Great video Henry. answered all my questions. I think I need to give this a proper look. At first I was weary as it didn't show exposure in terms of stops, but as you pointed out there are better ways of judging exposure with some of the other settings.

Great video. I picked up the app today. Any chance you've tried out a capture card with an OTG cable? The devs noted the resolution can easily be pushed to full 1080p.

Have you tried connecting your iPhone with a cable? I bought the app on iOS and my camera (ZV E10) does not support 5GHz Wifi, so the video feed is kinda laggy. When I connect my Android phone with a cable it works like a charm, but with the lightning cable the camera says: USB cable not recognized.

Hi Charlie - could you please let me know how you connected your A6400 via your HDMI capture card. I am trying to do the same with my A6300 but I can't get the app to recognize it. From your A6400 are you using a cable from the micro USB output to your capture card using some sort of adaptor - or are you connecting via a cable from the micro HDMI port to the capture card and then to your phone using an OTG adaptor? I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know how you've managed to connect it all up. Many thanks.

Monitor+ looks amazing, unfortunately it disconnects every 20 seconds on my FX 3, I think my wifi on my FX3 is broken 😡
I have downloaded and bought the Monitor + application and my cellphone is Android and my camera is a Sony A6000, I have connected via cable and it works, but the aperture doesn't appear, iso is on the top of the cellphone screen, so I can show it, what are the settings, please help me

Have the pro version. Camera zv-e10, mobile: Mi 9T pro. 1st time works, but after few minutes I always lose the connection, and have to restart the app. So not useful right now :(. Any tip please? Thanks!!
Is the connection more stable than the Creators App from Sony? I find that to be glitchy and unreliable for live viewing and if this app uses the same technology (bluetooth/wifi) then it might be the same.
Can someone confirm if the manual focus adjusting is pro only feature? I tried with free version (android / a7iii) and wasn't able to adjust manual focus on the app. Meaning adjusting the focus when MF, not AF/MF change.

Is it possible to shoot vertically? Mine, when I turn the camera to a vertical position (with the cell phone in "standing"/"stories" format), the view on the cell phone is in portrait mode, that is, it loses all the advantage of using the cell phone as an external monitor , and in addition the cell phone image is the opposite of the camera image. Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks for this great demo of the app ! I tried to connect my android tablet with my a7iv for hours and finally had success two times. GREAT APP !!...but connection failed after that. No chance to pair it again...no idea what happened. For example I did not get things like: do I need both connections bluetooth and wifi and why?? A little video, that explains EXACTLY the pairing process and the settings on camera and tablet/smartphone would be awesome !!
I'm using A7iv as well. Use a wired connection - it's bulletproof, and almost zero lag. My android phones need an OTG adapter. Don't know about iThings.

I dont understand why this app works so differently comparison to diferent Sony cameras. I have RX10mk4 with focus picking on touchpad but this option is unavailable in Monitor+ app. Also wifi connection is unavailable too despite genuine sony's application can send screen from camera to smartphone.

No matter what I do I cannot get this to display correctly. I can connect easily enough but all I ever see is the connection screen. There is no way to create an account on the app website and apparently no help is available. Great idea, but buggy as can be and customer service seems nonexistent. Frustrating.
A7iii works, except i cant change framerate, movie mode, cant slide manual focus but have to press buttons for the focus to change incrementally and i cant see media on my camera or how long i can record, every change i make is not instant, eg from iso 400 to 2000 it increments every step. Oh and wifi doesnt work at all.
Damn. Wish I did more research before paying for pro. The manual focus buttons are essentially useless with how slow or jumpy they're. Agree with you with the rest as well.
How do you get the app to work when wired?
Wired only works on android. If you have an android...go to your camera settings....turn of phone control...then go to pc remote and turn that on...(make sure usb mode is set to MTP) and thats it
Not working with my a7III wired...tested with a Xiaomi MI 8 and Samsung Tab S8 ultra .. app detects the camera but does not connect......
just make sure those phones support OTG connection, it works for me on a Xiaomi Redmi Note 11
When it pairs, it works so well. But on my iPhone 13 ProMax, it doesn’t pair dependably. What a shame.

I should add that the my iPhone 13 ProMax doesn't dependably pair with my Sony a7 IV using this app. It's very disappointing because this app looks so impressive...when it pairs.

Yeah it goes through almost 1% of battery per minute. Not something you want to use all day, unless you have a rig

doesn't work with older cameras a6000 a6500 a7ii rx0ii which is a shame
Maybe try getting an HDMI capture card. It works on my a6400 after getting one. Only about $15 US

Alot cons missed or overlooked in this video
1. When you hit replay, it defaults back to the screen on the back of the camera
2. When your camera goes to sleep then you have to go through the whole reconnection process!
