    I never thought I'd consider buying a non-Toyota product, but I'm seriously thinking about buying the new Nissan Frontier precisely because Toyota failed to include a V-6 option in their new Tacoma. I can't see myself spending a huge amount for a 4-cylinder truck. Give me a normally aspirated V-6 engine without a turbo and I'll be happy.

      I just traded my 2015 Trd sport for a new pro 4x. I don’t regret it a bit. Hopefully it’ll last long enough to make me not care about the resale value.

      I've had five new Toyotas in the last 20 years but was looking for a truck that wasn't so huge as the full size ones. IMHO the Tacoma doesn't measure up to the Frontier. One drive in the Frontier and I was sold. It handles extremely well and after four months of ownership, I'd buy it again. It may not have the same resale value as my Toyotas, but I paid thousands less for it to start with.

    I was in the market for a truck recently and was so sold on buying a 3rd gen Tacoma. Ultimately I loved the styling of the new 4th Gen tacomas, but couldn't justify paying the prices. I had really looked down my nose at Nissan trucks, especially when you consider them discontinuing the Titan. When i really started to dig into WHY I wanted the 3rd Gen Tacoma (2020+), the Frontier Pro-4x gave me just about everything i wanted from 3G taco, and even exceeded the tacoma in some areas. Transmission, NA V6, interior styling, infotainment setup, A/C blows SO SO cold, to name a few. I ended up buying a used '22 Pro-4x fully loaded w/ 16k miles for a price where I wouldn't have even sniffed a similarly loaded '22 TRD Off-Road in the same range. So the fronty came home with me. I am so happy with my decision.

    3 things you don’t like:
    - Lumbar support : The lumbar adjustment is on the right side of the driver seat, adjust it and see if it’s a more comfortable ride for you.
    -Issues with your screen performance: I believe you’re having an issue, my 2024 Pro 4x reaction is way more reactive than yours. I would take it back to the dealership and see if they can help you figure that out.
    -Plastic on the dash and door caps: This has the be a more UV resistant material, hence the hard Plastic, but I agree with you, in general, they could use less plastic in all.
    Hope this helps!

    I was always a Toyota guy and couldn't stand Nissan. I took a chance on a 2016 Frontier and loved it! After many miles, I purchased a 2019 Frontier and loved it. My only complaint on those two was the horrible turning radius! I often felt like Austin Powers turning that golf cart around in the hallway. It was embarrassing!
    My 2023 Pro 4X has a MUCH better turning radius!!
    It doesn't sound as good as the other 2, but it still sounds pretty good.
    My biggest complaint is the gas door always comes open in the car wash. It's just a matter of time before it gets torn off!

    • @robertvasquez240
      @robertvasquez240 7 місяців тому +1

      I never use cruise control, and I expect all new automatic transmissions to seek out gears that get the best gas mileage. So your complaints are moot points for me.

      The dude said drops gears at the slightest incline and you read that as gear hunting for better gas mileage. That's exactly the opposite of being fuel efficient. After almost a year of ownership my only complaints are the drivers window armrest is too hard and uncomfy. Wheel wells should be bigger, can only get 33's on, anything larger requires trimming which is annoying. Cruise control is insane, it drops the hammer to 5000rpms on a 1% incline. Remote start only runs twice for 10 mins each, not enough time to warm it up when it's -40 out. Outside of that it's been an excellent truck. Especially for the price.

    • @steady3608
      @steady3608 6 місяців тому

      Nissan released a Technical Service Bulletin (NTB24-005) last month to fix the crazy cruise control over-revving problem. If your truck has the correct ICC part number, which it should, the dealer will upload new software and the cruise control will shift like its supposed to. It'll drive like a completely different truck, in a good way.

    I just watched your review on the 2023 Nissan Pro 4X I had owned one for 16 months and I thought your review was very good except you might’ve missed a couple things starting with one. It doesn’t have any telescopic steering which limits you to the size of driver Two there is a lumbar adjustment they just don’t make it obvious to see it’s on the right side of the driver seat three the backseat is the worst in that segment. The sitting position is very uncomfortable. There is no room when you put car seats in there the kids have no room for their feet. Four the turning radius is terrible five the gas consumption could be a lot better for that size vehicle. six the backseats do fall down. Unfortunately, you have to take the head bumpers off and with the subwoofer underneath the driver side backseat it takes away from storage quite a bit. but all in all I think for what you can pay for one of these it’s not a bad buy compared to some of the other vehicles in that segment I’ve done extensive research on all of them and I driven Pickup trucks all my life for 40 years plus, I’m at the time of my life where I need to downsize and I found it for as much as I use a Pickup for what I use it for the Honda Ridgeline was by far away the best vehicle in that category for storage comfortability, luxury, materials, longevity, and resell

      I believe it is real leather actually. As for reliability, there are some older Frontiers still running around. 400k might be pushing it but the engine and transmission in this one have been used on older models of the Frontier so it should be generally reliable.

    Nissan copied the body style of the Toyota Tacoma. Lame. The GM trucks did as well. I guess when the best selling midsized truck by far is the Tacoma you would expect that other companies would copy the looks. When you sit in the rear seats you sit straight up. There is no decline in the seat back. The rear sliding window is not powered. You have to actually get in the rear seat and slide the window open yourself. What I do like about this truck is the price. Toyota has many more features in their upper level midsized truck models but you’re going to pay for them. The Nissan is a decent off-roader truck with the rear axle locker and would be more capable off road with better AT tires.
