, good luck on your journey! :)
I frickin love your content, I've been following you since the beginning and even though I am Mexican and my first language is Spanish, I've been doing what I can to understand your videos and I really enjoy them. I know you might not read this but I want thank you for this kind of content, I can't seem to find more stuff like this on the internet
Goblins can all read and write canonically now, with surprisingly neat handwriting too
The crying mushroom is fantastic. Congrats on the healthy work life balance.
This is the first of your videos I have watched and I loved it. Keep it up and I promise I will play it when it comes out. Now if you will excuse me I have to binge watch every single one of your videos so bye :3
I love the mechanics of "gizmos"! They seem a lot like charms from Hollow Knight!
please keep this up there is not many gamedev youtubers 1, making a good game and 2, making good videos.
Definitely excited with all the progress you've bean making. It looks awesome!!!
This looks super cool. Crazy dedication to do so much work on it while having a full time job.
This is one of the most fun dev vlogs I've ever seen!
Your functional schedule and executive function skills are quite impressive.
this game is my number 1 game on the horizon! I hope you have a class or perk system at one point because i love "builds". idk if that's in ur vision but i thought i'd share it anyway. keep up the great work, im rooting for you. thanks!
This is super inspiring and motivating to get started on a handful of ideas I have for games. I look forward to seeing more from this :D
Really loving the progress you've been making. It's looking so good man! Thanks for sharing 👏🏽
this game is so cool! keep it up!
Was interesting hearing about your day-to-day, really puts into perspective how much work you do on this thing. Have a great one!
1 month late to the comment section. Don’t give up you’re doing what I always dreamed of and it gives me confidence to try my hand at it. It’s really inspiring and the game looks great. I can’t wait to play it❤
You're awesome, thank you for working on this, you are an inspiration!
this is litteraly my dream game, ive been wanting to make it but never new how. so thank you for bringing this dream to life
the illustrations that fill your videos are so great hehe
thanks for the update
planting mushrooms like trees and harvesting it to make *soup*
I really love all of the silly goblin-y spins you're putting on each of these mechanics you're introducing, it's really fun!
Your game sounds like a super fun concept! I study civil engineering and never learned any coding in college. Now that I’ve been a professional for over a decade I finally took some classes and tried to learn to create games in Unity for fun. Man, it is hard to keep up with a hobby like that! I failed miserably. I love seeing projects like this. It really motivates me to try again… I won’t though… I’m too old and too busy with family stuff these days I guess. Can’t wait to try your game though!
I have been watching for a while and i enjoy it sooo much, i love your style of videos and the great effort you put into them, keep going!
As an Engineering Student who is also designing games, I can very much appreciate the work you put in. I imagine it will get a bit easier when I graduate but managing two "jobs" is pretty tough, props! :)
These devlogs and your drawings are always fantastic, great stuff as always.
I watch a lot of dev logs (while 3 months intoy own game) i never get as excited as this one. SDV is one of my big inspirations as well and youve captured a lot of love into this game that will be appreciated. 250K youtube channel right here. You and sasquatch studios.
lot's of progress! I admire your planning skills, please take all the time you need, no rush :)
Commenting to help the algorithm and to let you know that this is super inspirational
*APPY GOBLIN NOISES* The algorithm has served me well! going to go wishlist now!
you're cooking up an awesome game, every devlog surprises me further
As someone who also did game dev, I really want to throw in my idea but I really want you to keep your game completely original and fresh lmao
Keep up the good work! I understood the struggle with these game engine sometimes, especially for someone who isn't a full time programmer. You're doing amazing!
This game looks awesome! Can't wait to play it with some friends
From one goblin to another, this looks AMAZING!!! Like so good! Keep up the good work!!!
I have been consistently watching every single one of your episodes on this journey, found you on episode 3 I think and I'm in love with this. There is almost no channel where I'm this excited if a video pops up!!! It's so interesting to see how you go about making it and which little bits get tweaked each time and I'll hope the game will be a great success at the end (I will buy it, it's been on my wishlist since you could wishlist it!)
So glad to be able to watch this journey and kinda feel like going along with you!
wishlisted. Impressed by your commitment and I love your style of gamedev and devlogs
Super excited to play this, thanks for all the hard work
You have a ton of charisma and wit, super interesting project in all the interesting little details you come up with, a lot of personality to it, wow. I'm very impressed!
Nice to see you continuing work on this amazing project. Today's video was also quite well written. Gl with the future bro
Love these updates, looking forward to the game!
awsome progress. keep it up, seeing this series expand inspired me to learn unity and create my own stuff
The game is honestly looking so great. you are doing an amazing job!! cant wait to buy WHEN you achieve it! (you got this). also, i love the idea that certain mechanics exist because it is more 'goblin-y'
how is it possible you can find that much time on it! THAT. IS. IMPRESSIVE!
Keep on pushing :) game looks great. The feeling you will get when you'll finish it 100% will be unforgettable
I love the progress man, I cant wait to play this! Minor gripe I just think hearts would visually display better than a small bar for health that displays as you fight mobs.
As a computer engineer this is very inspiring. It’s great to see how much is possible when you manage your time well.
I just randomly stumbled on your video and now am feeling guilt because of my project graveyard. Will need to go in and dig something out back to life. Either way your animations look amazing, I was enthralled by the bouncy flame!
you're great dude. loving your work f'real.
This is the first video of yours I’ve seen! I love it! The game, the goblin art, and I enjoyed the clouds and fog, it really did make it feel dynamic. Keep up the great work!
I love that tear detail with the mushroom sprite!! Having those small details goes a looong way with creating immersion and story to the world! Add more of those it’s awesome!
This game looks so fun! Will deff get it when it is released. Will also watch your other devlogs too!
I just came across your channel, and I love! I can’t wait to see the next update!
Absolutely love where this is heading!!
Such a cool concept, can't wait for the release!
I don't even have a pc but i still whislist your game
You're an inspiration! Seriously, to be able to keep working on a side project after a full time job is no small feat. keep doing what you're doing, you're doing great :) i look forward to your game being released! Hope this found you well
I love the illsutrations so much they are hilarious 😂
The fog is great, adds a lot of atmosphere
I also approve your mushrooms 🍄, now the title screen and game are coherent :D
Game looks awesome! Keep going, you are inspiring so many solo/ small game devs. It will not flop, take that out of your mind!
this game looks awesome, I've found it quite inspiring to see all the cool ideas you've added
put it on my Wishlist, can't wait to play it some day
There aren't enough goblin games. Goblins forever! Added to my wishlist. Would love to playtest this! :)
Just found this game and absolutely love the art style and design, this video was super entertaining, so exiteced to watch you through this journey. Gl
wow, its my first time see your full video, and i regret not to watch it earlier... love your content and i hope you continue this content...
Randomly got recommended this video. I’ll go wishlist and stick around for future ones. Looks like a game that I’d really enjoy. Thanks for sharing :D
This looks really cool so far! I'm excited to see where this goes!! ❤
Great video. I think you've really grasped what to emphasize to make it feel different and less human; the diaries are great.
duende de la isla is actually a correct translation! haha. loved the video
Looks really interesting. Keep up the good work. Love that there’s cosmetics, the variety of environments, and seems to be multiple things to do as well.
And love the animation. That alone could be a series lol.
I legitimately cannot wait until this game comes out! I hope it blows up and allows this beacon of goblin love to make this the only job he needs!
A secret boss idea.
Goblin slayer. Just a dude who knows way too much about the player and has almost everything ready. Maybe a dark turn of events where the npcs get killed. Kinda like terraria’s wall of flesh, but it’s not a sacrifice and the dude just comes and kills all the npcs and starts a fight with you.
Just binged all of these today, can’t wait to see the finished product 💪
I love this game and have been keeping up with it sense the first video. When it is eventually released you can count on me to buy a copy! Also i personally think it would be cool if fig (because he has a mushroom obsession) could give you a map to one of the mushroom villages or something like that.
This looks amazing already:] you're an inspiration
Mannn. I’m so jealous of your brain. The way the video is made, the game, everything - it’s so well done. Please keep up the awesome work!
