    The Luxury Package which this truck is top of the line with Wireless Apple Carplay and a Wireless Phone Charger among other features. As of now it also boasts best in class Horsepower and in my personal opinion the best looking truck in the segment!

    Evan...No one has been able to answer this question about the Pro4X. Knowing that the New engine is Direct Injection only does anyone have any higher mileage examples(like maybe 100K miles) so that we can have a review of how the direct injection is affecting the motor in the long term? We do not trade our vehicles in every 3 years so would need to know for sure as I know DI engines have problems with coking on the back side of the valves which has to be walnut blasted to correct. I like the Pro4x better than the Tacoma but as of now can't take a chance on it with my upcoming new purchase which will happen within the next 2 months....or does Nissan have cleaning service provided with the warranty that will take care of this?

    • @jackrussellville
      @jackrussellville Рік тому +1

      So I can tell you that on Nissan's V6 DI engines like this one there isn't a large problem with carbon, most of the time a routine maintenance takes care of it, but as long as the engine gets to full operating temperature when it is driven and you don't drive it for a mile and shut it off then the carbon won't be a problem. That said if you give the accelerator the foot regularly it pretty much takes care of its self. I was a Toyota tech for 20 years and we routinely did cleaning for carbon build up with Toyota brand fuel system cleaner in the pressurized can.

    • @dalephillips8250
      @dalephillips8250 Рік тому

      @john walsh thanks for the info. What troubles me is it big brother the Titan also changed to DI and they are having the typical problems with bad carbon buildup that has to be walnut blasted to correct. @jackrussellville Рік тому +1

      @@dalephillips8250 I personally have inspected over 20 VK engines with more than 300,000 miles and it's not a widespread problem I suspect that when carbon build up becomes a problem it is a because of a lack of routine maintenance. I have even seen engines with DI and port have carbon build up that caused a very expensive repair, I'm not saying that there won't be carbon build up, I'm just saying when it comes to all engines routine on time maintenance is the what determines longevity, in my opinion engine abuse isn't the way it's used but the way it is maintained

The new frontier motor just came out in 2020 so I'm assuming that you are referring to "VK" as other DI only engines from Nissan. Am I correct? I just know that Ford had issues with them and changed to both port and DI. Toyota uses port and DI also called "D4 S" system. Both companies did this to avoid the coking on the valves problem caused by DI. Below I've posted the 1st video of the Titan owner....even after he cleaned the valves he has later posts where the problem came back again in only 20K miles. His last post he stated he was just going to get rid of the truck due to the hassle.

    this is not the luxury package.. The luxury package should have included the locking rear tail gate, Power in mirror with garage door opener. I will say that i really like the looks the feel and drive of this truck. I do not like the packages.. the amount between each package and what you get in each package add on is not = in value. For example this is said to be luxury but you still have to add on a ton of things to get the full package. Luxury means fully loaded. this truck is not. To me its very deceptive to a customer when they are asking about add on-s, and packages. Because most sales men won't tell you all the add on-s or the extra packages. They want to sell whats on the lot.. mostly because the trucks are limited in stock.. thats do to all these renta car places buying all these cars are 5000 above sticker.

    Very nice truck, but since it's a Nissan, make sure you get rid of it before 100,000 miles or when the warranty runs out, which ever comes first. I had a Nissan Xterra, that I loved until it started giving problems. Long story short, the oil was mixing with the power washing fluid and messed up the truck. Nissan mechanics couldn't figure out what was going until after 100,000 miles, when the service manager finally told me it was a known issue. Not a recall, just a known issue. But my warranty was over, so it was going to cost me $6000. to fix. I will never buy another Nissan, they suck as a company. But the cars are nice until you have problems.
