Your reaction is priceless. It is cool to see the younger generation embracing the old classic tunes by the great singers of the past. Great music was made back then. That is a good thing that you are exploring different styles of music to increase your musical knowledge. This song was originally written in the 1930's but Sinatra recorded this in the 1960's backed by the great Nelson Riddle orchestra. That band could swing. It was a smooth performance vocally and instrumentally. You should do a video on Sinatra singing ' I Wanna Be Around' with the great Count Basie band. It really swings.
poetgb I hate how I grow up in the generation of garbage rap and pop. It's an embarrassment to anything with half a brain cell
I so agree
@@antonioiniguez1615 Yes, I agree. The music years ago was much better.
@@nancyarrington5415 Yes, This music is timeless.
Young man, you've got a lot of rhythm and a lot of soul
Amen
Wow ole Blue Eyes... Franks a legend. Glad to see you discover him.
So nice to see a man that doesn't see color discover an artist who never saw color. The Chairman of the Board would be proud.
love to watch him and Dean Martin clowning around together. Dean was also a really good singer, made it look easy, and seemed not to take himself seriously.
Some singers have great technique, some some sing with style and personality. Frank was one of the rare ones who had both.
That was a profound and intelligent correlation you made with "Tom & Jerry"!
It really was.
Dang it was!
Yep
I read your comment and was waiting and thinking Tom and Jerry, how? Yes! Orchestration comparison was right on point.
You are someone who could/should teach music appreciation I took it in high school and college. I want you to listen to Nat King Cole. You'll get a thrill.
I love you digging Sinatra. You should give Ella Fitzgerald a listen. Would love to see you react to Ella Fitzgerald: I Can't Give You Anything But Love (Live)
Im83 years old and have loved Frank's voice for decades.if you want to hear a truly magical voice listen to sinatra in the 40s .the best popular singing voice of the century.
Respect Sinatra. He's THE MAN. I appreciate your getting the instrumentals. I'm a trumpet player, so I love this groove.
Dude. You’re an old soul. God bless you a million times over! ❤️
If you’ve never seen Fantasia, by Disney, you’ll LOVE it! It’s all instrumental and set to a cartoon. I know you love “Tom and Jerry”... I know you’ll love Fantasia.
Great talent is appreciated by every generation. . .I'm an older guy and it's cool to know you have the taste to recognize that Frank had it all. Also, notice how many women love Frank's sound and style. . .Young guys could learn so much from Frank about that!
❤he was the man!
Come on Twin, you're killin it playin all this great music. You make me feel so good. Keep doin it!
You are one clever young man. I love that you appreciate the instrumentation in these old big band numbers. And it brings me happiness when I see the joy in your face at Frank’s phrasing of the lyric. ❤️
This 75 year old English woman just loves you. Playing all this music from my era. We had the best. ❤️
Love your reactions. And you're right. The instruments add tons of texture. It was Nelson Riddle who did most of Frank's arrangements for the orchestra.
I am loving that you are so appreciative of the sound from that time and the GREAT talent of Ol' Blue Eyes, Frank. There are SO many people on UA-cam that have reaction videos , BUT you are NUMBER 1 in my book. You are classy yourself for being so open to all genre! You are right about Tom & Jerry!!! I love you bro!!
This and The Summer Wind are my two fave Frank songs of all time.
You have an old soul! Love it!!! This is one of my favorite songs ❤
Give a listen to The Glenn Miller Band, “In the Mood” for some more big band sound.
Glenn Miller Band was 🏅
Song of the Volga Boatman! Must Must must!! ua-cam.com/video/RCvpWKLMeoM/v-deo.html
I was going to suggest that, too!
I loved Glenn Miller, and got to play In The Mood (alto sax) in high school.
herbiesnerd reading my mind💯 Any Glenn Miller or Benny Goodman would probably be great, the way he appreciates the full orchestra sound 😀 Can't wait to see his reaction to Big Band/Swing Era (chef's kiss)💕
I adore Sinatra. On rainy days when my son was small, I would turn up the stereo and we would dance to him. To this day, my son is now 20, and he knows the words to Swing on a Star.
My wedding song ❤️❤️❤️ thanks for doing Frankie so much!
Ps. Not that I was born when this was released, I’m not that old 🤣🤣
You can’t forget the whipped cream! Love your reactions to such incredible music.
It makes me so happy to see you young people appreciate the old songs. He was before my generation but with people like you, the beat goes on. I'm laughing because when you said about the original I said about your reaction to Ray Charles.
Etta James. At Last. is another
It's a girl song
At Last is just a fabulous song for anyone, either gender. It is an earthy, sexy love song.
Ray Charles has been my favourite since I was about 11, and that's a long time ago. I finally got to see him live, by a fluke, in Calgary in a kind of dumpy little dinner club called Lucifer's. My brother had gotten tickets from somewhere, and we went, got a table next to the stage. I got goosebumps when they led him out onto the stage. I'd forgotten that he wuold have to be helped out. I could have reached out and touched his foot almost. I've no idea how he came to be playing in that club.
He started out with Georgia, and I was just smitten. Wonderful show. What a loss.
You crack me up. I'm a new subscriber this evening and your reactions are priceless (and I love your discoveries) (and I'm an aging white chick).
My Daddy and I danced to this song at my wedding. Ol’ Blue Eyes, there is no one like him or better. I love him
Me and my dad too!
I think what you’re appreciating is the “orchestrations” and “arrangements”. I highly recommend you listen to “Sinatra...A Man and His Music”. It’s Frank singing his way through his life with music. He talks about the different orchestras he’s sang with. It’s wonderful!
Nothing like hearing this song and remembering the person who made you feel this way.
You have discovered what is called, ‘the Great American Songbook’....you could spend a lifetime listening to all the songs Sinatra recorded
Frank was great, clear, crisp, brilliant voice
I love this guy
I love how excited you get about Mr. Sinatra. :)
My uncle played trumpet in the Tommy Dorsey big band when Frank was the boy singer, this was in the late 1930s. I have always loved Big Band music and e erything Sinatra ever recorded. I’m glad you have discovered the music of this wonderful era!
I love your channel and that a young man like you can enjoy Frank. For the record he is even before my time :-)
Outstanding reaction. This song is arranged by a man named Nelson Riddle. When he and Sinatra made music together, it was pure magic. "The Way You Look Tonight" was probable Riddle's best arrangement, and Sinatra swung the shit out of this song!
You were talking about how the songs are arranged differently these days. I agree. Live instruments, especially for this type of music, is everything. I can't imagine this music being put together any other way.
BTW - this version of the song was released in the mid 1960s. If you really want to know how different music was arranged between that time and the Big Band Era, check out this performance of the same song by the great Billie Holiday. Notice the differences in arrangement: back then, the music was front and center, and the vocalist actually served as the bridge, before the band closed the song Check it out. BTW - Billie Holiday is known for some dark moody stuff, but like Sinatra, she could swing it like no one else.

While I'm not the biggest Frank Sinatra guy, you can't argue the swag and the style.
So true about Tom and Jerry!!! Some great instrumentals there!
I know eventually you are gonna get to my fave Frank Sinatra song ‘Witchcraft’, but so far, so good. 👍
I agree. Can't wait! What about "All the Things you are", too?❤💜💙
Witchcraft... your taste is elite
Thats a full Orchestra behind old Blue Eyes.
I LOVE that you are reacting to actual classics no one beats the rat pack!
You’re absolutely right. There’s no substitute for actual instruments. Frank and all the singers of that era had awesome swinging bands behind them.
Wow, I love this song. He's timeless
Sinatra and Elvis personified the word “cool”...
The original swag kings!
Some kid on the Voice is doing Frank and this kid is young ! Staying with the style too!
Many kids heard old instrumentals in cartoons that were classics.
You're right about using all those instruments, really memorable.
You have such a refreshing open mind.....I had not thought of Tom and Jerry.....😃
My grandfather got my into frank Sinatra
Nothing wrong with the old song love it
Keep it up man
It's cool to see young ppl, get out of their comfort zone & explorer new music.
There isn't a genre of music, that I don't listen to.
My mom would just pick a random radio station & we would listen to it all day.
Bobby Darrin was a fan of his and also sang many of his songs. I do remember Tom and Jerry
Good music is good music! Doesn’t matter the year. Helps having the greatest crooner in history!! Glad you are hearing this time of music.
The trumpet players back in the day used to mute their trumpets with toilet plungers (the rubber part). It's so cool to hear the difference between muted and unmuted!
It is the trombones that get me.
Thiis is Nelson Riddle Orchestra. They always played on his songs!
Not always he used many arrangements wil Axel Stordell more string on those. He redid his on songs and made the more up tempo Slowed down songs to ballads with only the best of the time and often gave credit before singing on live cocerts.Recommend Sinatra At the Sands
Quincy Jones did quite a few of the arrangements
The great Count Basie Orchestra. “The World We Knew” and “Cycles” plus many more
🤣😂 two words and you were like "what did he say?" ❤
they called him the chairman of the board
I love that you appreciate the orchestrations if these classic recordings. There were so many great session musicians and arrangers. Now, not so many...😪
One of my favorite Frank songs of all time! I used to sing it to my kids at bedtime. Loved hearing it again
This is really awesome. I was once a young kid exploring the classics and I love to see the younger crowd doing the same now! Great reaction! Love it!
You look so happy listening to this music.
I like the connection you made to old cartoons and how instruments conveyed the feelings and meaning. So glad you enjoy it!
His tone is so pure.
I enjoyed your video. I was your age when I discovered Sinatra and I remember just being surprised how good it was. And I agree with your note about the instruments with Tom and Jerry. Spot on!
Love rediscovering Frank. Thanks for the reaction Yeah, the instruments are great. They make all the difference. Keep the videos coming. You're so likable. It would be great if you would react to Radiohead. Paranoid Android is a good song to start, or Weird Fishes.
I love Ol' blue eyes!
Yes i get the Tom and Jerry thing. One of my fav cartoons.
I always have fun watching you guys videos, Thank you! I'm sitting hear dancing :)
No, it's hard to copy Frank Sinatra's voice, but Harry Connick, Jr., sometimes reminds me of him. Harry's voice is really smooth :)
This song! Totally vibin with you and couldn’t agree. Real instruments are the ultimate.
Big Band sound is the Best. Swing. The rhythm, the beat, the pop of the trombone!
Easy listening music for anyone anytime.
Good one. Big bands great. That's how Sinatra got started.
People try to sound like him, but no one can, and one reason is, Frank shapes, and phrases each lyric..... it’s a very unique way that make Franks music one of a kind, and of course his voice, no one can sound like him, that is a one of a kind voice like Armstrong
My Dad played Frank Sinatra all of my growing up years....I will always love Frank Sinatra! So happy you're discovering this music and loving it!
Frank is the 🐐 How can you sound that strong next to that orchestra???? Also how he leaves so much space for them to just tear it up.
This is my all time favorite song from Frank Sinatra so beautiful!
Frank based his style on African American jazz women like Mabel Mercer, Billie Holliday, and Ella Fitzgerald. He learned about breath control by musician Tommy Dorsey. He worked his voice like an instrument with the band. Quincy Jones said he always sang in the pocket. Nelson Riddle, his great arranger, said his voice in his career was a violin, viola, and cello. He cared about music and the lyrics. You are right. He came from the streets. He was a champion for civil rights.
I am so hooked on you. You help bring back so many memories of great singers, great songs and fantastic orchestrated music. You too are fantastic....... thank you for your music appreciation!
The best reaction yet.
One of Frank's best. He always had a good band. What music did you grow up on?
Nelson Riddle's arrangement was spectacular. Add Frank's smoooooth voice and it's an instant classic. I am so happy you are finding all these artists from the past. Music heals us all.
Can't beat his appreciation of the string arrangement
Frank is the BEST
Gotta love Franky. YOUR music appreciation is as you say - COLD!
You're making me hungry for ice cream lol!! Love how open you are!!!!! It's WAY easier for us all to diss things 'before us' (which I'm totally guilty of), but it all builds and evolves. For you to not make fun of this stuff is really beautiful--you are WAY beyond your years. I was stupid and thought I knew everything about music at your age & would've thought so much of what you've reviewed was 'stupid', 'old', whatever. Never recognising its place in history as well as its place as a building block to where we are now. I think you're wonderful!!!
The man responsible for the music on this and many of the greatest Sinatra tracks, including 'Under My Skin', is the bandleader Nelson Riddle and his band, The Nelson Riddle Orchestra. They also worked with Ella Fitzgerald, Dean Martin, Ray Charles, Nat King Cole and many more.
My Dad's fav. Old blue Eyes! Big Band music. Thanks Tim for this special memory 💜.. Joan Bates
KC-I & JO JO..."Crazy"....official video
Love your videos, man! You have a great talent and a gift - being able to expose so many different genres to so many different people. Keep it up!
Lucky enough to have heard my parent's generation of music on the many variety shows still on TV - love the old standards and wish we still had those old variety shows again...I love this guy (and his brother)!
"Honored" and "humbled." You've got it, Timothy. Thanks for your honesty.
love, love, love your passion for good music!!!!
Nothing like a full band to backup the artist!...still here going through your vids! 🤗
Tom and Jerry and the Pink Panther.
Yup I forgot about black panther you right ‼️🤟
@@TwinsthenewTrend
"They can't take that away from me." Only 2 minutes long, but IT'S THE ONE. You GOTTA do it! Sinatra's greatest vocal performance (in my opinion), and he was before my time. Smoother than velvet.
The instruments!!!! Orchestra music is moving!
Great that you appreciate the instrumentals. Sinatra was backed by Nelson Riddle and Orchestra on many albums. It’s a pleasure watching you get into the groove of American classics, listening closely, and appreciating what the artist is doing. 😎
One of my all time favorites!! You my friend are an old soul and I love it!
He melted womans hearts they fell to his feet!
with you feeling joy on a Sunday morning in Oregon listening to this great and classic music
My uncle Ron Anthony was a guitarist for Frank Sinatra. He toured the world with him.
Loved your reaction 🙃Also Ben E. King Magic Moment one of my fav songs its so good got that old soul feeling just gotta love it.
Sinatra was a real singer. His phrasing and breath control are impeccable. Quincy Jones was arranger on a lot of his albums. Check out his albums Only the Lonely and Where Are You.
Quincy Jones led his orchestras George Benson Count Basie Try Frank's tribute Called Here's to the Band
Glad you got a chance to hear this, this is my favorite Frank song :-)
